I have to say, it is surprising that a favorite OC x CC ship of yours is one with Solid Silva of all people, but a nice one 😅🥰

Honestly, I am as surprised about this as you are, Anon-friend 😂 but any pairing compelling enough to make me genuinely think about Solid Silva as a romantic being is definitely worth a shout out, in my opinion. If you had told me when I binging Black Clover almost 2 years ago now (A/N: wow! time flies) that I would one day have genuine, positive feelings towards a ship with Solid in it, I probably wouldn't have believed you, but I thought Vilandel's little one shot about them was actually really sweet and there's something very compelling and very believable about the relationship the way it was described in Rosette's character profile. I'll admit I am not a big Solid fan and am probably never going to be a big Solid fan (A/N: I know my whole shtick is strained and dysfunctional brothers/sibling relationships, but Solid was always just a little too far, even for me), but this is actually a really compelling take on a genuine redemption arc for him and after reading it, I can genuinely see him becoming a better person and ready for a healthy romantic relationship if things played out this way.

Plus it's arranged marriage to lovers?! I love that stuff. Why do y'all think I am so into Langris x Finesse? (A/N: It's for more than that, but um...yeah I think that ship probably says a lot about me & my interests when it comes to pairings. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but probably has a lot to do with my interest in this one...😅)

truth scrapper trailer theories/speculation/thoughts:

so i was not planning to be as interested in this game as i am now.

of course i was going to check out the game when it came out, considering how normal i've been about isat for the past (checks steam) eleven months, but none of the descriptions really grabbed me pre-trailer. mostly because i'm not a romance person.

i'm still not particularly interested in the romance, although betz in particular is very pretty. but all the other stuff? the memory mechanics? the visual style? the lore? i'm so invested now.

and i have thoughts. am i going way too far into the speculation trenches for a game that only has a single trailer out? probably. am i having fun theorizing and analyzing every detail i can find? absolutely.

part 1: sosette's condition

so i've already seen some people speculate on sosette being a system, given her tendency to describe herself using "we" and "us" and the detached way she tends to treat the former versions of herself.

while the evidence is definitely there (and the post linked earlier makes some really good points), i actually don't read it that way.

there's definitely some parallels there even if sosotte's got her own thing going on, and there's not any evidence that she's not necessarily a system, but to me this feels more like a consequence of her memory condition where she considers herself separate from her past and previous selves because they don't share memories (besides what's written in her scrap book). as in, every day a new sosotte, but there's exactly one sosotte existing at any given time, if that makes sense.

it's a fascinating question: are you still the same person if you don't remember your past? sosotte doesn't seem to think so. each day is a new beginning — quite literally — for her in a world she's never seen before. each sosotte is different, for the single day that she gets to live.

on a meta level, there's also the comparison to all the different sosottes we can create by choosing what she gets to remember. the sosotte that chooses to focus on amour and learn more about her may end up understanding the world differently than the one who falls for betz. one may focus on the mystery of the dwell and finding clues. one may try to remember as much as she can about the people she's met.

but there's also the question of how her condition fits into the larger world.

part 1.5: the truth scrappers guild

so i don't think sosotte's condition is unique. or, at least, not as unique as i initially assumed it was.

to me, this makes it sound like memory issues and forgetting might be a relatively common thing among members of sosotte's guild, and while she may have it particularly bad she's not the only one with problems. of course, we haven't (as far as i know) seen any other truth scrappers yet to confirm this. (besides the intern who runs the @/truthscrapper blog. if you happen to see this and have anything to add, i'd love to hear it!)

side note: there's an interesting dichotomy between the truth scrappers being both researchers (a role typically tasked with learning more about the world) and wanting to forget (aka abandoning knowledge). which actually ties back to the title! it could mean truth scrappers as in scrapping (casting away) the truth, or piecing together scraps (like sosette's scrap book!) of truth, or also to scrap (fight) the truth, or probably some other definition that'll become more clear once the game is out.

i also am currently running with the theory that sosotte's memory condition is — at least partially — self-inflicted.

we know that saturated items seem to have at least some special abilities (like sosotte's scrap book, which helps her remember things). and, especially if the truth scrappers guild is composed of multiple people with both the desire to forget things and holes in their memory, then that feels like too much of a coincidence to not be intentional. perhaps the severity of sosotte's condition is due to a mistake in whatever saturation ritual she followed. perhaps she's simply affected differently than the others.

there's also the scene with the forget-me-not flower that shows up multiple times in the trailer. (might be real. might be a flashback. might be a dream sequence. who knows at this point.)

i want to forget, the label says. i do wonder what sosotte is running from. what the others who were lost in the dwell were running from, if all the truth scrappers have pasts they'd rather leave behind.

(the dwell, the setting is called. to dwell on unpleasant memories, to be forced to remember what you tried to forget. i could see that breaking someone.)

part 2: saturated items and color theory

truth scrapper’s “magic system” seems to be based around the concept of Saturated Items, like sosotte’s scrap book. how these work, i don’t know yet, besides the fact that there’s apparently rituals involved in making them? saturating them? one of those terms.

but what i do know is that they’re also saturated. as in color. as in the world appears to be literally grayscale (hey, that sounds familiar) except for these items. and maybe some other stuff.

which means that when things are in color, they're probably important. especially when this isn't the first time insertdisc5 has made splashes of color in a grayscale world plot relevant.

unlike isat, there's a lot of color around, though, which means there's quite a bit to analyze.

a) saturated items seem to be fairly common in-universe. we can see (presumably) sosotte making several saturated items in the trailer, and nearly every character we meet seems to have at least some element of color to them, whether that's their clothes or their hat or their other accessories. in addition, there are larger colored items like a couple of the houses behind the betz brigade or the lampposts in the screenshot with betz. whether these are actually saturated items or just a way to mark important things, i'm not entirely sure, but i'm leaning towards the in-universe explanation. (they're also shaded differently but i think *that's* just because they're background objects and not hand-drawn)

b) most characters don't have any color themselves, and only their accessories are saturated. with three notable exceptions: amour has red hair, the betz brigade member on the left has a purple streak in their hair, and marcel has purple eyes. so can you saturate parts of yourself? is saturated dye a thing? is this something anyone can do or are these three special? i'm particularly interested in marcel, because

c) there's a lot of eye imagery here. two members of the betz brigade have eyes on their hats: so does caro, and even sosette has two eyes on her hat. there's also the symbol on both sosette's scrapbook and one of the sticky notes in the image with betz, which looks similar to an eye. (or it's a change symbol, with circles in circles in circles.)

even sosotte's saturated items have eyes on them.

eyes representing truth. knowledge. to see things that might otherwise be kept hidden. not everything colored has eyes, but a lot of it does, which makes me wonder if this is more of a symbolic thing or has tangible impact on a saturated item's properties.

so. back to marcel, who's the only one with colored eyes. can you see things that others can't? what do you know? what are you hiding? i'm very suspicious.

part 3: this one screenshot from the steam page (didn't fit anywhere else but i needed to say something)

why is there second person dialogue in the first person game. it’s in parentheses so i doubt it’s spoken dialogue, and it could be sosotte talking to her future selves but also. the text is orange. when it’s usually black for external dialogue and green when it’s sosotte thinking. who are you. are you amour? the book itself? another loop situation? is this where we find out system sosette is real? i have so many questions.

i'm sure i'll have more to say as we get more information about the game (and definitely a lot more to say once truth scrapper is actually released). but if it's not clear already i'm very excited to see where this goes! Yes, the Silva were productive... I am biased, obviously^^'

Nymphea and Valentina are twins, with Nymphea being the older one by three minutes. She is more like Nozel personality wise, while Valentina took more after Vanessa. They still got from the other parent, though.

It is a coincidence that they have the same initials as their parents... Nymphea and Valentina were also born on Valentine's Day^^'

Lavinia is the second child of Nozel and Vanessa, also very shy. She doesn't want to be a Magic Knight, finding more happiness in music and songs.

Cassandra was a surprise child, three years after Lavinia, but loved nonetheless. She is the wildest out of her sisters, if there is harshness in the Silva genpool, she got all of it. Cassandra also calls Yami uncle Dumpy.

Diego, Odette, Nebel and Zinnia are quadruplets. Which was a surprised to everyone. Diego and Zinnia are true wild pranksters, mini-versions of their parents, while Odette and Nebel are more calm, almost a miracle given who Nebra and Zora are.

Mathilda came many years later, as a surprise child. Nebra thought that she was done after giving birth to four babies at once, but she was very relieved that it was only one this time. Mathildas birth was also pretty fast, roughly twenty minutes.

The quadruplets are very protective of their baby sister, but baby Mathilda is going to be more a problem child than Diego, Zinnia and her parents together^^'

Eis is the first born of Solid and Rosette. He almost gave his parents and the midwives a scare because he didn't cried immediately when he was born.

Nanthilde is his sister, born four years later. Since she learned how to read, she had a soft spot for riddles and mysteries.

Both Eis and Nanthilde are very kind, like their mother. As much as their father was a brat in his youth, as much they are well-behaved. Solid is actually relieved they don't come too much after him personality wise.

Loreleï is the only daughter of Asta and Noelle. She was born a few days after Eis, which made them best friends since they were babies. Like her cousin Lavinia, she also doesn't want to become a Magic Knight, despite having her mother's amount of magic power.

Her brothers are much younger than her. Airgid is as wild as Asta with Noelles pride, a bit of a brat, but with a heart of of gold.

Nemo is the youngest, wild like his brother but kinder.

Fun fact, both Noelle and Asta were awful at giving names, even for their own children. Nozessa, Zobra and Sosette had to help them on that topic... which wasn't an easy task, but funny.

Nymphea has long silver hair like her father's, wavy like her mother's and Vanessas amethyst purple eyes, she has Silver magic. Valentina has the same eyes as her twin, but long straight hair like her grandmother, in a paler shade of Vanessas rosewood color, her magic is Tapestry. Lavinia has her mother's hair color, but the silky and thick structure of her father's (she wears them in two braids), she also has Nozels metallic lilac eyes, she got Vanessas Thread magic. Cassandra has silver hair, but very wild, a bit of mix of her parents and lavender purple eyes, her magic is Swords... given her wildness, it can be a stress factor for Nozel, one only Vanessa can calm him from.

Diego has his father strong red hair and also his deep blue eyes, looking like a mini-Zora, he has Spark magic. Odette has her mother's silver hair color, very wavy almost curly and like Diego, the eyes of her father, her magic is Cloud. Nebel's hair got a color mixed from his parents, with Nebra's gene a bit stronger, a pale pink, long and straight, his eyes are also a mix of his parents, a strong purple and like his name suggests, he got his mother's Mist magic. Zinnia has also pink hair, but unlike Nebel, her's are a stronger pink and are Wilde like Nebras, she also got her mother's magenta eyes, add to all of this Smoke magic. Mathilda has her father's red hair, pretty wild as well, and her mother's magenta eyes (a heavy contrast) and she got Water magic.

Eis has his mother's straight white blonde hair, which he wears short, his father blue eyes and like his name suggests, his magic is Ice. Nanthilde has curly hair, silver like Solid and Rosettes pale grey eyes (which got her the nickname Most Silver Silva), she got her mother's glass magic.

All of Astelle's children have water-based affinities (personal headcanon that Astas condition is not hereditary). Loreleï has her mother's straight long silver hair (unlike Noelle, she has her hair down most of the time) and her father's bright green eyes, her magic is Snow. Airgid has Astas wild ash blonde hair but wears it shoulder length and Noelles magenta eyes, he has Water magic like his mother. Nemo has silver hair but the same hairstyle like his father and also his mother's magenta eyes, his magic is Mist.

Solid x Rosette

I am so happy you sent in this ask and told me about Solid x Rosette because this ship is absolutely my cup of tea (and not just because they're not super gooey and romantic. [A/N: Me neither Sosette] though I do have an affinity for more pragmatic couples who are very devoted to each other even if they're not super traditionally romantic and/or are more private about their affections). The big appeal here for me is that I've always had this intense fascination with arranged marriage to lovers. I have no explanation for this, but it's an absolutely fascinating dynamic to me and something I really enjoy exploring. I'll admit that maybe I'm biased because I also chose the arranged marriage to lovers dynamic for my own Black Clover OC x CC ship, but I think it just fits the nobility and strict social order of the Clover Kingdom so perfectly in my opinion and works so incredibly well for the story you've created for Sosette.

I love the idea of Solid entering this arranged marriage because "it's what you do," but then finding himself engaged to someone kind and perceptive enough to see beyond his haughtiness to realize he isn't just a shallow snob. He is moved by the fact she trusts him, and she brings out the best in him by believing it's there. Then he has his little panic moment of "Oh no! I fell in love with my fiancee!" This is the good stuff! Also, Rosette is super cool in her own right, and I adore her (and her friendship with my girl Charmy! YES!!). I love that she's so calm, collected, and perceptive. Also she's a detective? That's so awesome (and the Poirot reference had me squealing). Also, her glass magic sounds super interesting! I'll admit I never really thought of Solid Silva as a romantic being before, but Rosette's profile and your little one shot about them sold me. They're canon now. I don't make the rules.

Lital x Fuegoleon

Lital sounds lovely as well, and her backstory is really compelling (especially the story of her adoption which was so moving and so wholesome). I love the slow burn nature of her relationship with Fuegoleon, their long history with each other, and how they bonded over being on the same magic knights' squad. I'll admit I'm not as feral about it as Sosette (seriously, I just adore that ship now), but it seems like a very sweet pairing and I'd definitely be on board for it too!

Some Platonic Bond Thoughts Too? I'm So Spoiled! 😁 Thank you so much for this! Platonic relationships are truly my real passion, so it means a lot to me to be indulged to ramble about them as well.

Mother and Son: Acier and Nozel Silva

The bond between Nozel and Acier is so incredibly compelling to me. It's nice to see such a healthy and wholesome mother and son relationship, and the series does such an incredible job of showing just how much Nozel's love for his mom and his desire to make her proud and live up to her legacy has motivated and affected him. I adore them.

Finral and Gauche Friendship

I don't think I've ever really thought about this one before, but as soon as I read your ask, I had this very vivid thought of them bonding over gushing about how much love their younger siblings (I'm sure Langris would hate that...but luckily he's not there 😂😅). That said, it's a little hard for me personally to imagine that Finral wouldn't get on Gauche's nerves, so I'm not sure I can see them as besties in the same way as Gauche and Gordon for instance, but I do like the concept of an unlikely friendship between them and them bonding over their roles as big brothers. 😊

Both of the ships are very sensible and compelling.

I like Sosette a smidge more because it involves Solid getting clowned on by fate. He wasn’t supposed to fall for his arranged fiancé but now he’s head over ass for her and I’m brought to life by that. Solid and Rosette’s dynamic of willingly entering the arranged marriage and then working their way into trust and eventual love feels real to me. It’s a balanced and mutual dynamic from the start. The most compelling part about it is that Solid is allowed to grow into a better man without that being Rosette’s goal. It would’ve been annoying if she made it her job to fix him. She does scold him but she doesn’t nag him. And the fact that they don’t end up as as totally mushy gushy couple works for them.

Fuegoleon and Lital is a well thought out ship too. Lital is brave and considerate. Her complex background has helped mold her into someone with a good head on her shoulders, not prone to gossip or judgement which I think Fuegoleon would appreciate in a partner. And for Fuegoleon’s part, he always thinks of those around him and though he can be strict, he isn’t inflexible. They’ve got this calm dynamic that still leaves room for an endearing romance where they learn and grow together. The biggest compelling factor to me is their time together. Considering my own oc x cc ships, I do like the relationships long-standing and devoted!

And let’s not forget the cc x cc YamiChar! I find that it makes sense and is SUPER DUPER COMPELLING!

For why is makes sense, I believe it boils down Yami and Charlotte seeing each other in a way they need to be seen. Yami treats Charlotte with a respect that other men don’t. Other men throw them at her feet and see her mainly for her beauty and status. Yami, though, teases and taunts her like he’d tease the male captains or his squad members. He doesn’t dote on her or worship her. Charlotte is someone who has her own strength but could still stand to be open to help. And Charlotte sees Yami as someone who can in fact be loved. She pushes him away and makes jabs at him but she doesn’t look down on him as some strange foreigner. Even if she complains about his lack of tact, she still admires his strength and knows that he can speak words of kindness.

It’s such a compelling ship based on that thought alone. I’m also compelled by my real life experience. My mother is Japanese and my father is Caucasian so a mixed race couple like YamiChar reminds me a bit of my own family. I do wish Charlotte’s crush wasn’t so often a joke because that kills the vibe a little. Not totally though.
