MASTERLIST
Dentist Croatia
We breathe a weird air in motels Like an eternal arrival The stains on the beds go away with some Chanteclair There’s no lights in San Siro and we’re sons of an agnostic God Who believes in horoscope And when you die he doesn’t ask “Where are you going?”
Emily could not shake off the hell flashback she had in the panic room, even if it was so quick she could not figure out what was happening. She knew for sure Dean was in it and that it was painful. Not much more than that. She could not sleep much at night, haunted by nightmares about hell and about the week that immediately preceded it. Emily would mostly lie awake, staring at the ceiling, trying to not blink too much.
  She knew Dean was also awake most of the time, but she didn’t want to burden him with more problems. Especially not after Castiel had warned them about Sam taking a “dangerous road”. They didn’t know what it meant but they knew that it had something to do with what Azazel did to him and Emily as children. One night, restless, she decided to just go for a walk to shake those scary memories away, but was met with the vision of Sam on the doorstep.
“Where are you going?” She asked, inquisitive.
“Uh- just taking a walk.” Said Sam, way too suspiciously for Emily's liking.
“Right.” She noticed a woman in a car, waiting for him in front of the motel room. “And who’s that?” The second she said that, the woman walked out of the car and reached them.
“Sam, it’s alright. Maybe she can help.” She whispered. Sam looked back and forth in between the two women. Emily, confused, was waiting for an explanation. “Come on!” The woman dragged Sam away and he gestured to Emily to follow. Curious to see what was happening and hoping it wasn’t a weird sexual hang out, she followed the woman in the car.
“So, Sam, want to introduce me to your girlfriend?”
“She’s not-” He tried to say. The woman scowled at him. “Right, this is Ruby, Ruby, this is Emily.”
“Wait, Ruby as in-”
“Yes, the demon who gave you the knife. Nice to finally meet you.”
“I wish I could say the same. Sam, what’s happening?”
“Emily, she’s nice. Really.”
“Nice?!” She raised her eyebrows. “She’s a demon!” Ruby seemed slightly offended and annoyed. “Where are we going anyway?”
“I’ll show you.”
She took advantage of being in the backseat to send a blind text to Dean. It read: “GPS on, I’m with Sam.” and she prayed to every single entity she knew he would read it and understand it.
They stopped the car in an abandoned warehouse. Inside were two men tied to chairs.
“Sam,“ she stopped him from his arm and dragged him a dozen feet away. Ruby watched, restless. ”...what the hell is going on?”
“Okay, so you know how when people get possessed, they mostly die because they get stabbed, shot and such?”
”...or tied to a chair and tortured.” She pointed to the man. “Yes, and?”
“We are going to save this one.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Just- watch.” Sam jogged back in and she quickly checked her phone. Dean had answered her with a single “k”. She hoped he would hurry and reluctantly followed Sam inside the warehouse.
After a brief interaction with one of the two people sitting in the chair, who soon revealed themselves to be demons, Sam raised his hand and black smoke came out of the man. The vessel woke up, in pain but alive.
“Holy-” Sam looked back at Emily.
“So?”
“Sam, I saw and have done some weird ass shit, but this beats it all. And you’re working with a demon?!”
“Try to keep an open mind about this-”
“Absolutely not, this is too weird, even for me. And I can have you fly on the wall without even touching you!”
“I think you could do it as well.” Said Ruby, while helping the man.
“Me? Uh-uh. I- No, absolutely not! And of course you’re hiding shit from Dean. Of course! When will you two ever learn?”
“Don’t-”
“Don’t tell him? Right, Sam, I will definitely help you cover your love story with a fucking demon!”
Sam took a big breath and Ruby looked at him, concerned. “Look.” She said, “We’re not doing anything wrong here, we’re saving people. And you could do it too if you gave it a try. Word is you are even more powerful.”
“Word is wrong. And don’t you even try to talk to me like we’re friends.” Answered Emily, bitterly looking at her. “You are the lowest of the low.”
“You think you’re much better?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact, I do.”
“Right, the only thing you are missing is a pair of black eyes.”
“Don't you fucking dare-”
Emily was interrupted by a clanging sound behind a wall, which she was sure was Dean. The argument was interrupted as Ruby and Sam decided to leave.
Emily was on edge until she opened the motel door, and was about to start yelling at Sam again, but saw Dean staring at them angrily. Sam rolled his eyes.
Emily heard Sam’s voice in her head. Of course you told him.
What was I supposed to do? She instinctively turned to Sam, frustrated.
Keep your mouth shut!
You invited me in a threesome with a demon!
That’s not-
That’s exact-
“Alright, stop whatever psycho shit you’ve got going on and SPEAK!!” Dean’s voice startled both Sam and Emily, who immediately stopped silently gesturing at each other. “Sam, give one reason to not grab my shit and leave right now!”
“Look-” Tried to say Sam, but Dean quickly interrupted him by punching him.
“Dean!” Intervened Emily, trying to stop him from punching him again. As much as she knew it was a terrible moment to use her powers, the temptation of using them on Dean was very high, especially because she could not hold him back any longer and he hit Sam again.
“Satisfied?” Asked the latter, touching his nose. After that, Emily was finally able to push Dean back and stop him from his shoulder.
“Dean, come on- “ He shook her hands away and swallowed.
“Do you even know how far off the reservation you've gone? How far from normal? From human?” He asked, disgusted. Emily felt as if a little piece of her heart was cut away from her. She had the same powers as Sam, she had never hidden that. Did that mean that Dean felt that way about her? Did he think she was not human?
“I'm just exorcising demons!”
“With your mind!” Emily gave up on keeping them apart and just leaned on the wall. Dean gazed at her in a way she did not like. It was a gaze which said “I’ll deal with you later”.
But if he really thought she wasn’t human, why didn’t he ever say so?
Was that the real reason he was so hostile after Sam died?
“What else can you do?”
“I can send them back to hell. It only works with demons, and that's it.” Sam’s words seemed to re-ignite Dean’s anger so much he pushed his brother until he almost hit the wall.
“Dean!” Emily tried to intervene again. She recognized the same tone she had used to warn Dean when he started throwing beer bottles at the wall, almost two years prior. He seemed to have recognized it as well, because he stopped for a second to look at her. “Stop.” She repeated. “Please.” The second word came out more as a beg than a request. The feelings Dean’s yelling were giving her were unpleasant and too close to panic for her to stand there and watch. Dean, to Emily’s surprise, let go of Sam and turned around.
“I’m sorry, I should have said something.” Said Sam. “But look at the other side.”
“The other side?” Repeated Dean.
“I’m pulling demons out of innocent people!”
“Use the knife!”
“The knife kills the victim. What I do, most of them survive! Look, I've saved more people in the last five months than we save in a year.” The more Sam tried to explain himself, the more Dean seemed angry.
“That’s what Ruby wants you to think? Uh? Kind of like the way she tricked you into using your powers?”
“What about Emily, Dean?” Sam pointed at her. “She’s got powers, right? I don’t see you going around and calling her a monster!”
“For the love of Pete- First of all, keep me out of this. “ She said. “And second, I wasn’t convinced by a demon to use my powers, I had to learn how to use them because they were out of control!”
“And I have not said anything about you being a monster!” Added Dean.
“You didn’t need to say it.”
“What, you’re a mind reader now?”
“I don’t need to read your mind, I know you! I can see it on your face!”
“Right.” Said Dean, dismissive.
“So you’re not denying.”
“No. If I didn’t know you- I would want to hunt you.”
Emily covered her face with her hand as she felt her panic being overwritten by Sam’s sadness. “God, I hate this.” She whispered, trying to regain control of her own emotions. Dean quickly gazed back at her. “You were gone. I was here. I had to keep on fighting without you. And what I'm doing... It works.” When Sam spoke, Dean turned back at him again.
“Well, tell me. If it's so terrific... then why'd you lie about it to me?” Said Dean, walking forward. “Why did an angel tell me to stop you?” Another wave of Sam’s emotion reached Emily and for a second, she lost control. The mirror above the sink cracked. She mumbled a profanity under her breath and looked up, upset. “Castiel said that if I don't stop you, he will. See what that means, Sam? That means that God doesn't want you doing this. So, are you just gonna stand there and tell me everything is all good?” Dean and Sam’s argument was concluded by a phone ringing. Drawing a breath of relief, Emily sat on one of the two beds.
As Sam talked on the phone, Dean took a step back towards his sister. “Are you okay?”
“No, no-” she sighed, fighting tears back. “I forgot how fucking overwhelming this thing is.”

Sam didn't think anything of it at first. Everyone has had a weird dream or two about a family member. Sam was normal. Sam wasn't a freak. He brushed it off the next morning and tried to shut it out of his brain as best as possible. It didn't mean anything, it was just a dream. Sam has never thought of Y/N in that way and he never will. He was her brother after all.
As time passed by, the dreams frequented every other week. He figured the only reason he remembered those dreams so well in the morning was that it was unnatural. It was gross because it wasn't something that he was supposed to be dreaming about. He kept brushing it off.
The dreams grew more explicit and persistent, and there was a new problem that Sam had to deal with. He had woken up hard before, he's no stranger to morning wood, but this was something Sam couldn't shake off anymore. His erection didn't go away after he stretched, or brushed his teeth, or even after he got dressed, so he worked around his problem. He wore baggier clothes, something to hide his guilt behind. Sometimes Sam was lucky enough to have the pleasure of having enough time to fix it before school. He relied on the internet for porn and random scenarios in his head with the hottest girl in school until he had exhausted all of his options.
All of the sudden, nothing worked like it was supposed to. He woke up harder each morning after his recurring dreams about Y/N, so hard that it was painful for Sam. There were times where he didn't even care that he was going to be late for school, he needed some kind of relief. Then Sam feared the worst when he could no longer get off to porn or skin mags. He had never been attracted to a guy before, so why would it start once he was 18 years old? Fortunately and unfortunately for Sam, gay porn didn't solve his issue either.
Then one Saturday morning, Sam had an epiphany. He needed to confront his issue. He couldn't just think the dreams away, he needed to process them- he needed to find a sure way to get rid of them. So, instead of pushing it to the back of his mind, he began to think about his dreams. He thought logically, Y/N was his sister, therefore, she was not a viable option. Society condemns incest for multiple reasons, it just wasn't right. He thought illogically, even if he was into her- she'd never be into him the same way. Problem solved, there were too many obstacles in the way and Sam was a completely normal person anyway, he'd never want to have sex with his own sister. He was determined to not have another dream followed by a painful morning.
Sam was upset when his determination hadn't been enough. He had followed all of the correct steps, so why was he still having these dreams? The problem only worsened after he had allowed himself to think through and relive his dreams- he thought about them all day. He hadn't had the guts or courage to even consider using it to his advantage, that would make him a horrible person. Sam could live through his morning wood and keep his pride, but he couldn't live with the hard on he got when he thought about his dreams. He couldn't live with how different Y/N seemed lately, was she always this beautiful? Was she always this kind and caring towards Sam? Did she look the same naked as she did in Sam's dreams?
This new shame, guilt, and arousal persisted through the following weeks until he couldn't handle himself around her anymore. Sam no longer got hard just thinking about the dreams of his sister, he got hard almost every time he saw her. At the dinner table, he shook his leg awkwardly to try and get some relief, and at night when Y/N wore her sleep shorts he would go to bed painfully hard.
By six months in of constant dreams, Sam had given up. There was a thirty percent success rate when it came to pleasuring himself without thinking of his dreams. There was an alarming one hundred percent success rate when it came to pumping his cock in his hand while he thought of Y/N. He couldn't fight it anymore, no matter how hard he tried. Sam wanted to think about how soft Y/N's hands would be wrapped around his cock, he wanted to think about how well she would use her tongue and how hard she would suck, and mostly he wanted to think about how incredibly tight she'd be wrapped around his cock. He's only known her to have one or two boyfriends, nothing serious, despite her two year seniority to him, and Sam knows she can't be that experienced with a size like him- if at all. He got off most of all thinking of all of the pleasure he could give her.
The more he thought about her, the more often his dreams would happen. Y/N came in all different outfits and scenarios specifically designed by Sam's mind to fulfill his fantasies. He dreamt of a different life where he would make coffee for her and bring it to her in bed, then the rest of their day would be spent in a breathless haze. He dreamt of trying to hide it from Dean and John, fucking whenever they could while they were out or being extremely quiet when they were around. He dreamt of being a massage therapist taking in his last patient of the day only to realize that she had gotten completely naked underneath the red comforter, massaging her higher and higher until he felt her arousal on his fingertips. He wanted Y/N in every shape, form, and situation.
Tonight's dream was no different, but it was completely new to his dream catalogue. He dreamt of Y/N in her room, wearing those same sleep shorts she wore every night. This time they were blue, one of Sam's favorite colors, and they were soft, fitting her perfectly. They hugged her curves and were loose in all of the right places. Above, she wore a small white tank top where her nipples were easily seen behind. Y/N's hair was perfectly messy, how she usually wears it at night, and her skin was glowing and flawless. She laid on her queen sized bed as she listened to her favorite music out loud, loud enough to cover the sound of her moans. They began quietly at first, small whimpers and yes's, then they grew louder and louder.
Sam was almost paranoid watching her touch herself in his dream. Y/N wasn't pornstar loud or faking her moans, she was in pure bliss as she slipped her hand in and out of her sleep shorts. Every time she seemed so close to that cup overflowing, she'd pull back and take a few deep breaths. A few seconds later, she'd begin the process over again. It kept Sam on edge too, his brain didn't want him to cum in his sleep.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Y/N began using a vibrator. It was small and pink, Sam could almost feel the vibrations on himself, and she began moaning louder. He watched as her face twisted and screwed, how she'd clench her legs around her hand, and how she'd arch her back and suddenly pull away from herself. It's like she was teasing Sam in his own dream.
To Sam's surprise, she finally allowed herself to come undone. She took a deep breath and let out little squeaks and fucks, screaming his name over and over again. She begged him to fuck her harder and longer as she forced her vibrator tight against her clit, not relenting until Sam was seeing her cum for a second time.
When Sam woke up, he was harder than he had ever been in his entire life. He squinted his eyes as he rolled on his side to check his alarm clock. 3:05 am. Shit. Knowing himself, he wouldn't be able to sleep for the rest of the night- and that this erection wasn't going away on its own.
Sam sighed to himself as he went back to lying on his back, his right hand dipping into his boxers. He hissed as he felt his cock throb in his hand, going slowly as he grew less sensitive to touch. He pictured Y/N screaming out his name while she came undone as he pumped his cock rhythmically, up and down every few seconds. Sam took it slow, he wanted to savor the image of her arching her back and pressing her legs tight to each other, he wanted to enjoy her.
Sam wasn't reaching an end any time soon. He went faster, he gripped tighter, he thought about her harder- his cock wasn't cooperating like usual, and he was desperate for a fix. His cock was raw after thirty minutes and he was still rock hard with no climax in sight. Sam had tried porn and audios and images and dreams, nothing was working tonight. Now, he was wide awake and hard as hell for another three and a half hours until school. And he had to pee. Sam knew what a pain in the ass peeing was when he had an erection, he wondered to himself why he had denied little Sam so hard at first.
Sam rubbed his eyes as he sat at the edge of his bed, wincing as his dick rubbed the wrong way against his thigh. His boxers did nothing to hide his erection as he pulled them up his thighs for decency and he made his way out of his room and into the hallway. His eyes adjusted to the hallway light and he began to make his way to the restroom. He tried to pee, real hard. He tried to think of gross thoughts and while it didn't fuel his erection, it certainly didn't get rid of it. Sam was near tears of frustration, he needed to cum.
Although Sam didn't feel tired, his brain was foggy as he made his way out of the restroom. He wanted to stop himself from standing outside her door, but he couldn't fight this urge anymore. He needed her. Sam slowly creaked her door open and could barely see in the darkness, but he saw her sleeping soundly in the middle of her bed. Even though Sam could only see her silhouette, she looked incredible. Sam's cock throbbed in his boxers and Sam grabbed at his erection as he neared her bed.
Sam couldn't stop this from happening no matter how wrong he knew it was. At first, he had planned to sneak a few pictures of her unconscious and take them back to his bedroom, but once he had seen her sound asleep- he knew there was no going back. He feared she would wake up and scream, but he could tell her she was sleeping, that she was having a bad dream. Or if she remembered, she was always known to be dramatic- John and Dean would never believe her. And if they did, well, Sam's just a boy. He needs a release, surely they would understand.
Sam quietly undressed as he propped a knee onto her soft bed. He held his cock in his right hand as he softly straddled her, careful not to stir her from sleep. He slowly removed the covers from her lower half and to his surprise saw that she wasn't wearing sleep shorts, only red cotton panties. Sam's cock grew sensitive again as he slowly pumped himself in his hand to the sight of her right in front of him. So peaceful and beautiful, and Sam hated to disturb her but he needed to.
He groped her breasts through her oversized t-shirt, twitching in his hand for even touching her. It was working. Sam pulled her shirt up just so he could see the waistband of her panties, rubbing his hand over her soft and warm center. He looked every now and then up at her peaceful state, but when Sam rubbed his thumb over her cloth-covered clit she groaned and turned on her stomach.
This was an advantage for Sam. He slowly pulled her panties down, watching as her ass slowly jiggled by the small movement, and he carefully rolled them completely off. Sam pawed at her ass, loving the way it fit so perfectly in his hands, and slowly pulled her apart until he could see her core. She was wet and glistening in the moonlight, Sam needed to be inside of her.
With one hand on her ass and the other on his cock, he slowly slipped the tip through her folds. He could barely contain the groan that murmured past his lips, she felt better than he could have ever imagined, and he hadn't even started yet. Sam felt the dip in her core and pushed slowly as to not wake her, but needed a breather as he fit the tip all of the way inside.
He could have stopped and pumped himself until he came inside of her, but he had already come this far. He pushed harder, her warm and wet hole welcoming him inside like she was asking for it. Sam let out a shaky breath as he slid all of the way inside and bottomed out, he checked her face but she was still fast asleep. He began slowly, savoring the feeling of her tight cunt wrapped around his cock and the way that his balls slightly tapped against her clit. Sam knew it would feel amazing, but he never knew it would feel this good with her.
Sam got more confident and began thrusting harder and deeper, watching as her body jolted up and down with each movement. He was so lost in the feeling of her that when she began to whimper it was like music to his ears. There was no discerning whether she was enjoying it or not, she just sounded so heavenly to Sam. He thrusted faster in her, knowing that there was a climax in the near future, moaning her name louder and louder.
There was a particular clench of Y/N's cunt that had alerted Sam that she was awake, but he didn't care, he had never been this satisfied in his life. He quickly covered her mouth with the palm of his hand and felt how her breath was staggered and heavy against his skin.
"Sam?" He could barely recognize as she began to cry out, sobbing and slobbering all over his hand while she tried to push herself up against him.
"Shh, it's okay, Y/N," Sam crushed her with his body weight, feeling his cock twitch as she shrieked. "I've got you, it's just me."
He began to use his position to fuck her rougher and deeper, relishing in the way that she gasped out with each thrust. He knew he could make her feel good, he just had to show her. She kept pushing against the bed with her palms and crying into his hand, but Sam was so close he didn't care if it hurt her. But he wasn't a complete monster, he needed to explain himself.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I know it hurts, but you and I both needed this," Sam explained in between thrusts and shaky breaths.
"No!" She shook her head violently and Sam's hand traveled down to lightly squeeze her neck. She gasped loudly before reaching up and grabbing Sam's wrist with both of her hands.
"This is what it feels like, baby. It hurts so bad you can't even imagine," Sam enlightened her, squeezing just hard enough to scare her. His thrusts were slower and more meaningful, harder and with more intent. "You make me so hard it hurts. No one has ever done that to me."
"Sam, please," Y/N choked out a beg and Sam relieved a little bit of the pressure he had placed on her neck. She began to sob harder and Sam's thrusts became more erratic. "Why are you doing this to me?"
"I dream of you every night. Have for a long time, I couldn't control myself anymore," Sam's breaths faltered, his cock barely slipping in and out of her, he was going to cum soon. "Needed you so bad."
"Why me?" Y/N cried out and Sam lowered his head right beside hers, resting his cheek on the mattress.
"Shh, sweetheart," Sam whispered in her ear as she whimpered in return. "Fuck, Y/N." He felt his body beginning to shake uncontrollably. He delivered a few hard thrusts before bottoming and spilling his white cum inside of her. He moaned her name in her ear, feeling his cock pulse against her tight walls, and relaxed all of his body weight on top of her.
Sam needed time to recuperate and for her to calm down. She went still as he laid on top of her and Sam brushed his long fingers through her hair, reassuring her that everything was going to be okay.
"It was all just a bad dream, Y/N. Everything is fine and you are safe," Sam told her, once he had felt her body relax underneath him, before pulling his boxers on and returning to his room for a good night's sleep and as satisfied as ever.

Summary: Nora’s been nightmare-free for months, the terror of her encounter with the djinn seemingly forgotten until Dean and Sam are away on a job, too busy for coddling. Now that the hunt is over, it’s time for the Winchesters to fix things.
Characters: Dean Winchester & Nora Winchester (OC)
A/N: Sort of requested. I picked the prompt— “How are you?” “Why would you even care?”—from this list and a lovely anon requested a Dean Winchester piece, so here’s a story with Dean & Nora.
Supernatural (Nora Winchester) Masterlist
Here's the AO3 link if you prefer to read over there.
Just let her be.
That was Bobby’s advice.
Give the girl some space.
Let her cool off.
Bobby had said that and a bunch of other things, too, but the well-worn words fell on seemingly deaf ears even if it was perfectly sound advice. He'd known them long enough, watched them go through the ups and downs and every other direction. His famed library didn’t hold any books on the subject, but Bobby Singer considered himself to be the world’s foremost expert when it came to the Winchester kids. Still, they rarely ever took Bobby's advice, too stubborn and a little protective over what was between them, but then again...
When did the Winchester kids ever listen—really?
By Bobby’s account, their listening—really hearing and processing and taking it in—was all a pretty rare occurrence, especially when it came to some issue with one of them. They were all too close to the muddled sibling bond to see much sense. It was all too emotionally charged. They were all too certain that they knew the way through.
Maybe they did. What did Bobby know? He was just the old man who'd known them longer than almost anyone else out there.
He didn't have a Ph.D or a certificate. He figured he should have though—an honorary one at least.
Bobby hadn’t been anything close to surprised when Nora made herself scarce just after the call came in announcing that her brothers would be back in time to eat dinner with them—maybe even lunch if the traffic was light. The girl needed space—that—or a level of patience Dean more often than not didn’t possess when it came to his sister, especially not when things were like this, not when Nora had been avoiding her brothers’ calls for weeks now. Not when the boys had delayed their trip home by taking on a second case they stumbled upon while en route to her back from the first one.
There were weeks of grievances pent up between the kids, a melting pot of anger and fear and hurt. Weeks of Dean asking Bobby to put her on the phone every time the boys called in, but Nora kept dodging him, always conveniently unavailable. Dean had had no choice but to listen to Bobby's advice to let her cool off when there was nothing but miles of road and a telephone line between them, but Bobby wasn’t particularly surprised by Dean ignoring his advice now that he was back. The way Dean saw it, Nora had been cooling off for a few weeks already. He would know she’d really just been simmering if he'd stayed in the house long enough to hear it, but Bobby had still been talking when the back door swung shut in Dean’s wake.
That was par for the course.
It all was, really.
Classic Winchester modus operandi.
Those kids were damn predictable.
Bobby was pretty sure Nora would come around on her own by dinner if Dean let her be. They both would, but Dean was never one to let things sit when he was frustrated or if things weren’t settled—restless as hell, actually. He came at those types of things head-on. And Sam and Nora, well, the two of them had some sort of defiant streak that Dean never had a chance to develop or understand, the ability to express themselves without too much concern over what would come of it if they put on a whole show.
It was Dean’s presence that afforded them that, something he never quite recognized or understood. Just like he didn’t quite recognize it as a good thing, the way Sam and Nora were that comfortable. They never listened, always pushing things, always complaining about something. There was something in Dean telling him over and over that it was a failure on his part. Sammy and Nora had gotten soft on his watch—overindulged. Dean never quite understood that kids were meant to feel safe enough to rip the people who loved them the most to shreds.
Dean hardly knew what that was like, feeling safe that way, but Sam and Nora did.
Nora had never been too afraid to let it be known when she was upset or felt slighted. She was quite practiced at it, actually. She didn’t always say it with words. More often the girl communicated by making herself scarce unless confronted, but the message was sent either way, the withdrawal somehow bothering everyone more than if she just came out and said whatever she wanted to say.
Dean stewed on the last words exchanged between him and his sister as he walked through the yard. Nearly two weeks had passed since then. Two weeks of silence from her end, two weeks of nothing but Bobby’s assurances that the girl was fine since her brothers couldn’t get Nora on the phone—texts and calls alike went unanswered.
Dean wasn’t conscious of the fact that he somehow knew exactly where he’d find her, but two rows away, he spotted his sister’s foot dangling out of a triple-stacked clunker right where a door should have been.
A wave of annoyance shot through him as he closed the distance, picking up his pace a bit as he went. Surely she knew better by now than to be climbing onto cars stacked that high. He knew for certain he’d warned her about it enough times, Bobby and Sam, too. Even their father had mentioned it, years ago now.
Dean called Nora’s name as he came to a stop in front of her hideout, watching her foot quickly disappear from view. “Come on. Get down from there.”
“Go away.”
Dean took a deep breath and his hands fell to his hips. “I’m not going anywhere,” he said, trying to keep his tone even—gentle. “Come on, Nor. Sam and I haven’t seen you in weeks and—”
Nora sat up, casually hanging herself out over the open doorway. A part of Dean’s stomach fluttered as she did it. He’d never quite accepted the girl’s fascination with climbing, never growing remotely comfortable with it even though she had never fallen.
“There,” she said, catching the hesitation on her brother’s face. “You’ve seen me.” Nora lifted her book to cover her face. “Happy now?” she muttered under her breath.
Dean raised an eyebrow, a sarcastic laugh and a long, drawn-out sigh coming through lips at the question. He thought that was marginally better than the handful of responses he had in mind.
Dean was tired and hungry and sore. It had been close to three weeks since the boys had seen their sister. He hated grand productions and that was exactly what he classified Nora’s act as—a grand fucking production—so no, Dean wasn’t happy.
He wanted to wring her neck and tell her to knock it off.
But Dean knew Nora wasn’t happy either. He’d heard some of what Bobby had told him. He knew Nora’s little show wasn’t over nothing. It was never about nothing. She was hurting and he was responsible. It was that knowledge which gave Dean patience, reminding him that while he wanted to tell her to quit being a brat, he also wanted to tug her into his arms and earn her forgiveness.
She had needed him and he hadn’t been there. Dean had brushed his sister off, dismissing her fears and worries because he didn’t have time for coddling. Part of him wondered how much of that excuse was actually true, how much of him just didn’t want to have time for it, how much of him was just tired—at wit’s end with something he couldn’t fix for her. He had thought they were through the worst of it, the dreams behind her. He should’ve known it wasn’t that easy—nothing ever was.
But Nora was with Bobby, so it wasn’t as though she was alone in all of it. She had someone else to talk to if she wanted. Bobby would listen. He’d baby her. Nora usually did talk to Bobby about these types of things and she was usually better off for it—better off than she would’ve been if Dean had been there.
And Sam and Dean were working—busy. He’d called in for the research and that was it. He didn’t have time for nightmares, not when there were lives at stake. Dean could have blamed it all on the job and come away feeling justified. It was a convenient excuse.
It was almost as if Dean’s mind lined up the excuses without him even having to think on it, or maybe so he wouldn’t have to think on it.
It was the way of the job. He had people to save.
It was just a nightmare. She was fine.
She was with Bobby. She was safe.
Dean wanted to justify extending the trip with those things, too. The excuse was so tempting, but Dean knew they hadn’t needed to stop off in another town on the way back to Bobby’s. That had been a choice. Neither of them had been ready to go back, and on some level, Dean hadn’t been ready to deal with his sister, so they didn’t go. A part of him wondered how many times his father had done the same, extending his time away so he didn’t have to deal with the three of them.
Nora should have been angry with Sam too. Part of Dean longed to point that out, but Nora didn’t hold her brothers to the same standards. She never really had. And Dean knew Nora was still a little wary of Sam—cautious, even though his soul had been returned.
“Come on, kid. Put the book down and talk to me. How are you? Bobby said—”
“Why would you even care?” she called down to him, her eyes still on her book though they scanned the pages far too quickly.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
Nora bristled at the question, pushing herself back from Dean’s view.
“Alright. Enough, Nora. You either get your ass down here or scoot over so I can come up.”
Nora held her breath for a few seconds, listening for any sign of movement and trying to anticipate what would happen once he finally made his way up to her hideaway.
She couldn’t imagine he’d actually bother. It was usually Sam who climbed through the yard chasing after her, bringing her back to the ground, convincing her to go to Dean and mend things.
Close to a minute passed and then Dean swore to himself as he slipped out of his jacket, staring up at the tower of wrecked cars, trying to figure out how exactly his sister got herself up there in the first place.
The suspension creaked as Dean stepped up on the hood of the first car. He had barely decided on how to go about scaling the tower when Nora peeked her head out of the side once again.
“Alright. Just wait,” she mumbled. It hadn’t been a safe journey up and some sort of alarm went off at the idea of Dean trying to fit his clunky boots into the small footholds she’d used to get herself to the top of the pile. “I’m coming, I’m coming.”
“Good.” Dean released a private sigh of relief. Even though he’d mapped out something he hoped would get him to the top of the pile unscathed, he hadn’t been pleased about the prospect. He hopped back down to the grass and turned back to watch her descent.
“Be careful.”
Nora rolled her eyes before tossing the book down. The heavy volume landed with a smarting thump, close enough to where Dean stood that he was pretty sure Nora’s aim had been deliberate.
When she started climbing, Dean swallowed down the part of him that was growing frustrated. It was the part of him that had prompted Bobby’s guidance that he leave Nora alone in the first place. The part of him that knew that his and his sister’s reckonings didn’t end well when they were like this. He focused on watching her make the journey down, focused on her sneakers easing into the footholds he couldn’t even see. Nora felt for them without even looking, made it seem effortless.
“Take your time,” he said though she changed nothing about her speed or caution, making quick work of the climb.
Dean held out a hand as Nora stepped onto the hood of the car at the bottom of the pile. She hesitated before taking her brother’s hand and launching herself down into the grass. Nora tried to pull her hand free as her feet touched the ground, stepping past her brother, ready to fetch the discarded book and head back to the house, but Dean held steady, pulling her back towards him.
“Hey.”
Nora swallowed as she met her brother’s eye, something caught in her throat just at that single word. His ‘hey’ wasn’t much. It wasn’t a question or an order or an apology, but all of those things settled between them in the word’s wake.
Nora stilled and Dean noticed the subtle shifting of her demeanor—a parlance that Dean understood completely, a language he read and spoke more fluently than all the Latin they’d all been studying for years.
“Hey, Dean.”
Dean exhaled and pulled Nora against his chest, his hand cradling the back of her head as he hugged her close.
“Hey, kiddo.”

   ‘Y/N! Watch out!’
   Dean’s voice draws your attention away from the dead werewolf now lying at your feet and you swing around just in time to be thrown back by one that is still very much alive. The attack catches you off guard and you land on the dirty ground of the barn, your head hitting the edge of some broken bricks. You see stars as the werewolf towers over you, claws out, dragging deep gashes into your thighs. Your scream rips through the barn and your eyesight becomes blurry. The last thing you see before losing consciousness is Sam dragging the werewolf off you just before it moves to kill.
   The first things you notice when you come to in the motel room is that it’s dark and you’re completely alone. Your head aches worse than every hangover you’ve ever experienced and your thighs are burning with a vengeance. You recall the wolf hunt and how quickly things went wrong. You and your brothers went in thinking there were only two, you were hugely mistaken and very outnumbered, there were three more werewolves than you had expected. The three of you had gone in, following normal formation; one around back, two through the front door, and then it all went to hell. Sam and Dean took two wolves each, while you took on the fifth, but nothing ever goes to plan.
   You groan remembering your mistake and move to sit up causing your head to spin. You glance around the room for any trace of the boys, surprised that they would leave you alone in such a state, but you can’t make out any note or trace of them in the darkness of the room. You prepare yourself to stand up but a movement outside the window makes you freeze. You lock your eyes on the shadow and two familiar figures come into focus, all the tension leaving your body. You lay back down keeping your eyes on your brothers, frowning when you realise that they were arguing. The tension bubbling up, you throw the blankets off your legs and sit up again, determined to resolve whatever they were fighting about.
   You glance down at your bare legs and gape at the sight of them. Your upper thighs were covered in blood-soaked bandages, the only skin visible scarred by your own hand. The realisation hits you like a truck, and you momentarily forget how to breathe. Your eyes are glued to the red and silver lines that mark your skin and your heart has dropped to your stomach. You have been finding different things to use ever since they found you with your mother dead in your arms, most recently you have been using one of Dean’s razor blades. The pain distracts you from the harshness of hunting and you have come to rely on it. You love your brothers, but they aren’t the easiest people to talk to, and you already know that Dean is probably madder than when you ate his pie.
   With your back to the front of the motel, you hadn’t realised the boys had made their way to the door and the sound of it opening brought out an uncharacteristic yelp.
   ‘Woah, Woah! No Y/N, you shouldn’t be up.’ Sam remarks gently, coming around beside you and gently easing you back under the covers. Dean watches from behind him, leaning over to turn on the lamp furthest away from you. You blink against the light, taking a moment to adjust,
   ‘Concussion?’ You ask meekly, not meeting either one of your brother’s eyes.
   ‘Yea, pretty bad we think. Sam wanted to take you to the hospital. Almost did.’ Dean let the sentence hang in the air and your stomach curls in knots. You know what he’s hinting at and shame rises up in your chest.
   Sam sits down next to you making you feel caged, Dean still towering over you. ‘Look, no-ones angry at you.’
   ‘Speak for yourself.’ Dean grumbles.
   Sam shoots him a look before turning back to you, ‘Dean and I understand that life hasn’t been easy for you. I mean, we picked you up at 14 and your life was turned upside down, to find out you had two adult brothers and that your dad was dead. No ones blaming you for having trouble with your feelings. You are the bravest young women I’ve ever met.’ Sam pauses to rub his chin. Something you know he does when he is stressed.
   Dean notices and jumps in for the save, ‘We figured that going to the hospital would overcomplicate things. We will take you if you start getting worse but for now, we stay here and you’re on bed rest. We’ll go home when you’re better.’ He meets your eyes with a stern ferocity you hadn’t seen since you tried to sneak out of the bunker for a party. ‘I’m going to ask you this once, and you need to answer me honestly. Because if I find out that you didn’t, I will remove your bedroom door. Where is it?’ You cringe at the thought of Dean going through your bag and start to sit up but Sam’s hand is on your shoulder immediately.
   You lay back with a groan, ‘Can you at least bring my bag here?’
   ‘I’m just going to go through it after anyway, so you may as well just tell me where it is.’
   You glare at your older brother with as much anger as you can conjure up. ‘You are completely violating my privacy.’
   ‘You earn your privacy when you stop hurting the most precious thing in the world. Do you understand me? Now, where is it?’ Dean’s words shock you and you sit frozen gawking at him. ‘There’s, a um. There’s a small rip in the side of my bag, it’s in there.’ Dean nods happy with your answer and picks up your bag. You watch as he goes through it on the second bed, pulling out one of his flannels in surprise.
   ‘I’ve been looking for this.’ He moves away from your bag briefly to pass the flannel to you and you smile gratefully, pulling it on over the t-shirt you had been left in. Dean grunts in surprise and you turn to see the razor in his hand. ‘This is mine too, thought I lost it.’
   ‘Sorry.’
   Dean hummed in response, pocketing the blade and turning to meet Sam’s gaze, eyebrows raised.
   You watch as Sam and Dean have a silent conversation about you. Normally this sort of behaviour would bother you, but your head is pounding and after Dean’s slip up you are feeling a tad overwhelmed. You have always been closer with Dean considering Sam was Soulless when you first met him and then he sort of pushed you aside for Amelia, she was nice but you missed Dean. It took a little more time, some heart to hearts and a common goal for the two of you to bond, you were both determined to save Dean from the Mark of Cain no matter the cost and Sam begrudgingly let you help, believing you were old enough at 18 to handle it. Now, five years later, the three of you are thick as thieves and the guilt comes rushing back for betraying their trust.
‘Y/N, do you need a rest or are you okay to keep talking?’ Sam asks, turning his attention on you.
   You look up from the blanket and see that both of them are watching you, concern evident on their faces. ‘Nah, I’m okay. My head hurts but I’m not dizzy or anything.’
   ‘Alright,’ Sam nods and clears his throat, throwing one more glance at Dean before speaking again. ‘Things are going to have to change because neither of us could stand to lose you. Every morning we all say how we are out of ten. We don’t have to talk about why, but we all need to be aware that not everyone’s okay.’
   You nod, understanding what he is asking you. You could manage that.
   ‘I’m the bathroom police.’ Your eyes widen and Sam sighs in what seems almost like defeat. ‘You get ten minutes.’ You roll your eyes but don’t argue, you know Dean well enough that he’ll drop it five if you do.
   ‘Okay, now that the new rules are in place, it’s time to sleep. Scoot over midget.’ Sam stood up from the bed beside you and Dean got in beside you once his three extra layers of clothing had been removed.
   Although you never intended for your brothers to find out, you felt a little less anxious than usual when Sam turned the lamp off. With nothing to hide and the support of your older brothers, you fell asleep with a small smile on your face, despite the pain from your injuries.

Hey there! I just wanted to put this into the world, I’m working on a Winchester Sister rewrite over on ao3, and I would love some people to give it a shot. It’s not a reader insert, it’s about a girl named Jane. She’s 11 years younger than Dean and 7 years younger than Sam. I’m doing something I haven’t seen other rewrites doing (although there may be someone, feel free to correct me) by adding original episodes. I figured since Jane needs her own storylines and arcs, she would need her own plot lines. So far I’ve done Pilot-Asylum, with two original chapters too. I would love it if some of you guys checked it out, I think it’s going well. Criticism is welcome too, as long as it’s polite!

Dakota was sitting on the hood of the Impala outside of the Roadhouse while her brothers packed up the trunk.
“So, what’s in L.A.?” Dakota asked, referring to the case Dean was looking into.
“A young girl’s been kidnapped by an evil cult.” Dean said.
“Yeah? Girl got a name?” Sam asked.
“Katie Holmes.” Dean said as he closed the trunk and walked towards the driver's door.
Dakota jumped off the hood, “You’re hilarious. Truly.” She said.
“That’s funny, and, for you, so bitchy.” Sam said.
Dakota perked up all of a sudden as she felt a cloud of anger coming on, “Uh oh.” She whispered.
“I’m going.” She heard Jo yelling from inside the Roadhouse.
“Over my dead body!” Ellen responded.
“What’s all that?” Dean asked, but Dakota didn’t answer, just started walking to the bar.
Dakota walked in as Ellen yelled, “I am your mother! I don’t have to be reasonable!”
Ellen and Jo were standing on the raised platform the housed the pool tables. In true Ellen fashion she was still clearing tables and picking things up as they fought. “You can’t keep me here!” Jo stamped her foot.
“Don’t you bet on that, sweetie!” Ellen snapped.
“You gonna keep me chained in the basement?” Jo sassed.
“You don’t want to stay, fine, don't-go back to school,” Ellen said. Dakota pinched the bridge of her nose, they had been fighting over Jo dropping out of college all weekend.
“I don’t belong there! I was the freak with the knife collection!” Jo argued. Dakota walked over to a table and sat down.
“Getting yourself killed on some dusty back road- that’s where you belong!?” Ellen snapped then turned to the three Winchesters, “Bad time!”
“Yes ma’am.” Sam responded immediately.
“We rarely drink before ten anyways.” Dean said.
“I want to know what you think about this.” Jo said walking over to them.
“I don’t think we want to get involved.” Dean said.
“Trust me, you don’t.” Dakota agreed.
The wall phone started ringing and Ellen and Jo stared at it, as though willing it to catch on fire.
“Jo wants to start hunting and dropped out of school.” Dakota whispered to her brothers.
Ellen finally gave in and went to grab the still ringing phone and Jo grabbed a file off the bar counter.
“Three week ago, a young girl disappeared from an apartment in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.” She said holding the file out for Dean, who just looked at it, “Take it. It won’t bite.”
“But your mom might.” Dean argued. Dakota reached up from her seat and grabbed the file.
“She wasn’t the first. Over the past 80 years six women have vanished. All from the same building, all young blonds.” Jo explained as Dakota flipped through the file of police reports and maps, “It happens every decade or two, so the cops never eyeball the pattern. So we’re either dealing with one very old serial killer…”
“Who put this together? Ash?” Dean asked and Dakota looked over to see her brothers reading over her shoulders.
“I did it myself.” Jo stated standing up straighter.
“Pretty good.” Dakota muttered.
“I’ve got to admit, we’ve hit the road for a lot less.” Sam pointed out.
“Good. If you like the case so much, you take it.” Ellen said walking over to them.
“Mom!” Jo whined.
“Joanna Beth, this family has lost enough. I will not lose you too. I just won’t.” Ellen said calmly.
……….
Several hours later they pulled up to the apartment building and Dakota went to talk to the supervisor about letting them tour the place, which he gladly agreed to. He let them into the apartment then went back down stairs to front desk, telling them to head back down when they were done.
“I feel kinda bad, snaking Jo’s case.” Sam confessed as they walked into the livingroom.
“Don’t feel too bad, Sammy, they have been having that fight for years now.” Dakota said as she pulled out her EMF detector.
“Well, maybe she put together a good file, but could you see her out here working on of these?” Dean asked.
“She’d be a great hunter, but Ellen’s never going to let her.” Dakota said.
“You two getting anything?” Dean asked.
“No, not yet.” Sam said, then a moment later, “What is that?”
Dakota turned and saw that Sam was staring at the wall, she walked over to where he was standing and saw that he was studying the lightswitch.
Sam reached forward and swiped his finger across the light and came away with black goo.
Dean followed in suit, “It’s ectoplasm. Well, I think I know what we’re with. It’s the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.”
“Who ya gonna call?” Dakota sang.
“Can you two please take this seriously? I’ve only seen this stuff like twice.” Sam commented.
“Well, you have to be one major pissed out spirit to make this stuff.” Dakota pointed out.
“Let’s find this badass before he snags anymore girls.” Dean said.
They walked out of the apartment and started making their way down the hallway when they heard the supervisor's voice.
“It’s a great building.” He said.
“Yeah, I love the furnishing.” A familiar voice said and Dakota’s eyes widened.
She rounded the corner s fast as she could and saw Jo walking towards them, talking to the supervisor.
“Ah, Miss. Moore. You didn’t tell me your roommate was stopping by as well.” He said smiling at Dakota.
“Yeah, well, that’s Dakota for you. She’s such a scatter brain sometimes.” Jo laughed and Dakota glared, “Did you guys already see that place?”
“Yeah, it was great. The boys seemed to like it too.” Dakota grumbled crossing her arms.
“If your brothers approve, it must be good. We’ll take it.” Jo said pulling out a wad of cash and shoving it at the supervisor.
……….
All four hunters sat in awkward silence in the livingroom, no one willing to start the conversation.
“...So who wants the couch tonight?” Dakota finally asked.
“Does your mother know you’re here.” Dean asked turning to look at Jo.
“I told her Dakota and I were going on a girl’s trip to Vegas.” Jo shrugged.
“Two things. One, why did you have to drag me into this? And two, do you really think she bought that?” Dakota asked.
“I got Ash to lay a credit-card trail all the way to the casinos.” Jo explained.
“Well then let’s wrap up here and have a girls’ weekend in Vegas!” Dakota said.
“You shouldn’t lie to your mom. And you shouldn’t be here.” Dean scowlded.
“Well, I am, so untwist your boxers and deal with it.” Jo said.
“Where did you get all that money from anyways?” Sam asked.
“Working at the Roadhouse.” Jo explained.
“Hunters don’t tip that well.” Dean said.
“Yeah, they don’t play poker that well either.” Dakota said, “I mean, that’s how I get all my money.”
“What money?” Sam and Dean asked.
“The money I have hidden away for emergencies.” She elaborated.
Dakota’s phone started ringing and she grimaced as she saw that it was Ellen.
“Hi Aunt Ellen!” She answered cheerfully.
“Is she with you?” Ellen snapped, “She left a note saying you two were going to Vegas and I don’t believe it for a moment.”
“We are heading there right now. The boys think they caught wind of an unrelated demon case in California so they are dropping us off on the way. We’re at a gas station in the middle of nowhere right now.” Dakota lied.
“Okay, thanks hon.” Ellen said before hanging up.
Dakota turned and glared at Jo, “I hate you.”
“I know.” Jo teased, “Now, let’s talk the case.”
Dean walked over to their bags and grabbed the file Ellen had given them earlier and started unfolding the papers on the kitchen table they were sitting around. Jo sat down and grabbed the knife she kept with her at all times and began twirling it between her fingers as she went over the facts.
“The place was built in 1924. It was originally a warehouse, converted to apartments a few months ago.
“What was here before 1924?” Dean asked.
“Nothing. Just an empty field.” Jo answered.
“So, most likely scenario, someone died bloody in the building and now he’s back and raising Hell.” Sam said.
“I already checked, in the past 82 years zero violent deaths.” Jo explained, “Unless you count a janitor who slipped on a wet floor. Would you please sit down?” She snapped at Dean.
“Have you checked the police reports, county death records?” Dean asked as he sat down.
“Obituaries, mortuary reports, and seven other sources. I know what I’m doing.” Jo continued.
“The jury’s still out on that one.” Dean sassed, “Would you stop messing with that knife?” Jo slammed it down on the table.
“How far back did you look? I mean, Pennsylvania is an old state, maybe something went down in that empty field.” Dakota pointed out.
“It could be a cursed object. We would have to scan the whole building.” Sam said.
“Great. Jo and I will take the top two floors, you two take the bottom.” Dean said.
“Why not just each take a floor? It’s faster if we split up.” Dakota said.
“Because  this guy is after young blonds who live in this apartment, so maybe the two young blondes living in this apartment shouldn’t go off on their own.” Sam said.
“Everyone gear up. We’re out in five.” Dean said.
Dakota walked up behind Jo, grabbed her arm, and dragged her into one of the bedrooms.
“What are you doing?” Jo asked.
“I’m going to give you a big-sister-little-sister talk full of advice that you are going to ignore, but I won’t feel guilty because I have given you this knowledge.” Dakota said sitting down on the bed and patting the seat next to her. Jo rolled her eyes, but sat down anyways, “Jo, I don’t care that you want to hunt. Your mom hunts, your dad was a hunter, and you’re eighteen with money so you can do whatever the Hell you want. But, you shouldn’t go behind your mom’s back to do it. And you should never just leave in the middle of the night with nothing more than a note. That’s what I did when I left my dad and came to stay with y’all and I didn’t see him again for almost two years. I never even got to apologize. If you want to stay out on the road, stay out on the road, but call home and visit every once in awhile; your mom wants what’s best for you and if that means letting you go then you have to tell her.” Dakota said wrapping her arm around Jo’s shoulders.
“...Can we be done now?” Jo asked.
“Yep. That’s all I got. Let’s kill this sicko and go to Vegas.” Dakota said.
“You know I didn’t plan on us actually going?” Jo admitted.
“Yes, but now you’ve talked me into this so you and I are going to get drinks by the pool while the guys go do something else.” Dakota said opening the bedroom door and motioning for Jo to head back into the livingroom where Sam and Dean were waiting with their EMF readers.
……….
The next morning after a semi-successful search, Jo and Dean found a chunk of bloody blond hair and Dakota and Sam found EMF everywhere on the ground floor, Dakota woke up from sleeping on the tiny reading chair and looked around the room. She saw Dean and Sam still curled up ridiculously small on the two couches framing the sofa that Jo was currently sleeping on. Dakota sat up and popped her shoulder and back, then stood up and quickly went and got dressed in ripped jeans and a baggy sweater then fishtailed her long blond hair before grabbing Dean wallet and walking to the coffee shop down the street.
On her way back to the apartment building, arms ladened with coffee and pastries she sent a few texts to Andy letting him know what she was up to and inviting him on a possible weekend trip because, Jo or no Jo, now her heart was set on going to Vegas.
The moment she opened the door, Dean grabbed her and pulled her into a hug, nearly knocking over all the drinks in her hand.
“Whoa! Careful!” Dakota said, untangling herself.
“Where the Hell have you been!? We’re working a case where some sick son of a bitch abducts young blonds and you think you can just leave before any of us are awake!” Dean shouted.
Dakota looked down at the bag of pastries in her hand and held it out to him, “I got you a bear claw, De.” She said sweetly.
Dean looked at the bag, “If one of those drinks is a black coffee I might forgive you.
Sam groaned and sat up, “Ugh! Hey Jo, how did you sleep on that nice big sofa?”
“I only went to sleep at four. I’ve been going over everything.” She said and Dakota turned to see Jo at the kitchen table going through all the papers and spinning her knife.
Dean grabbed his bag from off the ground and started fishing through it until he pulled out a machete and handed it to Jo.
“Here, this will work a lot better than that pigstick you’ve been twirling around.” Dean said.
Dakota groaned and dropped down on the couch next to Sam who grabbed a drink from her, “The knife’s important isn’t it?” He whispered.
“It’s her dad’s. William Arthur Harvelle. He died on a hunting trip when she was a kid.” Dakota answered quietly as she turned to see Jo explaining that to Dean and giving him back the bigger knife.
Sam stood up and walked over to the window and Dakota saw him tense up.
“Sam?” She asked.
“There are cops outside.” He answered.
“Did another girl go missing?” Dakota asked.

REQUEST:  Hello, could you possibly do a one shot were the reader gets in the middle of a fight with her older brothers and when she is trying to stop them, one of them accidentally punches knocking her out. When she wakes up they are really apologetic and look after her because she is still kind of out of it. I’d highly appreciate it thank you!
A/N: Hey! So this is the first piece of writing that I’m posting on this blog, I hope you like it! Feedback is much appreciated, as are requests! :D
The sound of your brothers shouting at each other from another room is always a lovely sound to wake up to. Annoyed, you roll over in your bed, trying to use a pillow over your head to block the sound out so that you can catch up on some much needed sleep while the boys bicker it out.
That is, until you hear your name amidst the shouting.
“If we go ahead with this hunt, we can’t guarantee Y/N’s safety! It’s like you want her to get hurt!” Dean yells. You frown and sit up in bed. You know the hunt that he’s referring to. It’s a case in which young females are being targeted by some sort of creature that disembowels them. Definitely not pretty.
“Don’t put words in my mouth, Dean, we know that Y/N can handle herself!” Sam snaps back.
“Oh, like you thought that you could handle yourself all those times that I had to save your ass?”
You raise yourself out of bed and walk down the hall of the bunker, realizing that the two are in Dean’s room. You stand outside the door, watching them between the cracks of the door, not sure if you should step in yet.
“I’ve had to save your ass plenty of times too, Dean, in case you don’t remember!”
“Well then why do you bother to keep doing it?! Why not just let me die, you clearly have no issue doing that with Y/N and this damn case!” Dean says, and you feel a pang of guilt that this argument has become so much about you.
“You know that’s not what I want, quit dragging her into this!” Sam seems fed up.
You agree with that, you don’t wanna be dragged into this anymore. You step into the room just as Sam shoves Dean, who now looks ready to burst, pulling his fist back, ready to hit Sam.
“Guys, stop!” You jump between the brothers, and unfortunately neither seems to be able to react before a fist makes contact with the side of your head, and it all goes black.
~~~
Your eyes flutter open to find that you’re laying down on your bed. Sam is sitting in the chair by your desk, and Dean is sitting up against the headboard, right next to you. Your eyes are strangely out of focus, and your head is pounding.
You try to sit up, and your brother’s both look up at the movement.
“There she is...” Sam says with a sad smile, walking over and kneeling next to the bed. You blink at him, smiling a bit, but still confused.
“Hey, sweetheart, let’s not sit up just yet,” Dean lowers you back down with a hand on your shoulder.
“How are you feeling, bean?” Sam asks you, gently brushing some hair away from your face.
“I... I dunno,” You say softly. “Hurts, I guess.”
Dean grimaces a bit. “I’m so sorry, Y/N/N. I didn’t know you jumped between us, I meant to only knock Sam in the shoulder, but you’re more than a head shorter than him...” He trails off at the look that you give him.
“No, De, I’m sorry. That fight was... about me. My fault,” you say, staring at your hands. Both of your brothers immediately protest.
“Y/N, hey, there’s no reason for you to apologize. That fight was silly. None of this should’ve happened, I’m sorry,” Sam says.
“We love you so much, pumpkin. Neither of us want to see you hurt,” Dean adds.
You stare up at both of them, trying hard to wrap your head around their words, but it is rather difficult with the way that your head feels. You simply give both of them a smile and sit up, standing up off of the bed, missing the worried looks on your brothers’ faces as they stand up as well.
“Sweetie, where are you going?” Sam asks you.
You stop in place. Oh, that’s a good question. Where are you going? You feel a gentle hand on your shoulder, which turns out to be Sam turning you around. He raises the light from his phone up. “Follow the light for me, Y/N,” he says.
You try your hardest, but Sam frowns at your delayed response. “I think she has a concussion,” he says to Dean, who runs a hand over his face. “I’ll go call Cas to help heal her,” he says, punctuating his statement with a kiss on your forehead as he leaves the room.
You turn back to Dean, who gently guides you back to the bed. “Come on, Y/N/N. We’ll wait for Cas together,” he sits next to you on the bed, and you wrap your arms around his waist, resting your head on his chest. Dean smiles down at you before wrapping his arms tightly around you and pressing a kiss into your hair.
“I gotcha, baby girl,” he says, beginning to softly stroke your hair with the same hand that accidentally gave you a concussion in the first place.
“Love you, De,” you say into his shirt.
“Love you more than anything, Y/N. Sammy does too.”
For now everything is soft and sweet, but later, when Castiel heals you up and you’re feeling better, you’ll realize just how tempting it is to use this whole situation to guilt your brothers into doing whatever you want. There’s no way they’re getting away with this without at least getting you some ice cream.
Little Cookie Monster 🍪🍪
Imagine getting caught trying to get a snack in the middle of the night.
Warnings- none (spelling mistakes??
Characters- Sam - Dean- little sister! Reader
Thanks for reading!!!! Hope you like it !!!
•••••••~~~~•••••••
The bunker was quiet at night. Not a sound, just of the snoring coming from a certain room beside yours. 5 year old Y/n was sure that’s what woke her up from her slumber. Getting up from her comfy bed, she grabbed her stuffed toy and headed down to the kitchen, she wanted a snack. The little pitter patter of your bare feet echoed around the room as you ran down the hall and down the stairs.
Coming up to the cupboard, she opens it up and sees some cookies, just in her reach, she picks them up and places them on the table. “Milk” Y/n whispers to herself. Grabbing a chair, you drag it to the cupboard where you know where the glasses are, hoping you didn’t wake Sam or Dean,, you climbed the chair, opened the door and grabbed a glass. To your surprise, it slipped from your hands and fell to the ground, making a loud crash “ uh oh” not even a few minutes later, Your older brothers come rushing in, weapons ready to fire at the potential danger that threatens the bunker.
“Y/n!, what are you doing!!” Deam shouted as he lowers his gun and put it away. He then grabbed you from the chair. “I wanted cookie” you say, hiding your head in Dean’s neck. Sam shakes his head, then says,
“I’m too tired to deal with this” then went back to his room.
Dean places you down on the counter. Cleaned up the glass, then got a new one and filled it half way with some milk and got out a plate with 3 cookies.
“This will be our little secret okay Cookie Monster? Don’t tell Sammy” he said as he eats one of the cookies. You nod and happily eat a cookie.
Love each other the wrong way (Be the young 27)
GIANT TW which will be valid for each episode for suicidal thoughts, SELF H*RM, violence, cursing, relatives dying, mentions of s*x, s*xual assault
All chapter titles are song titles, some of them translated from Italian songs. We start from the first season and make out way through the series. I will break canon (mostly from the S2 finale) but will try to get back into it for the sake of ✨ lore ✨ .
Summary: Emily Reed, born and raised in Portland, is preparing her admission papers for Stanford, medical school. Little does she know, her life is about to change forever.
"After reading this whole letter, call John Winchester. [...] He’s your real father."
A/N:  yesss, we are back to canon (kinda), I’ll try to follow episode by episode, of course I’ll skip some, but this season I’ll have to kind of be detailed with adapting Emily with the lore. ALSO YOU SHOULD KNOW I NAMED RAMIEL BEFORE I WATCHED S12 SO YES HE’S CALLED LIKE THE PRINCE OF HELL SORRY LMAO
MASTERLIST
Love each other the wrong way
There will never be the time to do what we want We drive all of our poetry to hell But you, love me like I would love yourself if you were me and viceversa So bad and without really understanding anything But with the sky at its place in a trafficked city And a life upside down, dreams in half We ran out of happiness
“Sam, for the last time, angels are not a thing!” Said Dean, flustered, sitting around the same table as Sam and Emily. Days had passed since Emily and Dean had their last fight, and nobody had brought it out again. “Dean, I know what you mean-” Interrupted Emily. “But why would two different creatures lie to us about being angels?” “I don't know, maybe they're some kind of demon.” “Castiel is immune to Ruby's knife.” “Yeah, but don't you think that if angels are real, some hunter would have seen one? Ever?” “We just did, Dean.” Sighed Emily. “Look, I'm not saying they are the same angels that we see in movies, just- There is a possibility that angels are a thing.” “You chuckleheads want to keep arguing about religion, or do you want to take a look at this?” Interrupted Bobby, clearly pissed. The three siblings walked to the man and they all rounded up to hear what he had found out.
Later that day, while she was deep into angel lore, Dean entered the room and handed her a phone. “Uh, okay?” She said, confused, taking the object. “It's your phone. They brought it back after you-” He trailed off and exhaled, standing next to Emily’s chair. “I kept it charged.” “Ah.” She opened it. There were a couple of missed calls and a single text from Daniel. It read Where are you? Getting pizza for tonight She immediately thought of Daniel: was he okay, did he know what happened to her? Should she maybe call him and tell him she’s fine? Dean caught her staring at the text message. “Are you okay?” Emily forced her eyes off of the phone. “Yeah, just… it’s nothing.” She concluded, putting the phone away and going back to her book. “Actually…“ Dean exhaled. “I think we should talk.” “Again? Come on, Dean, I don’t feel like fighting right now.” She didn't lift her eyes off the book. “Then let’s not fight.” He sat down on the armchair next to her. “Let’s just… talk.” “Alright.” Emily sighed and closed the book. “What do you want to talk about?” “Hell.” The word resonated in the room for a second before Emily reacted. ”...so you remember.” She sighed and looked away. “I remember you, if that’s what you mean.” He said. “I know, I-” she scrathed her nose. “I remember you down there, but- It's not clear, you know? I’m still trying to piece it together.” ”...right.” Dean suddenly went silent. “So?” Asked Emily. “What did you want to talk about?” “Nothing, it's… it's nothing.” “What do you mean nothing, you came here to talk about hell and now- now it's nothing?” “Yeah, trust me, it's better this way.” “Why don't you just tell me what's going on?” She said, getting nervous. “Nothing is going on.” He said. “If you ever remember, well- then we'll talk about it.” Emily watched him leave, her brain shuffling questions left and right.
That night, Emily went straight to bed. After spending the day trying to reach hunters just to find them all dead, she was exhausted. But when she woke up, someone was staring at her. She hastily grabbed her gun from under her pillow and pointed it towards the person standing in her room, but she soon realized it was someone she knew. She knew him, but he wasn’t supposed to be there. “Daniel?” Was all she could utter while the figure of her boyfriend stared at her. He looked exactly as she remembered him: he had black, ruffled hair and his freckles were all in the same place. But he didn't look alive. He looked pale and worn out, as if he had not slept in months. He looked just like a ghost. “Are you-” She started to lower her gun. “Dead? Yes.” A loud bang informed Emily that something was going on in the rest of the house. She moved the gun back to pointing at Daniel. “I had a good life, you know?” He muttered, angry. “But you had to come and screw it up with all your shit.” “Daniel, I'm sorry, I didn't know this happened to you.” “Of course, how would you know? You have never thought about me again since you decided to call it quits. Thanks for the note, by the way. Very thoughtful.” “I'm sorry, really. Did the Russians do this to you?” “Of course they did.” He exhaled, releasing a small cloud of condensation. “Who else? You escaped, their favorite meat toy, they were desperate to get you back. So desperate that I had to be involved.” Daniel was getting closer and closer, his hands reaching towards her neck. The door slammed open and with a gunshot, Sam made his entrance as the ghost dissipated. “Are you okay?” He asked, gesturing to her to leave the room. “Yes, I'm okay-” She checked herself while Sam tried to hurry her out of her bed.” What's going on?” “We don't know just yet- get into the basement.”
Shielded into the panic room, Emily tried to get her head around the fact that Daniel had died. “Did you know?” She asked Dean. He sighed and looked away. “Oh my god, you did! Why didn't you say anything?!” He didn't answer. “I’ve been back, what- seventy two hours? I already want to punch you!” She stood up to look away from Dean. “Look, we've been having other issues, okay? One of them being a bunch of ghosts trying to hunt us outside that door!” Dean also stood up and pointed to the door. “You lied about how I died, you didn’t tell me by boyfriend is dead, I discovered that all those months of you hitting me like I am some kind of practice target -which of course you haven't said anything about to Sam-” She added, seeing confusion in Sam's eyes. “...have been good to nothing- Can you go one fucking day without-” She stopped. She felt the tears come up for the first time since she had come back from hell and she knew she could not afford to lose her shit at that moment. She clenched her fists. “Without what?!” Asked Dean, “I was going to tell you, just- when we had a moment of peace!” “A moment of peace?” She snapped, angry. “WE NEVER HAVE A MOMENT OF PEACE!” With three steps she was in Dean's face. She knew Sam and Bobby were about to drag her back, but they were stopped by Dean's gesture to wait. He touched her shoulder. “Alright, listen to me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Daniel. But it's late now. You need to focus on what's happening now because we are in the middle of a crisis!” Emily tried to get rid of Dean's hold, but he grabbed her from a wrist and stopped her. The second he did, a very quick flashback from hell went through her mind. Dean immediately let go of her wrist, like it was made of fire. When Emily met his gaze, she could almost see the image of hell disappear in his eyes. “Are you done? Because I think I got something.” Said Bobby, scowling at them. Emily gave one last quick look at Dean, who briefly seemed scared but quickly recomposed himself, before taking a step back. “So, the symbol Sam and I saw: the mark of the witness.” “What is that?” Dean went around the table to look at the symbol. “Basically, these people didn't die ordinary deaths and they were forced to rise. They're rabid. More than any other ghost.” “Who forced them to rise?” Asked Emily, sitting back down. “I don't know, but they used a spell and they had big plans. This is the rising of the witnesses.” “Wait- I heard about that…“ Emily was trying to retrieve that information from her brain. “Revelations?” Bobby nodded. “But- isn't that a sign of the apocalypse?” “Yup.” “Apocalypse?” Said Dean, incredulous. “The apocalypse, apocalypse? Four horsemen, 5 dollar gas apocalypse?” “That's the one.” Bobby nodded, opening another book. “Okay, so what do we do now?” Intervened Sam. Dean tried to speak, but Emily was faster. “I think there was a spell- I read it somewhere.” She leaned closer to the pile of books and took out one, passing it to Bobby. “I have to say it, I'm impressed you remember all that.” he said. “I was stuck here with only those books for months, and there's only so much I can clean, you know.” Bobby inspected the spell. “This should work. I've got everything in the house.”
Once the fight was over, they approximately cleaned the place and went to sleep again. However, it seemed like she could not get a full night of sleep, because when Emily woke up, she was not in her room anymore, but in the living room, next to Dean who seemed as confused as her. In front of them were Ramiel, the alleged angel that had brought Emily back and another man in a trench coat. They were both staring at them. Emily gazed at Dean, who slowly advanced towards them. “Excellent job with the witnesses.” Said the unknown man. Emily raised her eyebrows. “So, is this Castiel?” She asked, finally putting the pieces together. The man nodded. “Well, good evening to you too.” She said, sarcastic. “And it would have been nice if you came down to help, you know?” “Emily, tesoro.” Said Ramiel, with a strong Italian accent. “Everything worked out.” “I thought you were supposed to be guardians, not dicks?” Asked Dean. “We're supposed to be warriors.” Answered Castiel, cold. “Well, then fight!” Yelled Emily. “And by the way, when is your boss going to come down here and help us poor bastards?” “As I said already, I'm not here to make you believe.” Ramiel paused, suggestively. “But, if you really need to know, God is busy with something much bigger than your ego.” “Like what? Come on, Al Pacino, humor me.” “The rise of witnesses was one of 66 seals that, if opened, will bring the apocalypse on earth.” “And who-” “Lilith.” Interrupted Castiel. “She's trying to raise Lucifer.” “Lucifer?” Emily raised her eyebrows. “The devil, Lucifer? With horns and goat feet?” “Well, not in that form, but yes. That Lucifer.”
To Become A Hunter
Characters: Dean Winchester, Sister!reader, John Winchester, Sam Winchester [mentioned]
Words: 3900+ (I’m really sorry about that, but there was no good place to split it)
Warnings: Can’t think of anything specific, really, maybe just that there’s going to be a verbal fight, I dunno. Maybe a bit of swearing, not too much.
A/N: This is the fic I was talking about! It’s a pre-series sister AU, that takes place in between around 2003. Dean is 24, Sam is 20 and at Stanford and you are 17 years old. It’ll also be a mini-series, so there’s more parts to come. It might be a bit all over the place, but I was trying to create a certain feeling. (I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I hope you like it!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your name: submit What is this? document.getElementById("submit").addEventListener('click', function(){ walk(document.body, /\by\/n\b|\(y\/n\)/ig, document.getElementById("inputTxt").value); }); function walk(node, v, p){ var child, next; switch (node.nodeType){ case 1: // Element case 9: // Document case 11: // Document fragment child = node.firstChild; while (child){ next = child.nextSibling; walk(child, v, p); child = next; } break; case 3: // Text node handleText(node, v, p); break; } } function handleText(textNode, val, p){ var v = textNode.nodeValue; v = v.replace(val, p); textNode.nodeValue = v; }
Hunting is hard, and that’s no surprise, really. It’s physically challenging, you have to be smart, have technique, and it’s just hard emotionally as well. And, not only is it hard, but you hate it as well.
Okay, hate is a strong word, but things about it, you really do hate. You hate the way you have to sacrifice what feels like everything for it. You hate the way you feel like you miss out on life. You hate the pain and the constant fear. You hate the way it forces you to see the world more black and white instead of with all the shades of grey. You hate the way you get shut down every time you question this. You hate the way your dad responds with ’because you have to’ when you ask ’why?’.
John Winchester used to be in the military and it shows, you could testify to that. All your life he has been hard on you and your brothers. But, despite this, you are not afraid to stand up to him, question him, call him out. Although it often comes with consequences.
”Why didn’t you listen to my orders?” John roar, dark brown eyes furiously staring at you, and it almost makes you squirm. Only, you don’t show it.
”Because your orders were stupid! It would have never worked!” You retort, standing as tall as you can, staring back.
Dean’s keeping in the background, absentmindedly clutching his upper arm, as his gaze anxiously and a little annoyedly shift between you and John. It’s like with Sam and Dad all over again.
”Don’t you dare speak to me like that little girl.” Your father threaten you through gritted teeth.
He’s angry. Real angry. Despite the tone and expression, you can tell by the vein popping out on the side of his forehead.
”You are a piss poor excuse of a hunter! Pathetic, really. So don’t you come here and tell me what’s good and not. If you just had done what I told you, Dean wouldn’t have gotten hurt!” John gestures towards Dean as he plays that card.
And it has affect on you as your heart clutches in remorse. Meanwhile, Dean’s eyes widen as John uses him to guilt his little sister. He even tries to chime in.
”Wait, Dad—”
But he’s immediately cut off by John. ”Quiet, Dean. This is between your sister and I.”
You roll your eyes at the irony. It’s not about Dean, but still, your dad is of course allowed to use him to make a point.
You shouldn’t have done that, because John grabs the front of your shirt, pulling you closer, gaze nailing you and boring into your soul.
”You don’t get to use that attitude. You’re a worthless hunter. You can’t track down a monster on your own. You can’t shoot. You definitely proved that today. You ignore my orders like a little brat. Hell, you never freaking listen!” John hisses and you feel a shiver going down your spine as you try not to wince.
You want to talk back, but you struggle with coming up with words, any words at all. So, you open your mouth only to close it again. And now, honestly, you are scared. Scared because you know your dad. And that would make anyone feel nervous right now.
The tension is broken by hands wrapping around John’s shoulders. It’s Dean, you never saw him walking over, since he was hidden behind the towering statue of John, but now he’s here and pulling John away.
”Go easy on her, Dad, she’s doing the best she can.” Your big brother tries, but John shuts him down, forcedly shrugging off his grip.
”Back off, Dean.” He spits and you shiver.
Although Dean would deny it, you and Sam always had been sure that he was the oldest Winchester’s favorite. And for John to go off on him like that, he had to be mad.
”You’re part of the problem too,” Your dad continues, turned towards Dean now. ”You continue to baby her. You know very well that when you were her age, you could hit a target with your eyes closed. You were miles ahead. So, you need to stop going soft on her. She needs to learn in order to become a hunter.”
You feel Dad’s every word, like a blow. ’She needs to learn.’ That doesn’t sound good to you, and internal warning bells go off, and you start feeling anxious with your heartbeat picking up even more. You try your best to push it all away, the feelings and thoughts, and focus. Stay calm, (Y/N).
Before you can think, you open your mouth, because suddenly there’s something — a thought — that wants out, that wants to be said and heard.
”But I never wanted to become a hunter.” You don’t even realize that it’s your voice at first. Immediately, when you do, you realize it was a mistake.
Because your dad starts stalking closer like a panther sneaking up on its prey. Soon he’s only inches away from you. Dean nervously shifts, watching.
”Too bad that’s not your choice to make. You’re my daughter and I call the shots around here.”
His tone is cold. The whole of him is worse than ever. Because, this might be one of his scariest moments, except for that one time he hit Sam, bad.
That night changed the way you saw your dad, forever. It might seem like an exaggeration, but it was definitely on the list of horrible things you’ve seen and would never forget. A list that’s already too long for your age. When said night occurred, you were only 13. Sam was 16 and Dean 20. Sam and your dad got into a heated argument, one of the worst of its kind, and John ended up connecting a fist to his youngest son’s cheek.
That moment flashes before your eyes right now. This feels all too much like that time. The situation over all is quite alike that one, now that you think of it.
It’s been quiet for a moment now. John — furious with a heaving chest and clenched fists — looks from you to Dean. You, his kids, are both clenching your jaws, your eyes cautiously yet intently glaring at your dad, never once breaking the glance. You’re positioned on opposite sides of John, and you’re keeping quiet, although both of your heads are buzzing with noisy, angry thoughts directed to the man who was supposed to raise you, protect you and make sure you get through life well, safe and sound.
”Okay, this is how it’s going to be.” The older man breaks the silence. ”Tomorrow, Dean, you’re going to leave. Early in the morning. I’ll find you a hunt, and you’re going to take the Impala, and sort it out. And then you’re not going to come back for a month, and by that I mean a complete month, not a day before. That is orders. Do you hear me?”
Your eyes widen, it feels like the air has been knocked out of you, merely by the message. You almost can’t breath again, you unknowingly hold your breath. Your heart pounds in your chest. You had never, up until now, realized how intimidating the thought of being completely alone with the man who was your biological father but hardly a father figure. Without your brothers there to help you. Without their protection and support.
Somewhere in the back of your mind, a voice speaks. ’Suck it up (Y/N). You can’t need their protection. You don’t get to rely on them all the damn time.’ You can’t tell whose voice it is, if it’s dark or light, if it’s feminine or masculine. If you could though, you weren’t too sure it would be yours, but instead, your dad’s.
Despite the thoughts clouding your senses, you still manage to meet Dean’s eyes. You briefly wondered if you had absentmindedly searched for his gaze, because of the connection you have, or if you simply happened to stare at him. Or maybe he was the one
searching for your eyes.
Dean looks sad. Apologetic. Worried.
An unwanted thought enters your mind. Maybe he doesn’t think you can handle yourself. Maybe he knows that you’re going to be lost without him?
John puts an end to your thinking. ”Do you understand me, son?”
Dean continues to look at you, until he finally draws his eyes away, to glance at John. Maybe he can’t take looking at you. Maybe he doesn’t want to.
”Yes, sir.”
The words are definite. Absolute. And now it’s real, Dean is leaving tomorrow, for sure.
”You, (Y/N).” He spits, whipping around to you, and you almost stagger back, by his sheer movement. ”You’re going to stay here with me. I’m going to train you. Turn you into a real hunter.”
You don’t dare asking what that means. But you probably deserved it. Not that you had done something wrong, you still think defying Dad’s orders tonight was the right call, and has been all the other times. But, you also know that he has been very hard on your brothers, in a way that he actually haven’t been on you. Training-wise. Otherwise, he might have been even harder, but that’s a story for another time.
”Now, do you understand?” Dad presses.
”Yes sir.” You say, quietly. Now, for the first time, you don’t look at him. You don’t want to give him the pleasure.
”One more time, louder. And look at me.”
You clench your jaw even harder, dreading it. But although you’re pissed, you do as he says.
”Yes sir.” You repeat yourself, eyes laid on his larger form.
He smiles ever so slightly, content. And you hate that. Absolutely despise it.
Turning around, you leave the joint kitchen and living room of the cabin you, Dad and Dean are renting, and walk off into the small, bare room you’re currently inhabiting as if it was your own. You close the door behind you — although you don’t slam it because that would only make your dad even angrier and who knows what would happen then. You lean against it, taking a deep breath as you stare up at the wooden ceiling, taking in the detailing in every piece of plank.
You stand there for a moment, feeling tired, defeated and empty. Soon enough you leave the door and air cooled off the area your body heat had warmed up, and you lie down on the bed. You don’t bother changing clothes, you’ve already taken off your jacket and shoes, and other than that, you didn’t get too dirty during this hunt. Besides, you just lied down on top of the covers and not under them. You don’t bother getting ready anymore than that either. You just want to fall asleep, escape from your thoughts. It doesn’t happen though, as you remain awake, looking out the window — situated on the wall opposite to the door as well as to the bed’s right — at the sun setting behind the trees. You succeed to keep your head fairly empty, keeping the difficult, dark thoughts away from your mind.
You lie there for a while, you would guess around an hour, but you can’t know for sure — until a knock tears through the thick silence. You hadn’t expected it, but it don’t startle you, and you don’t move one bit. Instead you continue lying on your side — arm tucked under the pillow and your head, knees slightly bent and drawn closer to your chest — inattentively staring out at the evening sky.
The door opens with a creak.
”Hi.” Dean’s voice reaches your ear.
You slightly lift up your head — that feels heavy — and look over your shoulder at him. As you do, the corners of Dean’s lips slightly curl upwards, but his eyes are round and sad. He almost looks like a puppy, or a young boy, and your stomach twists. He looks lost, tired, with messy hair, no leather jacket but only a black t-shirt on his upper body and a clean bandage wrapped around his upper arm, covering his wound.
Dean closes the door behind him. You lay down your head on your pillow again, but your sensitive ears hear Dean slither closer until the bed shifts as it dips down behind your back, the feathers squealing quietly.
You don’t even have to make room for him to lie down, because you’re already placed on the far edge closest to the window. He places his head on the other pillow — the bed has two, you found a spare one in the small closet of the cabin — and gives out a light groan, probably because of his arm and sore muscles. And then it’s quiet and still again.
He lies there, next to you, for a while. Without saying anything, just being there. For both your sakes, maybe even more for his than your own. But you can’t lie, it feels nice, comforting, reassuring. And soon enough, you roll over to your back, mimicking Dean’s position, staring up at the ceiling again.
Soon enough, you speak, words soft.
”I’ve screwed up.” It’s no whine, cry, or nervous claim. It’s only a statement, and you put no particular emotion behind your words.
It’s almost like it wasn’t you that had screwed up, but someone else. As if your worries only exist in someone else’s life. But that isn’t the truth is it?
Dean turns his face towards you, you can see it in the corner of your left eye. He inspects your face with his green eyes for a moment, until he ultimately turns his face towards the ceiling again and answers.
”Maybe. Judging by our life, our family situation. Our dad.” He pauses. ”But that’s only because it’s like this. If our lives were normal, apple-pie ones, you definitely would’ve done the right thing, standing up for yourself like you did.”
”He’s probably right, you know.” You state.
”What?
”That I need to become a real hunter. That I’m weak.” You explain further.
”Oh, come on, don’t say that.” Dean objects, but with less disagreement and emotion in his voice than you would’ve think. Maybe it’s because he’s subconsciously matching up his tone to fit better with your calm, quieter words.
”But it’s true.”
Although a few hours ago, you had been sure you were right, now you let your dad’s words get to you. You started believing them. Sure, sometimes you thought about yourself as weak and not a good hunter, but never as completely useless like you started to now.
”No, it’s not.” Dean retorts.
”It is.”
Dean’s following silence speaks for itself, but it gives off several possible messages. Maybe he’s just quiet because he knows he can’t win the argument. Maybe he knows it’s true and agrees with Dad.
You shake the last option off, although you know that you brought it up in the first place. It’s your fault.
”Sorry about your shoulder.” You switch topic, and this time you turn your head to look at Dean.
Dean dips his own head down and your eyes meet, though his face is partially hidden behind some of the pillows’ fluffiness. Dean looks up again.
”’Not your fault.”
You nod a little. Not that you agree, it is, but you know he will continue to think it wasn’t whatever you say, so you let it go.
It’s quiet for a while. The room progressively gets darker as the sun disappears completely from the sky, and it goes deep blue. You listen to Dean’s breathing as his chest heaves up and down, and you even close your eyes for a while. By now, the thoughts are almost completely gone and it feels great.
You could’ve fallen asleep right there and then; warm, on a fairly comfortable bed, beside one of the two people just love most in this world, but you don’t. Instead, you open your mouth one more time.
”I don’t want you to leave.” You whisper, because it feel so strange now to break the silence that’s been resting over the two of you for long now.
”I don’t want to leave,” comes the answer. You can’t see more of Dean than his silhouette in this lightening, but you can definitely feel his presence just as much as before.
It’s a sad excuse of a comfort, but it still feels a little bit better knowing that he feels the same way. And, somewhen after that, you do actually drift off to slumber, against all odds, tiredness from the hunt and fight enveloping you like a soft blanket.
You blink and instantly squint your newly awoken eyes against the white, bright light streaming in from the window — that does not have any blinds. Although, it has curtains, you just never pulled them close. You groggily take in the room, remembering that this is where you lived for now. A specific thought enter your mind and you immediately look over to your left, but the bed is empty. The only sign that someone ever lied there, is the slight crinkling of the white covers.
Piercing pain shoots through your body, starting from your heart as fear takes over. You almost cringe, turning into yourself. But then your trained ears catch something outside your closed bedroom door.
”No.” His voice is muffled, but there, and you feel yourself relax ever so slightly.
”You don’t want to?” It was Dad.
”No.”
”You have to, Dean.”
”Why?”
You rise your eyebrows. It’s unusual for your older brother to question John’s orders this much, that’s your job. He usually just accepted them and strode right into action. He must be really passionate about this, staying here. You feel a pull on your heartstrings as you exhaled softly. You may not have a lot in this life, but you have Dean. And that is more than enough.
”It’s orders, son.”
When Dean’s answer doesn’t come, you fly off your bed, heart in your throat. You run to the door, open it, and come to a stop in the doorway. There’s Dean, duffle bag in his hand, standing by the front door across the room from you. And there’s Dad, looking content up until he sees you.
”Go back to your room, (Y/N).”
You completely ignore him. Instead, you walk closer to Dean and Dad, almost reaching Dad who stands in the middle of the room.
”Your room, (Y/N).” He growls threateningly.
”Dean!” You call, trying to get him to look at you, but he just stares at the floor, clutching the handles of the bag harder.
You get sinking feeling in your stomach.
”Dean, please don’t go! Don’t leave me!” You try again, and you can’t seem to keep your voice stable, instead you sound desperate — which, well, you are.
You don’t actually know what Dad ’making you into a hunter’ meant, so you really don’t have a reason to be so scared. But, somehow, your instincts told you differently.
”Stay back!” Dad demands, as he puts out an arm and pushes you back, so hard that you stumble a few steps. ”Dead, you know what you have to do. It’s orders.”
”Dean!” You try calling again, feeling your eyes sting.
You watch how Dean looks at his shoes, nodding slowly as he clenches his jaw. Then, he turns around and grabs the door knob.
You instantly spin around, facing away from Dean and John, staring through the open door into your room. You can’t watch him leave, you can’t do it. Instead, you stare into nothing until you forcedly shut your eyes, mostly in reflex, as you hear the soft sound of the front door closing slowly.
You know Dean trusts Dad. He trusts him in a way you never can, and never have. So, you could only hope that’s the reason he now left you alone, and not the fact that he too thinks you’re weak and wants you to become a real hunter.
You hear shuffling behind you, and you know John turns to look at you.
”It’s just me and you now, princess.”
You hate that word. Princess. It’s deprecate, it’s like just because you’re a girl, you expect to be treated with kid gloves, like some royalty. Like you can’t handle it.
Although maybe you can’t.
”Let’s start right now, shall we?” You can hear your father’s smirk.
You take a deep breath, in and out. And, then you slowly turn around to face him. Because, you know he’s going to make you otherwise, and you’d rather do it with dignity.
So there you stand, tall and chin raised high, looking at him coldly. Tears have pricked in the corners of your eyes, but you ignore them, shoving your feelings around.
”Come here.” He instructs.
At first you don’t move, but when you see his expression, you cautiously make your way over. Your dad places his hand on your shoulder as you reach him, but you angrily shake it off.
Both of you walk outside, to the porch. There, John points at the opening of the forest.
”See that road?”
You ignore the urge to scoff. The gravel by the opening is hardly a road, more like a path. But, you nod anyway.
”I want you to run that track. 15 miles, maybe a bit more.”
You gulp.
You’ve always categorized yourself as more of the brain than the muscle. Sure, you constantly put your body under physical pressure, but, you and your family really didn’t have the best food habits. Burgers and canned food aren’t exactly healthy. What you did for a living compensated for this, since a hunt was surely a workout, but you could be in better shape. So, you are in pretty good shape, yes, but you’re no exceptional superhero who could just run 15 miles in the speed John wanted you to.
”Can I have breakfast?” You quietly ask. Surely you could, but you decide to not anger your dad by taking things for granted.
”No.”
Your eyes widen — I’m going to faint — but you give a single nod. Then, you turn around to walk inside, to your room, again.
John stops you by putting out an arm, blocking the entrance inside.
”Where do you think you’re going?” You look up at him, and see that his eyebrows are high on his forehead, questioning you.
”To switch clothes…” You innocently explain, before looking down at your t-shirt and jeans.
”I don’t think so.” John obeys, and you’re not even surprised. Of course you can’t.
What surprises you slightly is him forcedly grabbing your shoulders, turning your around, and giving you a hard shove across the porch, so that you almost trip and fall down the couple of stairs down to ground level. You stumble down them though, breath stuck in your throat, heart pounding.
While you regain your footing and then balance, John yells after you.
”Now, show me you’re not completely worthless, stupid girl!”
His words hurt, but once again you repress your feelings. Determination settles in on you, and you make a promise to yourself. I’m going to show him.
And then your start running.
A/N (again): And, as I said, there will be more parts to this! I haven’t written them yet but I know what I want to happen, so, yeah. There’s gonna be a bit more action in later parts to make up for this lol. This is kind of a teaser (hysterically long)/an opening for what’s to come.
💛 Bye, Bye, Apple Pie (29 Chapters on ff.net) - currently in revision.
Dean and his sister, Nora, have spent the last year adjusting to the 'apple pie' life with Lisa and Ben. For the youngest Winchester, this meant adjusting to life without hunting, without Sam, and without Castiel. Follow along as the Winchester brothers and their little sister navigate life starting in Season 6.
💛 Birthday Pie: Dean & Nora
Things are different for Nora and Dean Winchester now that Sam is gone and they’ve moved in with Ben and Lisa, but some traditions are just too important to let go of, especially the ones that involve pie.
💛 Don’t You Dare Touch Me: Dean & Nora
When Sam and Dean let Nora in on a hunt, she gets more of an experience than she bargains for. She deals with it the only way she’s ever seen a hunter deal—by burying it deep down below a level of anger and alcohol.
💛 Bobby’s DreamHouse™: Bobby & Nora (with Dean & Sam)
In an attempt to convince her brothers that she’s ready to hunt, Nora agrees to a training session with Sam and Dean, leaving her more than a bit sore the next morning.
💛 Subject Matter Expert: Dean & Nora (with Bobby)
Nora’s been nightmare-free for months, the terror of her encounter with the djinn seemingly forgotten until Dean and Sam are away on a job, too busy for coddling. Now that the hunt is over, it’s time for the Winchesters to fix things.
💛 A Welcome Reprieve: Sam & Nora
Just a moment of reprieve between Sam and Nora Winchester while Dean is being put through the Demon curing ritual.
Psychic Wars Part 8. Simon Said Part 1
Note:  I do not own any of the Supernatural characters or stories, but I do own Dakota Winchester. Please leave comments and let me know if you want to be tagged.
Summary: Sequel to Dakota Elizabeth Winchester
Part 1   Part 2   Part 3   Part 4    Part 5   Part 6   Part 7
Masterlist
Dakota and Dean were sitting in a booth at a run down diner in the middle on nowhere when Sam came back to their table clutching his head.
“You okay?” Dean asked.
“It happened again.” Sam said, standing next to the table. They didn't have to ask what he meant. He had had another vision.
“Let’s go.” Dakota said standing up and throwing a few bills on the table before walking out to the car.
“Don’t you think we’re overreacting just a little. Why don’t we just chill out and think about this?” Dean said after an hour of silence in the car, except for the quiet rock music playing from the radio.
She looked up her brothers as Sam glared at Dean, “What is there to think about?”
“Just don’t know if going to the Roadhouse is the smartest idea.” Dean said.
“Really?” Dakota sassed.
“Dean, it’s another premonition, I know it. This is going to happen.” Sam explained.
“Yeah, and Ash is the man with the answers. He can tell us where.” Dakota said.
“Plus, it could connection with the demon.” Sam added.
“Kota, how did you meet these people again?” Dean asked.
“Dad used to leave me there when I was in my early teens and then I crashed with them for a few months while I was looking for you.” Dakota explained and Dean nodded in understanding.
“Why were you looking for Dean?” Sam asked and Dakota waved him off.
“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you later.” She shrugged.
“Look, my point is that there are going to be hunters there and I don’t know announcing that you two are some kind of Supernatural freaks with demonic connections is the best idea.” Dean explained
Dakota felt a pang in her chest as Dean called her and Sam freaks, “So now we’re freaks?” Sam asked.
“You two have always been freaks.” He smiled trying to play it off like he was just talking about them as siblings, but at that moment Dakota knew that Dean saw her as something other than human. Something to be feared.
……….
They pulled up to the Roadhouse later that night and the minute Dakota walked through the doors Ellen swept her up in a tight hug. Ellen and Jo pulled her over to an open table where they caught up as the boys went to grab Ash from his room.
“How’s school?” Dakota asked Jo who rolled her eyes. Dakota knew that Jo didn’t want to be in college, but Ellen was making her.
“Don’t start that again Johannah Beth. Do you know how badly this girl wanted to be in your shoes?” Ellen said pointing at Dakota who threw her hands up in surrender.
“Mom!” Jo whined and Dakota looked around for her brothers, desperately trying to find a way out of another family feud over higher education.
“I think the boys are calling me.” Dakota said, excusing herself from the conversation and quickly jogging over to where she had seen her brothers.
Ash was sitting at one of the tables with his laptop out with Sam sitting next to him while Dean grabbed some drinks from the bar. Dakota grabbed a chair and sat next to Ash.
“Hey Dr. Badass.” Dakota said, knowing that was what he liked to be called while he was “geniousing” as he called it.
“Hey kid.” He said not looking away from the computer, “I found that symbol you were looking for Sam. It’s the logo for Blue Ridge bus line in Guthrie, Oklahoma.” Ash read.
“Okay. Do me a favor, check for signs of demonic omens or around there.” Sam said.
“You think your demon is there?” Ash asked as he started typing and Dakota looked over his shoulder.
“Maybe.” She muttered.
“Why would you think that?” Ash asked as Dean walked up and set four beers on the table.
“Just check it, alright?” He said.
Ash typed for a moment before sitting back in his chair, “No, sir. No demon. No nothing.”
“Can you do me another favor. Search Guthrie for a house fire. It would have been around 1983.” Sam said and Dakota leaned further over Ash’s shoulder.
“Nothing. Anything more specific?” Ash asked.
“The origin of the fire would have been the baby’s nursery the night of the kid’s six-month birthday.” Dakota specified.
“Okay, that is just weird, girl. Why the Hell would I be looking for that.” Ash asked.
“‘Cause there’s a PBR in it for you if you do.” She promised.
“Give me fifteen minutes.” He said turning back to the computer.
The Winchester’s sat around sipping their drinks for a while before R.E.O. Speedwagon started playing and Dean had to go start a fight with Jo over her music choice.
“And there’s a match.” Ash said leaning across the table and grabbing the beer Dakota had promised him.
“I’ll go get Dean. Can you print this out?” Dakota asked standing up and walking towards Jo and Dean, “We gotta go.” She said. Dean nodded and started heading for the door while Dakota grabbed Jo in a hug, “I’ll call you soon. Have fun at school. Don’t give your mom too much of a hard time.”
……….
“So what have we got?” Dean asked once they were on the road.
“Andrew Gallagher. Born in ‘83.” Sam read.
“Like us.” Dakota said leaning forward so she could talk to her brothers.
“Lost his mother in a fire when he was six months old.” Sam continued.
“Also like us.”
“You think the demon killed his mom?” Dean asked.
“Sure looks like it.” Dakota said.
“How did you even know to look for this guy?” Dean asked.
“Every premonition I’ve had, if they're not about the demon, they’re about the other kids the demon visited. Like Max Miller, remember him?” Sam asked. Dakota remembered that vividly, it was rather hard to forget that she one time stopped a bullet using her mind.
“Yeah, but Max Miller was a basic little psycho.” Dean pointed out.
“Point is her was killing people and I was having the same type of visions about him. And now it could be happening all over again with this Gallagher guy.” Sam said.
“How do we find him?” Dean asked.
“We wait for Sam to have another vision, or we try to find the one person in town who’s emotions I can’t read.” Dakota joked.
“That might be our only option. No current address.  No current employment. He still owes money on all his bills.” Sam read off.
“Collection agency flag?” Dakota asked.
“Not in the system.” Sam said.
“What?” Dakota asked.
“They just let him take a walk?” Dean questioned.
“Seems like it.” Sam shrugged. “There’s a work address from his last W-2 about a year ago.”
“I guess we’re starting there.” Dakota said.
……….
Early the next morning Dakota was sitting in her FBI clothes in a diner with her brothers talking to the head waitress.
“You won’t get anything out of Andy. I’m sorry, but they never do.” She smiled sweetly, her voice had a thick southern accent to it and her blond hair was loose around her shoulders.
“‘They’?” Sam asked.
“You’re debt collectors aren’t you?” She asked setting the coffee pot down, “Once in awhile they come by. I don’t know what Andy says to them, but they never come back.”
“Actually we’re lawyers representing his great aunt Lita. She passed- God rest her soul- left Andy a sizeable estate.” Dean said.
“Yeah. Are you a friend of Andy’s do you know where we could find him?” Dakota asked.
“I used to be. I don’t see much of Andy anymore.” The waitress said looking down at her hands.
“Andy? Andy kicks ass man.” A server said coming up next to them and leaning on the counter.
“Is that right?” Dean asked.
“Yeah. He can get you into anything. He even got me backstage at Aerosmith once. It was beautiful.” The server said.
“I want to go backstage at an Aerosmith concert!” Dakota pouted.
“You don’t even like Aerosmith.” Dean pointed out.
“Yeah, but I wouldn’t say no to getting in backstage.” She said.
“She gets it.” The sever said pointing at Dakota.
“That’s great. How ‘bout bussing a table or two, Webber?” The waitress said and Webber sulked off, “Look, if you want to find Andy, try Orchard Street. Just look for a van with a barbarian queen painted on the side.”
“A barbarian queen?” Dean asked and Dakota felt her face scrunch in confusion.
“She’s riding a polar bear.” The waitress shrugged.
……….
A van with a barbarian queen riding a polar bear on the side of it was not something that was hard to miss and they found it parked on Orchard Street. Unfortunately it was empty so they sat in the Impala waiting for Andy to show up.
“I’m sorry, but I’m starting to like this dude. That van is sweet.” Dean said after a minute.
“How much are you willing to bet there is shag carpet in the back?” Dakota asked.
“Oh...five bucks. Sammy, you in?” Dean asked and Dakota turned to she a look of worry on Sam’s face.
“Dude, you look like you’re sucking on a lemon. What’s wrong?” Dakota asked.
“This Andy Gallagher, he’s the second guy like this we’ve found. The demon came to them when they were kids and now they’re killing people.” Sam said.
“We don’t know what Andrew Gallagher is. He could be innocent.” Dean said.
“The demon said he has plans for me and the children like me. Maybe this is his plan. Maybe we’re all a bunch of psychic freaks!” Sam said.
“Dude, I’m an empath. You have visions. That’s not really psycho psychic killer material.” Dakota said.
“How are you handling this situation so calmly?!” Sam asked turning around in his seat.
Dakota shrugged, “Demons lie. Maybe there is no plan for us and whatever happens happens. I haven’t started losing it and trying to kill everyone yet, so I’m not gonna worry about if I might one day.”
“Got him.” Dean said. Dakota turned and saw Andy walking out of a house and waving to a girl in the window who was wearing lingerie. She looked back at Andy who she had to admit was cute if not a little dorky, with his dark bed head, stubble, brown eyes, and a kimono on with sweats and a band tee shirt. He walked up street and stopped a man, had a short conversation, then took the man’s coffee before continuing as if nothing had happened. He walked up to someone else and shook their hand and Dakota saw Sam sit up.
“That’s him. The older guy, that’s the shooter.” Sam said.
“Okay, you two keep a watch on him. I’ll stick with Andy.” Dean instructed and they climbed out of the car before following the man as he turned down the street. They followed him all the way to the main street before he stopped and pulled out his phone, just like he had in Sam’s vision.
“We need to bet him to the gun shop.” Sam whispered and they ran across the street before the older man even got off the phone. Dakota stood outside the store while Sam went inside and not a minute later the fire alarm went off. Sam came out and stood next to her as the man approached, saw that the store was now closed and walked away right as some college age guy on a skateboard rode by and whistled causing Dakota to roll her eyes.
“Did that guy just whistle at you? With me standing right next to you?” Sam asked in shock.
“Welcome to the wonderful world of being a woman.” Dakota responded.
“But, I’m standing right next to you! For all that guy knows I could have been your boyfriend!” Sam exclaimed.
“Would you relax. Those boys don’t break my stride, plus if I’m in the mood it will not be with some dude who is whistling ‘cause he has nothing to say.” Dakota explained as a car drove by and honked at her and she rolled her eyes, “Or who’s honking at me from his Chevrolet.” She said pointing to the car that just drove by, “Wait. That’s our Chevrolet! That’s the Impala!!” She cried and she pulled out her phone.
“Dean. What the Hell?” She asked.
“Andy got the Impala.” He pouted.
“Yeah, I just saw him drive by. Again, what the Hell happened?” She repeated.
“He just sort of asked me for it and I let him take it, okay? He full-on Obi Wan-ed me. It’s mind control.” Dean yelled and then there were screams coming from behind her. Dakota turned around and saw that the man she and Sam had been following had been hit by a bus.
“I kept out of the gun store.” Sam whispered, his face going pale and Dakota put a hand on his shoulder, “I thought he was okay. I thought he was past it.”
Dean ran up to them a few minutes later and found them sitting on the curb while police swarmed the area.
“Come on. Let’s head to the diner and try to figure out what’s going on.” Dean said pulling Dakota and Sam to their feet.
They walked for twenty minutes before they stumbled across the diner and saw the Impala sitting unharmed in front of the store and Dakota smiled as Dean ran over to the car and practically hugged it.
“I’m sorry, Baby. I’ll never leave you again.” He promised his beloved car. Dakota looked in the front seat.
“Well, at least he left the keys in.” Dakota said.
“Yeah, real Samaritan, this guy.” Dean grumbled, “Looks like he can’t work his mojo just by twitching his nose. He’s got to use verbal commands.”
“The doctor had just gotten off his phone when he stepped in front of that bus.” Sam recalled and Dakota remembered someone at the scene saying the man had been a doctor of sorts, “Andy must have called him or something.”
“I just don’t know that he’s our guy.” Dean said.
“You had O.J. convicted before he even stepped out of his Bronco, and you have doubts about this?” Sam asked fixing Dean with a glare.
“I agree that he doesn’t seem like the stone-cold killer type, but he must be connected.” Dakota said.
“And for the record, O. J. was guilty!” Dean snapped.
“Either way, how are we going to track this guy down?” Sam asked.
Dean smirked then walked away, leaving Dakota and Sam to jog to catch up with him.
Overcooked
Request: Could you do one were the reader is over worked with research for the boys and one day when they ask her to do some more research she just breaks and tells them how she feels? I’m a sucker for a fluffy ending ! Thank you so much if you decide to go ahead with it !
A/N: I had fun with this one, I hope that you at least kinda like it!
Your head is pounding against your skull as you turn the page. You can’t remember the last time that you actually slept, or ate. Your brothers trust you with the necessary mythological research for this case, and you don’t wanna let them down, especially because they have so much on their plates. It’s just hard to stay on top of it all when your vision is starting to get spotty.
So far, the boys have figured out that they’re looking for the Greek goddess of Mischief, named Até. You’re doing everything in your power to find a way to stop her while they deal with the havoc that she’s wreaked across town, but she is, after all, a goddess. It’s proving difficult.
You power through as best as you can, and you finally are about halfway through writing down a useful spell to stop Até when you feel a hand on your shoulder that makes you jump.
“Woah there, kiddo, didn’t mean to scare you,” Dean says, bemused. “Just wanted to see how the research is going.”
You put on your best smile and look up at Dean, who got back from the town a few hours ago and allowed himself a nice nap while Sam went out to get himself dinner. You try your best to not be annoyed. “Let me just finish writing this spell, and I think I’ll be all done!”
Dean ruffles your hair. “Nice work, squirt.”
You hand him the paper, and he takes it, whistling a tune to himself as he goes to find Sam so that they can stop Até. When he’s gone, you slam the books shut and bury your face in your arms. Finally. You can rest.
Last week, you were at a diner with your brothers when Dean was given a steak that he described as “drastically overcooked.” That’s how you feel. You feel like a drastically overcooked steak.
You stretch out a bit in your chair, ready to stand up and get some rest, when the boys come bursting through the door.
“It’s not Até,” Sam says, grabbing your laptop and opening it up, standing with it as he types in some thingsk.
“What?” You blink in confusion at your brother.
“It’s a trickster spirit, but we don’t know who,” Dean adds.
“We need you to look into potential disguises for a trickster in this town,” Sam says, handing your laptop towards you. You simply stare at it, not being able to bring yourself to take it.
You feel dizzy and pissed off, and everything that you’ve bottled up comes out in the exhausted exclamation, “I’m a steak, guys!”
Your brothers stare blankly at you.
“Uh, come again?” Sam prompts.
You can no longer help the tears that begin to brim your eyes. “I’m drastically overcooked, like Dean’s steak. I haven’t slept, I haven’t eaten, I can barely see, my head hurts so badly and if I stare at any more words I might combust! I’m burnt out, guys, I... this is too much research for me. I need help,” you sadly admit.
The looks on your brothers’ faces soften, and you suddenly feel terrible, sighing. “Nevermind, I’m sorry. I’ll find the trickster,” you say, reaching for your laptop from Sam, but he pulls it back.
“No, you’re not gonna find the trickster, we are. You’re gonna get some rest,” Sam says.
“Y/N, you should’ve told us,” Dean adds, going to stand next to his brother.
You roll your eyes. “No, really, guys, it’s okay. I had my dramatic outburst, I’m good now. I can do this,” you stand up so that you can grab the laptop from Sam, who is holding it close to him, but as soon as you do you begin to sway on your feet, and your vision gets a bit spotty.
“Y/N!” Dean steadies you with his hands on your shoulders right before you’re about to tip over. “Oh, kid, you are overcooked...”
Sam places your laptop on the table and scoops you up, ignoring your feeble protests as he carries you to your room and places you on your bed. Dean isn’t too far behind him, holding a bowl of your favorite food and a glass of water.
“Come on, munchkin. Eat,” Dean says, pulling the chair from your desk up to the side of your bed and sitting in it, as Sam climbs onto the bed with you. You don’t do much to protest now, you just gratefully accept the bowl and eat it, starting to feel a lot better already.
“You gotta tell us when you’re getting burnt out, bean. We know that you’re not superhuman, we’ll understand if you need a break,” Sam says gently. Dean nods in agreement.
“Sammy’s right. All you gotta do is ask for help, Y/N/N. We’ll always be there,” Dean says, and he takes the bowl from your hands as he sees that you’re struggling to keep your eyes open.
“I just didn’t wanna disappoint you. The case is the priority,” you say, sinking into Sam a bit, prompting him to start running a gentle hand through your hair.
“You would never disappoint us by taking care of yourself, sweetheart,” Dean says, rubbing your arm gently as he sees you start to drift off in Sam’s arms.
“You’re the priority, Y/N,” Sam says, pressing a soft kiss to your hair.
Your brothers watch your breaths even out as you finally fall asleep. Dean enventually stands up.
“I’m gonna go finish the research. Stay with the little steak,” he says, chuckling to himself as he walks out of the room.
Sam in Stars Hallow ✨
prologue
Tumblr media
Enjoy!!!
The air was thick with tension, not even a butter knife could cut threw it. The three men in your life all silent.
Dean was standing in the back, looking away. John was face to face with your twin.
“If you guys leave, don’t bother coming back!” Our own father had said that.
Sam looked to Dean, then to you. “Let’s go y/n”
He grabbed your bags and left the motel with the door slamming shut.
You looked at your father, then at your eldest brother.
“ I-“
“Go y/n, go and don’t come back” Dean said.
With one last look at your family, you finally left the room to catch up with your twin brother.
