Febuwhump #4- Knife to the throat

“Schneep, get off him! What are you—!”

“No! Marvin, d-don’t touch him, j-just leave him. Let me just— Let me talk—” The hero’s sentence got cut short when the kitchen knife was pressed to his throat, he thickly swallows, his Adam apple bobbing up and down. However, the movement cause the knife to Knick the hero’s skin, a thin string of blood soon trickles out or the wound. Though, that was the least of his worries.

Jackie’s focus was on the crazed, hollow icy blue eyes staring down on him. How there was no sign of recognition towards the hero. Jackie could’ve easily knock the knife out of Henrik’s hand and hold him down, but the bandages covering his body… how thin and delicate he looked. He was too afraid to place any sort of pressure and risk hurting Henrik.

“S-Stop wearing his face. Stop wearing his face. Stop it.” Henrik mumbled frantically, as if his life depended on it. His eyes moved fast, scanning the hero’s face, searching for something. But soon begins to violently shake his head. “No no no, it is all wrong. All wrong! Why mu-must you keep torturing…”

“Henrik, just breathe. Okay? Look at me. Hen, look at me.” Jackie instructed calmly, though he could hear his own heart hammering against his chest. “Sieh mich an.” The doctor stopped shaking his head as soon heard him speak in his mother language, and Jackie could only breathe out in relief.

Icy blues slowly clear, the haziness soon being replaced with familiarity. But now that Henrik was fully aware of what was happening, seeing the knife still pressed to Jackie’s throat. Noticing Marvin’s presence behind him, and his magic, ready to take action against him. Henrik soon drops the knife, the object clattering loudly against the floor. “I— I… J-Jackie…?” Tears begin to spill without permission, cascading down Henrik’s sunken cheeks. He stares at his scarred hands which where shaking tremendously. The thought that he could’ve killed his best friend…

“Hen, I’m alright. I’m alright, see? And you’re alright too. You’re home, remember?” Jackie speaks softly, fighting the urge to places his hands on his friends shoulder to comfort him. But he knew… he knew if he did that Henrik would spiral. “J-just keep breathing, okay?”

“I-I am so sorry, m-mein freund…” Henrik chokes out. “I-I could have.. I could have—“

“It’s okay, Hen. I promise you didn’t hurt me, and I didn’t wanna hurt you.” Jackie reassures, “Now, I’m going to stand. Is it okay if I help you back to bed?”

The doctor nods, silently appreciating Jackie for letting him now what he was doing to do. The guilt didn’t go away tho, especially when he felt Marvin still being on his guard behind him. Jackie gently hooks his arms under Henrik and scoops him up, carrying to the safety of his bedroom. After the events, it didn’t take the doctor long to fall asleep, and hopefully this time he wouldn’t be awaken by nightmares

Jackie lets himself into their apartment, sniffs the air, and sneezes.

The air smells- cold. Solemn as the grave, as it usually does; he's actually gotten used to the comfort of the weight of the atmosphere. Like a weighted blanket, he told Henrik. Atop that lies the heavier smell of abject fucking misery, and he likes that far less.

He sets down his bag, and peers around the room like it'll tell him where Henrik's gone. He can't hear anything, but the doctor is already terrifyingly quiet, and the smell doesn't tell him anything useful.

With another sigh, he tugs off his jacket, tossing it onto the chair. Henrik will scold him, but Henrik always scolds him, and then Jackie masterfully redirects him.

"Hen," he calls out into the quiet. "I'm back. No hello, how are you kisses?"

Even with wolf-sharp hearing, he can only hear a muffled garble of words in response, but still, Jackie perks up. There he is.

Henrik is, when he slips into their bedroom, bundled up under their weighted blanket and staring at the book in front of him; so much for reading, Jackie assumes. With a hum, Jackie approaches, collapsing onto his side of the bed; he doesn't try to touch Henrik just yet. There are bad days, and there are bad days. The soft mattress against his back does wonders for his screaming muscles, and he can't help but relax, ever so slightly.

"I know that page isn't that riveting that you'd ignore my arrival," he says, batting his eyes up at Henrik; Henrik doesn't even bat an eye. That's... still worrying. There should be a jibe, a jab, something.

He sighs, and offers his hand, palm up; Henrik will take it if he wants the touch. "Talk to me, Polaris. What's wrong? Is today's day-"

He pauses, wracking his brains. Shit, he didn't miss Henrik's turning-day, or something, did he? But no, it's well in the middle of November and that gods-forsaken day was in August.

Henrik does, to his surprise, reach out to take his hand, lacing their fingers together. He's cool, cooler than a regular human; Jackie's going to have to make sure he's not been forgetting to feed. Taking the opportunity, Jackie wiggles closer, pressing up to Henrik's side.

"It's not your turning day, as far as I know, work's been okay-?"

"I saw," Henrik says quietly, "someone I didn't expect to see. I told you about- in work, they transferred in someone I knew. Jack."

Jackie makes a noise of understanding. Henrik's talked about Jack very, very rarely; only on nights where he's half-drowsy from satiation or otherwise preoccupied. All he knows- all he knows is that this Jack had something to do with his turning.

He's trying not to make too many assumptions about that, brutal as Henrik's turning had been. It's entirely just as likely he was an innocent bystander in an otherwise horrific attack.

"And I'm assuming people came with him."

"Apparently," Henrik says, and the wet-mulch smell of misery only increases tenfold. Jackie flounders for a moment, and eventually sits upright so he can wriggle under the blanket with Henrik. In his defense, Henrik is running cold right now; he could use the extra heat.

"And this is...? A bad thing?"

"A reminder," Henrik says, and then lapses back into silence. Definitely a brooding mood. Jackie shakes his head, and curls around Henrik; Henrik is not a small man, and he can't quite nestle his head on the curve of his shoulder the way he usually would, but this has never stopped Jackie, and he's not planning on letting it stop him now.

"Is today a take-out and GATTACA night?"

Henrik pauses, and then sighs, the movement exaggerated enough that Jackie rocks a little with it. "If that was a pun about feeding on a date night..."

Jackie snickers. "C'mon. It wasn't even that bad. Had some real bite to it--"

"You're awful," Henrik tells him primly, turning to trap him in a headlock; Jackie wiggles with glee. Mission- distract boyfriend a resounding success, and he lets the wolf's pelt flow over him like a second skin as he twists to wrestle Henrik in turn. He can't- he can't fix this. He became a hero to help, and sometimes, he's learnt, it's just company that can help.

Henrik's not smiling, exactly, but those deep brown eyes are softening, softening- so he figures he'll take the victories where he can get them.

May 2024 Empties.

Bit of an odd month this one for me personally. The highlight was definetly seeing Tenacious D live though!

10 out of 10 the gig & I would defintely recommend seeing them live.

Empties wise, I got through quite a lot of stuff, so we'll move onto them.

Some of them are rebuys, so as usual, they won't be mentioned:

Nivea Sun UV Face Shine Control SPF 50:

SPF is so important to use. Not only can it prevent sunburn & damage from the UV rays etc, it also helps prevent getting skin cancer. I've been using this for a while now- it's specifically formulated to be used on your face, it's not heavy & it hasn't broken me out. I have oily skin & this helps mattify it.

Dr Paw Paw Overnight Lip Mask:

This I've also been using for a while- it's the little tube of it & I'm surprised how long it's lasted considering I've used it every night! I tend to use this to 'slug' my lips at night (ie using a lip balm then putting this over the top of it). It's helped keep my lips soft. It is very thick so I wouldn't recommend if you have a problem with thick things on your lips. It claims its lip plumping, but I haven't noticed that but it is amazing.

Soap & Glory In the Glow How Exfoilating Tonic:

I love this stuff so so much! A bottle of this can last me a good few months- I use it once a week (it suggests daily but that's a bit too much for me) & it leaves my skin looking & feeling super clean. The smell is also very orangey so that's something to be aware of if you don't like scents in skin products. I will be replacing this with the Pixi Glow Tonic (which I also love) as I tend to alternate between the two.

Simple Micellar Water:

Just a simple Micellar water. Same as the Garnier & Sainsburys one. Not much else to add really.

Me+ by Superdrug Niacinamide & Zinc Booster:

I really like this- & the added zinc is a bonus. It's not sticky (it's quite runny), though it does have a strong chemical scent. It does what it says it's does on the bottle & leaves my skin feeling soft afterwards.

Boots Everyday Zesty Lemon Shower Gel:

This performs as well as the other two shower gels that I've used by the Everyday collection from Boots- however, this one smells super lemony.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub:

This smelt more sweet lime than the body butter did! It's very scrubby, but it doesn't foam (than get quite messy as well though not as bad as thr coffee body scrub I used a few months back). I really do like Soap & Glory products which I think is pretty obvious.

And that's that for May. No makeup stuff, though who knows if that will change next month?

Story idea that I wanted to share with you. It's kinda sad so buckle up, but what if marvelsepticeye happens but Jackie cheats with Henrik and thus forming Superdrug, and both Chase and Marvin find out by complete coincidence and Marvin is super upset like he practically kicks jackie out, claiming how jackie "ruined his perfect vision of a happy life" with jackie (y'know him being a little overdramatic) and then slams the door in his face. Jackie soons realizes he has to make a choice, eithwr make amends with marvin and continue living in peace or stay with henrik and leave marvin in the past. He ultimately chooses henrik and chase goes over to comfort marvin at his place and then boom, superdrug happens completely.

:00 how dare you pit them against each other, I have a bias for Jackie x Henrik but the angst with Marv?? How dare!!

Also, do you mean they fuse together and become one person? Like my previous post?

Whumptober #11- Self-Done First Aid

“Doc, I’m fine. I swear I butt dialed you.”

“You… You used your butt to call me…? This is even more reasons for me to come over and help you.” Henrik sounds alarmed from the other end of the line. Jackie heard shuffling and Henrik talking to someone else. Something along the lines of leaving early and working longer some other day.

“Doc, doc, listen! I don’t need you to come, okay? I don’t need you.” Jackie snapped, ending the call before Henrik could respond back. The hero breathes in deeply, his hand ruffling his own messy brown hair before falling back on the couch. He tossed the phone towards the other end before picking up the already open med-kit. Trembling hands pick a thread and needle, the hero disinfects it before he brings it to the gash on his arm.

A shaky exhale slips from his lips, and he has to bite his tongue to avoid a short yell coming out once the needle pierced his skin. Jackie always hated doing this part, it made his stomach twist and turn, but this is what he had to do. At least that way he didn’t have to worry anyone. ‘Maybe if you let Henrik come then it would’ve been a bit more bearable.’ His inner self retorts, of course that would’ve been the smart way, but Jackie wasn’t the type to make smart choices when it came to himself.

Once he was done, he had the urge to lay down. Exhaustion had finally caught up to him, or maybe it was the fact that blood was seeping through the bandages he had sloppily wrapped around his torso. His vision became blurry, and at that point he had already fallen on his side. Indigo eyes slowly flutter to a close. Maybe a nap will help with the dizziness, right?
