Nach all dem Unfug ein Klassiker aus dem National Theatre. Von 1707! Verarmte Schönlinge versuchen mit List, bevor sie in den Krieg ziehen müssten, stattdessen reiche Frauen zu heiraten und geben sich in einer zweifelhafen Spelunke als reiche Edelmann mit Diener aus. Da es sich bei The Beaux' Stratagem um eine Komödie handelt, klappt das natürlich, nach einigen Schwierigkeiten. Daß eine der reichen Frauen verheiratet ist, ist noch die kleinste. Aus dem National Theatre mit dem immer entzückenden Samuel Barnett, Gesang, Tanz und irgendwie schon wieder reichlich Unfug.

📽️ Death on the Nile (2022)

I really looked forward to this because I loved Murder on the Orient Express. Unfortunately, this one did not live up to its predecessor. Now, I’ve never read the book, so I don’t know how closely it follows the book. But I thought this was predictable. I was hoping for some twist at the end that I didn’t see coming, but the culprit was who I thought it would be. That was disappointing. I hope the book is better or different, because this movie did not make me want to read it.

Sex/nudity: 3/10 (kissing, references to sex, innuendoes, sexual dialogue)

Language: 2/10 (pretty mild)

Violence: 7/10 (the whole thing is about a murder)

Overall rating: 5/10

In aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Jamie will be taking to the stage on December 4th in Uncle Glen’s Menagerie.

Uncle Glen’s Menagerie sees performers thrown together for a fun, unexpected set of performances. Recreating famous scenes, the actor goes in knowing the script, while pitched against an improviser who does exactly that, and while knowing absolutely nothing, they have to work out the scene.

Taking place at the Arcola Theatre in London THIS Sunday, for one night only!
