After her talk with Collins, Phoebe felt more ready than ever for prom. It would be the last one before she graduated and she had high hopes of winning Prom Queen. She took time and special care while doing her hair and makeup as her excitement grew every passing minute. And then it was time. Collins pulled up in his mom’s fancy new Toyota Camry. She said goodbye to her mom and quickly made hast out the door before she could respond.

Phoebe was amazed at the change that was made for the Seniors’ Prom. The darker colors and flashy decorations made her feel a bit more mature.

Some of her peers had already made their ways to the dance floor and the music was fast and loud. The energy in the room buzzed through Phoebe as she took everything in.

Collins slipped his hand around Phoebe’s waist as the song changed and a slower song started to play. He leaned down and whispered in her ear:

“Shall we dance?”

Phoebe’s eyes lit up and she dragged him to the dance floor. He, again, grabbed her waist and pulled her in until they were only a few inches apart from each other’s faces.

“Are you nervous for later night?”

Phoebe gave him a puzzled look until she realized he meant winning prom queen.

“Well I’m trying not to think about too much. I don’t want to jinx myself. I’m up against girls like Marianna and Kaori, yanno?”

“Are you implying that they somehow deserve it more?” Collins raised his eyebrow at her.

“No, not at all. It’s just that I just moved here and, while I’ve made some great friends, they’ve been here. Who’s really going to vote for the new girl besides you and Leanna?”

“Hey! I think you’ve made your roots here too. You’ve brought such a light to so many boring lives- including mine. Give yourself some credit.”

She smiled, he gave her a quick peck on the lips, and they continued dancing until the song ended.

And then Principal Maryland walked up to the podium and asked for the crowd’s attention.

“Good evening students. It’s now the time many of you have been waiting for and I won’t prolong any longer. New Dale’s Senior Prom King is… Jaxson Benali!”

Phoebe clapped for her friend as her nerves suddenly became 10x worse.

Principal Maryland cleared her throat before speaking again, “And our Senior Prom Queen is… Phoebe Balderas!”

Phoebe’s breath stopped for a moment…

For another moment she thought maybe she’d heard wrong but Collins hugged her tightly and nudged her towards the stage.

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Step By Step (Tues WeTV & Gaga) ep 8 of 10 - Emotional blackmail from the ex notwithstanding, I guess it’s Pat’s turn to break hearts. I have to say Up was really well cast in this part - extremely believable. Well done all around. Jeng is so smitten, so awkward, so cautious, yet so sharp when it comes to a seme confrontations. I LOVE how sensitive Jeng is to the fact that he has a one-sided crush but also deluded by how much he wants the fantasy of the relationship. The agonizing roller coaster we watch him go through in this ep did a lot of work to elevate and expand his character. (Oh hi Green!) Poor Pat: thinks he’s teasing his straight boss, is actually slow dancing with future husband. Happens to the best of us.

La Pluie (Sat iQIYI) ep 8 of 10 - Don’t kiss someone else. Just argh. Dumb plot divice. I expected better of you LP. Everyone is so overdramatic and overreacting. I wonder if (in addition to all of the other tropes this narrative is scrutinizing) it’s examining bisexual identity through Pat + his ex? Like, this episode is actually about trusting the bisexual to choose his gay lover when he has the so called “option of being normal.” That soulmate is an allegory for gayness & identity & choice (and whether we even have a choice in who we love and are attracted to) and the interplay all of this has with one's own perception of self and other's perception of you… Or am I giving it too much credit? Meanwhile... l flipping adore the love triangle twist, and really wonder if they’re gonna have the guts to take this aspect to its inevitable triangular conclusion. Such a good show.

Be My Favorite (Fri YouTube) ep 4 of 10? - Screw all y’all, I’m eloping with Pair & Max. We forming a thrupple and pretending Jittirain doesn’t exist. Trash watch here.

Luminous Solution (Sat Gaga) ep 4 of 6 - I love the high school boys so much it’s scary: flirting, biting, frankness, roughhousing + lap sitting! Also messy high school gay triangle. Gah. All of this for little-old me?! I was mad every time we jumped forward in time (to the adults) or whatever the hell is going on. Thank goodness this is only 6 eps.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Love Tractor (Korea Weds iQIYI) eps 3-4 of 8 - I LOVE IT SO MUCH. IT IS EVERYTHING. SHUT UP I AM FERRIL FOR THE BEAUTIFUL CITY BOY & HIS YOUNG FARMER. Come on. Korea. Have mercy? Plus some language play? Slayed. Right... the episode; This show reminds me so much of a Korean style Restart After Come Back Home. I’m not even slightly mad about it. It’s the BL I didn’t even know to ask for. Soap opera tumble and baby in hospital is SUCH a princess moment and I am living for it. Although the reversal is even cuter, princess turns out to be a caring tsundere Dom. And then obligatory water-hose frolicking! Oh, stop, you. (Allegory much? i being to think hose spraying is just another way of BL saying... well... hose spraying) AND “there is only one bed but they slept together on the floor together anyway”. These boys are hitting all my favorite tropes. BL please never lose your sense of childish wonder. And... the hose spraying is nice too.

Tokyo in April AKA Shigatsu no Tokyo wa (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 1 of 8 - Based on a NSFW yaoi, this is a reunion romance that takes place in an office. Look, this is a weird little 2nd chance at love that reminds me a bit of Our Dating Sim. But it’s more traditional yaoi office romance with evil boss and inter-departmental politics. The leads are cute childhood (almost) sweethearts and I adore it unreasonably already.

Vian the series (Vietnam YouTube ) ep 6 of 12 - Vertical video prod is stupid. I’m sorry young people. Stop it. BUT the cuddling is cute. Christ BV can kiss. Is there anyone he doesn’t have amazing chemistry with? Oh the sunshade trope I haven’t seen that one in forever. Also clearly his character has a type, and that type = ultra-bitch.

Stupid Genius (Vietnam Fri YouTube) ep 2 of 6 - It’s fine.

Naked Dinner AKA Zenra Meshi (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 9 of 12 - Oh dear. Baby is hurt and rejected. Faen fatal knows her competition is a boy, she also knows what jealousy looks like. But this baby has his own boy. This is all feeling rather Thai BL. There’s even an ep 11 of DOOM coming up next.

House of Stars (Thai Mon iQIYI) 12 eps - I bounced at ep 3. Will binge if told it is worth it at end.

Stay (Pinoy YouTube) 7 eps - It’s mostly in English and set in LA so I’m not bothering but the first one did drop.

Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari no Hajimari no Asa (Japan Sun ????) 10 eps - NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS and no, I have no idea where to get it, why would I? (Say it with me everyone: Oh Japan, must you?*)

Boys Love Omegaverse (Japan ????) - honestly tho? Who tf cares? You’ll still tell me if you find it, because inquiring minds... Irony of this airing at the same time as Takumi-kun. Full circle much, Japan?

Ended This Week

Tin Tem Jai special showed up on Gaga as ep 11 & 12 under the original show. (Indebted to spies reporting in.) Also on YouTube. What was that I just watched? Did I watch something? Was there anything? I suppose the bathtub scene was cute. Subs are bonkers. Seriously. Do. Not. Bother.

Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku (Japan) - pay attention TTJ THIS is how you do a special. But I’m gonna do a series review, here ya go: I was always gonna love the show if they stuck to the manga (which is very dear to my heart). And they did, paralleling it almost exactly. It’s a quiet & cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me with the best of what Japan can do (like Restart After Come Back Home), it’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, it’s OK with me, but not totally BL. 9/10

anyway. ancient blue bird bobblehead lps moment because that was highly likely the first lps i ever got that got me into a fucking craze for these bitches from approximately 6-14yo

one of the first songs i discovered on The Famed Box Windows XP Computer was beyoncé's halo on youtube and it was thanks to a littlest pet shop amv

for some reason it was just accepted that miniature caterpillars in the lpsverse were like pet dogs or cats to the actual animals. even though it'd have made more sense for them to be babies to butterflies

this? this is a dog.

back when youtube (or some 3rd party) had Old Editing Software, people would show off their lps collections by making a geometry hell powerpoint presentation, royalty free music included, like this. this was the absolute shit and objectively the most perfect way to show off your collection in the 2000s. no exceptions. it's got the shitty dreamscape 009 amv vibe to it and i love it

the first taste of lps videos i got was sophiegtv's summer camp. the original one. in which some kids go to summer camp and get mauled and killed by a ginormous dinosaur in the forest that's made out of empty toilet paper rolls. or alternatively investigation of murders in lps csi. or high school drama and bloody stabbings in lps popular. sophiegtv was the pinnacle of this shit in 2009-2011 and will probably remain an lps legend for eternity. to me at least :)

alongside sophiegtv there were others that i enjoyed like elizalps, who'd make series and amvs and whatever lps related. like a haunted house video. or a hair salon video that i can't fucking find anymore. or a lps vip video where a cat tells a dog to kill themselves somewhere else. OH FUCK AND LPSLOVER WITH STRANGE HAPPENINGS. THAT WAS THE SHIT. and that's it because i literally don't remember anyone else because my memory is also absolute dog shit <3

i found it so fucking cool when people would make their own little props for their littlest pet shop videos. so little old me would make a house out of shitty carton for them. cut out a little rectangle and fold it in half, draw some shitty squares on it and bam you've just given an lps animal the ability to tweet useless garbage on a laptop.

the only time wikihow got their guide 100% accurate and totally right

i remember getting a closet with glass doors so i could organise and showcase my lps in it one by one by species. it was like a professional collection so i could look at them in the windows and go :) smile time! and also so they wouldn't dust off and die in the darkness of a closed box. now i'm an adult and i want a glass showcase like this for my gundams. thanks lps for teaching me this sick life trick when i was 9

one time i poured a bath for my lps toys and threw them in it so they'd have a pool party. big mistake because the mechanism that keeps their head & body together would get disgusting residue on it. and it'd make the heads bobble less. the result is a small child decapitating toy animals to clean this residue and the leftover water sloshing in their heads. anatomy below so no one else has to do such monstrous things ever again

becoming a teen and deciding 'the shit i liked as a kid is cringe now' was the worst time of my life because i sold about ~70% of my collection for ~30 bucks at a fucking flea market. to get funds for sims 4. i didn't even play sims 4 when i got it. the first time i touched it was in 2017. why did i do that. THIS IS THE TRIGGER FOR MY UNCOMMON UNSETTLING DREAMS ABOUT GOING TO THE TOY STORE, AND FINDING AN EXTREMELY LITTLE, OR NO LPS SECTION AT ALL, YOU FUCKING DUMB ASS

the littlest pet shop biggest house was like THE. fucking shit. you had this and you had every bitch playing at your house with this playset. you were like the lps god. one thing i particularly loved about this, was the satisfying feeling and sound of opening and closing the green door. the click. loved that door. just like the old minecraft door sound. (a short in-bracket realisation that the occurrence of me liking a particular door click noise has happened twice in my life, and for that i get two pennies)

speaking about noises. the bobbling head noise and the tip tapping of lps on particular surfaces like the wooden floor? that was fucking lit and was basically an 8yo's girl's sound therapy asmr or whatever. coming home with a new package and shredding it the fuck open and immediately bobbling the head like you're a scientist researching the bobbliness of each pet

a small section shoutout here about going to the toy store and running to the lps section and the lps section only because that was like. the only toy i cared about as a kid. the smell of the toy store hitting your nostrils. it was like smelling food and being hungry

giving particular lps to me was a mistake, especially if they had fuzzy fur, extremely frail tails or hair on their head. because 1) fuzzy coats would be scratched off by me like they were a skin disease. even though fuzzy coats were cool. why. 2) frail tails would get broken off either by accident or on purpose, like i was mutilating these poor animals to my horrible human standards like some breeders out there. 3) hair would get snipped off. so they'd have stumpy hair. why? fuck if i know

this? if you looked like this in 2008. god help your tail, for you're about to get mutilated and get a butt stump

building on the previous point, some lps also got 'fashion makeovers' by receiving pen markings or a glittery glossy nail polish coat because. i don't even know. why did i do that actually. is it because i had a need to brush the hair of a barbie and didn't have a barbie at the time. who knows! all i know is that putting barbie cowboy shoes on your fingers and prancing around with them like your hand's a fashion model was also the shit to do as a kid (this behaviour was later replaced by placing bugles and acting like they're sharp evil witch nails)

in what was apparently gen 2, hasbro started putting lps in little boxes because they had to categorise and put labels on them like ''cuddliest'' and ''cutest'' (uh oh syrinq's entering dangerous wording territory). anyway here's my tier list

at some point hasbro pulled a webkinz and also had plushies made with a code for a virtual world. their first attempt was lps vips and i was so overjoyed that lps were now in soft cuddly plushie form because the one other thing i loved collecting were plushies. when that discontinued they tried again with lpso (lps online). then that ALSO discontinued because for some fucking cursed reason online pet games like this and pet party, and happy petz, and kawaii pet megu, and fish with attitude and whatever fuck else existed, got mother fucking evaporated at some point. fuck you. anyway meet my pink cat lps whose name was little candy in dutch (snoepje)

the littlest pet shop pc game was fucking life changing. it was like the lps webkinz thing before the webkinz thing came out. dressing up your little animals. running around as your little animals. putting them on a swing and playing minigames it was so fucking awesome

throughout the years hasbro made some design changes. some for safety hazards, like replacing the foot magnet by a hole, which i was actually fine with. eventually. what i wasn't fine with and still think is bullshit to this day *cracks knuckles* (ohh! a list within a list!)

1. changing the pink magnet to be regular iron. production costs i guess but fuck you the pink magnet with the little paw on it was the fucking shit

2. removing the 'eye' part of the model and making them flat paintings instead. who the hell decided this. i'm coming to fucking get you and murder you. luckily this was a temporary thing for some lps things back in the day and soon enough the eyes were back on the model :)

3. (oh yeah it's still continuing!) BLYTHE. THE FUCKING WENCH. I NEVER LIKED THAT GIRL AND I NEVER WILL. it's like the person you hate for no reason other than you just do. blythe was this. it's about animals living their sillay little lives you don't get to put them on a leash. slut.

4. whatever the lps blythe tv show was. this was the horrible start of the lps rebrand and I Was Not A Fan And I Never Will Be. Fuck Blythe And Fuck You Hasbro

5. whatever remodeling shit they did to littlest pet shop in i don't fucking know 2020. the bobble head feature removed. the heads made even bigger in comparison to the bodies. yassifying the lps but in the most horrible way ever.

6. whoever changed the logo. i'm also coming to fucking get you. horrible fucking horrendous monster. it could've been way worse but still. i'm still coming to fucking GET YOU

also during this post i ctrl+z'd several times resulting in tumblr absolutely killing the entire post so i had to rewrite it like 4 times. because i'm a dumbass and kept forgetting that ctrl+z would kill the entire post on tumblr only. anyway before this i shortly learned that generation 6, the arguably ''better new'' lps remodeling, was from fucking 2017. what the hell. anyway hasbro is remaking lps for 2024 and i'll be fucking getting them and burning down their HQ if they redo it like generation 4-6. bobblehead supremacy

also there were special edition littlest pet shops that. i don't know. were released with special things at cons or whatever. like the platypus below. living in holland was a fucking curse in the 2000s-2010s because back then nobody fucking knew what a holland was. let alone the netherlands because it sounds like an alternative version of hell. so yeah little old me had to order these online like i was a business kid cutting sick deals

similar to dedicated beanie baby fans, littlest pet shop also had a fan-made website made with a database of all teh animals XD. thank god this exists because i'm too lazy at the moment to find my box with the remaining ~30% of my lps collection

also. custom lps were a thing. the most epic ones were i don't know sold for hundreds on ebay. anyway the only custom lps one i got is a cheap ass deadpool cat one because deadpool is funny and about the only funny marvel character left in the mcu

Meet The Mezas (Scenario turned LP)

This legacy originated in "Parenting Predicaments" on The Sims 4, featuring the Martinez family with Sofia and her brother as the initial generation. Sofia, evolving into the matriarch, met Howard Aoki, a lawyer turned author, during college. They relocated to Del Sol Valley, with their three children: Londyn, Howard Jr., and Ciara, in tow.

As the first child, Londyn assumed the role of the second-generation heiress. Due to her spectacular grades in school, she was invited to graduate high school early and therefore, start college. Although her parents covered her tuition, they encouraged her to gain work experience for curation g a diverse resume. Struggling to secure a job at 16, Sofia turned to being a Micro-Simfluencer for some spending money. While pursuing a Fine Arts major at the University of Britechester, Sofia rekindled connections with a family friend, Kody Edge.

Kody and Londyn's relationship deepened as they started dating and eventually they decided to move in together off-campus. As graduation approached, they sent out resumes to corporations. A few weeks before graduation, Kody was presented with a life-changing opportunity – the chance to become a Marine Biologist in the enchanting islands of Sulani. Despite the excitement, he whether or not Londyn was prepared to leave Britechester and be far from her Del Sol Valley-based parents. Facing a tough decision, Kody contemplated the possibility of moving together or navigating a long-distance relationship.

Fortunately, Londyn eagerly embraced the move to Sulani, immediately said yes! Though her parents weren't thrilled about her leaving, they knew Kody's family, so they wished her luck and made her promise to visit during holidays.

Their life in Sulani was like living in paradise. They secured a charming two-bedroom bungalow by the water, even though the second bedroom turned out to be too small for a bed.

When the holidays arrived, as promised, Londyn and Kody returned home for a visit. They had dinner at Londyn's parent's house, where, unexpectedly, Londyn had to leave early due to feeling unwell. Kody decided to stay behind and catch up with everyone. As everyone turned in for the night, Sofia and Kody stayed up, sharing laughs and a few drinks. In an unexpected twist, a fleeting romantic scene unfolded between Sofia and Kody. Soon after, Kody regained his senses and headed back to the hotel.

After weeks of hesitation, Kody finally gathered the courage to confess to Londyn about what happened with her mom. The revelation came when Londyn shared her parents' plans to visit. While enraged, Londyn considered kicking him out but realized financial constraints made that challenging. Instead, she booked a flight to return to her parent's house to confront her mother. Londyn hoped her mom would come clean to her dad about the cheating, as she didn't want to be the bearer of that painful truth.

When she arrived, she planned on immediately confronting her mom. Sofia opened the door for Londyn and apologized. Howard was still at work so the two of them talked. Londyn couldn't stand to look at her mother now that she had to accept the painful truth of what happened. She told her mom she'd stay with them for a while so she could figure out her next moves.

Londyn thought about forgiving Kody, but how was she supposed to move forward knowing their attraction to each other. The biggest question that loomed was: What if it happened again?

Londyn booked a flight to return to Sulani in order to collect her belongings while maintaining weeks of silence with Kody. The day before her departure, Kody called, revealing that he found a nearby place and was in the mddle of moving. He informed her that he had covered the rent for the next few months, ensuring she had a place to stay. Assuring Londyn that he would vacate the house by the time she landed, he aimed to make this a smooth transition for both of them.

Londyn found a sense of relief in the following months as she applied to various jobs and continued her Simfluencer work. Incorporating her expertise in interior design and sharing her innate design sense in videos, her channel gained traction and went viral. Islanders began reaching out, seeking Londyn's guidance for home investments. Gradually, she carved out a name for herself, tripling her earnings. Now, she could independently sustain the bungalow without relying on Kody or her parents for financial support.

Finally feeling free to explore after so much time with her head down and focused on work, she took a flight to San Myshuno to meet up with her college friends, Naomi and Yasmin. The girls took her to a new spot in town to have a few drinks and enjoy some live music. The three of them grabbed a table and ordered their drinks. The lights started to dim as a performer made their way to the stage. He sits down at the piano and introduces himself to the audience, Ronen Meza. Before he begins to play, he says the piece is dedicated to his soulmate, wherever she was.

As Ronen started to play, she was locked in on him. His voice and the melody of the piano synced together and touched her so deeply that she actually shed a tear. She didn't understand why she was getting emotional. The whole time Ronen played, his face was hidden by a veil of shadow. Londyn couldn't make out his face, all she could see was the soft glimmer of the light shining on his hair and his back turned slightly. When he stopped playing, the lights came back on and he stood up to thank the audience, waving in each direction of the room. As he turned his gaze to the right, he saw Londyn standing and clapping.

They locked eyes and he mouthed, "Thank you". Ronen proceeded to exit the stage and went backstage.

Londyn needed to meet him. She told the girls she would be back. They already knew she was going to try to meet him and told her to try to get backstage. Of course, there was security in the way. The security guard told her she wasn't allowed back there and no, they would not make an exception for her. As she turned to walk back to her table from her failed mission, Ronen was standing behind her. She hadn't heard her friends trying to get her attention since the lounge decided to play music in the intermission between performers.

Londyn introduced herself to him. He asked how she liked the performance. She said she loved it and was completely moved by the melody.

"I guess the song was for you", Ronen said with a smirk.

Londyn blushed. "Are you saying I'm your soulmate?"

"Only one way to find out. Why don't I buy you a drink and we can get to know each other better".

Londyn looked over at her friends and signaled that she'd be heading to the bar on the other side of the room. Ronen asked Londyn what she'd like to drink. "Rum and coke", she replied.

"Fine choice... Let me get two rum and cokes?", Ronen says to the bartender.

Ronen and Londyn enjoyed their drinks, talked about their career paths, and exchanged stories of their upbringings. Ronen had been trying to make it as a performer in San Myshuno for the last three years, seeking a record deal. In the meantime, he performed in lounges or on the streets, especially in the Spice District and Uptown because they tipped well. He'd perform at the various festivals around town. He asked her if she lived around here and she told him she was only in San Myshuno for a couple more days before she headed back to her home in Sulani. Right there and then, Ronen knew she was the one. "Are you serious? I'm from Sulani! Born and raised-- my folks still live out there! I haven't been home since I came out here."

"Now, you have another reason to come to Sulani.", Londyn says as she gives him a flirtatious look.

"I definitely do. I'll have to book my flight soon before you forget about me."

"I'll be waiting. Here's my number. Give me a call when you're in town."

"For sure. Listen, it's been great connecting with you. I've got another gig in Uptown I have to get to. Let me give you my number, too. I'd love to talk to you before you leave."

Ronen called her the next morning telling her how amazing it was to meet her and letting her know he really did book his tickets. The next morning, Londyn headed to the airport and texted Ronen until it was time to board. "Get there safely, beautiful" he texted her as they signed off.

When Ronen arrived in Sulani, he called Londyn to see if they could catch up so he could show her his favorite spots, the places only locals know about. Even though he was staying with his parents for the time he had in Sulani, he spent half of his time with Londyn. They fell for each other HARD.

It'd been a year now of long-distance talking, and quarterly weekend meet-ups. Ronen finally landed a record deal, and Londyn was assisting a well-known and sought-after designer of a large firm. Both of their careers were thriving.

One day, there was a knock on Londyn's door. It was Kody. He wanted to try and work things out. Londyn told him even though she still had love for him, she couldn't be with him. Plus, she'd started seeing someone. He was obviously hurt and a bit jealous.

"Well, I hope he treats you better than I did." and he was gone.

Ronen called a few days later to let Londyn know he was planning to fly out next week.

"Would it be weird if I wanted you to move in with me?", Londyn blurts out.

"Nah, not at all. I'd been wondering for a while if I should ask you to move in with me, but I do have a roommate and that'd be a little awkward."

When Ronen arrived the next week, he'd brought extra bags with most of his belongings. He'd have to make another trip to San Myshuno to get the rest of his things and to sign papers to remove his name from the lease.

And with that move, started the beginning of Meet The Mezas.
