It was a hot day as usual on Isla Nublar, and construction on a brand new Rollercoaster had just wrapped up. Claire, of course, was at the opening ceremony, being the operations manager. She stepped down from the podium and Mr.Masrani took her place. Claire didn't hear much of what he was saying, as she was caught up shaking hands and speaking with reporters, but one particular phrase grabbed her attention. "And Miss Dearing here will be testing it out first!"

Claire's head snapped in Masrani's direction. "H-huh?!" She stammered. He motioned for her to approach him and she did so. "Sir...I..I don't think that's a good idea." She said. "Why not, Claire? Loosen up a bit, have some fun!" He said. Claire chuckled nervously as she fidgeted with the sleeves of her blazer.

"That's not..really my type of fun...I don't do so well on Rollercoasters..." she tried to explain, but, her boss insisted. And when your boss insists on something in front of the entire park, you do it.

So there she was, getting strapped into this huge metal death trap by someone she wouldn't trust to fasten a car's seat belt. Claire braces herself and gripped the restraints, as the ride took off.

The Rollercoaster was indeed one of the most ambitious of the park's rides, full of corkscrew turns and loops. By the time the ride was over, Claire was dizzy and disoriented, and her once pristine red bob was a tangled disaster. She stumbled from the ride car, staggering like a drunk until she managed to grab ahold of a light pole. "So, how was it?" Mr.Masrani asked, seemingly obvious to her discomfort. Claire didn't even have time to answer before she doubled over and threw up all over her white blouse and skirt and her heels.

Claire was escorted by Masrani and her assistant, Zara, back to her office, where Zara waited on her hand and foot, tending to her upset stomach and bringing in a fan and change of clothes for her.

Meanwhile, Mr.Masrani felt terrible about what'd happened, and he wished badly that he'd listened to Claire. So, as an apology, he arranged for her to have a day off complete with a complete, deluxe, spa treatment and a gorgeous jungle waterfall view. So, the day wasn't a total loss for Claire, really.

Watching JW rn and man, I feel so incredibly bad for Simon Masrani. He didn't deserve to die. I actually really liked him.

Okay but what if, and hear me out it’s all down to Ben AKA welcome to my ted talk conspiracy theory AKA I just finished chaos theory it’s 1am and I have wild thoughts:

-the handler was a clone of Ben

-Ben got onto the island because his mum worked for Simon Masrani (according to google) so theoretically she has access to that sort of technology

-So when Ben got back from the island and was like “I completely bonded with a dinosaur” the science people were like ‘ah right. Here’s a boy Compatible with dinos. How can we use this but make it more messed up’.

- Ben and Brooklyn shared a joke about clones on the rooftop. Foreshadowing?

- The handler looks very similar to Ben when he was younger and they share a similar eye colour now even though ben’s eye colour was a brownish colour at one point (I think)?

-the handler is tweaked so is telepathic or part raptor? We know that the science people weren’t shy from playing with DNA

-what if ben’s mum is now working with Dr Wu and she’s running things now?

-it would kind of make sense to me why Brooklyn faked her own death. She wanted to uncover the truth but found out it was ben’s mum and she saw what happened to kenji when his dad was revealed as evil so didn’t want that for Ben and wanted to be sure before pulling that out of the bag.

-the handler is going rogue chasing down the campfam especially Ben. We know the Boss doesn’t like loose ends but what if the handler sees Ben as a loose end (like emotionally) and by killing Ben ends are tied.

-Ben spoke in Italian when his van sunk. What if his European “girlfriend” was from Italy? What if they met on dark Jurassic but have never met in person? What if he was being catfished by the handler?

What other wild theories does everyone have? I want to hear them!

Incorrect quote from my Dino Squad/Jurassic World crossover fanfic.

Victor Veloci: Hey Simon. It would totally be a responsibility business man thing to do to fly that helicopter into battle with a giant gun, even thought you don't have your pilot license yet. Think of the PR. Do it for the gram.

Simon Masrani: Bet

Veloci:...Because when you die all my company's stock will skyrocket and I can pluck this park from your cold dead hands.

Fuck it, a second Jurassic Park hot take: (movie) John Hammond is not a villain (Book John Hammond is an ass).

The biggest thing I've seen arguing that he's an asshole and JP was all his fault was underpayment Dennis Nedry. We have no evidence in the media itself that Dennis was being underpaid for his work. The amount that he is being paid is never named. We DO get a line from Hammond to Nedry about paying what he owes, but that always gave me more of a "I am paying you a reasonable wage for this job. The fact that you're terrible with money and can't sort your own shit out is not my fault or problem".

Which is a totally fine stance for an employer to have! Dennis complains about his pay not being enough but no one else in the entire movie seems to have an issue with their wages. In the book, once again Nedry is the only one. It seems to me that the takeway should be that "Nedry is a greedy asshole" and not "John Hammond was abusing his working class employees"

(Side note, Nedry is a greedy asshole, and is made out to be an asshole to animals and willing to let people die to make a quick buck. However his depiction on the movie as a slob, the whole falling down on the mud scene that leads to his death, and the general way he's treated in many of the writing decisions are incredibly fatphobic, and deeply not okay)

So let's go over what John Hammond DID do. He showed up to try and be present and available for the birth of each dinosaur (the fact that he didn't know about the hatching in the beginning of the film makes me think that wasn't the first time Wu "forgot" to tell him, but the man tried).

He brought back paleo-flora to go woth his dinosaurs, tried to give them as close to authentic habitats as possible.

He insisted that they'd want to keep the price if admission to the park low so that everyone could attend and see the dinosaurs. It was a vision he wanted to *share* with everyone.

He funded a first of its kind state of the art security system and isolated the park from the mainland so that in case anything catastrophic happened, the danger posed by the park would be contained.

He prioritized getting his grandchildren back once everything went to shit, and did everything in his power to help them get off the island (he's a fuddling grandpa, there's wasn't much he was ever going to be able to do).

All of this to say, that John Hammond is not a saint, but the man meant well and did his best to bring his dream to life, and then to share it with the world.

It's part of what makes me think that John, shows up for every dino birth he knows of, lovingly calls the dinos animals, clearly has this great sense of wonder about the whole thing, Hammond would have *hated* Simon, they're assets not animals, I've never seen this super traumatized death-dino before, what happened to its sibling? I have no idea what Henry Wu has been doing in the lab I put him in, I literally die playing Action Hero because I let the death-dino kill all my guys, Masrani.

Long story short, Hammond is not a villain. He's not perfect, and certainly makes some mistakes (add in some critical redundancy to your systems my dude), but he is just as much a victim as the rest of the cast.

Summary:

Eliza Grant never understood why things happened the way they do, or why she had gone through such heartbreaking experiences. Though, what she did know is that there is no such thing as coincidences.

As if what happened in 1993, at Jurassic Park, wasn't enough. Eliza gets an unfamiliar phone call from a man named Simon Masrani in need of her skills, knowledge, and help at the new theme park. Jurassic World.

Using her knowledge on raptors through paleontology, she travels to Jurassic World. Leaving behind her father, along with her best friend Ian Malcolm, to work alongside Owen Grady. The very man known for training raptors, but what happens when a man from her past enters her life once more? The only man she has ever loved.

Dr. Henry Wu.

Shocked as Eliza was to see Henry. The feelings she kept pushed down for so long, couldn't help but resurface. Though, what happens when those feelings aren't returned?

"I've changed Eliza, but I'm not the man you fell in love with years ago."

Even though his words cut like a knife. Eliza knew something wasn't right, and it wasn't just Henry she had to worry about.

Then one day, chaos swarmed the island as Wu's new creation broke free from its enclosure.

Watching as innocent people and animals were getting slaughtered in cold blood by the Indominus Rex. Not knowing what to do out of fear, Eliza then realizes that she will have to put faith and hope over fear. Learning that she can navigate, and survive through the stomach turning massacre that was unfolding once again.

Upon doing so. Eliza figures out that not everything is what it seemed to be. That the so-called truths were merely lies to cover up the secrets of Jurassic World.

With everything revealed. Eliza will have to make a difficult choice. Protect Henry's work, or let it all crumble to the ground where the extinct roam.

I hate when people water down masrani as “a guy trying his best” because the real takeaway should be that no matter how much a billionaire may treat others nicely, no billionaire is ever going to be a good person. HE is the one who stopped the evacuation when one of his subordinates tried to call it in. his reasoning is that “we’ve invested too much in it”. it could’ve ended there, but he chose an investment over guaranteed safety.

he may like the dinosaurs, but they’re still profit to him. how else could he be a billionaire? on an individual level, he’s a fine person. he encourages his employees to get out more. but he still wouldn’t value them above an investment because he’ll send a squad of them to their death in an attempt to salvage it. no billionaire can exist without some level of disregard for employees

Jurassic World (2015)

The Jurassic World resort off Costa Rica's coast is home to genetically engineered dinosaurs, including the vicious and intelligent Indominus rex. When the creature escapes, the other dinosaurs run amok. A former military man and animal expert must save two young brothers and the tourists from an all-out prehistoric assault.

If you want to watch the movie for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.

Two dinosaurs are hatching.

Elsewhere, Zach and his brother Gray are going to spend Christmas at Isla Nublar, which has a theme park called Jurassic World.

Zach and Gray arrive at Isla Nublar by ferry. Zara, Claire Dearing's assistant, finds them. Claire is trying to get investors ot back the new attraction, a genetically modified dinosaur called Indominus Rex. Claire sees the boys in the Innovation Center before her next meeting. She promises to meet them for dinner and spend the next day with them. Zara is with the boys.

Claire meets with park owner Simon Masrani. Masrani, who is learning to fly, flies himself and Claire to the new Indominus Rex paddock. Masrani is surprised to learn that the dinosaur is white. Masrani is shocked when Claire says the I-Rex ate its sibling. He is impressed by the new dinosaur. He tells her to let Owen check the paddock for any weak spots the engineers missed.

Owen is a former Navy member who studies the behaviour of Jurassic World's four Velociraptors to help his work. He trains the raptors and is the "alpha" of the pack. Vic Hoskins thinks the raptors could be used for military purposes, which Owen disagrees with.

However, an accident shows the raptors are not tamed and Owen's influence is not complete.

Claire meets Owen at his trailer and asks for his help with the Indominus. Owen agrees to examine the paddock after Claire asks him to.

The animal is missing from the paddock. There is no sign of it. Owen sees claw marks on the wall. The Indominus Rex has escaped by climbing over the wall. Claire rides back to the control room to find the Indominus Rex. Owen, Nick Letting, and Nick Kilgore investigate the clawed wall in the paddock. In the control room, Lowery Cruthers and Vivian Krill see the Indominus Rex is still in the paddock. Owen and the workers try to escpae. The Indominus Rex reappears and eats Kilgore, then breaks through the gate. Owen hides under a vehicle and sprays himself with gasoline to mask his scent. Letting is eaten.

Claire sends the ACU to recapture the Indominus Rex. They're carrying non-lethal weapons because the Indominus Rex is expensive. Owen tells Claire to bring the team back because they don't know what the Indominus Rex is capable of, but she ignores him. The Indominus Rex has removed the tracking implant and ACU Commander Katashi Hamada sees the hybrid too late because it can camouflage itself. Hamada and most of the squad are killed or eaten.

Only a few survive without serious injuries. Claire decides to close all attractions north of the resort. Owen says they should leave the island. She gets a call from her sister, who is upset that she isn't spending time with Zach and Gray.

Zach and Gray left Zara to watch the Mosasaurus feeding show. On the monorail, Gray is upset. Zach asks why. Gray says their parents are getting a divorce. They've been getting mail from two divorce attorneys. Zach tells Gray to grow up. In a couple of years, he'll be leaving their parents anyway. The boys go on the Gyrosphere ride and see many dinosaurs. Zach leaves the fenced area and goes into the forest. They see an Ankylosaurus, but the Indominus Rex attacks them. The Indominus kills an Ankylosaurus as the boys run away and jump over a waterfall to escape.

Claire finds Owen to help her find her nephews. They get to the Gyrosphere and find the Indominus has killed several Apatosauruses without eating them. Owen thinks the hybris is killing for sport. They find the destroyed Gyrosphere. Zach and Gray find the old Jurassic Park Visitor Center, now ruined. They fix an old Jurassic Park jeep and drive it back to the park.

As they leave, Claire and Owen try to start a jeep, but the Indominus Rex attacks.

They escape, but the Indominus persues, distracted by a helicopter. Masrani's helicopter attacks the Indominus with a minigun, but the Indominus doesn't respond. The Indominus breaks through a wall and the pterosaurs escape. Owen and Claire watch the pterosaurus attack Masrani's helicopter and crash it, killing Masrani and the two people on board.

When the boys reach the nothern wall, they see a swarm of pterosaurus following them. Zara finds the two children on Main Street. A Pteranodon grabs her and drops her into the Jurassic World Lagoon. The Mosasaurus eats her, and a Pteranodon. Owen and Claire arrive and start shooting the animals. Owen is attacked by a Dimorphodon, but Claire saves him. They kiss as Zach and Gray arrive and reunite with their aunt.

After Masranis dies, InGen's Private Security Division, led by Vic Hoskins, takes control of the park. Hoskins plans to use the raptors to hunt the Indominus. Owen initially declines, but he agrees when threatened. They release the raptors and follow them into the jungle, where they find the hybrid. The hybrid talks to the raptors, which makes Owen realize she has Velociraptor DNA. The raptors attack the soldiers while the Indominus escapes. Owen finds Charlie, who seems to recognize him, but she is killed by a rocket. The soldiers run away, and Barry hides in a log while Blue tries to eat him. Owen distracts her, and she chases him.

Claire, Zach, and Gray are waiting in a vet vehicle when a soldier is killed by Delta. Echo attacks Claire through the truck window but falls out. Zach and Gray electrocute Delta when she jumps into the truck. Owen reappears, and they go back to the resort while the raptors follow their leader.

The four humans find Hoskins in the genetics lab trying to leave the facility. He says he tricked Masrani into making the Indominus so it could be used as a weapon instead of a theme park attraction. Delta appears and corners Hoskins. Hoskins tries to calm her, but she bites his arm and eats him. The four escape the Innovation Center but are cornered outside by Blue, Delta, and Echo. Owen reconnects with them. When the Indominus arrives, Owen and the raptors attack, but the raptors are killed.

They don't have the "teeth" to defeat the hybrid. So they have one last option: Claire calls Lowery and tells him to open the T-Rex's paddock. She lures the park's old T-Rex, Rexy, into a fight with the Indominus. She has the upper hand, but then she is overpowered and thrown to the ground. But before the Indominus can kill her, Blue attacks, giving the T-Rex time to wake up. The Indominus, unable to fight back, struggles wildly. The T-Rex gets up and bites her neck. The T-Rex and Blue corner the Indominus in front of the Mosasaurus Lagoon. The Mosasaurus drags the Indominus underwater and kills her.

Blue and the T-Rex look at each other, then go on. The group goes to the park visitor area. Zach and Gray are with their parents, while Owen and Claire leave.

On Isla Nublar, the T-Rex roars, claiming the island as hers once again.
