How to make a stencil for your patches

⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

You will need:

Sponge

Watercolour paper / card

Art knife / boxcutter

Acrylic paint

Fabric

1. Find what you want to make into a patch. It's best if you can find a black and white image of what you want (or just draw it), whatevers in white should be able to support itself when you get rid of the negative space.

2. Print and use the edge of a pencil to shade the back of the image, it should look a bit tike this.

3. Flip around and use masking tape to stick it to card or watercolour paper, then use a blunt pencil to trace around your image. You should be left with a faded outline of what you want on the card underneath.

4. Use an art knife or box cutter to carve out all the negative space

5. Finally used a sponge and some acrylic paint and dab it over the stencil onto your fabric. I ironed the fabric I used beforehand so it was flatter and easier to print on

Anyway Ive struggled finding ways to print that work for me so I hope this works for other ppl

Fic-to-Art #35: Sokka leads the charge into Ba Sing Se

Here's my monthly artwork! The prompt this time was a scene that excited the readers quite a bit, and it seems that Sokka's big campaign on Ba Sing Se was the idea everyone liked best! This isn't really the best rendition I could've hoped to do, but unfortunately time constraints didn't allow me to go much further. Hope it's good enough like this anyway!

I still don't particularly thrive in drawing animals, but we needed Foo-Foo in this artwork, haha. I hope he looks as cool as he should! As for Sokka and his cool helmet, I'm sorry, I have a hopeless case of forgetting-the-helmet-itis so I never seem to recall to put it on his head. Oops :'D

Anyway! I'm not even sure what else to say, haha. Hope you guys like some epic Sokka!

Lucy: “Spying on us again? You should get a different hobby. Anyway, what do I care? We were on a case.”

Skull: “Ooh, I smell something burning….Wait, wait, it’s your pants! Your pants are on fire, you massive liar! You so weren’t on a case!”

- This! I am not a native speaker, so I didn't know there was this saying 'liar liar pants of fire', so my first impression was he was literally - or rather metaphorically - referring to her pants! I mean, he says he smells her pants being on fire because of developments with Lockwood. Her PANTS being ON FIRE! How bloody inadequate AND hilarious is this??
