Kento was often quiet, but, swirling his whiskey over dinner, his silence hung heavy with words unspoken. You looked up at him, reading, shrewd.
"...what's up?"
"Hm? Ah, nothing."
"Uh-uh. Out with it, Kento."
Kento put his fork down, his brows furrowing. He plaited his fingers in front of his chin, resting on them.
"Would you...be upset if I had a work wife?"
You chewed, hmmm-ing aloud.
"Well, that depends. Do you think she actually has romantic feelings for you?"
"...no."
"If you talk about me, is she ever disrespectful? Like she wants to replace me?"
"Not at all."
"Do you like her?"
"...yes. She's a good woman."
"Oh, okay. Does she give you secret blowjobs in the storecupboards?"
Kento was aghast, mute with outrage, one hand pressing to his chest, pearl-clutching. You laughed into your pasta.
"Calm down, precious. That's a no then." You put your fork down, taking his hand from his chest, and swirling your fingertips on his palm.
"Then, I'm fine with it. I trust you to put a stop to things if they become suggestive. I know you're obsessed with me, and I know she hasn't got a chance even if she tried anything. Okay?"
Kento still pondered, his skin prickling, his food untouched, and you continued.
"Most importantly, are you upset with it?"
"Yes." He burst out, stabbing his pasta. "It's...disrespectful. Unprofessional. I have one wife, and that's the way I want it to be."
"Then, there's your answer. So stop worrying, eat your dinner, and tell her in the morning."
You continued eating. You felt Kento's eyes on you, calloused warm fingertips stroking your inner wrist, trailing suggestively up your forearm, and your smile grew as you chewed.
"...stop staring at me, Kento."
"No. You're lovely."
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Around mid-morning the next day, you received a text...and another, and another...and anotheranotheranother, your phone blowing up in your pocket.
"Jesus--alright--give me a minute." You said aloud to nobody in particular, putting your tea down.
You opened your phone to a slew of messages from Gojo, and read them with a growing smile.
Shoko is so upset
Nanamin doesn't want to be her work husband
This is fine for me because I need a work wife and she kept saying no to me
So tyvm
She's my wife now
As you laughed, reaching for your tea again, your phone began to ring; Kento. You answered.
"Hey, lov--"
"Is Gojo texting you?"
Your phone buzzed again, blowing up against your ear, and you snorted with laughter.
"Kento, save her. Save Shoko. You have a duty. Be a good work husband."
"--but I don't want another wife--"
"--and you'd sentence her to Gojo? Kento. She's my best friend."
Silence. A huff. Kento hung up as you laughed. Tapping your phone against your thigh, and biting your lip, you tapped out a message to Shoko.
He's all yours. Make sure he takes a lunch break. He likes the pastries in the cafeteria on Tuesdays but never manages to get one, help him out. If he's grumpy he's probably just hungry. Force him home on time. Good luck.

I have been cooking but not posting, so here's the first soup of the backlog.
Another one from Cooking on a Bootstrap, this time a budget-storecupboard version of Pappa al Pomodoro (so 'tomato mush'), using tinned tomatoes, the back end of a baguette, and seasoned with rosemary and garlic.
Notes: Tasted good! Definitely the best bread-incorporating soup I've had thus far. I was so surprised by how easily/quickly tinned tomatoes became Soup with so few other ingredients involved, and without needing to be blended. plus slow-cooked garlic tastie.
That said: There is way too much oil in this soup. I cannot believe that this quantity of oil can be necessary. There's just so much oil. If I make it again I'll probably use about a quarter-measure of oil, see how we go.
I'll probably also swap in some basil or dried mixed herbs for the rosemary unless I can get a fresh sprig that will hold together, because I am a texture weenie who felt it necessary to pick out almost every piece of rosemary that had integrated itself into the fabric of the soup, and that's too much work.

omg hii i was actually recommended your work by devdevlin and seollem! i just love your your language and your characterization--your writing is so heavenly, swear to god (pun unintended)! would read a grocery list if you wrote it lol.
i love love love the omega hermione and hermione polyjuiced as astoria works! will they ever be continued past the one chapter state? 😭 i feel so many emotions and would kill to know what happens next AHHhhhhh
also what about synchronicity and gryffindor red? i saw in the below post that you do know if you're gonna continue (which is good!!), but do u hav any rough ballpark dates we, your loyal readers, can expect?
also, do u have any tomione recs maybeskimilar to your writing style or just ones you enjoy? 😂 gotta tide things over as we wait with bated breath....
you're in luck, anon! I've written many a shopping list in my time. I even have a google sheets hyperlink on my phone's front page (so that I or any member of my household can update, at their convenience), with different columns dependent on one's journey around the supermarket, i.e. "fresh", "storecupboard", "frozen". no need to thank me for this life-changing hack.
wait what were we talking about

Festive Cookie Favourites to make with your children this Christmas
Tumblr media
What better way to get you in the festive spirit than baking some Christmas-themed goodies with your children? We have tried and tested too many to count, but over the years these have proven to be firm favourites and child-friendly too.
And it’s a known fact that nothing goes better with a freshly brewed coffee than a homemade cookie!
Gingerbread Reindeer
Whoever thought of this is a genius! You take your standard gingerbread cookie-cutter, turn it upside-down and hey presto; you got yourself a reindeer cutter! These are lovely to make, the one tip we would give here is to cut the dough into smaller portions for rolling as gingerbread dough tends to dry out a little and can be very crumbly so you don't want to be rolling it out too many times in flour. If it begins to get too crumbly then allow the dough heat up in your hands, this will help hold it together. Any simple Gingerbread Recipe will do here and we found 'icing writing tubes' handy too (available from most supermarketings in the baking section). If you're looking for an easy Gingerbread recipe then we think this one here is great!
Tumblr media
Shortbread Festive Shapes
It cannot be argued that 'Sally's Baking Addiction' blog doesn't give the BEST cookie recipes and this one is no different. Sally herself has spent year tweaking her recipes to make them absolutely foolproof and delicious. If you don't have Christmas themed cookie cutters then you can pick some up online for a good price. We've linked some cute ones here. Kids always love decorating cookies with different colour icing, sprinkles, chocolate - the decorating is usually the most fun part!
Festive Colourful Pinwheels
If you're looking for something with a little more colour then these festive pinwheels are bright and fun - and don't require the finicky sugar sprinkles for decorating (yes they're delicious.. but if you've ever cleaned up after a child who's decorated a cookie then you'll understand why this here is attractive for the parents)!
Choc Fudge Crinkle Biscuits
Now here we have a cookie that is visually appealing, a hit with both kids and adults, and one of the big perks is: NO ROLLING REQUIRED! I'm sure you'll all agree that less mess is always a bit of a win when it comes to baking. This mixture is rolled into little balls in your hands and then placed on a tray - pretty fool-proof, and the end result is excellent. So that means no flouring a surface and rolling out your dough, checking if its too sticky, too dry.... the big clean up after - none of that! This is a great recipe if you're looking to make something quickly with the kids but don't have the time for a full-scale clean-up afterwards.
Christmas Pudding Cookies
Chocolate shortbread, white chocolate on top - what's not to love here? This simple cookie mixture uses just one shape- a round cutter, so it's a good one to go for if you don't have any Christmas cookie-cutters - you could simply use the end of a glass instead. This no fuss recipe means you'll most likely have all the ingredients already in your house too. The melted chocolate on top gives it such a cute effect. Emily Leary aka 'A Mummy Too' has a delicious straight-forward shortbread recipe which you can find here

I'm not good with cooking. Is there any meals you can cook in a microwave?
Ask Mirielle about Cooking and Food
I survived mostly on cup ramen and microwaved ramen during my stove-less stint. And of course, the occasional egg.
The most traditional microwave food is probably ramen. Just dump it in a bowl, add the packet, and heat it up while covered for 3-4 minutes-ish (boiling) and wait 3 minutes. The good thing is that you could add other ingredients to it like sesame seeds and some onions to add more flavor to it too.
---
Eggs are a little more involved to cook in a microwave, but it's doable. I have provided a video since people might appreciate a more visual show than just my written description.
youtube
Scrambled Eggs:
Add cooking spray to a bowl.
Dump the eggs in and stir.
Add some cooked or vegetable toppings (don't expect to cook actual meat with this)
Heat the eggs in a microwave on High for 60 seconds. Stir as needed.
Heat again in 20 second intervals until it reaches the doneness you want.
Over-and-Easy Egg:
Preheat plate for 2 minute on High.
Add cooking spray or butter to plate to coat.
Add the egg on.
POKE A SMALL HOLE IN THE EGG YOLK TO PREVENT EXPLODING.
Cook on High for 45 seconds. And then cook in 15 second intervals until the white sets.
The video described poached eggs which was not something I tried myself, and I'll probably try later on, so use with caution.
---
On the internet, there also interesting recipes for microwave food. Just don't expect to actually cook meat with it.
I'm not a baker myself, but I'm pretty sure one would be appalled by the microwave mug cake, but it seems like it would work from the recipe. That, and it's meant to be low spoons, so it works if you want a baked sweet treat.

Without access to shops except once a week, I’m “pioneer woman-ing”. Today’s lesson from @leithscooking was egg emulsions - such as mayo. Great to add to my stock. Plus I made a bunch of these crusty, delish babies courtesy of the NYT cooking app. This is the best bread ever - and probably one of the easiest too. #bread #brood #nytimescooking #crustybread #mayonnaise #emulsion #leithsonline #homemade #storecupboard #cookingessentials #homemadeisbest #tuisgebak #lepain https://www.instagram.com/p/CAS5cTEgVfV/?igshid=ohzyixf1u2w7

Food for when you’re broke (or in a pandemic)

My own recipe - Thai Curry Prawns (serves 4)  4 tbsp thai red curry paste 4 tbsp peanut butter (smooth) 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp soy sauce Juice of 1 lime handful chopped coriander  1 x 400ml can coconut milk grating of fresh ginger 400g prawns (defrosted if frozen)  Put all the ingredients except the prawns into a pan and heat on medium until the sauce has thickened and come together. Add the prawns and cook for 5 - 10 minutes depending on how large they are (they will change colour when cooked). Serve with rice or noodles or whatever you like!  You can freeze this by making the sauce and letting it cool, then spooning out into tupperware. Add the raw (and not previously frozen) prawns and seal the tupperware - write on that it is and the date you froze it - and when you want to eat it simply defrost in the fridge and follow the instructions above.  Sainsbury’s Magazine - Gnocchi, Ham and Pea Gratin  https://www.sainsburysmagazine.co.uk/recipes/mains/gnocchi-ham-and-pea-gratin

Even when they are regularly and plentifully fed by their trainers, delibirds don't lose the instinct to forage and gather. In more rural areas, it is easy enough to let them explore woodland and bring back various nuts, roots, and berries - though it is important to check the contents of their tail regularly, as well-fed delibirds have a tendency to hold onto food so long that it spoils.
If the delibird can't forage outside, it will reproduce this behaviour inside the house. Should you ever find your pantry dwindling, be sure to inspect your delibird's tail, as your vanished storecupboard herbs or insant ramen may be found in there. On the plus side, it is never difficult to recover any stolen food, as delibirds are all too willing to share.

Once again, nothing terribly exciting, but filling and warm. Mustard made it more interesting, I wouldn't have thought to add it but it worked really well! Added some fresh cheese on top.
