This one I would give four stars ✨ to, especially after having some time to think on it. I really enjoyed the relationships both romantic and friendship wise all throughout this story. I’m not quite sure I would put this in my reread pile without a nudge but I will admit I truly enjoyed my time reading it.

"Oh, just...leave me alone, you brute!" she hissed, picking up the nearest object she had, which was, unfortunately, a book. She wound her arm back and hurled it at him, hitting him square in the face before he could stop it.

When the book fell, he didn't even look mad, just surprised. "Do that again," he insisted, looking at her with his head cocked to one side, like he was a confused dog.

It had felt good to get a bit of her anger out so Hermione summoned the book and hurled it at him again. This time, when the book made contact, his nose was bleeding, but he didn't seem to mind one bit.

"Well, Merlin's staff!" he said, pulling out the chair across the table from her. "What's your name?"

"Hermione Granger," she replied, tersely, wondering just what had put him in such a good mood all of sudden. Maybe he had a concussion?

"You're the mud- muggleborn. Sorry," he said, noticing her level glare. "That's a Chaser's arm you've got there," he complimented.

"Chaser?" she asked, feeling confused.

"Yeah, Chaser. Like Quidditch? Have you played before?" he asked, figuring that she probably hadn't, being a muggleborn and all. "How did you get so good at throwing things?"

As a first year, Hermione is sorted into Slytherin. Hogwarts is horrible for her at first, until a chance meeting in the library with Slytherin chaser, Marcus Flint. After seeing her arm, Marcus takes her under his wing, determined to have the best players for Slytherin's Quidditch squad, muggleborn or not.

Getting the urge to write a canon rewrite with Muggleborn Ron and Pureblood Slytherin Hermione with Romione endgame because I’m shocked nobody has written this yet but I already have four long ass WIPS to finish and I’m a slow writer who spends too much time on tumblr and reading other peoples fics and I have I huge backlog of fics I want to read and I barely have any time to write fanfic and I have a ton of homework I need to finish and my allergies are acting up and I’m bad at grammar

Been lately on a Harry Potter fanfic binge, can't stop it only add to it, anyway

Hermione gets sorted into Slytherin, Draco into Hufflepuff

Chaos ensues when both are completely done with their (not for long) houses and as such join forces (with great effort and lots of mutual disdain) to get a resorting. (Of course for various reasons, Draco not fancying possible disownment - the faint memory of whispers about previous cases in his family giving him shudders - while Hermione got the memo immediately, mugglborn really not welcome, halfbloods already seeming to struggle, got it on the first day, hard not to see shit thrown into your face, got enough experience as a black person back in primary school). Anyway. Lots of bargaining, grumbling, school start and break downs (more on Draco's side, tis little drama queen and not writing letters - he ain't that crazy to break news to his parents cough father cough before resorting -, Hermione taking on a more seething cold rage befitting an scorned 11 year old)

Somehow this translates into near herculean effort put into academics making them the best of the best for the year (well half year, the resorting a work in progress) since veeeery long ("Ya sure they shouldn't have been sorted into ravenclaw" cue in dirty look from Draco). Also as last ditch attempt they try to poison the hat (charms don't work on hat) to get him manipulated enough for him to resort them into their proper houses (ravenclaw and slytherin) so later they can feign ignorance about how the hat must have made a mistake

Bonus: Draco murderous lil badger/duckling/snakeling on quidditch field with Cedric trying for head ruffles

Hermione working through her anger in being put in this shithole without options of transfer getting into very (passive) aggressive intellectual trade offs over boiling cauldron with Professor (mutters incompetent, can't get her resort out of racist snake pit) Snape

(surprisingly no bashing, everyone alive for more chaos, but fear not, Snape despairing and close to heart attack over Hermione's poison attempts on hat, Lily cackling over her besties karma "Hey, you were the one grumbling over the lack of promising students, see now you have one very bright Slytherin to teach")

Hi Anon!

This is a lovely message. Not pushy at all! Ecdysis is on my mind constantly. I really want to update it soon. I don’t have a date yet. All I can say is that the next chap is almost fully drafted and I’ve been developing the next bits in my head, which usually means they’ll be put down in writing soon.

As always, I promise it’s not abandoned. This is just how I am and have always been with long stories. I finish them eventually but it’s just up to the creative demon inside to decide it’s time. Fall is coming. Dark academia vibes are particularly yummy during this time, so I think it will make a comeback soon.

Slytherin Ron and Slytherin Hermione AU.

Hermione and Ron were at first not friends since they didn’t make a good impression with each other from the beginning but later on their friendship blossom.

Hermione is a bit cold since she was bullied terribly in the past but she began to soften up a bit when she got close to Ron and Harry.

Ron gets bullied from Malfoy and the rest since he’s a blood traitor and a Weasley at that. Ron would be defended by Hermione whenever he gets picked on. That was the turning point for the two to become acquainted with each other.

They are known as the silver duo in Slytherin. Hermione and Ron got each other’s back and Harry’s as well. The two is loyal to Harry and he is to them too.

Ron is ambitious and strategically intelligent while Hermione is smart and cunning.
