Author's Note: YAYYYY!! This is the first week of Spooky Season with @alexusonfire!!!! This weeks prompt was couples costumes and what could be cuter than matching with Miranda??? <33

The constable dropped onto the couch next to you, swiftly turning her body and reclining back so her head rested in your lap. She was finally able to relax for the evening now that she returned home from work and showered. 

“How was work, honey?” You ask, eyes not leaving as you scroll with one hand and use your other to play with her hair.

Miranda held up her phone displaying an email she received, showing a party invite, “A friend is hosting a Halloween party! We should wear a couples costume!” 

“A couples costume?”

There was a glint of mischief in Miranda’s eye, “Yeah! It could be fun!”

“Hmmm…” You smile down at the blonde, swiping some hair away from her face. You brush your knuckles along her cheek, “You know what, Andy? If you can find a cute costume for us to wear, then we can wear a couples costume, okay?”

“Deal!”

“Try it on, then come out and show me!” Miranda teetered back and forth on the bed where she sat criss-crossed. There was a huge smile plastered across her face that caused your lips to twitch as you attempted to remain serious.

“Miranda, please…” You force a frown, staring down at the red fabric in your hands. The constable had been planning these Halloween costumes for months and now that it was the night of the costume party, there was no backing out.

“Please, baby! I know you will look so cute.” 

You didn’t want to disappoint the constable, but you didn’t know anything about this tv show. Miranda was the Star Trek fan, not you. What were you supposed to say at the party when asked about this costume? 

“Can’t I just be myself for Halloween? Or I could just wear my costume from last year?”

“No! Come on! Just try on the uniform.” Miranda’s eyes went big and she intertwined her fingers, holding them up in a begging motion. God, she was so cute. Miranda’s pleading eyes and pout were always able to break you down. 

“Okay…”

“Yay!!” Miranda jumped up on her knees, throwing her arms around your shoulders before yanking you towards her. You were feeling immediately better about your decision to agree to wear the costume as Miranda began peppering your face with kisses.

“Hello, Captain.” Robin teased as soon as she saw you enter the room with Miranda. She smirked as she observed your bright red captain’s uniform. 

Miranda draped an arm over your shoulders, a great big smile graced her lips. Miranda’s love of the Star Trek franchise began to show as she began explaining both of your costumes to Robin. “Don’t they look so cute? Captain L/n of the USS Enterprise reporting for duty! I am their chief of security!”

The constable donned a yellow Star Trek uniform indicating she was a part of the security crew on the starship. She had been so excited to put it on and had been using Star Trek references all night because of it. 

Robin hadn’t taken her eyes off of you as she secretly adored the way you made her best friend so happy. She was clearly amused with your couples costume. “I didn’t take you for a Trekkie, L/n.” 

Glancing from Miranda, who now rested her chin on your shoulder, to Robin, you rolled your eyes in jest, “Occupational hazard of dating Hilmarson over here.”

“What are you supposed to be, Rob?” Miranda asked, her hands winding around your stomach as she spoke to her best friend. Even after years of dating, you never grew tired of the physical affection she gave you.

“I’m your worst nightmare.” Robin wore a shit eating grin as she raised her glass towards you and Miranda before giving you a nod and walking off.

When you returned home from the party, tispy Miranda took her time in removing her costume. You could tell she was absolutely in love with the chief of security outfit as she settled onto the couch in it with a bowl of cereal to watch reruns of Star Trek: The Next Generation. You curled up next to her, clad in one of her shirts, as you allowed her to educate you on the Star Trek universe.

Midway through the fourth episode of the evening, you felt Miranda’s body lean into yours. Her large hand gripped your forearm, her voice quiet and genuine. “I had so much fun tonight. Thank you so much for agreeing to wear matching costumes with me.”

You thought back on how disgruntled you had originally been about the outfit, but knowing Miranda was made happy made it all worth it. You offer a simple reply before turning your head and planting a kiss on her forehead. “Of course, Andy…”

“You make me so happy.” Miranda’s voice came again, a little more hoarse as if she were about to cry.

You turned to hold her face, hoping you could make her giggle or smile instead of conjuring tears. You give her cheeks a squeeze, nuzzling your nose against hers, “Awh.. Andy. You make me so happy.” 

Miranda sniffled once, but you spoke once more to distract her from the oncoming tears, “Now please tell me what Riker is up to in this episode. I can’t tell which head he is controlled by.”

The constable giggled at the innuendo and turned her attention back to the screen, explaining the sexually precarious situation that William Riker always seemed to be getting himself into.

Flufftober 5 - Venom

Eddie x Reader x Venom

           "It's my night ! My night !"

           "Yes, Venom. Even though we said it was our night and you're being a little selfish, it's your night too."

           "My night ! Tell him morsel ! Tell him!"

Y/N didn't say anything, too busy laughing because Eddie and his alien were arguing over something totally ridiculous again.

In Venom's defence, Halloween was definitely the only night of the year he could hit the streets without anyone being scared of him, besides some other costume moments of course. He was always very proud to talk about the party where everyone loved him, when he 'came out of Eddie's closet'. Again, unable to stop laughing, she failed to explain why it was funny, while Eddie sighed.

Not only was he going to be able to go out without having too much trouble, if he behaved well, but there were also the candies.

Ever since he heard about the candy and other sweets he was about to receive, Venom had been "hopping" on Eddie's shoulder from morning to evening, and even at night, excited and drooling as he imagined the mountain of sugar he was going to be able to ingest in a single night.

           "I've already put on a little weight because of you, I don't want it to get worse at all. You won't eat everything all at once."

           "I'm sucking out a lot of your fat, Eddie. If you've gained weight, it's only your fault."

           "Liar !"

           "I don't think you've gained weight." Y/N said caressing his cheek. "If so, that looks great on you anyway."

           "Thanks babe."

           "He's actually put on a bit of weight, and I don't think that looks good on him. Big butt."

           "I don't have a big butt."

           "He's got a big cute little butt."

           "No, just big. But that's not important ! My night is coming ! We have to decide where we're going, to get the most treats ! I saw on the television, there are areas where they give more sweets than others !"

Not knowing at all the best route for the candy hunt, Eddie and Y/N spent several hours in front of the computer searching, until their alien was satisfied with the plan they had found. They were then able to go for a walk.

Some people were a little scared of the giant, who only replied that he was Venom when asked what he was disguised as. But with Y/N ​​dressed as a Star Trek character next to him, perfectly calm and holding his hand, no one panicked.

She'd asked Eddie if he wanted a disguise too, but he'd decided he'd go as a broke reporter with a parasite in his body and a girlfriend way too good for him. To silence him, she kissed him, and immediately Venom demanded for a kiss too.

Even though he kept saying that he and Eddie were sharing a body, and therefore everything, he didn't like being left out, with his jealous and angry temper, like a child.

Unfortunately for him, he was not a child, and the owner of the first house they visited noticed this very well.

           "... You're a little old for candy hunting, aren't you ?"

           "There is no age to love sweets !" Venom replied proudly.

           "Maybe. But my sweets are for kids. I've got an apple for you, if you want."

           "... An apple? I'm going to eat your head !"

           "He's joking !" Y/N immediately intervened, pulling him as far as possible from the old man. "Come on, V, we'll find candy somewhere else."

But despite all their attempts, no house agreed to offer candies to the alien, even if they all found that his costume was very successful.

Depressed, Venom wanted to go home, since he had no right to bite off the heads of the bad guys who had ruined his night, nor of the children who had been allowed to have sweets.

           "It is unfair."

           "It's true." Eddie sighed, patting him on the head. "But, you know, if you look in the cupboard, under the fruits, maybe you'll find something."

           "... Do not make fun of me."

           "Look."

Knowing that the alien hated fruit, and guessing that there was a chance the candy hunt would go wrong; Eddie had managed to buy several candies and hide them, just in case.

Upon discovering this little treasure, Venom let out a cry of joy, turning back to his host and quickly coming back to him to bang his head against his.

           "Thank you, Eddie ! Thank you !"

           "Ow ! I already told you that's not how you show affection. It's a cat thing !"

           "I..." Y/N whispered. "I also anticipated that things would not go as planned and... I have chocolate, hidden in the bathroom."

           "It really is my evening ! The most beautiful evening !"

           "It's a night like any other, when you are annoying and eating too much, except you were able to go out for a few hours without anyone trying to kill us."

           "Yes. Being myself, close to you and holding hands with our little morsel. The best night."

Leaving him to savour his sweets, Eddie and Venom sat together on the sofa, thinking he was right and that tonight was truly perfect.

Hob does cosplay at the conventions he attends. He's done a lot of popular fandoms and has become semi-internet famous for how good his cosplays are. He's never charged for a photo or done it professionally. It's just his hobby.

Dream is a photographer. He attends a lot of cons to snap professional pictures of the panels and is often just there to make some cash. Not that he doesn't have an interest in fandom. He just believes that a piece of media and your reaction to that media is personal. He has to really really enjoy something to get into the fandom of that thing.

They meet while Dream is taking a smoke break in between panels. Hob was trying to escape a rather touchy fan threatening to ruin his delicate costume. They chat and hit it off, Hob invites him to a room party after the con. They fuck and life goes on.

Until the next convention, some anime festival that's big for their neck of the woods. The pay is great and Dream gets to sit in on a screening of a rather obscure Japanese film that's just now being subbed. He also runs into Hob there, he's dressed as Tuxedo Mask and has drawn in a lot of Sailor Scouts who want photos with him and the real roses he's been carrying around to give to all the Usagi cosplayers.

They meet again during a smoke break and once again Hob invites him up to his room. Rinse and repeat.

But now Dream is kinda obsessed? Hob is a very good lay and a wonderful conversation partner. But alas, Hob never gave him his socials or his number. They haven't even exchanged names.

The next big con happening is Star Trek. Brent Spiner and Micheal Dorn are gonna be there, it's great. Unfortunately there's no need for Dream to attend bc they didn't hire him. They hired someone a bit cheaper than he is. There's also a massive wedding he's been approached to shoot and the money is too good to pass up.

Dream comes to the con dressed in some cheap Amazon knock-off Starfleet uniform and goes looking for his man. He finds Hob talking with John De Lancie while dressed as Judge Q. He approaches and attempts to talk to Hob, who brings up his shitty costume. Dream feels a bit self conscious about this until Hob invites him back to his room. After all he has a few costumes Dream can use <3

Omg cosplayer Hob 🥵 I immediately imagined him as Toji from jjk (with a big plushie worm cursed spirit) and I don't think I'll ever recover from the hotness.

Dream is genuinely obsessed with this funny, beautiful, talented man. And yes, he did stalk Hob online a little bit, ok. He may have watched one (or a thousand) of his tiktoks. But he doesn't have the courage to message Hob outside of their lil meet up and fuck routine. He'd die inside if Hob didn't message him back! Meeting him in person is somehow less intimidating - maybe because he can see Hob's kind, smiling face.

And holy fuck, he's glad that he went to that Star Trek con. Hob practically drags him back to his room and they barely even make it to the bed. Hob tears the shitty uniform apart (rip, it served him well) and ravishes Dream, almost like he's been thinking about Dream every day since they last met up... he eventually confesses after fucking Dream to the point of seeing stars, that he found Dream’s website and details online but felt too shy to reach out to him...

Dream just has to roll Hob over and eat him out until he cries. He's too happy and delighted to do anything else!

A few months later they hit up a big con together, dressed as Aziraphale and Crowley. Hob made their costumes and all the accessories and Dream spends the whole day taking pics of his boyfriend and telling everyone how talented Hob is <3

You smiled with contentment as you finished laying the soft blankets on the bed. Lying down, you checked that the projection screen was set up just right before you dimmed the lights and turned on the fake fire nearby. The windows showed beautiful fall trees swaying in a light rainy breeze, and for a moment, you really did forget you were on Starship deep in space.

Halloween was approaching on Earth, and the whole ship buzzed with ideas of Halloween parties and costume contests. As you traveled to a distant area of space, you had time to kill, so the crew was allowed to do as they pleased.

Time to kill, also meant, the two of you could relax and have a cozy evening all to yourself. Something Jim was more than happy about.

Hearing a buzz at the door, you looked over to see it slide open, revealing Jim, clad in a cozy outfit, holding a tray brimmed with various foods and snacks.

You grinned as you locked eyes and you felt a warmth fill your chest as he walked over to the bed.

"Wow" He smiled as he looked around, noting all of the various changes you had made to give his suite the perfect autumn vibe.

"You like it?" You asked a bit uncertainly.

He smiled at you as he leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "I love it, its perfect."

You smiled in relief, before your eyes widened a bit, seeing all of the food he had brought. You recognized old Earth Halloween candy, as well as some of your favorite sweets. There were small cakes, chips and dip, and hot chocolate complete with mini marshmallows.

"And how did I do?" He asked with a smile.

You grinned up at him, "Perfect."

He clapped his hands, "So we ready then?"

You nodded happily as you gingerly moved the tray to the middle of the bed, allowing Jim to climb in next to you. He let out a relaxed sigh as he leaned back.

Looking over his shoulder he quirked his brow. "Where did you get all of these pillows?"

You grinned, "I'm a comfort hoarder, you know this."

He chuckled, "Right."

He reached out his arm as you settled in to lean against him, hot chocolate in hand.

Grabbing a PAD he started to flick through the various movies you had downloaded for the evening.

"Ooh, we have to watch this later." He smiled as he pointed at Beetlejuice.

You nodded, "Of course."

"Hmm, but first." He stopped on a movie in the list and your eyes widened. You had not downloaded that one.

Immediately you shook your head, "Absolutely not."

He scoffed, "Why not? IT's a classic!"

"I don't care if it's a classic, I hate it!"

"Oh come on, it's not that bad!"

"IT is that bad" you chuckled "I watched it as a kid and it gave me nightmares, and it made me hate clowns."

"If we aren't watching IT then we aren't watching Hocus Pocus."

You gasped as you sat up, setting down your hot chocolate before you spilled it. "Those movies are not comparable! And Hocus Pocus is so much better!"

He shook his head stubbornly and you pouted at him, your eyes glaring playfully. He glared back, but you saw his resolve failing as his eyes drifted to the pout on your lips.

He finally let out a sigh and rested his head back. "Fine, we can watch Hocus Pocus, BUT, we have to watch a different horror movie if we can't watch IT."

You thought for a moment before nodding "Okay, fine, but nothing with clowns!"

He chuckled, grabbing you and pulling you back into his chest. He pressed a kiss to your temple "Okay, nothing with clowns."

T'Pol

1.) dressed as a sex object. far more qualified & experienced than the (male) captain yet treated as less capable. had her agency removed when her past rape was revealed against her wishes & the episode treated it as a good thing. her taking command of the ship got humanity wiped out in an alternate timeline & she "redeemed herself" by becoming a housewife. there was a scene where the captain fell face first into her boobs. whatever they paid her actress, it should have been at least 3x more

2.) i think you can most clearly see the misogyny t'pol deals with in her costuming and makeup. she is given clear special treatment to make her look "more attractive": she wears catsuits throughout the show (despite neither institution she works for having any other similar uniforms, even for other women), sexy little silk pajamas, a cropped jumpsuit one time (even tho…it's a one piece?? and makes no sense to be cropped????), and SFX makeup that doesnt make her look as "alien" as other members of the literal alien species she's a part of. enterprise's main crime is sexualization, and while everyone (quite literally EVERY member of the cast) is hit with it at least once, t'pol pretty much never gets a break. there's a difference between sexy and overly sexualized, and ent is FAR into the over sexualized side of that spectrum. love you t'pol wish your canon was better xoxo

3.) The classic “Rick Berman Star Trek needs a woman who is strong and competent and part of the crew but gets skintight jumpsuits with low necklines instead of standard issue Starfleet uniforms to show cleavage and keep the male audience on board”.

Kes

1.) Poor Kes had it so bad. She's an Ocampan, which is a kind of alien with psychic powers and a 9-year long life-span. I was pretty interested in what they were going to do with her character when I started watching because in theory with the show having seven seasons, we could have seen her go through pretty much her whole life span over the course of the show. Unfortunately, most of her character is tied up in her terrible boyfriend Neelix, who is at a lower estimate in his mid 30s, and at an upper estimate his mid 50. He met her and started dating her while she was taken prisoner after being kidnapped. Neelix is mostly meant to be comic relief, he acts like an annoying, forcefully cheerful clown for the majority of his time on-screen (when he's not having war flashbacks) except for when he's interacting with Kes. With Kes he is possessive, controlling and manipulative. He's constantly accusing her of trying to cheat on him or leave him, throwing himself pity parties whenever she talks to another man and belittling her. And worst of all he's often framed as being in the right. She hardly gets any screen-time that isn't somehow actually about her boyfriend, the Doctor she's the assistant of or another male crew member who has a crush on her (also too old for her). When she does it's pretty much always focused on her psychic powers and not her as a person.

Some of the highlights of her time on the show include the time that Neelix's lungs were stolen, and after he spends the whole episode feeling sorry for himself and accusing her of being happy about it because he thinks she wants to leave him she donates him one of her lungs. Then there's the time some space anomaly makes her prematurely fertile so she has to decide if she ever wants kids right at that moment, and for some reason, almost the whole episode is focused on whether Neelix wants kids. She eventually breaks up with Neelix. Which is great! But she was possessed at the time. So she didn't even get to do that herself.

She was written off the show at the start of season 4 when another character was added and they needed to boot someone. She "ascends to a higher plane of existence". And then everyone on the crew proceeds to completely forget her about her straight afterwards. I'm not sure anyone was actually sad about her essentially dying. She comes back in a later episode called "Fury" which is about her trying to take revenge on the crew for her poor treatment. You'd think this would be good. But for some reason, she's mostly angry at the captain for allowing her to get on the ship in the first place, despite one of her few character traits being that she's adventurous and always wanting to learn things that no one else has. So the episode mostly focuses on trying to pick apart one of the only parts of her character that was well-defined and consistent. Her past self does tell her that she's forgotten what she truly wanted or something to talk her out of her revenge plan. I'm not really sure what they were going for. She tells the captain she was only an innocent child, so she shouldn't have been allowed to make the decision to get on the ship. She is never shown to be angry at Neelix. The man who started dating her when she was according to her future self a child. And a prisoner.

2.) She's kind of the sexy born yesterday character who's already taken. She's an alien whose race only lives nine years, so when i say that she got married at two that's a bit less alarming. She lived underground her "whole" life (about a year and a half) before she left her town, to find the surface, got kidnapped and then rescued by Neelix, a middle-aged scavenger/smuggler/chef who looks like a Cats character from a regular aging alien race. Neelix promises to show her new places and they apparently fall in love and get married and then Neelix takes her to the Voyager, and she leaves her home forever. At the age of 2. She lived in a cave her whole life, then found this gross little man, married him for some reason, and then was convinced to leave everything she had ever known, her entire family and life, to get on a star ship whose express mission was getting to the other side of the universe as fast as they were able.

Once on the ship she was able to find some independence and her own interests, and eventually left neelix, but god their entire relationship was really just loser old man and naive teenager and it was soooooooo uncomfortable

3.) I rewatched the Kes parts of Voyager. The "General Observations" section can be taken as a TL;DR (sorry for the essay). Here are a few not-so-fun facts about Kes:

Kes often talks like a child especially early on in the show. She acts like a classic Disney Princess; sweet, but not quite understanding what's going on around her.

A lot of Kes's character revolves around the fact that she is very young, and a lot of the more uncomfortable aspects of her treatment revolve around this too. It's not like it's an impossible concept to pull off, in the same show the EMH is actually younger than Kes, and has several romantic relationships that don't feel super creepy in the same way most of Kes's do. This is because the writers don't make him act like a child and they actually give him agency in his relationships.

Kes's people, the Ocampa, live underground on a desert planet. Kes travelled to the surface when she was less than 1 year old, where she was captured by the people living there and tortured for information using "every method of persuasion" that they know. This is where she met and started dating Neelix. He explicitly says he thinks she is dating him because she owes him for getting her out of that situation, and yet it seems like the writers think this is a cute and heartwarming relationship.

Nearly all of her screen time is devoted to emotionally counseling the men around her, helping their character development, comforting and caring for them. She is hardly ever shown to have negative emotions ("Fury" aside), and then it's generally only when a man she cares about is in trouble. This includes when she is kidnapped. Even then she has to be calm, understanding and empathetic.

Kes's established character traits: curious, smart, psychic, caring, kind, young, innocent, naive. Pretty much all of these get tossed out the window in "Fury". She kills people she's known most of her life and tries to sell everyone out to organ harvesters because she gets "confused". She decides not to do this in the end because her younger self tells her she's acting out of character. This episode is one of the worst instances of character assassination I have ever seen.

In about 10 of her 70 total episodes on the show Kes makes a significant contribution to the plot that is not focused on a man. Most of those were more her acting as a psychic plot device rather than anything about her as an actual character. There was only one episode "Before and After", which I would count as truly being devoted to Kes as a character.

Practically every man Kes comes across is attracted to her. Often her attractiveness is mentioned in the same breath as the fact that she is literally a 1-3 year old.

Kes's love interests: Neelix, the EMH, Tom Paris, Tuvix, Ameron (while possessed), Nori (while possessed), Zahir. Aside from Zahir, she has pretty much no agency in any of these relationships.

Neelix calls Kes "sweetie", and talks to her like she's a child. When he's not shouting at her, anyway. Kes unconditionally loves and adores him for some reason.

Observations while watching:

When Neelix's lungs are stolen Kes refuses to leave his side and one of the first things she does is offer to donate one of her own, refuses to let the EMH perform any medical procedures until she's sure it's safe. Meanwhile, Neelix goes on a jealous rant at her because she called another man by his first name.

When Kes donates a lung Neelix refuses at first because the operation would be too dangerous, but Kes says "you've done so much for me, let me give you something once", implying that Kes owes him a lung for him helping free her from the people torturing her.

The episode "Elogium" was apparently meant to be a metaphor for teen pregnancy. With Kes as the teen and Neelix (whose actor says that he sees him as being in his 50s) as the father.

Ocampan puberty apparently happens between the ages of 4 and 5. Kes starts the series at less than 1 year old, and leaves at 3. She is apparently at an age where it would be dangerous to conceive a child in "Elogium". She is not sure she is finished growing. She has been dating Neelix for about a year (possibly more) at this point.

When the EMH hallucinates Kes as his wife, she makes him promise not to tell Neelix, because he tends to get "a little jealous"

In "Elogium", Neelix interrogates Kes over the fact that Tom Paris says "see you later" to her because he "Sees the way he looks at (her). (He) used to look at women that way (he) knows what it means." Neelix is later implied to be in the right here, Kes is being naive thinking Tom Paris could be her friend, apparently.

In "Twisted" Kes turns two years old. Tom Paris gives her a locket for her birthday. Neelix gets pissed off because he thinks he's trying to charm her. Neelix is, again framed as being in the right here.

Kes has a very good memory and is able to remember where everyone's rooms are. When she demonstrates this, Neelix implies she knows this because she's slept with every man on the ship. At the end of this episode, Kes decides to put his photo in her locket to always keep him close.

When Kes is upset that Neelix attacked Tom Paris over her, the EMH tells her she should consider herself lucky to have two men fighting over her.

Tom Paris admits to Neelix that he finds Kes attractive, but says that he won't try anything with her because he respects Neelix. He asks if Neelix would allow him to be her friend. Because who cares what Kes wants right? I guess if Neelix had said no he would have just stopped talking to her?

Tom says Kes is very devoted to Neelix, and Neelix admits he thinks she's only with him because he saved her life and she's grateful he freed her from captivity and she owes him. He is dating her despite this. This is never addressed.

Tanis, another Ocampan, calls her innocent and naive, so she seems quite young even by the standards of her own species.

Tuvix, having inherited Neelix's manipulative tendencies tries to manipulate Kes into begging the captain for his life.

Kes gets kidnapped by caveman aliens. When someone comes to rescue her, the cavemen try to trade another woman to them so they can keep Kes.

Kes goes into a coma and acts as the damsel in distress again in "Sacred Ground"

"This is typical of you Neelix… it bothers you that I'm making friends of my own, you always have to involve yourself somehow." "You can spend time with anyone you want" "As long as I spend most of it with you… I never realised a relationship could be any different. I've never been with anyone but you." Kes when she breaks up with Neelix. Except this isn't Kes because she's actually possessed at the time. She doesn't even get agency in her own breakup.

Kes is dressed in skintight leather trousers and high heels and tries to seduce everyone while possessed by a male warlord. He describes Kes as a "little girl".

In "Darkling" Kes starts wearing form fitting jumpsuits somewhat similar to the ones Seven of Nine wears (though not quite as tight). This is possibly because she's supposed to look more mature, and she starts having "young adult" storylines instead of teenager storylines.

"Everyone seems to be treating me like a child, I'm three years old now"

The EMH kidnaps Kes in "Darkling" when he turns temporarily evil. His treatment of her in this episode includes shoving her into a wall and putting his hand around her neck, repeatedly grabbing and shoving her, holding her at gunpoint and throwing her off a cliff.

The evil EMH kidnaps Kes because she wants to leave the ship to travel with her new boyfriend. This is framed as the good inside of him because he is trying to "protect" her. Kes decides to stay on the ship because of this. She never expresses any negative emotions about this incident.

In "Before and After" Kes goes through her entire life in reverse. In the future she sees, she has married Tom Paris and had a daughter with him, and her daughter has a child with Harry Kim, who was the best man at Kes and Tom's wedding. This is by far the best Kes episode, but she never really gets to react to anything that happens in it. Soon after this she ascends to a higher plane of existence in "The Gift".

In "Before and After" Kes sees threats in advance and warns the crew about them, preventing the Captain's death in the future. This isn't really acknowledged.

Half of "The Gift" is focused on Seven of Nine and the Borg. Not even Kes's send-off episode is really focused on her.

In "The Gift", Neelix and Kes have one final scene together. Neelix gets quite self-pitying again and says she broke up with him because he was holding her back. Kes says that wasn't it but doesn't say why it happened. This is the only time they directly talk about their breakup outside of when Kes was possessed.

When Kes decides to ascend, the captain begs her to reconsider. Kes insists she has not lost her judgement or come under an alien influence. Captain Janeway tells her she's family and tearfully embraces her. Tuvok puts out a candle in mourning (everyone forgets about her after this episode ends though).

In "Fury" Kes is back in physical form somehow, despite ascending into some higher plane of existence in the last episode she appeared. She is also much older in appearance.

In "Fury" Kes gets onto the ship, starts exploding everything she can with her psychic powers, kills everyone she comes across and goes back in time to the start of the show to kidnap herself.

Kes and Neelix have a scene in "Fury". It makes Neelix much nicer than he ever was in the early parts of the show (especially to Kes). He actually notices something is wrong and asks her how she is and prepares her favourite meal for her because she had a bad day. I'm not sure he ever even asked her how she was before. I guess at this point they must have wanted to pretend the relationship was a lot less creepy and unhealthy than it actually was. Especially since Kes is the villain of the episode.

Older Kes's plan in "Fury" is to travel back in time, sell out the people she spent the majority of her life with to organ harvesters so she can send her and her younger self back to her home world because the crew "abandoned her a long time ago". I think this manages to dismantle practically every established character trait she has.

Older Kes's explanation of her actions in "Fury": "You (Captain Janeway) took her (young Kes) from Ocampa. Her home. She's a prisoner on this ship. I was a child, you corrupted me. Your ideas. Exploration, discovery. I believed you. In three years I'm going to leave Voyager in search of higher things because you encouraged me to do it. You encouraged me to develop my mental abilities. What I found, I couldn't control it, it scared me… I trusted you!" Neelix was the one who took her from Ocampa. As noted before, Captain Janeway begged her not to ascend.

Old Kes is killed by the captain. They know something terrible happened to Kes when she ascended, but apparently all that they did was get Kes to record a video of herself saying that she shouldn't take revenge because it's not who she is. This worked for some reason, she says she killed everyone because she was confused.

Kes decides to go back to Ocampa. Due to the Ocampan lifespan, everyone she knew before she left is probably dead. To add insult to injury, Neelix is the last person she sees before she leaves for good.

Rating Star Trek TOS costumes because why not! (part 10)

Bread and Circuses (2x25). This is not what I had in mind when I fantasized about these three as gladiators. Still, grey does look nice on them (especially the good Doctor 👀) and I do appreciate any chance they get to show off their forearms. 6/10.

See, this is what they should've had Kirk, Spock and McCoy wearing. These are basically party city costumes but bonus points for the ridiculous shields and the stylishly asymmetrical arm coverings. 7/10.

Scratch that, this is what the boys should have worn. As always creative cut-outs = futuristic fashion as far as TOS is concerned, and as always I am a fan. The gold looks really nice on the actress, 8/10.

Assignment: Earth (2x26). Okay, so this is just a dude in a suit but consider this: kitty! 100/10 for the cat, she's so stylish in her little sparkly collar. Nothing for the dude, get an imagination.

This is a background character that appears for all of 0.8 seconds but I am obsessed with her. That soft pink mini fur coat with the hood and the matching gloves and go go boots? To die for. 9/10, whatever party she's going to I want an invite.

Girl looks like a creamsicle and I mean that as a compliment. The pink stripe on her tights is a cute, creative detail as is the crochet purse. The black belt looks a little slapdash though and the cut of the skirt is sloppy, 7/10.

Warm and cozy yet stylish. They are going to an ice rink for a date or possibly on an espionage mission against the Soviets (also for a date). This is also an all-time great Spock hat. 9/10.

All dressed up for their courthouse wedding! I am unbelievably fond of Spock's stupid bucket hat, a true gen z icon. 8/10.

Beacon Hills Halloween

Finale/Part 3: Derek

Derek didn’t know why he was doing this. Actually, that’s not true. The reason was Stiles. It always seemed to be Stiles these days. Derek loved him, but the spaz could be such a headache. In this case, the human wanted Derek to dress up for the pack’s Halloween party tonight. Derek was going to refuse, but seeing the hopeful and excited expression on his boyfriend’s face made him cave.

Except now looking at the “Total Dork” costume that Stiles had purchased for him from the pop-up Halloween story, he was already having second thoughts. He still didn’t know why Stiles had picked this costume for him. When he’d asked, the younger man had said he thought Derek would look hot wearing glasses. “Like a sexy book nerd,” he’d said, trying to be flirty. Derek had just rolled his eyes, he doubted anyone would believe him to be a nerd. Yes he did like to read, but with his muscular physique and grown out beard, he hardly looked like the typical dork. Certainly not like the guy on the front of the costume bag. The stereotypical scrawny nerd, with large glasses and dorky clothes.

Derek sighed as he stripped off his clothes and started putting on the individual parts of the costume. It consisted of a pair of pants, a button-up shirt, a sweater vest, a tweaked jacket, and an ugly tie. To top it all off, a large pair of glasses to cement the nerdy look.

Derek sighed as he looked at himself in the mirror. He looked ridiculous. The clothes barely fit over his large frame, and his beard didn’t fit with the look at all. “Stiles better appreciate this,” he thought.

He left his bedroom to go show his boyfriend how silly he looked, preparing for the inevitable laughter. Except curiously, he was met with an empty loft. Investigating, he found a note from Stiles, saying that he had gone home to change and get ready for tonight, and that he’d meet Derek at the party.

Derek sighed, wondering what he was gonna do for the next couple of hours. He went back to his room and started looking through his bookshelf for something to read. He cringed internally when he realized that maybe Stiles had been right to choose this costume. Maybe he really was a book nerd after all.

After finding a book to read, he was just about to leave the room when he noticed that the clothes he’d been wearing earlier were now in the costume bag. But he put them in the bag? Didn’t he? It was just to keep everything tidy? Right? Derek looked at the bag a little more closely and became even more confused. The nerd on the cover now sported a big bushy beard. “What the hell? Did he have that before? How could I miss that?” Derek wondered. He stroked his chin, deep in thought, before freezing. His hand was stroking smooth skin! Not thick hair! He quickly rushed over to the nearest mirror and gaped at his clean shaven face. What happened to his beard?! Derek panicked for a few moments before shaking his head.

What was he even worried about? He didn’t have a beard? Matter of fact, he couldn’t even grow a beard, no matter how hard he tried. Not like the guy on the costume bag, with his big, bushy lumberjack beard. Derek couldn’t help but feel a little envious. Why did he think he should have a beard like that? What a weird thought? Derek chuckled to himself before leaving his room.

He sat down on the couch in the main area of the loft, and started getting acquainted with his book. He managed to read a couple chapters, before he started getting bored. He decided to look for something to watch on his newly purchased tv (Another example of Derek caving to Stiles’ wishes). As he’s searched for something good to watch, maybe a nice documentary, he came across a Star Trek marathon. “Oh Awesome! I love this show!” Derek said excitedly.

He then frowned, where the hell did that come from? He’d never even watched Star Trek before? Still, he’d already selected it, and it did look interesting enough. Captain Picard and his crew were battling against a society of warmongering aliens in an epic spaceship fight. Derek found himself getting quickly absorbed in the episode, and then the next, and then the next.

Derek didn’t even realize that as he was watching, the costume he was wearing became more and more comfortable. The costume no longer felt tight and constricting. Not because the clothes had stretched, but because Derek’s muscles were shrinking. With every passing minute, the werewolf lost more muscle mass. His bulging biceps turned scrawny, his beefy pecs flattened out, his six pack became a smooth tummy. The large bulge that had been straining against the front of the tight pants, grew smaller and smaller until it was barely noticeable. Before long, the formerly tight clothes fit the werewolf perfectly, and the once large and intimidating man who had initially sat down on the couch was gone. He had been replaced by a skinnier and smaller man, who looked like he’d never worked out a day in his life. Derek, who was still oblivious to his changes, jumped up when he’d realized what had happened.

“Oh Geez! I totally got sidetracked! What time is it?!” he worried. He didn’t want to be late to the party! After checking the time on his phone he sighed, “Phew, still another hour before I have to leave.” He got up and started walking around the loft trying to find what else he could do to pass the time. He didn’t want to risk getting absorbed in the Star Trek marathon again.

He didn’t even notice that as he walked throughout the loft, his footfalls weren’t nearly as loud as they used to be. His impressive size and weight used to send deep rumbles and vibrations across the floor with every step. Now each step sounded light as a feather, as the shorter man made his way back into his bedroom.

Once there, Derek found his attention once again drawn towards the costume bag sitting on his bed. It had changed again. Now the former bearded “dork,” if he could even still be called that, had been replaced by a tall and imposing man. You could tell that the bearded man was ripped, as the nerdy clothes he was wearing looked painted on. Derek chuckled, what a weird model to pick for a dork costume?

Still, Derek wished he looked as sexy as that guy. He flexed his own bicep and sighed at the tiny bulge that appeared from his tweed covered sleeve. Derek laughed to himself and gave a shrug, “Guess lifting books isn’t the same as lifting weights,” he thought.

He glanced over to the bedside end table, where Stiles had left some of his comic books. Apparently, they were comic books centered around Wolverine. Or at least that’s what he thought Stiles had told him. He hadn’t really been listening at the time.

Derek, suddenly more curious about the comic books than he was when Stiles first showed them to him, picked up the first one and started flipping through it. He quickly became invested in the complex and interesting storylines, and the amazing comic book artwork. He found himself jealous of the brooding superhero. “He’s so cool,” Derek thought, “I wish I had powers like that! That would be so awesome!”

The man was so absorbed by the comics that he didn’t even notice his connection to his inner wolf fading away, piece by piece, until he was left just an ordinary human. “Golly! I wish I could stay and finish reading these, but I've got to get to the Halloween party,” the now fully human Derek smiled.

As he got up to leave, he found himself looking at the costume bag one more time. The man on the cover had changed one final time. Where there was once a scrawny and dorky nerd, there was now a large man. He had a thick beard, and a deep scowl. The man also had red eyes, along with fangs and claws. He gave off a very threatening and imposing image, with his large muscles straining against his rather ordinary, yet tight clothes. The black leather jacket the man was wearing looked especially cool. Even the name of the costume had changed, as it now read “The Werewolf.”

Derek was confused, wasn’t it supposed to be a nerd costume? But that didn’t make sense? Costumes don’t just change? Besides, why would he want to dress up like a nerd? He was already a big nerd! Everyone told him so. He didn’t have time to change though. He’d have to go to the party in just his normal clothes.

Still, he couldn’t help but feel envious of the guy on the costume bag. He was totally the kind of guy Stiles would want to date. Not some dorky librarian like Derek. Jackson always made fun of Derek for his nerdiness. Saying that Derek was like a walking wedgie-magnet. Derek couldn’t argue with that, considering he’d been the victim of more than a few wedgies back when he was in school.

He sighed to himself as he was leaving the loft, on his way to the Halloween party. Maybe tonight would be the night he’d finally work up the courage to ask Stiles out on a date. Maybe. 

Epilogue:

Across town, a certain Halloween store was being packed up. The man inside smiling to himself.

“Ahh. Another year, another great Halloween. Thank you Beacon Hills. So many new lives added to my collection,” he grinned.

“Oh! That reminds me! I’m still missing one.” He waved his hand and a costume bag appeared on the ground before him.

Picking it up, he inspected the werewolf costume. “Oh this is a good one,” he smiled slyly. “Can’t wait to see the lucky guy that gets this costume next year,” he thought, before he and his store disappeared into the cool night air.

Tickletober Day 22: Monster

summary: spencer needs help picking out a halloween costume

author's note: sorry it's late!

Spencer stepped out of the bedroom in one of the last contenders for his Halloween costume, grinning as wide as he possibly could as he waited for your reaction. You reciprocated his grin back, but mostly at his giddiness rather than the costume.

“Do you like it?” He asked excitedly. Spencer was dressed as Spock from Star Trek, down to the pointed ears and all. You nodded politely, biting on your thumbnail as you continued smiling.

“You look cute.”

“I’m not supposed to look cute! Spock isn’t cute!” Spencer whined with his arms out to his sides, looking down at himself. You giggled as you shuffled across the living room to get to him, snaking your arms around his waist.

“It’s cute because you’re cute, Spence. I’m well aware the actual Spock isn’t cute,” You muttered, pressing a sweet kiss to his lips. He kissed you back for a moment before pulling back and glancing down at his costume.

“What do you think I should be for Halloween?” He asked. You shook your head and eyed him sympathetically.

“No, no, you know I don’t do Halloween, but I support when you do,” You replied, lacing his fingers through your own.

“Just a couple of suggestions! The party is in 2 days and the whole team has their costumes ready. Come on, please?” Spencer pouted, jutting his bottom lip out. You scoffed, but couldn’t hide the smile rising to your face at his adorable antics.

“Fine. Um, Halloween is supposed to be scary, right? Go as, like, a monster, or something,” You said, shrugging. Spencer rolled his eyes.

“That’s so cliché. Plus, Halloween doesn’t have to be scary.”

“I thought that was the whole purpose of this holiday… to scare people.”

“Well, no, not necessarily. Halloween stems from—”

You quickly ripped your hand from his and placed an index finger on his lips to stop him from continuing. “I love you, but I don’t need to hear about the history of a holiday I have no interest in celebrating,” You chuckled, replacing your finger with your lips to let him know that you were only kidding. “I just think you should be a monster.”

“I deal with monsters every day at work. Why would I want to be one for fun?” Spencer raised his eyebrow at you. You chuckled, slapping his chest gently.

“Not those monsters! A fake one… like monster under your bed!”

Spencer half-smiled, shaking his head. “Those aren’t scary.”

Sighing, you poked him in the stomach, causing a small flinch before you walked away from him. “Well, then I’m not sure how to help you, genius!”

But unbeknownst to you, you had just given Spencer the perfect idea. “Wait! I came up with a monster. Pretty scary if you ask me.” You swiveled back around to face him, waiting for his suggestion. “This monster has been around for centuries. Children are terrified of him at first, but one he’s finished with them, they see he’s not so bad after all.”

As Spencer was talking, he began slowly stalking towards you, a sinister look on his face. Confusion was etched across yours as you attempted to figure out what he was talking about.

“I’m lost…” You muttered.

Spencer reached you in a few seconds flat, snaking his arms around your waist to pull you flush against his own body. He leaned down to whisper directly into your ear.

“His name is The Tickle Monster.”

Before you could even respond or protest, Spencer had begun digging his fingers into your sides, making you screech into his chest as your legs buckled out of surprised. His arms wrapped around you tighter to hold you upright.

“AHHH! SPEHEHENCE!”

“This is perfect recompence for you making fun of my Spock costume,” Spencer said, giggling along with your unbridled laughter.

“I-hi dihidn’t make fun of ihihit! PLE-PLEHEASE! SPEHENCER!” You squealed as your boyfriend moved one hand higher to pinch at your lower ribs, one of your worst spots. Spencer had gotten tired of holding you up, so he lessened his hold on you to guide you down to lay on the carpeted floor.

You rolled onto your stomach the second you felt the hard floor beneath you and clamped your elbows down onto Spencer’s hands.

“I think The Tickle Monster would be a hit, don’t you think?” He questioned while squeezing relentlessly up and down your ribcage, grinning wide as you thrashed beneath him.

“WHAHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DOHOHO? TIHICKLE EVERYOHOHONE?”

“No, of course not. Maybe I should keep him hidden and only bring him out here at home,” He said, relenting to let you breathe. You inhaled deeply, face smushed against the floor as you caught your breath.

“Gohod,” You chuckled, “Just go as Spock.”

“I was planning on it, but thank you for the validation,” Spencer knelt down to kiss you on the cheek, laughing as you groaned in response.

Max: Werewolf because he’s a basic jock lol, but he did actually put a good effort into it.

Fiona: nascar driver Danica Patrick, whom none of the others have ever heard of, so they think she’s just dressed like a non-specific nascar driver. Fiona takes the opportunity to educate them and wax poetic about how cool Danica Patrick is.

Buzz: he enjoys Halloween for the horror movies and spooky stuff than the costumes, so wasn’t going to wear one, but Caruso bullied him into it and helped him put together a pretty killer praying mantis costume.

Caruso: for the school Halloween party, he wears the most over-the-top dramatic queer coded vampire you can imagine. For the Dino Squad’s Halloween hang-out at the lighthouse, he dressed as Brad Boimler from Star Trek: Lower Decks

Why? Because they have the same hair and I want him to. (Also I fully believe Caruso is the kind of drama queen who would have multiple costumes for different parties and the kind of closet nerd who would like Star Trek and only the dino squad knows.)

Rodger: Meticulously accurate storm trooper costume. He and Caruso subsequently get into a raucous debate about whether Star Trek or Star Wars is better.

Rump: Underdog

Ms. Moynihan: generic witch, basically just a big witch hat and black shawl with her regular clothes. She’s not really into Halloween but the kids all are and she’s just happy to see them all enjoying themselves.

Bonus: Veloci doesn’t dress up, but he does turn into a velociraptor and go out on the town to terrorize children for fun.

Star Wars Day 

May the Fourth be with you. Fans of George Lucas’ iconic global phenomenon get to geek out extra hard on this pun-centric, nerd-friendly holiday.

May 4th has become commonly known as Star Wars Day, or National Star Wars Day. And who could be surprised? The words, “May the 4th” seem to beg for the rest of the catchphrase to be uttered.

Regardless of whether you prefer Star Wars or Star Trek, or if you are even a sci-fi aficionado at all, the influence of George Lucas’ Star Wars on pop culture is undeniable.

It seems that George Lucas had a knack of being able to connect with people in ways that others just could not, let’s face it, is there really a piece of work this man is responsible for that we cannot affix a quote to somewhere?

The truth is, Star Wars day represents more than just a quote in a film, the day itself is internationally recognized and is now as much a part of life as some of the most popular holidays you can name, we just have to ask ourselves why this is.

Well, if there is one thing we know for sure, it’s that it started out as a homage to something quite brilliant and, in its infancy, belonged only to the inner circles. As time went on, however, it reached more people and gained traction.

When we think of Star Wars day now, it’s not only a day, it’s something fun, and it’s also an in-joke that pretty much everybody on earth is a part of. While it may sound silly, something as incredibly simple as Star Wars Day has played a huge part in bringing people together no matter what background they are from.

The question of how this happened is all in the history, and the history of Star Wars Day is something that we are going to explore a little now.

The History of Star Wars Day

Star Wars, an epic space opera written and directed by George Lucas, premiered in 1977 and became an almost instant cult classic. Even today, almost 40 years later, Star Wars remains one of the most financially successful films of all time.

The franchise it began remains the most successful one of all time, earning over 2.5 billion dollars since the release of the first film. However, the money it’s earned over the years is hardly the most impressive aspect of Star Wars.

As famous film critic Roger Ebert put it: “Like The Birth of a Nation and Citizen Kane, Star Wars was a technical watershed that influenced many of the movies that came after.”

Star Wars was a real game-changer, beginning a new era of special effect-packed motion pictures bursting with excitement, adventure, and imagination that appealed enormously to younger audiences as well as older ones.

Many of today’s most acclaimed film directors, such as Peter Jackson, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan and James Cameron, cite Star Wars as a great influence on their careers.

Star Wars has also had an enormous cultural impact on other areas besides filmmaking, including politics–the Reagan Administration’s Strategic Defense Program was mockingly nicknamed “Star Wars.”

As recently as 2013, President Barack Obama used the phrase “Jedi mind meld” to describe what some people were expecting him to do in his opposition to make them accept his ideas.

“May the Fourth be with you” was first used by Margaret Thatcher’s political party to congratulate her on her election on May 4th, 1979, and the saying quickly caught on.

However, the first celebration of May 4th took place much later, at the Toronto Underground Cinema in 2001. This first official Star Wars Day’s festivities included a costume contest and a movie marathon. Fans’ favorite parodies of the franchise were also enjoyed, as were some of the most popular mash-ups and remixes.

While for some people, there may have been a fleeting thought that Star Wars Day was nothing but a fad that would die out, regardless of the fact the films never did, in swoop Disney, and they restarted the whole thing off and took it to a whole new level.

In 2015, Star Wars saw a new saga come and with all the charm, class and lens flares that Disney could throw at it, and wow did it reignite a fire in Star Wars fans, and we know that lighting that fire again was tough after what JarJar Binks did to it.

Of course, the fire restarted with the Force Awakens, and the new saga promised to deliver fans everything they wanted from a 21st century Star Wars sage. Surprisingly, this time around, Disney really delivered and did what they did best, they took a franchise and made it incredible again.

With Disney behind it and a few familiar faces returning, Star Wars Day was soon to become something even more special to a whole new demographic. Now, a whole new set of parents have to explain why even though it’s set a long, long time ago, things are way more advanced than they are now.

It seems that over the last five years, Star Wars has reached millions of new soon to be Jedi warriors, and if we know anything about Disney, we know they are going to make sure that this franchise is never left to rest again.

Since its revamp, National Star Wars Day has gained so much more popularity and is celebrated by Star Wars fans worldwide, and before long, we expect Disney to declare May 4th to be a national holiday.

2008 Luke Skywalker Day groups appear

Perhaps considered the predecessor to Star Wars Day, groups on Facebook start popping up using the catchphrase “May the Fourth be with you”.

2011 First Star Wars Day is celebrated

The first celebration of Star Wars Day in an organized fashion takes place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on May 4 of this year. It includes film screenings, costume contests, parodies and more.

2015 Star Wars is watched in space

In celebration of Star Wars Day, the crew on the International Space Station watch the films.

How to celebrate Star Wars Day

The way you celebrate Star Wars day will depend on how well you know this cultural phenomenon. If you are a longtime fan of the franchise, you might want to get a group of friends together and attend one of the many Star Wars events organized in different parts of the world.

Such events range from costume contests to museum exhibits to tours of space centers. And if you’re not feeling up to going out, there’s no reason why a Star Wars Day party organized by you at home should be any less fun.

Movie marathons with friends, Star Wars trivia games, and even Star Wars themed snacks (Death Star piñata, anyone?) will guarantee this day is full of fun as well as being very educational.

“Vadering” another person has also become an extremely popular thing to do on this day, and the photos you take of this are sure to bring a smile to your face for years to come.

13 Days of Halloween: Day 10

Plot: Mickey asks you to be his date for the Halloween party. You happily agree, and decide to surprise him with your costume.

Pairing: Mickey "Fanboy" Garcia x Gn!Reader

A/N: This is the first time I am writing a fic for Fanboy, I hope you guys like it~

You ran your hands over your costume as you looked at yourself in the mirror. You smiled to yourself as you thought back on what had happened a few days prior, all leading up to what you were wearing now.

You and Mickey had been dancing around your feelings for each other for a while. It was obvious to both of you how you felt, but nothing had triggered the beginning of a relationship.

But when the Halloween party was organized, Mickey finally took it as an opportunity to ask you out. So, the two of you would be attending the party together. Though, Mickey had agreed to help set up, so you would be meeting him there.

A few days before the party, Mickey had excitedly told you about his costume. He would, unsurprisingly, be going as Spock, ears and all.

You had yet to decide on a costume, until he raved about his. You noted the way he spoke, how he subtly mentioned a place he found a variety of Star Trek costumes. Going so far as to tell you exactly how to get one.

He never asked you, or suggested straight out that you should wear something similar, but you picked up on it. At least you hoped you did.

Part of you was afraid you misunderstood, and that he would not be as happy you went with a matching Star Trek uniform as you hoped. You were not a specific character, but your costume was obvious. You even bought a fake phaser gun.

As you pinned on your Star Trek badge, you were finished getting ready. Taking one last look at yourself, you left.

Making your way to the party, you felt antsy, yet excited. You really hoped Mickey would be excited about your choice of costume.

As you arrived at the party, you spotted many familiar faces. Hearing Mickey's familiar laugh, you spotted him talking to Payback.

Payback was dressed as a zombie, and was carrying a fake brain in his hands. The same one, he had been throwing and pranking people with days prior.

As you approached, Payback spotted you first, before pointing you out to Mickey.

As Mickey turned and saw you, his eyes ran up and down your figure, and you suddenly felt even more nervous.

But as Mickey's eyes lit up and a big grin spread across his face, you felt relief wash over you. He let out a laugh as he practically skipped over to you.

"Yes!" He yelled in excitement as he stopped in front of you. "Look at you! That's awesome!"

"You like it?" You asked a bit bashfully, looking down at yourself.

He smiled and nodded happily "It's awesome! I can't believe you decided to match with me!" Suddenly his face dropped "I hope you didn't think I pressured you into it or anything-"

"No, no" You cut him off with a laugh "I had no idea what to wear, and I did see how excited you were about yours, so I thought maybe I could do something similar. I was actually afraid you wouldn't like it."

"I love it!" You he said with a wide grin again as he looked you over again. "Did you pick a specific character or?"

"No, I didn't, I just-" You pulled out your phaser and pressed the button, causing it to make phasers sounds "-got a random uniform."

He chuckled, as Payback walked up to the two of you. "Look at you two. Matching space nerds."

"Hey!" You smacked his shoulder as Mickey laughed. "At least we didn't go with something unoriginal"

Payback let out a fake gasp as he feigned offense "I've very original, thank you very much. I'll have you know I'm not just a normal zombie I'm a-."

"Yeah yeah" You grabbed him, turning and pushing him towards the building "Tell it to someone who cares, nerd."

Mickey and Payback laughed as you all made your way towards the building. As Mickey slipped is arm around your waist, you felt your ears burn a little hotter.

As you made your way inside, you saw Phoenix, dressed as Laura Croft, who smiled and waved. Looking between you and Mickey she grinned.

"Cute!" She yelled over the music.

After a few hours of mingling with the others, themed games, and eating some food, you and Mickey eventually made your way to the dance floor.

You danced together, not quite, in time to the music, but you laughed together, not caring. Occasionally you danced as a group with the others, before always finding your way back to Mickey.

As a bit of a slower song came on, he pulled you closer to him, his hands on your waist as he smiled down at you.

"I'm really glad you agreed to come with me."

You smiled up at him "I'm really glad you asked me."

His grin grew a bit as he spun you around a bit to the music. Laughing, you wrapped your arms around his neck as he pulled you to him again.

Looking at his fake, pointed Spock ears, you smiled as you gently touched them. "Cute."

He blushed a little as he grinned "They were a pain in the ass to get on. Hangman suggested super glue."

You rolled your eyes "Of course he would." Your smile fell "You didn't did you?"

He laughed "No!"

You let out a breathy and relieved laugh "Just checking!"

As your eyes stayed locked, smiles on your faces, you saw Mickey's eyes drift down to your lips, before he met your eyes again. You saw a small twinkle in his eyes, as you knew he was debating whether he should kiss you now, or not.

The lights flashed as the song changed to another dance song. The people around you began dancing and laughing together. You and Mickey stayed relatively still for a moment as he still stared into your eyes.

Finally leaning forward, Mickey's lips brushed yours before he kissed you fully. You leaned into the kiss, as his hands tightened around you, pulling you closer.

The kiss lasted a few moments before you both pulled away. You grinned at each other, before Mickey stepped away.

He took your hands, and you grinned as you began dancing around with him to the music again.

As you jumped and spun around to the music, he took multiple opportunities to pull you into random kisses, or hold you lose to his chest throughout the rest of the night.

Summary:
