heyy, we love a stalker around here <3. welcome. I hope what you found satiated you at least a little!! Absolutely you can!! This is actually really funny because I've been thinking about our favorite mist nin lately. Your message is a sign for me to do something about that haha. (Find the Sasuke ones here.) Here's what I have so far:

His favorite colors are light purple and "aqua bluish-green" (he doesn't know the actual name so that's what he calls it but it's a very specific shade. it's Kandinsky Turquoise the color of his water bottle)

His toxic eating habit that drives Sasuke absolutely crazy is that he eats cup noodle ramen with a fork. That's the only thing he uses a fork for.

He really only likes the seafood cup noodle flavor but will steal Juugo's curry flavor just because he can.

His favorite flavor of yogurt is white peach

He doesn't like plain mint toothpaste and always gets pineapple flavor (that's a thing in Japan)

His favorite indoor pastime is video games. Surprisingly he likes adventure ones that are more story focused and less violent.

He has a huge collection of indie records, all on vinyl, that he got from Mangetsu. He’s listened to all of them and has all the track lists memorized.

His favorite Ramen flavor is Tonkotsu

He was in the water polo club in middle and high school.

His favorite manga are Chainsaw Man (I picked this for vibes only, I haven't read it) and One Piece

Has an abnormally large collection of swim trunks with a wide range of patterns but always wears the same ones except on rare occasions.

Is notorious for stealing other people's bathing products (shampoo, body wash, you name it) without asking. has used Karin's too which made her so mad. Sasuke has not noticed that he does this yet.

Would sleep in the nude if he could. (all of his friends have told him no)

Learned how to skateboard from his brother Mangetsu, knows a wide range of tricks and is really good at it

Does not like wearing socks

omg i adore team taka altho i feel i don’t even have the most particularly interesting headcanons for them LOL a lot of them will be design headcanons bc thats what i normally think of as an artist hehee uhm.. i’ll start with suigetsu bc i love suigetsuuuuu

for suigetsu as shown in my drawing of him from today i like the thought of him dying the tips of his hair blue….. the way the anime shades his hair is far too cool to accept it’s shading and not act like those are dyed tips….

like cmonnnnn the blue tips are the coolest thing in the world. it is NOT shading TO ME ☝️☝️☝️☝️ also i didn’t draw this in my recent suigetsu bc i forgot when i was drawing it 😢😢 but i do imagine he has scabs on his lips and around his mouth often from accidentally biting his lip T.T sometimes i bite too hard and draw blood i can only imagine having sharp teeth and doing that T.T also he wears smudged eyeliner. uh this ones maybe kinda obvious but to me he doesn’t have much of a sense of boundaries and doesn’t have much shame in his body so T.T being his roommate would be a constant battle to make sure he walks around the apartment in *some* clothes. like by everything holy just *something*

this one is absolutely not based at all but it’s my brain and i can do to jūgo as i please with it ☝️☝️ and i like to imagine jūgo likes to wear accessories on his head a lot. like hair clips, hats, maybe he starts growing it out a bit more and ties parts of it up. it catches little birdies attentions more too which he enjoys and is a bonus other than it just being cute to me. to me he’s also the friend that carries around a big bag to hold everyones shit in when they get tired of carrying their own stuff. like yeah man just toss it in… it adds nothing i already have anything you could imagine in here anyways. y’know y’know. most of my jūgo headcanons are not based at all ajksjsjss i’m sorry but i also like to imagine he might pick up smth like woodworking/carving maybee knitting/crotchet (but i lean most towards wood carving) to keep himself distracted and occupied. less likely to have episodes and intrusive thoughts for him. obviously doesn’t stop everything but it helps the tiniest but plus it’s fun :) i think if he were to do carvings and stuff he’d give like a few to his friends if it was smth they specifically liked but i think he kinda likes and prefers to just leave them around, to either be lost to time or be found by someone else! i think he has lots of scars on his hands and knuckles— between the wood carving and his rampages i think his hands take quite the damage. and y’all know i like scars so i ignore any jutsu that may deter scar creation so to me he defo gets scars. except suigetsu’s jutsu actually.. i dont think suigetsu gets scars at all.

i like to imagine karin with a bunch of neat kind of earrings. anything fun/funky. also she has one industrial piercing too to me.. sasuke has two of them but karin had one before she knew sasuke did 😭😭 just a coincidence she swears she swearssss. this one would like.. technically be canon anyways in the first half but bc of all the bite marks she has n stuff her skin would be suuuper bumpy… i think she probably doesn’t like people touching her cause strangers/non team taka end up commenting on how gross it is T.T she prolly wears long sleeves as much as she can. which i rlly don’t know much about boruto but i think long sleeves in that one is canon too. i like to work with out of canon clothings so even then if i end up starting a karin fashion board it would have strictly long sleeve outfits in it. also i like to imagine her with some vocal tics. i dont imagine her with tourettes but just a small tic disorder. i think she mostly does like clicking sounds and hums… not any words or anything :) also i feel like her eyesight is just constantly getting worse and worse. i imagine she’s legally blind but still it gets worse. when she’s older like maybe her 50s or 60s she goes blind and just relies on only sensing ppls chakra to know who’s around w/o asking. i mean she heavily relies on that anyways even when she does have eyesight.. i like to just think she uses it a lot instead of straining her eyes when her prescription starts changing.

uhm and for sasuke some more team taka centred headcanons instead of just some hcs in general… i mean i’ll just state the obvious here because soooo many ppl tend to ignore this but. team taka are sasukes best friends…. not the rest of the konoha 12… so jot that one down. i feel like even when they branch off and do their own thing (again idk anything about boruto none of that is canon to me akshjshsjsjs so don’t be like “uhmm well actually 🤓🤓”) they like to keep in contact. even if not often they’ll send messages. i like to think if they’re aware they’re gonna end up being somewhere near-ish the others they’ll all go out of their way to pay a visit. uh also i DONT think this actually happened like it’s not a headcanon of mine but i do think the thought of suigetsu being sasukes first (very short term) bf is a funny thought…. it does not last tho cause anytime they’re tryna talk about sweet things and their thoughts sasuke just talks about naruto T.T again i dont actually headcanon that happening but it is a funny thought to me… uhm also i don’t particularly think there’s a moment in which this would end up happening but i do think that out of all of team taka sasuke trusts jūgo the most to just… have a personal conversation with. like he doesn’t go out of his way to ever talk about personal shit with him, but i think if a situation were to come up in which he had to/felt like he needed to i think jūgo would be the one he’d go to c:

most importantly no matter how much they do argue with each other team taka does all love eachother.. and they certainly stay friends for life. even if they don’t talk much i think they will all always consider them a group of friends that they can just send messages to without the thought of it being strange after it being so long. it doesn’t even have to be some kind of important message either. just a little random message whenever they think of it.

Ship It | Don't Ship It

1. What made you ship it?

the parallels, oh my god the parallels. both of them are the younger sibling of a deceased prodigy who was a child soldier. both are prodigies in their own rights whose passion for their art (swordsmanship for suigetsu, the ninja arts in general and being a competitive little shit who likes to fight for sasuke) was corrupted and exploited by the shinobi system. both were abducted for their hiden ability and kekkei genkai respectively.

but more than their similarities, their differences are what make the parallels truly work. sasuke is clearly suigetsu's moral compass, and in team taka they're the only ones who explicitly want revolution/radical change due to being outraged by the injustices surrounding and affecting them, rather than being motivated by loyalty like juugo and karin. however while sasuke is direct about his ideals and sets the team's goals, suigetsu is deeply emotionally repressed about his morals, so he chooses to be a follower: he relies on sasuke (rather than his own morals) to guide him and stop him from killing; he tells the imprisoned people in oto that sasuke is going to save the world; he's disappointed in the five kage summit arc when sasuke starts to abandon his pacifism.

I’ve never really thought about them like that tbh. I adore them both separately. A fun rarepair for sure, but if they’re gonna live in my head together, they’re gonna pay rent.

2. What would have made you like it?

Maybe a bit more development between them on the canon end? Like, give me a chapter/arc of dudes being dudes and inventing intricate rituals allowing them to touch each other’s skin. There’s potential here, but it’s untapped.

3. Anything positive to say about it?

Sasuke and Suigetsu to me are like pineapples and pizza. I LOVE pineapples and I LOVE pizza, but I eat them separately, the way god intended.

Out of all the times for General Gorou to be pent up and thinking about your touch, in the middle of a mission is quite possibly one of the worst. Why is it your touch specifically, your hands, that keep replaying over and over in his head?

Well, he thinks he knows the answer to that. You two are comrades and very close friends, yes, but ever since a drunk night after a victory banquet led to you kissing him, your relationship become far more romantic in nature. It wasn't something you discussed with other shoulders, but to call you his lover- and, if the plans he has discussed with Kokomi went well, his soon-to-be fiancée- wouldn't be an untrue statement. Now, as he makes his rounds to make sure everyone else is set, he feels your eyes roaming over him like a cat eyeing its prey. He knows you can tell how pent up he's been- you know him too well.

As the sun begins to sink in the sky, the group starts to set up their tents. The mission is to investigate the passages below Suigetsu Pool, as there have been reports of rumbling and disturbances. But with the crumbling structure here, the soldiers have plenty of room to spread out, and some can even set their tents up in rooms of the ruins, adding more privacy. Gorou supposes he shouldn't be surprised that you choose to set up in one of the more enclosed rooms of the old stone building, but acknowledging why you might be doing it puts leaden butterflies in his stomach and sets his tail wagging anxiously.

He enters the tent as you're laying out sleeping bags and lighting a small lantern that, honestly, doesn't provide much light. The light is enough for him to see your face, though, and the way your eyes watch him in a way he's come to love and hate. He settles down onto the sleeping bag you've rolled out for him to begin unfastening his armor, but he knows full well he won't be sleeping in it tonight with the way you make sure he's looking before you start to undress. Just the sight of your bare torso as your top is discarded makes him freeze.

"Gorou~"

Your voice pulls him out of his staring, and he flushes, one ear twitching. "Y-Yes- sorry, I...um...yes?"

Your quiet laugh sends shivers down his spine.

"Come over here?"

It's almost embarrassing how quickly he scrambles to obey, finishing up removing the half-top that covers his shoulders and coming to sit inches away from you. Absentmindedly, you reach out and ruffle his hair; a sign of approval that he much appreciates.

"Did you...need me for something?" He asks, trying very hard to keep his voice steady as your eyes meet his. The hand you had buried in his unexpectedly fluffy hair comes back down to rest on his thigh, an easy place to reach given he's kneeling.

"Just wanted you over here. I thought it would be a crime to waste the opportunity we've been given. Out on a mission, but still able to stay in what's essentially a room? Away from prying eyes?"

You lean forward and catch his chin in your hand, bringing his face closer to yours til there's barely any space between your lips and his. To his credit, he's managing not to shake too badly, though his hands are still restless in his lap and his cheeks are quickly approaching red.

"I know you've been all worked up, hon. And how often do we get the chance for uninterrupted quality time?"

He tries to say, "Not often," but your lips are on his in a flash and all he manages is "Not." He's not complaining, though. Your kisses start deceptively gentle. Before long, though, he's gripping onto your shoulders as you nibble on his bottom lip. Your hand has moved again, this time from his thigh to his slender waist to pull him closer til he's practically in your lap. Your fingers are starting to slide into the waistband of his pants and the way they're dragging down his back makes him shudder.

Your other hand manages to sneak its way up into his hair, stroking the outer edge of his ear, and he jolts. The little motion makes you chuckle, something that deepens the blush on his face. The sensation of your fingers brushing against his ear- and his subsequent reaction- makes him want to melt into the floor.

But you keep doing it.

You keep rubbing the soft fur of his ears until he whines, getting bold enough to climb into your lap completely. He's all too aware that he's putting himself at your mercy, but he can't find it within himself to care. You're quick to take advantage of this, the closeness allowing you to cover his exposed neck and collarbone in kisses and the occasional bite. At this point, his head is in the clouds, and he doesn't even notice the sounds he's making.

These words, though, manage to slip through the haze in his mind. He starts to respond but your hand on his thigh is sliding up further and further until you're palming him through the fabric of his pants and there is not a single word in his head. Between that and the hand still toying with his ears, he doesn't know which sensation to focus on.

Gorou can't help bucking his hips into your hand, the low whines coming from him getting higher in pitch. When he realizes they aren't telling him some fucked up joke, he very seriously asks them what they want to do about it.

The switch flipping from "gleeful menace" to "concerned partner" is jarring, honestly.

If his s/o chooses to terminate the pregnancy, he will be there for them for whatever they need. He doesn't voice an opinion one way or the other - it's not his body, and he doesn't really have a stable life to give to a kid. It's one thing to drag around his consenting adult s/o into his nonsense, but he's a bit relieved to not have to figure out adding a kid in the mix.

However, if his s/o decides to go through with the pregnancy, he's there for that, too.

For all that he could have been fine with not dealing with the responsibilities of fathering a kid, he's kind of jazzed to have the opportunity. God, that thing is going to love swords.

Suigetsu is absolutely not a helicopter dad before or after the birth. He's more of the mindset that the strong survive. He'd actually delight in finding out he has one kid, but they ate their twin in the womb.

Shisui

Gets weird immediately.

Weird and intensely intense.

He's up in there wanting his s/o to know he supports whatever they choose to do with their body, but by god, he'd raise a kid. He'd do it alone, if that's what his s/o wanted.

It's not that he's super confident about being a stellar father, but rather, he's really romanticizing the idea of putting something good into the world.

Let's hope the s/o wants to raise the kid with him, or else there's some serious idolatry and complexes coming at them real fast.

Shisui takes out every parenting book he can get his hands on and compares the parenting methods in order to find the optimal child-rearing situation.

His ideal scenario is that he retires, or at least takes a few years off, and becomes a house husband.

Shisui helicopters from the shadows. The kid won't even realize it until they can sense a jonin like Shisui suppressing his chakra, so...given that they're a spawn of his, it'll be a sweet 8 years or so of Shisui being able to lurk behind his child.

It's been a while since the other anon, but I would go with Karin with team 10, because I think her and Ino being loud and violent together would be an adorable fridndship~ Juugo with team Gai to match with their taijutsu AND make their breaktimes quiet and soft with birds around them~ And Suigetsu with team 8 because he and Kiba would 50/50 either become a great pair of friends OR petty rivals~

So I know in cannon all the countries are treated as if everyone speaks the same common language (I get it makes story telling easier) BUT lately I've had the brain worm of IF each country did have its own language to go with it's culture....what accents would Taka have?

This made me think about how Sasuke gets a lot of comments about how he's "clearly from Konoha" and in canon it's always because he's a softie or whatever (which, we've all seen how Konoha is, we know being soft isn't a trait that's from there) but what if it's actually because when he speaks he has a very distinct Konoha accent that he never really lost despite years away? And he could lose it, he has a good enough ear to pick up a different accent but what if it's not exactly a Konoha accents so much as it's the Uchiha accent. Because they lived in such a condensed environment there's no way they wouldn't have their own way of speaking that's similar enough to Konoha to get mistaken for it by those who don't know but still different. Sure, this means everyone who meets him will know where he came from but he refuses to lose the accent because it's the way his mother talked, his father talked, his aunts, uncles, and cousins talked. It's the way his brother talks, and it's another reason he's so easily recognizable as an Uchiha.

Suigetsu knows this and respects it (heck, he has a strong Kiri accent that he's not losing because it's where he's from and he wants people to know) but still definitely teases him about it sometimes. That one time he said "you really are from Konoha" wasn't actually commenting on Sasuke's no killing policy, he was saying "your accent is showing, dude" jkjk.

As for the rest of Taka, I'm not sure how their accents would compare to the ones we have in our world but I do think that Karin would have a southern accent. In my experience southern accents in the languages I know tend to be wider, have more tonal ups and downs, be more dynamic, and carry a lot of emotion which I think would be perfect for Karin. She usually speaks standard* but will slip into her native accent when she's emotionally charged. Only Sasuke and Juugo understand her when this happens, Suigetsu does not.

*Standard being what most people communicate with outside of small villages and in large cities with lots of import/export. It probably started in the Land of Fire and then was generally accepted across the rest of the major 5 nations. Other smaller nations don't use it that much but it is used in Otogakure because Orochimaru is from Konoha. Even though he probably uses old standard so no one understands him anyway.

Suigetsu has a Kiri accent which...probably sounds slightly sinister and a little slippery. It's a fairly well respected accent in the business world because Kiri is known for the quality of their assassins but is heavily associated with organized crime so if you have it civilians won't really trust you.

Juugo has a more rural, rough accent that comes from limited exposure to "modern" civilization and a lot of exposure to mountain villages and farmers (not helped by his time in the northern hideout where most everyone spoke the same except for the employees) He can't speak standard and is embarrassed about it and how rough his language sounds so he doesn't speak a lot at first. His accent is hard to understand for most people in the 5 great nations because it's so rural, but people from smaller countries like the land of birds get it. Sasuke understands it but only because he traveled to the northern hideout with Orochimaru a lot.

I'm not sure if this correctly corresponds with where each member is from geographically and how the language would be there, tbh I feel like the linguistics of the elemental nations + other countries could be a whole study in and in of itself, but these are my current thoughts on the topic. It's such a fascinating idea and I'll definitely be thinking about it more.

What do you think of Aizen Sosuke and Urahara Kisuke from Bleach? Have it ever crossed your mind that they have some narrative resemblance (The Strongest Vs The Intellectuals) to Gojo and Geto in JJK? I'm curious about your thoughts :) The

Happy Bleach Monday! A new meta every monday! Thank you for the ask. 

You’re right to point that out anon, actually I’ve always read Kisuke Urahara and Aizen Sosuke as two sides of the same coin closer to one another than anyone else despite being on opposite sides of the combat. Urahara says the above quote in reference to Mayuri, but Mayuri, Aizen, and Urahara are all similar in that they value their minds above all else. Also, Urahara having a read on a character as amoral as Mayuri is really telling. 

1. The View from On Top

This meta will largely be about Urahara himself because he’s a much more well rounded character, but Aizen is a good lens for reading Urahara because Aizen himself is the first person to make the comparison between them. Aizen Mr. God Complex in a rare show of humbleness even admits that Urahara’s mind is better than his. 

They both complete partial (incomplete) Hogyoku’s, they both conduct experiments on others (without their permission), in fact Urahara’s Hogyoku is so much better than Aizen’s, that Aizen had to concoct a plan to steal it. 

Ichigo using Tense Zangetsu is the one who beats down Aizen, by sacrificing all of his spirit energy in order to temporarily grow stronger than him, but, even finaln Getsuga is not enough and the one who truly defeats Azien is Kisuke by outwitting him with a long term strategy, and choosing to seal him rather than kill him. 

You could even go so far as to say that the one Aizen was truly doing battle against was Urahara, everyone else involved in the fight are just soldiers in their conflict. Kisuke relied on Ichigo to weaken Aizen enough that his sealing Kido would take effect, but it’s Kisuke who had the winning plan. Aizen also, acknowledges very few people, even his strongest allies, but Kisuke is one of them. Ichigo even speculates that the reason Aizen wanted to conquer soul society was because of his desire for an equal, that his extreme power and intelligence only served to isolate him from the moment he was born, and he confides this in front of Urahara... 

While Urarhara looks on with a melancholy expression on his face but decides to hold his tongue, almost like he can understand what Aizen feels in his isolation. 

Their intelligence isn’t the only quality they share, but also how their intelligence isolates them, because that influences all of their decisions. To reiterate: it’s almost like Aizen and Kisuke went to war with each other over the course of the Hueco Mundo arc as a whole, because the way Kisuke acts is less like an ally fighting on the same side, and more like a general. 

To add onto this, Yammamoto himself is in charge of Soul Society because he’s the oldest and the strongest, but he’s not exactly a strategic fighter, he’s led around by the nose the entire Soul Society arc by Aizen because he’s too traditional and refuses to adapt. 

Kisuke as a general though, it shows in how he treats people on his side. If Aizen sees everyone as a tool for his potential conquest, he doesn’t ask, he manipulates them, loyalty means almost nothing to him. This even reflects in his Shikai release, Kyoka Suigetsu is a sword of perfectly illusion, he has an absolute control over whoever sees his release. 

Urahara mirroring him, manipulates his own allies countless times. He makes decisions on his own, and he never informs them of these decisions. Even when he has good intentions, he never trusts them enough to let them be in the know. 

He inserts the Hogyoku into Rukia’s soul, never bothering to tell her this fact, which leads to the entire soul society arc. Aizen’s manipulations might have been revealed earlier if Ichigo and friends were working with a full set of facts, remember from the beginning Rukia’s execution was seen as an overreaction to a more minor offense. However, everyone went along with it due to Aizen’s manipuations in slaughtering the governing body of soul society, and forcing an execution in order to remove the Hogyoku from her soul. 

It’s not just about not trusting though, when Urahara simply chooses not to tell people about his plans, he takes their choices away from him. Keeping these secrets is a manipulation because it removes their ability to tell him no, or choose to not cooperate with him. Urahara’s harsh decisions also have a pretty serious consequence. Another instance is with Orihime. 

Urahara’s actions in telling Orihime to stay away from the battlefield are borne out of a fear that Aizen will see Orihime and take an interest in her power. His intentions in telling her to stay away from the front lines are to protect her. However, rather than just tell her the real reason why he thinks she should stay hidden something she probably would have agreed with if she was told the full story he just chooses once again to tell her off in the cruelest way possible. Getting Orihime to do what he wants and what is strategiaclly better is more important than Orihime’s choices and feelings. This also, has a consequence because Rukia encourages her to train and fight anyway, which attracts Aizen’s intentions and ends up with her getting kidnapped anyway. 

Aizen manipulates his allies and make their choices for them for the greater good (FOR THE GREATER GOOD). His actions mirror Aizen, their positions in the conflict are just opposite ones. As shown again by their final conrontation, both Urahara and Aizen have met and know the secret of the soul king, however Urahara fights in order to keep the balance of the world as it is currently and Aizen chooses to disrupt the balance of the world in order to change it.

Aizen’s goal is to replace the soul king, and in fairness to Aizen we don’t know what kind of ruler he would be, or if he thought that all of his ruthless actions would result in a better world, but it would come at the cost of the world that came before it. 

This is where I’m going to touch lightly on the follow up sequel novel CAN’T FEAR YOUR OWN WORLD, which is spoilers, but important for Bleach’s worldbuilding to explain context. The great twist of Can’t Fear Your Own World is that the soul king and lynchpin of Soul Society is a corpse. The Soul King was originally a person like Ichigo who had the abilities of a soul reaper, hollow, and quincy, who was betrayed by his companions and then pretty much crucified in order to divide the three worlds (human, soul society, hugeco mundo) and stabilitze them. Aizen’s goal is to pull that lynchpin out and destabilize the three worlds. 

Urahara on the other hand always stays on the side of maintaining the current balance. His allignment is always neutrality, and that may be why he always makes decisions that are aloof and cold with little respect to their agency. 

2. That’s What It Means to be a True Scientist

Urahara is alligned differently than Aizen by choosing balance, but his motivations what fuels his actions are not that different, once again revealed to us at the end of Can’t Fear Your Own World, in a brief conversation with Shuhei Hisagi, and then Yoruichi.

To explain further context Kisuke asks if he developed the Hogyoku to create a more perfect Konpaku (artificial soul) one that would be powerful enough to remove the corpse of the Reio so he would no longer have to serve as the lynchpin for the three world. However, after Hisagi is gone Kisuke admits a more honest truth. 

“Mr. Hisagi probably thinks that I created the Hogyoku for the Reio’s sake.”  “That’s not necessarily mistake though, right?”  There was both regret and self-derision in his words as Urahara looked back at his own past. “All I wanted to do was create something new. The goal for doing so was secondary. I just wanted to open a new door. I used the Reio as an excuse to open tha locked door. I simply followed my own desires... FUndamentally, I am no different from Mr. Kurotsuchi and how he sacrifices so many in order to fulfill his craving for research.”  “Kisuke, you...” “But, Ms. Hiyori did see through me. THat’s why, to take a neutral position... well to be accurate, it’s not neutral, but I decided to entrust some matters to a very soul reaper-like soul reaper.” His features softened then as he spoke about Hisagi. “When time comes that I really do become someone who could be called a villain, it would be best to leave someone behind who can defeninitely determine that I’ve sinned, right?” 

You could even say the reason Urahara always chooses balance over everything else is because he’s aware of his capability to become like Aizen, and is afraid of his more unsavory tendencies. If he always chooses to fight on the side of balance he’s minimizing the risk of harm someone like him can do to the world. The drawback of that though is it leaves Urahara as a rather stagnant person incapable of growth. 

Here’s where I return to Mayuri. Kubo once mentioned Mayuri is an example of a necessary evil, because for all of his amoral actions he is firmly on the side of Soul Society. Urahara is another, ruthless person who happens to be alligned with Soul Society’s benefit. Urahara is one the who recruited Mayuri in the first place, exactly aware of all the harm he was capable of doing, because he thought it would be to Soul Society’s benefit in the long runn. 

There’s one small difference between them though, in regards to their motivation for creating a Konpaku Soul. Hogyoku was originally created, to make a more perfect developed Konpaku (artificial soul) and Mayuri endeavors to do the same with Nemu. Mayuri’s motivations in creating Nemu are exactly the same as Kisuke’s, basically to see if he can do it. 

However, unlike Kisuke who remains relatively the same person, Mayuri’s feelings further evolve as he raises Nemu, and as poorly as he mistreats Nemu at times his feelings towards her clearly change into affection for her.

And in this regard, Mayuri believes he’s surpassed Urahara, because unlike the Hogyoku which was incomplete and had no identity, Nemu grew up into a person and grew up further into someone capable of evolving on her own. 

So, for all Mayuri may seem ruthless and amoral in regards to Urahara he’s also capable of seeing Nemu as her own person in a way Urahara probably never could. 

Anyway, I hope that answers your question. Urahara is one of my favorite bleach characters so I love to talk about him with a little more depth than usual, because a lot of his characterization is hidden in the subtext much like how Urahara himself is quite a two faced person.

Yeah that's actually a very good point. I didn't think about the onsens, which is surprising when considering just how extremely commonly they are used in Japanese anime and manga.

Hello, dear anon. It's a very creative prompt! I love these types of scenes as well, can't deny. The protective trope is golden. I don't know if I will write what you have imagined for this prompt, but I will try my best to write something entertaining, and I hope you like it! ^^

My style of writing is filled with lots of details because that's how I like it, but I will try not to write this one too long or with too many details. It's going to be a challenge for sure.

Here it goes:

Naruto doesn't know how it got to this. Really. If you'd asked him a few days ago if a situation like this was even a possibility, surely he would have laughed straight in your face from the ridiculousness of it all.

It started out as a simple, regular occurrence. He began hearing certain rumors. Because of course, this is how an ordinary person finds out even the smallest hints of information about their so-called best friend. From whispers instead of a normal, easy-to-send letter.

Note the sarcasm. Naruto would like to tear his hair off sometimes. Truly.

But the whispers. They're powerful, and spread at a rapid pace - especially when it concerns a person as influential and well-known as Uchiha Sasuke. Most of the time, Naruto tries to not mind them. As far as you can say they're powerful, you can also add the word 'exaggerated' to them when it comes to talking about a former missing-ninja who challenged a Five Kage conference and joined the war on their side later on.

But the thing about all this is, once a rumor starts it also goes. That is what he uses to distinguish between them. The truly ridiculous ones don't stick too long, so he snorts at them and moves on.

But this one - now, this one seems to be seeping from every goddamn person ready to mutter it. It doesn't want to leave, as absurd as it is, and it was driving him nuts. Gosh, so nuts.

Sasuke had found a traveling partner. And he's very fond of him, they say.

Naruto is losing his mind, for real. He's going off his goddang rocker.

First of all - A traveling partner? The asshole had been very adamant that he needs to travel alone on this repenting journey of his. And very fond of him? Who? Uchiha I Need No Love Sasuke? Having some kind of positive feeling about someone? O possible stranger? Naruto is pretty sure this person is no one he knows. Not Suigetsu, or Karin, or a Konoha Ninja. What. Is. Going. On.

He feels like the chakras of the world are unbalanced somewhere. In his toes, that's where he feels it.

But whatever, he told himself at first. If Sasuke really got close to someone and doesn't want to tell a soul about it, doesn't want to write to Naruto outside of the very few meetings they've had since the war ended, then Naruto will let it be. Everything is peaceful now, and they are on good terms even if he feels like their friendship is there just in name these days. He'll let it be.

That really was the plan: to let it be. He swears.

But then, Kakashi had the audacity to give him his typical smile and say that he needs him on the road, and somehow Naruto finds himself, days later, staring at Sasuke's surprised face and the handsome, purple-haired man lounging next to him curiously over a long bar counter in a dingy tavern.

He doesn't last a second there. You can't ask him why, for he doesn't really have an answer to give. Not one to be into words. Naruto just rushes out of the place after he feels his lungs giving out, and tries to go back to what he has to do. It doesn't matter. It doesn't. Sure, the rumour apparently is true. Sasuke has found someone to travel with. But it doesn't matter-

"Naruto." A rough hand catches his wrist, and he turns around to meet a familiar gaze of darkness that he's met millions of times before without any remorse, with no effort. Naruto swallows, and he meekly thinks to himself:

It does matter, after all.

So this is how he ended up traveling for a bit with one Sasuke Uchiha and his annoying companion who seriously makes Naruto question if going from War Hero to S-rank Criminal is worth it, and that just for the way he gives Naruto side glances and meaningless smiles while he jumps playfully around Sasuke. Curious enough, though, is the way Sasuke keeps himself tense the entire time, like a poisoned arrow ready to bolt at any moment.

They don't end up talking a lot while on the road, not while they're jumping trees to cross distance, and Naruto truly doesn't mind for once, even though for sure, in other circumstances, he would have had so many words to give him oldest friend, so many he wants to hear back from him.

Let's say, it all kind of explodes when they stop for a break under the shade of a big tree.

"So this is the renowned Uzumaki Naruto I've been hearing so much about," the purple-haired man begins, taking a step closer to Naruto.

Leaving his backpack on the ground, Naruto somehow feels the need to take a step back, but refrains from doing so. "Yea? And you are?"

He doesn't expect the sharp grin he receives, or the sudden flare of chakra he man lets out. Animalistic and prepared. "If you want to know my name you'll have to earn it-"

Before Naruto can truly comprehend the words or the urge to punch this asshole back where he came from, Sasuke flickers in front of him with a silver glint of his katana, and suddenly, the only intent of fighting around is coming in slow waves from the blood-red stare Sasuke fixates on the man.

"Isamu," the Uchiha says slowly, like the rumble of a shockwave. "Touch him in any way, and I'll kill you on the spot. Understood?"

The man - Isamu - is looking down at the length of Sasuke's blade with wide, round eyes, not even daring to gulp with its tip pressed against his throat. As if in a trance, he lifts his hands up in surrender, and Sasuke retracts his katana the same way he brought it up - silently, before he steps to the side and goes to continue whatever he was doing.

Naruto, honestly, is left staring at Isamu with as much shock as the man is showing on his petrified face. It's pretty clear not even one of them knows what the fck just happened.

Really, what just happened?

It's not until later, after some awkward hours of silence around a small fire, that Naruto gets to know the answer to that. Isamu offered to go find some more firewood, and Naruto does not waste the chance to turn towards his friend and hiss:

"What the h-"

Sasuke puts a long, pale finger to his lips, and Naruto clasps his mouth shut for a second, before frowning at the little glance Sasuke gives into the far-off forest, where Isamu disappeared.

"You're being weird," Naruto mutters softly, not before removing the cold finger from his mouth. It tingles where the contact has been made. Naruto ignores that, and shuffles closer. "But no, really, what was all that?"

Sasuke's stare is as complicated to understand as is it simple. "Nothing important. What are you doing around these parts, Naruto?"

"Oh, no," Naruto huffs, cheeks out, and pokes Sasuke in the chest. "I'm not saying shit until you explain some things to me."

With a slight heave, Sasuke tongues at his cheek. "These past months I've taken up the job of protecting a royal's son until he gets to a particular village."

Naruto blinks, looks into the forest, and gestures at it like a dumbass. Sasuke doesn't even nod; just an unimpressed look from him is enough confirmation.

"Ah," he slinks back against the tree trunk, shoulders easing from a tension he didn't even know he had. "He doesn't look like royalty."

"No, he doesn't," Sasuke mutters dryly. "And he doesn't act like one. He's like a shark in search of blood."

After a second-lasting contemplation, Naruto shrugs, grin sharp. "You didn't need to stop him. I could've taken him in a little fight."

"No, you won't."

He turns to jab the Uchiha in the ribs playfully, but is met instead with a hand against his jaw and a thumb pressing softly on his lower lip. Naruto stops breathing for a second.

"Promise me you won't," Sasuke says lowly, lifting his heavy gaze to Naruto's round, blue eyes. "Naruto."

"Alright," he whispers, like a heavy breath, and feels that thumb digging deeper into the delicate skin of his lip. "I won't. I promise."

Ooooki, I'm stopping here because I don't even know how many words I've written and it's supposed to be only a drabble. this is a very interesting prompt. I would like to actually write a whole one-shot for it one day. More developed and all. Sorry that it's not a lot of romance in it, uff, but it's late right now. I hope it's a little bit enjoyable to read. ^^ AND SORRY FOR THE MISTAKES JSHDSH it is not proofread.
