DxP REWRITE - Ingo

The main reason for this comic himself lol. In the past 2 years, Ingo has had bits of his old personality come back as his subconscious makes more sense of what little of his memories he had left, particularly his volume & posture.

Like Emmet, I could’ve just gave him his in-game Hisuian team, & it is almost one-for-one, except for the free Shiny Ponyta you get near the beginning of the game - I had the thought that he was “lured” to its purple flames as a Rapidash for some reason…so Mizumi gave it to him between the end of PLA & the start of DxP REWRITE.

🔼 After some thinking (mostly thanks to this Sword / Shield Submas run I’m playing), I decided Emmet & Ingo do nickname their Pokémon after rail terms after all lol. Apart from the more obvious names, Olton is for the 5972 Olton Hall, the train they used for the Hogwarts Express, & Victoria, named for a type of horse-drawn carriage that refers to the time before the “iron-horse” ran the rails.

Thoughts on shiny machop line?

Machop: In isolation, Machop's shiny is fine—sort of a dull bronze-y yellow, which is a very noticeable change from the standard light blue. However, the rest of the shiny line is green despite the regular line all being more-or-less the same color, making shiny Machop very inconsistent. I feel like the same green (and blue) used on Machoke or Machamp would've worked here too and would've kept the line from changing color for no reason. Still, not bad, just not very coherent.

Machoke: Machoke has the best shiny of the entire line, swapping blue for a slightly minty green (not sure if there's any specific reason for this outside of maybe a Hulk reference, but I'm not sure why they're blue in the first place so) and red for blue. It looks good, and the shiny is very striking and easy to notice.

Machamp: At first glance Machamp seems fairly consistent with Machoke, swapping green for blue. However, it's actually a slightly different shade of green, and while it's true that Machop is more purple-ish than Machamp it doesn't feel intentional when shiny Machop is an entirely different color. Regardless of that, however, is that the reds here stay the same, whereas they change on Machamp. You could blame Machamp for the inconsistency, but the red swap was actually a nice additional touch and something I think the whole line should've kept.

Gigantamax Machamp: Machamp's Gigantamax form is genuinely consistent, so there aren't any real issues here apart from what I already mentioned with Machoke. Only complaint is that I think it would've been neat if the orange on the hands became red or yellow, both because it would've looked better with the green but also because it just would've been a nice touch in general.

Overall: Some pretty good shinies, though not very consistent. Machoke's shiny is the best, Machop's is fine but doesn't fit with the rest of the line, and both of Machamp's are good and mostly match with Machoke's minus some small details.
