Lost for almost 40 years, the phantasmagorical, dreamlike, surreal, abstracted, and strange animated movie, “Son of the White Mare” (1981) was only seen in Communist Hungary until it was rediscovered in 2020. It was based on myths of the steppe people about a heroic son of a white horse possessed of great strength who slays dragons.
