At first, I had an entire idea for a TV channel called "Urban Aztec" and it pretty much seemed like I already thought everything through.

Headcanon

Rick is starting to realize the only creatures he’s okay with making with his ability are ones where an item is needed to summon said creatures, mostly ‘Huntik: Secrets and Seekers’, ‘Kaijudo’, and the Celestial Keys from ‘Fairy Tail’. While it still takes a high level of power that he still is the source for, it’s easier to return an item than any form of living/sentient being, and since they usually exist in a plane outside of our own, if he is unable to return said item, they still are able to live a regular life on their primary plane of existence.

Aside from those type of creatures, he will generally only make when either he truly needs to or something triggers his powers to kick off in a surge and he makes one by accident. Usually when this happens, any living/sentient beings he creates he will try to deal with to the best of his ability and help as much as he can because he feels as if it’s his fault he’s pulled them from their world into his even if technically they still exist in their own. Rick would never want to subject anyone to that existence, especially combined on potentially learning everything they knew was only a form of entertainment to others. The worst of this is when the situation isn’t that he doesn’t have the power to return them, but because the image they came from is gone(usually a broadcast of something, which makes any copy or re-broadcast a separate image apparently), and while they are rare, they are also the hardest for him to deal with because he knows there’s no way to ever send them back.
