thoughts about RFK launching a autism registry?
WAT!!!!
You guys always can find something insane that I've missed it seems.
The federal government's purported plan to track Americans who have autism, which social media users have referred to as an "autism registry," has been heavily criticized.
On Tuesday, CBS News reported that the National Institutes of Health—a body within the Department of Health and Human Services, which is headed by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.—was overseeing the launch of a registry to measure Americans with autism amid a wider plan to collect patient data for autism research.
Newsweek was not able to independently verify CBS News' reporting and has contacted the NIH for comment.
Why It Matters
Autism is on the rise. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2022, 1 in 31 children had been identified with autism spectrum disorder. In 2000, 1 in 150 children were diagnosed with autism.
Kennedy has repeatedly spoken about an "autism epidemic" in the U.S., saying the rising number of diagnoses was due to environmental rather than genetic factors—a claim that researchers and advocacy groups dispute.
The health secretary also hired David Geier, a figure previously criticized for treating autistic children with puberty-blocking drugs, to lead a federal study on the causes of autism. _________________________________
There's going to be so many people comparing this to nazi germany, already is I bet. Gonna have to wear a puzzle piece on your shirt.
This is not something that should be remotely mandatory, if people want to sign up to provide data they can do that, but I don't like having it land on everyone, it's creepy and invasive.
As for the numbers, diagnosis is getting easier, that's gonna explain that bit, partly at least.
From what I'm seeing here I don't like this.
rest of the article is under the cut here
What To Know
Critics of the reported plan to collect Americans' private medical records to give to researchers working on Kennedy's study have reacted in anger.
One user on X, formerly Twitter wrote: "This isn't about health. This is about control. It's about fear. It's about marking people. People like me. Neurodivergent people."
According to CBS, citing NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, data from medication records held by pharmacy chains, private insurer claims and smartwatches would be linked for the Health Department's autism study.
The study would also use patient data collected by the Department of Veterans Affairs and Indian Health Service. Bhattacharya said people's confidentiality would be protected.
CBS News reported that a registry to track Americans with autism would be integrated into the data.
Fred Guttenberg, a gun violence prevention activist, wrote on X that the policy was "designed to hurt people."
Richard Angwin, an X user with more than 190,000 followers, wrote: "RFK Jr.'s autism registry is a chilling overreach, tracking private medical data without consent violates HIPAA and echoes eugenics. It's not about health; it's about control. Stop this now."
What People Are Saying
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a statement on April 15: "The autism epidemic has now reached a scale unprecedented in human history because it affects the young. The risks and costs of this crisis are a thousand times more threatening to our country than COVID-19. Autism is preventable and it is unforgivable that we have not yet identified the underlying causes. We should have had these answers 20 years ago."
Jay Bhattacharya, the director of the National Institutes of Health, told advisers during a presentation Monday: "The idea of the platform is that the existing data resources are often fragmented and difficult to obtain. The NIH itself will often pay multiple times for the same data resource. Even data resources that are within the federal government are difficult to obtain."
What Happens Next
Kennedy has said the Health Department will know the cause of autism by September.

Cell Watch
A smartwatch wraps around your wrist to measure your heart rate and count your steps. Now there’s a device that could do the same for your individual cells. The flexible material (red) can snugly wrap around neurons (brain and nervous system cells, blue), monitoring and even altering the electrical and metabolic activity within. They gently snap into place, like the ‘slap bracelets’ 90s kids may remember, when activated by light, which can be shone through the body allowing entirely non-invasive positioning. This flexibility allows the wearables to conform to the many different shapes neurons take, and once in place they could help prevent neuron degradation and even compensate for the lost insulation that comes with conditions such as multiple sclerosis. The technology could eventually be used to integrate with other materials in tiny circuits that could measure and modulate individual cells, taking activity tracking to a new level.

How Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Can Help People with Borderline Personality Disorder Prevent Emotional Episodes
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a complex mental health condition characterized by emotional instability, impulsive behaviors, and a heightened sensitivity to stress and rejection. For those living with BPD, emotional episodes can be overwhelming and unpredictable, often leading to difficulties in relationships, work, and daily functioning. Traditionally, therapeutic approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) have been central to managing BPD, but recent advancements in technology—specifically in understanding Heart Rate Variability (HRV)—offer a new way to anticipate and potentially prevent emotional episodes before they escalate.
What is HRV?
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) refers to the variation in time between consecutive heartbeats, which is regulated by the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Unlike a steady heartbeat, a healthy heart does not beat uniformly; it adjusts to our emotions, physical activities, stress levels, and overall well-being. HRV is a critical indicator of how well the body responds to stress, with higher HRV generally signifying better stress resilience and emotional regulation.
For individuals with BPD, who often experience intense and rapid emotional fluctuations, HRV data provides a real-time window into their emotional state. By tracking HRV, it’s possible to identify physiological markers that precede emotional episodes, allowing for timely intervention.
The Connection Between HRV and Emotional Regulation
People with BPD are known to have heightened emotional sensitivity, often reacting more intensely to stressors compared to others. This intense emotional response can be linked to how the body’s sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) nervous systems function. HRV serves as a valuable marker because it reflects the balance between these two systems. A decrease in HRV usually correlates with increased stress, anxiety, or emotional dysregulation.
HRV can serve as an early warning system, detecting changes in emotional arousal and stress levels before they manifest behaviorally. Monitoring HRV allows individuals to identify patterns in their emotional responses, enabling them to intervene proactively.
How HRV Monitoring Works for BPD Management
1. Daily HRV Tracking: Wearable devices like smartwatches or chest straps can track HRV throughout the day. These devices collect real-time data, allowing individuals to continuously monitor their body’s stress responses.
2. Pattern Recognition: Over time, HRV tracking can reveal patterns in emotional regulation. For example, individuals may notice that their HRV consistently drops during particular times of the day, social situations, or after certain activities—indicating an increased likelihood of an emotional episode.
3. Trigger Identification: HRV data can help pinpoint specific triggers that lead to emotional dysregulation. This allows individuals to avoid or prepare for high-risk scenarios, such as confronting emotionally charged conversations or overwhelming social situations.
Preventing Emotional Episodes Using HRV Data
By integrating HRV monitoring with tailored interventions, people with BPD can reduce the frequency and intensity of emotional episodes. Here are some ways HRV can be used to prevent episodes:
1. Real-Time Alerts & Notifications
• HRV-monitoring apps can send real-time alerts when a user’s HRV drops to levels associated with increased emotional stress. These notifications act as gentle reminders to check in with themselves and use grounding techniques before emotions escalate.
2. Breathing and Relaxation Techniques
• Deep breathing, mindfulness, and progressive muscle relaxation are proven methods for improving HRV and stabilizing the autonomic nervous system. If an HRV alert suggests rising stress, users can engage in quick, in-app breathing exercises that target HRV balance, promoting a calm, regulated state.
3. Self-Monitoring & Reflection
• Regularly reviewing HRV trends and reflecting on emotional patterns helps individuals with BPD develop a deeper understanding of their triggers. Self-awareness is crucial for emotional regulation, and HRV data provides concrete evidence of what is happening physiologically during emotional fluctuations.
4. Proactive Self-Care Strategies
• HRV can help users create personalized self-care routines. For example, if HRV trends show a pattern of emotional dysregulation in the afternoon, individuals might schedule relaxing activities like a short walk, meditation, or a sensory break to maintain emotional stability.
5. Structured Crisis Plans
• For those with BPD, having a pre-prepared crisis plan is essential. HRV monitoring can play a significant role by prompting users to implement their crisis plan early, before emotions spiral. These plans might involve calling a friend, practicing grounding exercises, or using DBT skills like opposite action or distress tolerance techniques.
Scientific Evidence Supporting HRV for Emotional Regulation
Several studies have demonstrated the connection between HRV and emotional well-being. For example, research has shown that higher HRV is linked to better emotional regulation, increased resilience to stress, and a lower likelihood of anxiety and depressive symptoms. Individuals with low HRV often have difficulties managing stress and tend to experience more intense negative emotions. This makes HRV a powerful biofeedback tool for those with BPD.
A study published in Frontiers in Psychology highlighted that HRV biofeedback training improved emotional stability and reduced emotional reactivity in individuals with emotional dysregulation disorders, such as BPD. Participants who monitored their HRV and received feedback on stress levels were able to manage their emotions more effectively, demonstrating fewer episodes of intense emotional distress.
Practical Application: HRV and DBT
Combining HRV data with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—a widely used treatment for BPD—can be particularly effective. DBT focuses on building skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Here’s how HRV can integrate with DBT:
• Mindfulness: HRV monitoring can help users stay aware of their physiological state, encouraging them to practice mindfulness when stress indicators are high.
• Distress Tolerance: HRV can be used as a biofeedback tool to engage in distress tolerance techniques when emotional episodes are predicted.
• Emotion Regulation: HRV data empowers users to track their emotional patterns, facilitating better regulation and understanding of their emotional triggers.
• Interpersonal Effectiveness: Real-time HRV monitoring during stressful social interactions can guide individuals to engage in effective communication before emotions overwhelm them.
The Future of HRV Monitoring in BPD Treatment
As wearable technology and AI-driven apps advance, HRV monitoring can become a routine part of BPD management. A future app like “BPD Buddy” could integrate HRV tracking with personalized interventions, offering data-driven insights tailored to each user’s unique emotional landscape. This combination of technology and psychology has the potential to bridge the gap between therapy sessions and daily life, providing real-time support when it’s needed most.
Moreover, by helping individuals recognize the physical manifestations of emotional stress, HRV can reduce the stigma and self-blame often associated with BPD. It moves away from viewing emotions as purely mental phenomena, acknowledging the body’s role in emotional regulation and offering tangible ways to regain control.
Heart Rate Variability offers a promising approach to understanding and managing the intense emotional experiences of individuals with BPD. By providing a physiological window into emotional states, HRV empowers users to anticipate and prevent emotional episodes before they fully unfold. Combined with traditional therapeutic techniques like DBT, HRV monitoring can revolutionize how we approach BPD, creating a more proactive, compassionate, and data-driven path to emotional stability. As technology continues to evolve, the potential for HRV-driven tools to enhance mental health care will only grow, offering hope and support to those navigating the complexities of BPD.

I have private brain rot about Modern!Blood Countess/Real Housewives. Here are some thoughts/images I have to live with that I need to inflict on people:
Ez driving and living in a van. Bonus points for her picking up Theo and the Vallikicule on her way home from dress rehearsals for Rictavio's Carnival of Wonders
Lucian trying to teach Theo to drive his mini van and shoving the responsibility on Listerine when they make fun
Izek Strazni in his cop cruiser and uniform. He looks so stupid, y'all.
Fiona trying to recommend a good divorce lawyer to Lydia. It's a queer-coded af suggestion and very unreciprocated, but Lydia still takes the card and swears she'll consider it
Nikolai Wachter breaking in to the Vallaki hospital or county courthouse to find Elizaveta's medical records, trying to find out what they listed her cause of death. Karl is along for the shits and giggles.
Victor being offered a full ride to Immol University but having to "settle for" Vallaki Community College because his parents don't want him out of their sight after the bullshit that happened with Stella
Tam has hobo vibes. He's not a hobo - he's a homeowner with some land outside of town - but he comes into the city a couple times a month for supplies and people are weird about it. To be fair, Tam's probably also weird about it.
Rictavio has fangirls. No one is happy about it, but especially not Rictavio.
Where do the cars and mass-produced goods come from? Who knows!
The druids are eco-terrorists who are rumored to be part of the Cult of Mother Night. Some of them are more integrated into society, but they're still like... extremist hippies who want you to sign this pamphlet to protect the environment
Krezk is romanticized by sourdough starter tradwife wannabes. Real Krezkites don't know they're being celebrated on TikTok.
Vallaki Pride Events go hard. Vallaki Halloween trunk or treats. Vallaki holiday parties that last for dayyyys. You get what I mean.
God. Just all of modern Vallaki, tbh. I should get back to that fic.
Rahadin with a smartwatch. The only number he has saved in it is Strahd's. He still receives ill-timed calls from the brides, his baby mama, and his boyfriend, who just called to say hi. (Goddammit Cordy.)
Strahd has regular Zoom meetings with her top agents - the brides, Vasili, Rahadin - but someone always has hella lag and Rahadin's choir keeps getting picked up on the mic.
Vasili puts Lysandra up in a gorgeous penthouse apartment with a lot of windows. She wears a lot of designer brands to impress the in-laws, but otherwise lives in lululemon athleisure wear, trying to stay current enough that Vasili doesn't notice that she's slowly (compared to humans. Compared to him? Rapidly) aging.
Marigold facetimes with Cordy, but he's really bad at the camera so she usually ends up staring at the ceiling or the garden while they catch up
Ivan and Escher are rival influencers. Superfans have noticed little things that suggest they may be more than rivals, but Strahd/Escher shippers accuse them of reading too much into things. It's a scandal brewing in a small sphere of Barovia, so Strahd kind of ignores it. What she doesn't ignore is when Escher tries to include too much info about her or her court in his "little videos"
Kehrani is in the army and she kicks ass, but that's not new
Theo's entire bedroom being covered in statues of saints, live-laugh-love signs, and Rictavio fangirl posters.

The National Institutes of Health is quietly assembling a vast digital mosaic of Americans’ private medical histories, pulling sensitive data from both government-run health systems and commercial sources to support autism research tied to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s latest project.
The new scheme involves a sweeping plan to integrate diverse streams of health data into a single platform, raising significant concerns about privacy, oversight, and long-term use.
According to NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, the data aggregation includes pharmacy transactions, insurance claims, clinical test results, and even personal metrics collected from wearable tech such as fitness trackers and smartwatches.
This is not the “autism registry” that has been reported to developed, something the Department of Health and Human Services has denied.
Instead of a traditional registry, what the government calls a “real-world data platform” will be established. This platform will link data to support research into the causes of Autism.

HUAWEI Watch Fit 3 - an Apple alternative?
I wanted to write a long term review about the HUAWEI Watch Fit 3. I have been using this device for 8 months and prior to that I had a Hauwei Band 9.
Both HUAWEI fitness trackers I have owned have had connectivity issues. But before I get onto that I will start with the positives.
HUAWEI fitness trackers are known for their accuracy. The devices do have fantastic longevity and heart rate accuracy that is comparable to wearing a chest strap.
There have been some mixed reviews on sleep tracking and it seems that this is potentially where the HUAWEI trackers fall short. I can’t say I have monitored the accuracy of this too closely.
Regarding calorie counting is there really an accurate measure? Every device has its variations my treadmill does provide a lower figure than the fitness tracker. Others have mentioned that it under calculates steps and calories but my steps have been very accurate.
It has a comprehensive amount of workouts, it has great accuracy and the battery is out of this world. You can get anywhere between 7-10 days out of it and it charges very quickly.
It does lack some features such as Apple Pay or Google Pay and is more of a fitness tracker with basic smartwatch features.
As it is HUAWEI accessories and replacements straps are not readily available.
The HUAWEI health app is easy to use and very comprehensive. However, it is not available on the Google Play store. It is available on the Apple App Store, Samsungs own App Store same with Xiaomi and Honor.
This is an issue for Pixel users as the Play store is the only App Store available on Pixel. There are work arounds to get the app on Pixel but it often fails to connect and if it does connect the app doesn’t sync well.
I was able to download HUAWEI health from the Samsung App Store. It was easy enough to set up but I did have to reach out to HUAWEI as the watch didn’t automatically reconnect to the phone and it kept disconnecting.
I had the best experience using it with my Honor phone which ironically were owned by HUAWEI. The integration was very good.
I am now using it with an iPhone. Despite the fact the app is available in the App Store I have noticed some restrictions using it with iOS. Firstly, I am unable to individually select which apps I want to receive notifications on my watch from. It’s all or nothing which is frustrating as I don’t need my wrist buzzing with news headlines.
You are unable to download any additional apps but even when you can do this your options are limited anyway.
90% of the time you are unable to control music from the watch and the stats don’t integrate with Apples own fitness apps.
You also have to leave the HUAWEI health app open or you won’t receive notifications or alerts and the watch can disconnect.
If you get an alert on the app about your sleep or exercise etc this does interfere with notifications again and you have to open the app sync it and then it works.
I have never owned an Apple Watch so I can’t compare. However, if you are an iPhone user I would suggest that the Apple Watch will have better integration and better features.
I would avoid this watch if you are a Pixel user.
There is an argument that Apple trap you into an ecosystem but Google and Samsung all have their own smartwatches and ear buds etc that are all designed to work seamlessly together. For the best experience all your devices should be the same brand regardless of what that brand is.
I do like the HUAWEI Watch Fit 3 but not I am an iPhone user with no intention of switching back to Android I will be saving up for an Apple Watch.
Downside of Apple Watches? Battery life, price and not compatible with Android.

Many low-income and rural communities lack access to quality medical facilities, trained professionals, and essential medications. Bridging this gap requires investment in infrastructure, policies that promote equitable health care, and the expansion of telehealth services.
2. Rising Costs and Affordability
Health care costs continue to rise due to factors such as expensive treatments, administrative inefficiencies, and high pharmaceutical prices. Governments, insurance companies, and health care providers must collaborate to make medical care more affordable and sustainable for all.
3. Data Security and Privacy Concerns
With the increasing digitization of health records and AI-driven health solutions, data security is a growing concern. Cyberattacks on medical institutions can compromise sensitive patient information. Strengthening cybersecurity measures and establishing stricter data protection regulations are essential for maintaining patient trust and safety.
4. Aging Population and Chronic Diseases
The world’s aging population is placing additional strain on health care systems. Chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and dementia require long-term care and management. Investing in preventive care, promoting healthy lifestyles, and developing innovative treatment strategies are vital to addressing these challenges.
The Road Ahead
The future of health care depends on a balance between innovation and accessibility. Embracing new technologies, improving affordability, and addressing disparities will pave the way for a healthier global population. Collaboration between governments, medical professionals, and technology developers is crucial in creating a health care system that serves everyone efficiently and equitably.
As we move forward, the focus should remain on patient-centered care, ethical medical advancements, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the quest for better health care. With the right policies and innovations, the future of health care can be bright and promising for all.

Oi lucca!
Iogurte;
Ovos (ou qualquer refeição com ovos);
Banana com pasta de amendoim, ou qualquer coisa com pasta de amendoim;
Whey Protein;
Leite;
Queijos.
Agora, o carboidrato tem a função de te dar energia pra correr, pular, dançar, etc. Então deve ser consumido ANTES do treino! Logo:
▷ Coma de pré-treino:
Tapioca/Pão/ Torradas com doce de leite (banana opcional);
Tapioca/ Pão/ Torradas com geleia;
Tapioca/ Pão/ Torradas com leite condensado;
Doce de leite;
Suco de frutas ricas em carbo (laranja/ uva integral);
Banana com mel ou aveia;
Whey Protein;
Omelete com queijo;
Salada de frango;
