KaeMAYeus Week 3:
Lunch Break | Love Poems
I got struck with the initial idea for the Kaemaeus ship at the beginning of 2023. It started with the premise of Kaeya taking Klee by the alchemy table in search of Albedo, and Timaeus having to regretfully tell them he was still away on Dragonspine. To avail Klee's disappointment Kaeya would take her to get lunch at Good Hunter, on a whim inviting Timaeus to join them. It ends up becoming a regular occurrence, the two chatting about this and that over a shared lunch break. They find that they like each other's company, and over time go from acquaintances, to friends, to more.
Given that it's June, I got more than a little behind on this. I still had fun this last month, trying to do a bunch of pieces for my server's rare pair alongside my friends. Thank you to @throwaway-writing and @tittysuckersworld for nudging me into making the prompt list. And for participating in this silly little ship with me. ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶

The Pizza Pub Restaurant - Dover Chester Road in Randolph/Ironia, NJ
I happened upon The Pizza Pub when I was taking some backroads home from work and, like a siren in the night, it just called to me to stop and try it. On looks and name alone, you might think this pizza would be trash. However, this was FAR from the truth. I decided to try a chicken bacon ranch which turned out to be a great decision. Besides having just a little too much ranch, this slice checked all my boxes. There was a nice blend of toppings and light, crispy crust that was also just a little doughy. Highly recommended to my fellow CBR fiends! $4 seemed a little pricey to me (felt more like a $3.50 slice), but it was good enough that I can forgive it. Stop in if you get a chance!

moving AGAIN (this will be the third time in the span of 2 years) but I’m excited because my new place has a balcony, is a 5 minute drive from my favorite park, and is within walking distance of me and my little brother’s 2 favorite restaurants. and now that he’s out of school (graduated!!) we might be able to hang out more so I’m seeing a lot of pasta in our future.

hi not to be mean but as someone who's lived in/been to a bunch of different parts of the US can I just say the deep south might suck the most ass out of any of them. Like I understand plenty of people like it here and I think I even got cousins out here but I can't fucking stand it
-Pretty hot but also pretty humid, meaning you're broiling 2/3rds of the year
-Saddest goddamn mexican food I've seen in my life
-Yeah man I'm gonna say it. I did forget the rest. It is 1:25 AM and I really do think the worst thing an area can do is be the southwest but with middle-tier food and sweatier. Fucking goddamn debate me. Arizona's political climate was shit but anyone in the entire goddamn assfucking state even knows how to make carnitas. Who made it like this.

Specialty coffee and gourmet dishes at The Coffee Academics Cafe in Makati
Specialty coffee and gourmet dishes at The Coffee Academics Cafe in Makati
During an overcast Saturday morning in Makati’s Central Business District, you would think that the cafes there would be nigh deserted. After all, office workers who rely on their cuppa to energize them for their workday are mostly at home, enjoying the extra time they can spend in bed snoozing.
However, such is not the case at the Coffee Academics Cafe along Carlos Palanca Street. In this cozy…

Pizzaiola Pizzeria & Restaurant - Oceanside Plaza on Long Beach Road in Oceanside, NY
It's not often I have the opportunity to try a new pizzeria on Long Island, so I took advantage recently to try Pizzaiola in Deer Park, a spot recommended to me by my co-worker (and Lawn Guyland native) Alexa. First off, the location is VERY Long Island, being smushed in the corner of a shopping center. However, sometimes that's where the best NY pizza is, and Pizzaiola honestly didn't disappoint. They had a number of incredible looking slices that I wish I could have gotten, but I stuck to a plain and a buffalo chicken.
I opened with the plain and loved every second of it. Wet and flavorful cheese, light sauce with the right amount of seasoning, and crust with a nice light crisp to it. Honestly I have nothing bad to say about it, this plain checks pretty much all the boxes you'd look for in a good slice of pizza. The buffalo also looked awesome, but unfortunately didn't quite reach the expectations set by the plain. The bleu cheese seemed to be baked into the cheese because it was not saucy at all and it threw off the flavor for me. It resulted in the bleu cheese being overly spotty which left some bites with way too much and others with far too little. The chicken also didn't have much flavor or kick to it, but there was some weird seasoning sprinkled over the slice that added a different unnecessary flavor instead. Kinda disappointing, especially for the $5 price tag.
Had I just got the plain, I probably would be giving Pizzaiola a 6. However, the lackluster buffalo and the high cost ($9 for the pair) knocks it down to a 5 for me. I can definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a good South Shore plain slice, but think twice if you're going for a specialty.
