Did some practice doodles of PAM in a similar vein to the Jori ones from a bit back, since my art of the duo has mostly been Jori-centric and I wanted to give PAM the spotlight (and practice getting her design down of course, since she's a bit trickier get right than Jori).
#smug and overconfident energy being who hates being mislabeled as a robot or AI#(also trying to find purpose in her life and is going through a bit of an identity crisis rn)#she's easy enough to draw symmetrically#but I still have to consider how she works at a 3/4 angle/in 3D space (also her proportions are still up in the air)#kinda getting a hang for how to make her design work tho#dw Jori is only being a hater for story reasons#(he still thinks she's cool and they eventually make up)#those gladiator robots have no greater processing capabilities for anything that isn't related to violent bloodshed#so that probably counts as an “I forgive you”#artwork#myartwork#original art#ocs#myocs#sketches#jori#PAM#sci fi#robots

I know this is probably a cultural thing, but I simply cannot fathom calling my parents/older relatives by just their first names. "Hi Emily, how are the grandkids doing?" "Excuse me Peter, could you pass the hot water please?" Simply awful, go straight to super hell for utmost lack of filial piety, do not pass Go, do not collect red pocket money. As far as I'm concerned, my older relatives have no first names. Hello Younger Maternal Aunt, how are you? Sorry Second Paternal Great-Uncle, I can't make it to family dinner this weekend. It sounds better in the original Cantonese.
#the valley is posting#one thing about chinese families is that everyone has everyone's birth order permanently memorized#because your titles for various relatives depend on their birth order and your relation to that birth order#there are also different words for aunts; uncles; and grandparents depending on whether they're maternal or paternal#so if your mom has a brother who has kids; you and your cousins will call the same set of grandparents by different names#you will call them 'gong gong' and 'po po'; they will call them 'ye ye' and 'ma ma'#and it gets even more complicated with aunts and uncles because that's where birth order comes in#my grandpa had four younger siblings so we call them second great-uncle; third great-uncle; fourth great-aunt; and fifth great-uncle#my mom was a smack-dab middle child in a very symmetrical birth order so it's very easy with her siblings#older maternal aunt; older maternal uncle; younger maternal uncle; younger maternal aunt#all this to say that i was fully ten or eleven years old before i learned everyone's (english) names because you simply do not use them

When I see "transitive", I can't help think of equivalence relations (a maths thing), which I know are defined by three properties: they are transitive (A~B and B~C => A~C), reflexive (A~B => B~A), and the other one (A~A is true), but I can't remember the name of the other one.
Then I look up equivalence relations and find the "other one" is actually "reflexive", what I think is called "reflexive" is actually called "symmetric", and it's fine.
if shes your girl then why have i slowly been replacing her parts until there’s nothing left of her original body? is she then still your girl?
#equivalence relations#transitive#reflexive#symmetric#the tilde is pronounced twiddles#because that's easier than always saying is equivalent to

i love that we’re sharing canon stuff so I HAVE MINE. 🤝🏻
lando and reader with a spine tattoo. he will OWN doggy. and he will make you LOVE doggy.
he will make his own priority and aim in life to worship that and be obsessed with it because he’s in complete adoration
High-key shaking in my boots at this one, folks.

First, the type of spine tattoo Lando would be obsessed with: I feel like he’d go crazy for something minimal yet intricate. Based on his helmet designs, maybe something geometric and symmetrical, clean lines that match his love for sleek aesthetics, you know? Something understated but unforgettable. The type that makes him double take every time you turn your back on him. SCREAMING
Now, let me say this louder for the people in the back: 🗣 Lando already owns doggy. It's one of his go-to positions, especially when he just needs to let off steam. This man is not just participating; he’s optimizing. CRYING He also has a technique, and the way I picture it? AW LORDY One knee firmly planted on the mattress while the other knee is up, foot is grounded to give him stability and leverage to grip you just right. It’s the kind of setup that gives him just enough control to hit exactly where he knows will make you lose your mind. THROWING UP And the way he’d alternate between slow, teasing strokes and deep, mind-melting thrusts? GOODBYE
Then, to feel him leaning forward to kiss or bite his way down the length of it, whispering something like, “My favorite view,” or “You have no idea how much this drives me insane.” I WILL SOON COMBUST
Finally, imagine how this man would most likely end up like Pavlov’s dog whenever he catches even a glimpse of that tattoo. Trained to react instantly, he wouldn’t even need full context LMAO. You could be walking past him in a tank top, and the second that tattoo peeks out, it’s game over.
Me, sitting down to touch grass immediately.

[PS: These are my own observations. For entertainment purposes only. Have fun.💚]
🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩
(Sun in a groom persona chart represents his core identity, ego, and how he presents himself as a husband. It is symbolic of his willpower, leadership qualities, self-expression, and the life force that he brings into the marital relationship. The position of the Sun in the signs shows what kind of energy he carries, how he would handle responsibilities, and what role he would play in the union.)
Sun in Aries
In the groom pc, having Sun in Aries attracts bold, energetic, and passionate spouse. Most likely, he would be the head or the dominant in the relation. It makes him very adventurous, enthusiastic to try everything new in this marriage, but his individuality could overpower him and cause impatience or dominance. He is the protector of his woman, even taking on the role of "hero" when it comes to his girlfriend or wife. He is independent and may require a partner who can appreciate their energetic vibes while maintaining emotional equilibrium. His leadership can be inspiring, yet it should also be modulated to include his partner's needs.
{Spouse likely has a sharp, angular face with prominent features and a high forehead, exuding confidence and energy.}
Sun in Taurus
The Sun in Taurus makes the groom a practical and reliable person as he values stability. He feels good if his environment is comfortable and secure, and he works hard to make his partner feel valued. Taurus Suns are sensual and base a lot of their marital satisfaction on physical connection and comfort. They can be resistant to change and love routine and tradition. They are loyal partners but at times can be possessive. The beauty, luxury, and finer things in life are truly appreciated by this groom, and he often strives to create a beautiful home.
{Spouse may have a round or oval face with soft, symmetrical features and a pleasant, earthy charm.}
Sun in Gemini
He is curious, communicative, and versatile. He brings intellectual excitement and humor into the relationship, never a dull moment. Versatile and sociable, he likes to share ideas and enjoy lively discussions with his mate. His restless nature may at times make him appear inconsistent, absent-minded, and so on. He needs a partner who can appreciate his lively mind and understand his varied interests. This groom does well in relationships with good lines of communication and shared curiosity.
{The spouse could have a narrow, oval face with expressive eyes and lively, youthful features.}
Sun in Cancer
He is deeply nurturing, empathetic, and protective. He values emotional connection and creates a sense of home and family in the marriage. His intuitive nature makes him highly attuned to his partner's needs, often going out of his way to provide comfort. At times, he may struggle with moodiness or clinginess. A Cancer Sun groom needs a partner who understands his sensitivity and shares his desire for a close-knit family life.
{A moon-like, round or soft face with gentle, nurturing expressions is typical for the spouse.}
Sun in Leo
He is charismatic, warm-hearted, and proud. He looks at marriage as a stage on which to shine and generally assumes a leadership role in the relationship. Generous and loyal, he loves showering his partner with affection and admiration and expects admiration in return. While his confidence can be inspiring, he may at times come off as self-centered. This groom does best when his partner supports his ambitions and shares his enthusiasm for life.
{The spouse often has a regal, well-defined face with strong bone structure and a radiant, magnetic presence.}
Sun in Virgo
Husband is practical, detail-oriented, and committed to his self-improvement project. He brings stability and dependability into the relationship, many times going out of his way in order to solve problems and make good order. He loves his partner who shares an appreciation for organization and hard work. Sometimes, he could make his partner's life hard through being too critical or perfectionist, which might be a tense source in their relationship. When a Virgo Sun husband is appreciated for his work, he thrives.
{Spouse may possess a delicate, heart-shaped face with fine, symmetrical features and a refined appearance.}
Sun in Libra
Husband is charming, tactful, and loves to establish a marriage that is just harmonious. He prefers justice and desires a balanced partnership wherein both parties are equal. His love for aesthetics and romance alone can create a beautiful and loving environment for his spouse. Nevertheless, his need to evade conflicts may at times elicit indecision or repression of his own needs. A Libra Sun husband thrives well in a relationship where mutual respect and collaboration are established.
{The spouse likely has an oval or symmetrical face with balanced, harmonious features and an attractive, graceful demeanor.}
Sun in Scorpio
Husband of a Scorpio Sun in the groom pc will be an experience of depth, passion, and an almost irreversible commitment. Pressing into intense intimacy, or a probe into the depths of life, are the ways he might pursue his partner. He desires transformation for himself and from his partner. This could mean he sometimes can become possessive or controlling. A Scorpio Sun needs trust, honesty, and emotional toughness from his wife to have a successful marriage.
{Spouse may have a square or intense face with piercing eyes, strong jawlines, and an enigmatic aura.}
Sun in Sagittarius
The Sagittarius Sun in groom pc husband is free-spirited, optimistic, and adventurous. He has fun in the relationship and gives his partner an urge for new experiences. Freedom is important to him, and he needs a partner who will respect his need for freedom. While his enthusiasm is contagious, his lack of focus or commitment to some routines may frustrate the spouse at times. A Sagittarius Sun husband really thrives when his mate loves adventure and personal growth as he does.
{A long, oval face with high cheekbones and a bright, adventurous expression often describes the spouse.}
Sun in Capricorn
Ambitious, responsible, and intent upon building a stable future, the Capricorn Sun groom regards marriage as both an obligation and an opportunity to extend his role of provider and protector. Practical by nature, he works hard to assure a successful long-term partnership, though at times his work or responsibilities may make him appear a little distant or serious. An Capricorn Sun boyfriend thrives in an appreciation of his efforts within a relationship and feels supported on his journey to success.
{The spouse may have a chiseled, rectangular face with defined bone structure and a mature, poised look.}
Sun in Aquarius
The groom with the Sun in Aquarius is a nonconformist who values independence and individuality in his marriage. He brings a unique twist into the relationship and mostly confronts conventional standards. While intellectually and socially attached, he values a partner who sees his vision for progress and change. His detached nature may sometimes make him emotionally unavailable. This groom thrives in relationships where freedom and mutual respect are emphasized.
{Spouse could have a unique or unconventional face shape, often oval, with sharp features and a futuristic vibe.}
Sun in Pisces
The Pisces Sun is the groom pc is compassionate, dreamy, and emotionally intuitive. He marries with the utmost romanticism and idealizes his spouse. His creative and emotional nature makes him a tender and caring partner. Since he can sometimes be very imaginary and flee from strife, he can create misunderstandings. A Pisces Sun feels most happy with a spouse who can share his emotions and creativity.
{A soft, rounded face with dreamy, delicate features and expressive, soulful eyes is common for the spouse.}

🪞Physical appearance of your future spouse🪞

Masterlist
Pile 1
Your future spouse will have a lighter complexion. Their hair color will range from blonde to light brown, but for most of you I’m seeing a blonder color. They appear to be quite tall. They have a strong and almost intimidating appearance, but I don’t get the impression that they work out a lot, so they could just naturally be more on the muscular side. They also have a beard. This person is most likely older than you. For some the age difference could be up to 10 years. For others it’s more like 3-5 years. This person also has really nice strong hands. I’m getting more of a masculine vibe for this pile. Your future spouse has more traditionally masculine features. I’m seeing that this person has a strong jaw line and thick eyebrows. Their eyes are most likely blue and deep set, for some of you their eyes are a light hazel. They also have a very nice prominent nose. Their appearance overall looks to be very balanced and symmetrical, most people would find this person to be attractive.
Pile 2
Your future spouse has more of a darker complexion. Their hair color will range from dark brown to black. This person has either wavy or curly hair. Their skin could be olive toned or darker. For some this person could have very dark skin. They will have brown eyes.
This person has a sturdy and medium sized build. They are average height.
They have a square face shape. They also wear their hair very short. This person looks quite young. They have a very youthful appearance, for some this person could be younger than you.
Your future spouse might have a unconventional look. They might dress in a alternative way. They have a free spirited personality, so they like to be experimental in the way they dress. This person could also have some type of scar or injury that alters their appearance in some way. For some the injury is related to their legs specifically.
Pile 3
Your future spouse has long hair that is black and very straight. Their skin is more on the paler side. I feel like this person has very nice skin. They might invest a lot into their skincare routine or they just have good genetics. They have a very high contrast kind of a look. Their appearance is very dreamy and mysterious. Their eyes are very dark almost black. This person has sharp and angular facial features, but there is still a softness about them. Their nose is small and they have thin eyebrows. Their face is a bit bird like, but in a attractive kind of way. They have a very strong and athletic body. They definitely work out a lot. Their body is built very nicely. It is noticeable that they put in a lot of effort in the gym. This person is slightly above average in terms of height. There is a softness about them. They have feminine features whether they are a man or woman.
Your future spouse has very sparkly eyes. I feel like this is one of the things that people notice the most about them.

The difference with Sun, Moon, and Rising in signs: Libra - Pisces
Libra Sun:
A Libra Sun expresses identity through relationships, harmony, and aesthetic sensibility. These individuals see themselves as peacemakers, valuing fairness, diplomacy, and cooperation. Their ego is shaped by the quality of their connections—they often define themselves in relation to others. Libra Suns are charming and graceful, with a natural talent for seeing multiple perspectives. They’re motivated by beauty, balance, and justice, and may avoid conflict to maintain peace. While they strive for harmony, they can struggle with indecisiveness or people-pleasing tendencies.
Libra Moon:
A Libra Moon seeks emotional balance, often processing feelings through intellectual or social filters. These individuals are soothed by calm environments, pleasant company, and thoughtful conversation. They have a strong need for emotional reciprocity and may feel unsettled when relationships feel imbalanced. Emotional expression is usually tactful and controlled—they prefer to avoid drama or confrontation. There’s a desire to be liked and emotionally validated, which can sometimes lead to suppressing their own needs to keep the peace.
Libra Rising:
Libra Rising people present themselves as polite, diplomatic, and socially conscious. They have an approachable, charming demeanor and are often concerned with how they’re perceived. First impressions are marked by elegance, grace, and a sense of refinement. They approach life through the lens of relationships and often take on the role of the mediator or aesthetic curator in new environments. They may have symmetrical features, a stylish appearance, and an innate ability to attract and relate to others harmoniously.
Scorpio Sun:
A Scorpio Sun identifies with depth, intensity, and transformation. These individuals have a magnetic presence and are often emotionally powerful, even if they keep their true feelings hidden. Their ego is tied to their ability to endure, transform, and maintain control over their emotional world. Scorpio Suns are passionate, loyal, and fiercely protective—but they may also be secretive or possessive. They have a strong drive for truth and emotional authenticity and often experience life as a series of emotional rebirths and psychological breakthroughs.
Scorpio Moon:
A Scorpio Moon feels everything intensely, but rarely shows the full depth of their emotions. They crave emotional intimacy and loyalty, yet often protect themselves with emotional walls and secrecy. Trust is essential—and once given, their devotion runs deep. These individuals can be prone to emotional extremes, holding onto pain or passion long after the moment has passed. There’s a need to feel emotionally powerful and in control, and they may become withdrawn or suspicious when vulnerable. Their emotional world is private, complex, and deeply intuitive.
Scorpio Rising:
Scorpio Rising individuals come across as intense, mysterious, and perceptive. They have a penetrating gaze and an aura of quiet power that often intrigues or intimidates others. Their approach to life is strategic and instinct-driven—they observe before engaging, and prefer to stay emotionally guarded until trust is established. First impressions may be marked by a sense of secrecy, confidence, or magnetism. Others often see them as serious, private, and psychologically sharp, with an ability to see through façades and superficiality.
Sagittarius Sun:
A Sagittarius Sun identifies with freedom, exploration, and truth-seeking. These individuals see themselves as adventurers—whether physically, mentally, or spiritually. Their ego is nourished by learning, expanding horizons, and living authentically. Sagittarius Suns are optimistic, enthusiastic, and often have a bold sense of humor. They can be blunt, freedom-loving, and allergic to constraints. At their best, they inspire others with their zest for life and philosophical insight; at their worst, they may struggle with commitment or tact.
Sagittarius Moon:
A Sagittarius Moon needs emotional freedom and stimulation. These individuals process emotions through a broad, philosophical lens, often preferring optimism and logic over emotional depth. They may downplay heavy feelings and seek escape through travel, humor, or learning. Their emotional security comes from feeling unrestrained and having the space to grow. While friendly and open, they may avoid emotional intimacy if it feels too confining. They thrive in relationships that allow for adventure, intellectual connection, and shared ideals.
Sagittarius Rising:
Sagittarius Rising individuals come across as enthusiastic, energetic, and open-minded. They have an adventurous spirit that radiates outward, often attracting others with their optimism and philosophical nature. First impressions are often marked by a sense of humor, spontaneity, and an eagerness to explore life’s big questions. Their approach to life is direct, bold, and future-oriented—they’re not afraid to take risks or break from the norm. Others often see them as inspiring, curious, and refreshingly honest.
Capricorn Sun:
A Capricorn Sun defines themselves through ambition, responsibility, and long-term achievement. These individuals take life seriously and often feel a strong sense of duty to build something meaningful—whether in their career, family, or reputation. Their ego is fueled by discipline and accomplishment, and they identify with being competent, respected, and self-sufficient. Capricorn Suns can be cautious and reserved, but underneath is a deeply driven and loyal spirit. They seek success not for vanity, but for stability and legacy.
Capricorn Moon:
A Capricorn Moon feels most secure when they’re in control of their emotions and environment. They may struggle to express vulnerability and instead focus on practicality, productivity, or long-term planning as a way to cope with feelings. This Moon placement often has a serious emotional nature and may carry the weight of responsibility from a young age. Emotional needs are met through structure, trust, and achievement. Though they may appear stoic, they feel deeply and show care through consistent, tangible support.
Capricorn Rising:
Capricorn Rising individuals come across as mature, composed, and goal-oriented. Others may see them as serious, responsible, or even intimidating at first glance. Their first instinct is to plan, assess risk, and take a measured approach to life. They tend to present themselves in a professional, classic, or understated way, often giving off an air of authority. Over time, people discover their dry humor and quiet loyalty, but they lead with ambition and reliability in any new setting.
Aquarius Sun:
An Aquarius Sun expresses identity through originality, innovation, and social ideals. These individuals value independence and often identify as unconventional or ahead of their time. They’re drawn to ideas, systems, and causes that benefit the collective, and their ego is nourished by being seen as unique or visionary. Aquarius Suns are often cool-headed, intellectually curious, and a bit rebellious. While they may seem emotionally detached, they’re deeply loyal to their principles and communities, valuing connection through shared ideals over emotional intimacy.
Aquarius Moon:
An Aquarius Moon processes emotions through logic and detachment, often analyzing rather than feeling them directly. These individuals need space and independence in emotional relationships and may resist clinginess or overly emotional displays. Their inner world is driven by ideas and ideals—they feel most at ease when aligned with a larger purpose or surrounded by stimulating conversation. Emotionally, they can be unpredictable, but they care deeply in a quiet, abstract way. They feel nurtured through friendship, innovation, and mental freedom.
Aquarius Rising:
Aquarius Rising people come across as quirky, cerebral, and one-of-a-kind. They often make a striking first impression through their style, ideas, or unpredictability. Their approach to life is future-focused and experimental—they challenge norms and seek truth through innovation or rebellion. They instinctively stand apart from the crowd and may appear emotionally cool or eccentric. Others see them as interesting, unconventional, and open-minded, though sometimes hard to fully pin down.
Pisces Sun:
A Pisces Sun identifies with compassion, creativity, and spiritual sensitivity. These individuals are deeply imaginative and empathetic, often blurring the lines between self and others. They may be drawn to art, music, mysticism, or helping professions, as their ego thrives on emotional connection and transcendence. Pisces Suns often have an elusive quality and may struggle with boundaries or staying grounded. Their identity is fluid and dreamy—they see life through an emotional and symbolic lens and seek to dissolve limitations of the material world.
Pisces Moon:
A Pisces Moon feels emotions on an almost psychic level. These individuals absorb the emotional energy of others and the environment, making them incredibly compassionate—but also vulnerable to emotional overwhelm. They are nurtured by beauty, spirituality, and imagination. Dreams, intuition, and artistic outlets often serve as emotional processing tools. This Moon placement may feel misunderstood or overly sensitive and benefits from solitude and creative expression. Their emotional world is fluid, poetic, and often beyond words.
Pisces Rising:
Pisces Rising individuals appear gentle, mystical, and dreamy. They often give off a soft, ethereal energy that makes others feel safe or intrigued. Their first instinct is to flow with life rather than resist it, and they often adapt to their surroundings like water. This can make them seem elusive or hard to define. Others may see them as intuitive, imaginative, and deeply empathetic. They may unconsciously mirror those around them, blending spiritual sensitivity with an almost chameleon-like presence.

𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 : 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐢 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐨 𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 1.7k of unedited alien prince shouto thoughts based on this post from the other day! sfw, gender neutral reader. several elements of this universe were borrowed from my fave sci-fi novel; see end notes for deets!
he's beautiful—the todoroki prince. tall and strong in his high-collared uniform, strapped with lean muscle and handsomely humanoid. he's the first thing that snares your gaze as your party is guided into the hall of the sun—the reception dome that overlooks the rise of the star yuuei in the morning sky, used by the ruling family to receive visiting dignitaries.
it is morning, in endeavorian planetary time, and the sun has begun to rise. its light is weaker than you remember from back home—almost watery, pooling like quicksilver in the panes of the dome's ceiling.
up at the front of the hall, it catches in the strands of the white half of the prince's hair. from what izuku has told you, it's the half that indicates he's part of the himura bloodline. the himura dynasty has ruled the yuuei system from its capital planet of endeavor iv for tens of thousands of earth-years. it's the second longest line of unbroken rulers in mapped galactic history, an impressive feat.
the other half of the prince's hair is a fiery red, like that of the man who stands next to him—todoroki enji, the general of intergalactic renown, who donated half of prince shouto's genome as well as his clan name. each time a himuran royal from the main line marries, izuku had explained, talking at lightspeed in the podship, they take a branch name, typically sourced from the primary gene-donator. it helps keep inheritance lines clear.
prince shouto looks like he's inherited empress rei and todoroki enji's genes in exactly half—his coloring split down the middle, though his features are perfectly, almost hauntingly symmetrical. he wears a pin of flint at his collar that symbolizes his gender—one of yuuei's thirteen official designations. from what you understand from izuku, it most closely aligns with earth designation "man".
it's embarrassing how much you notice about the prince as you file into the hall, stationing yourself right at the gap between izuku and tenya's shoulders, so you can still see todoroki shouto.
"you don't think they'll reject the treaty and kill us all, do you?" denki mumurs nervously as he presses in behind you.
"no, i don't think so," izuku's gentle voice drifts back to you. he's a three-star ethnologist, studying for a command ethnology post. subsequently he's the most informed of any of the cadets that have been sent along with the treatise party. you and denki are just mechanics, sent along in case anything goes wrong.
"the alliance would be too much trouble for the yuuei," izuku explains. "they have good relations with the surrounding galaxies and tight control over a lot of resources. but the alliance is really large now, compared to the last time they approached the yuuei. they'll likely want to accept at least a loose federation with the allies."
up on the platform at the front of the hall, prince shouto blinks long and slow, like an earth cat. you realize with a start it's the first time you've seen him blink at all, and the subtle reminder that he is not just an extraordinarily handsome human man but the prince of an alien species makes your skin prickle.
"don't you think it's weird they are all this pretty?" denki asks. "it's weird, right?"
"definitely weird," you laugh, your eyes trailing over prince shouto's blade-straight nose, his pert, perfect mouth. "possibly illegal under intergalatic law."
prince shouto stills all of a sudden, and there is the tiniest tilt of his head. two heterochromatic eyes flick over your way, and you are completely embarrassed by the way your stomach swoops in response. you just manage not to grab onto tenya's uniform to steady yourself.
one of the prince's eyebrow arches almost imperceptibly, and you wonder if he's heard you from this distance—but no, that would be insane.
denki picks up his commentary, emboldened by your playing along. you think the prince's eyes linger just a little too long on the gap between izuku and tenya's shoulders, but then you're distracted by the reception beginning.
the alliance treaty officer strides forward, flanked by a few of the other officials your crew had ferried here. she performs an elaborate bow, as do the other officials. from izuku's muttering you gather it's some sort of ritualistic greeting, and empress rei at least looks pleased with it, waving a gentle hand to gesture the party forward.
there is some shuffling as various aides set up a table and a series of holo-tablets, along with various inks, a leathery roll of endeavorian traditional parchment, and—
"is that a knife?" you ask, peering at the long obsidian blade placed on the table in front of the officials.
izuku's fluffy head of green curls inclines. "treaties are sealed twice. once in the alliance fashion and then again in the local custom, to make it binding per both systems. blood pacts have been used in yuuei for millennia."
the brush of something over your face has your gaze turning back to the prince—to find him staring straight at you, those unblinking eyes boring into you.
"izuku, weird question. can the yuuei hear across rooms?" you ask, suddenly self-conscious.
a green eye peers back at you. "only in the event of their pair bonds—the yuuei are documented hearing their matepair across approximately ten earth-kilometers. i think we're safe over here though. why?"
matepair. the world settles strangely under your skin, as the prince's eyes brush across it.
"uh, matepair?" you echo.
tenya gives both you and izuku a quelling look, but it's not enough to deter izuku from ducking down to explain in slightly quieter tones. "the yuuei look human but they pair differently. they form a parapsychic bond with only a single partner, which they maintain and uphold for life. it's not just cultural—it's like a physical compulsion. they cannot take another pair, and they cannot be separated for long periods or they grow sick."
prince shouto is still staring straight at you, and it's not quite comforting enough to know that he cannot possibly hear you.
it's only his role in the ceremony that seems to eventually break the prince's weird focus in your direction. he steps forward to perform his duty as empress rei's chosen heir. you almost flinch as the knife draws across the pale skin of his palm, and he adds several drips of silvery blood to the parchment, symbolizing yuuei's intent to uphold the treaty across future monarchs.
the flesh of his palm knits itself back together in seconds, and another little shiver goes up your spine. those mismatched eyes flash back your way as he steps back, and the various aides and officials once again converge on the documents.
there is a brief flurry of activity, various bows and oaths, some stilted endeavorian verse. the chief treaty officer looks relieved when it's all over, and the royal family steps down from the dais to greet the rest of the visiting party, as is the customary honor granted to allies to the yuuei. tenya ushers you into the queue near the back with denki, a symbol of your lower status as mechanics.
you don't mind, as the thought of reaching prince shouto has your stomach doing what feel like backflips in your gut. the longer the delay the better.
izuku had walked everyone through the appropriate greetings on the podship, a few murmured words and a hand touch at chest-level—extremely hard to mess up, even for you. but nevertheless your pulse kicks up the closer you draw to the royal family.
there's a long line of them you greet first. offshoot branch members, then general todoroki enji, whose enormous palm burns hot against yours and who looks he'd rather take your party's hands off than touch them. then rei's unchosen heirs—the princess fuyumi, prince natsuo—and a gap where prince touya would have stood, were he not offworld.
and then you're standing in front of prince shouto, your pulse pounding in your ears. he's extremely tall up close, clearing six feet easily, broad across the shoulders and handsome in a way that almost makes your teeth ache. the yuuei look deceptively human, but this near you can see the tiny details that separate them from you—the slight double-point to their ears, the silvery undertone to their skin, the prolonged space between their breaths and their blinks.
and of course their inhuman beauty. they don't quite look like regular people, and it sparks a tiny note of wariness in the primeval part of your human hindbrain.
prince shouto's mismatched eyes pin you, silver and blue, as a sudden, silvery flush creeps across his face. you hold your hand out in greeting, trying not to wonder if you've somehow managed to offend him already—but instead of pressing his palm against yours, his long fingers suddenly grasp yours, clasping tightly.
beyond him, empress rei freezes too. all at once you can feel every single himuran noble turn to look at you, hundreds of eyes pinning on you.
reflexively, words tumble out of you. "shit did i—what did i do? were you supposed to get a different hand thingy?"
you can hear the treaty officer's horrified inhale at the terms shit and hand thingy, deployed in crass galactic standard in front of a literal prince. you immediately wish you could take them back, but from the look on the prince's face, he's already heard them.
something at the corner of his mouth twitches, like he's trying not to smile.
"y/n," he says, in a deep tone. it's crisply accented and just as beautiful as the rest of him.
it takes you a second to realize prince shouto has used your name, which he could not possibly know considering the uniform you'd been issued for the yuuei visit has no unique identifiers on it. you glance down at yourself, then back up at him, befuddled.
"how did you—? where did you—?" you garble out. "did denki put you up to this? how do you know me?"
prince shouto's fingers smooth over yours, delightfully warm, calloused and sure. "i would know you in any universe," he says, voice soft. behind you, you hear princess fuyumi make a tiny sound of delight.
you blink. "universe? what—uh, what universe? how would you—?"
but shouto leans in, tugging you closer with those deceptively strong fingers. he's so very warm up close, and so beautiful it makes your brain short circuit, especially as he lowers his face to yours. a shiver rolls down your spine as his other hand takes you gently by the chin.
and then he murmurs a single word before pressing his mouth to yours—
"matepair."

Putting aside our personal preferences and what we ship, do you think in-universe Jason is written to be considered more handsome than Percy?
Ugh, I miss getting questions like this (and the height one) because I LOVE to analyze. So thank you. Also, I love both Jason and Percy. I dedicate my blog to Percy, but I adore my cute little blonde Superman too, so I feel like I’m not too biased.
But to answer your question, I just think it’s completely subjective. I mean, they’re both consistently described as handsome. More people comment on Jason’s attractiveness, but more people actually fall for Percy. I do think Jason is written to be the more “conventionally” attractive of the two, but what does that even mean?
They’re both tall. They both have beautiful eyes.
Percy is leaner, has a darker mediterranean complexion (often described with a slight tan or sea-weathered look), messy black hair that never seems to stay in place, and a sort of “troublemaker” aesthetic. His features aren’t clean-cut, but they’re striking—especially his sea-green eyes. There’s something a little rougher and more lived-in about his appearance. As Piper said, he’s attractive in a more “scruffy” way, which she herself isn't into. He’s got more of that disheveled-troubled-New-Yorker look going on hahaha. I think Apollo says it best: “As usual, I was struck by his resemblance to his father, Poseidon. He had the same sea-green eyes, the same dark tousled hair, the same handsome features that could shift from humor to anger so easily” (The Hidden Oracle).
Jason, by contrast, is a bit sturdier—broader shoulders, more solid build. He has a fair/light complexion, short-cropped blonde hair, and bright sky-blue eyes. His facial features are softer and more symmetrical—chiseled in that way that feels like he stepped out of a military poster or a historical sculpture. He’s very “put together” visually. Annabeth isn’t attracted to Jason because she says Jason looks “too perfect.” Which I can actually relate to because do you guys ever see those men who you know are objectively perfect looking but they almost look artificial and it’s offputting? That’s how Jason is kinda described. His face has a ‘Ken doll effect.’
In the books, Jason is compared to a Roman statue—a nod to his flawless, sculpted, almost too perfect appearance. Percy, on the other hand, is compared to a Roman god—striking, powerful, but with a more dangerous, lived-in kind of beauty. One looks polished, the other looks untamed.
So… I just think it completely depends on what you like. Jason is attractive in a conventional, heroic good-boy way. Percy is attractive in a disheveled, kinda dangerous bad-boy way. Pick your poison.
I also think personality plays a huge role in how they are perceived, because they are complete contrasts of each other in many ways. But I focused on the purely physical aspects here.
#im going back to my roots guys#should I start preparing for the ‘when did percabeth do it’ questions again?#only the OGs understand that#LOL#percy jackson#jason grace#pjo#hoo#answered ask

On the caption on one of your beautiful pieces, you mention davesprite and nepeta having symmetrical traumas 👁👁👁 please enlighten me (if you wish)
nepeta suffers a very feminine loneliness, with a fixation on romance and an unrequited crush. she emulates the role of the selfless and giving love interest, but she knows that she has no actual chance of becoming this person.
davesprite is the same, of course, with the hero role. he's constantly emasculated by the narrative, and indirectly warring with his "better" self, whom his friends clearly prefer over him. his loneliness is based on jealousy and frustration in powerlessness, while nepeta's is a more wistful, passive yearning.
both try and fail to emulate feminine and masculine story roles respectively, and are able to access the opposite images in a more wholesome way when they become each other.
i tend to compare them through this story trope angle and how it relates to gender, but their actual upbringings are worth considering too 🤔 toxic masculinity was imposed onto dave by his abusive guardian, whereas nepeta was taught tenderness and affection by her lusus. but at the same time, her isolated living and the fact that she had to hunt for food with her bare hands is also pretty hardcore. in a way, traversing the wild and battling massive carnivorous alien beasts for her own survival could probably be considered her own kind of "training." that's why i draw her with lots of scars and stuff (though they're not visible in most of my uploaded art because she's heavily clothed lol). my davepeta design inherits physical scars from both of their components

Perfectly symmetrical- Keegan P. Russ

Based on a request: Hiiii :D Idk if u do requests or whatever but can I please ask for Keegan comforting OCD reader? Preferably OCD related to needing things to be symmetrical? Also please tag me when it's out OK byeeeeeee :D ---- GN!Reader, fluff?, comfort, established!relationship ---- A/N: this is a really old request I just found...I also will only tag the person who request it because I dont know if anyone on my tag list wants to also read about ocd reader (I've been scolded once or twice by you<3)
The room was quiet except for the faint hum of the heater in the corner. Keegan sat on the edge of the couch, elbows resting on his knees, his sharp gaze flicking between you and the coffee table. Your breathing was uneven, and your hands trembled as you adjusted the objects in front of you.
You shifted the coasters—two on the left, two on the right—aligning them meticulously. The edges still didn’t look right, gnawed at you like an itch you couldn’t reach. You frowned, pulling them a fraction closer to the centre of the table, trying to match their placement to the imaginary grid in your mind.
“It’s off,” you murmured, more to yourself than anyone else.
“Looks fine to me,” Keegan said softly, but his voice carried no judgment. His tone was low, reassuring, like a ripple over still water.
“It’s not fine.” Your voice cracked, and you quickly set the coasters down, clenching your hands in frustration. “It’s wrong. It doesn’t feel… even. It’s all wrong.”
Keegan shifted, leaning back onto the couch. “Alright,” he said, stretching out a gloved hand. “Show me what you’re seeing. Maybe I can help.”
Your gaze flicked to him, your stomach twisting. “You’ll think it’s stupid.”
Keegan tilted his head, his dark eyes narrowing slightly, but not in anger. “I wouldn’t be here if I thought that.”
His simple honesty made your chest ache. Taking a shaky breath, you pointed to the coffee table. “The left side looks heavier than the right. The coasters need to be perfectly symmetrical, or it… I don’t know, it just feels wrong. It’s like… like something bad will happen if it’s not fixed.”
Keegan nodded, his expression serious. “Alright. Let’s fix it, then.”
You blinked. “You don’t have to—”
“I want to,” he interrupted firmly. “You think I’m going to leave you to fight this alone?”
His words grounded you more than you expected. Together, the two of you adjusted the coasters. Keegan moved slowly and carefully, asking for your input each time he adjusted. When he saw the tension in your shoulders ease, he stopped.
“How’s that?” he asked, looking up at you.
You tilted your head, inspecting the layout. The relief hit you in waves, like a burden lifting from your chest. “It’s… perfect.”
Keegan leaned back, watching you with a small, satisfied smile. “Told you we’d get there.”
You sank onto the couch beside him, your hands finally still. Keegan reached out, tugging the blanket from the back of the couch and draping it over your legs.
“You don’t have to say anything,” he said, his voice low and soothing. “Just breathe. I’ve got you.”
And for the first time that day, you did.

Cabin In The Woods (Alexia Putellas X Reader)
Okay I think a cabin in the woods sounds dreamy. Day 8!
It had been your idea to start to get away just the two of you just before Christmas. You originally thought about just going to another city or maybe France but when you told alexia about your thoughts she took the trip to a whole different level. You were on a flight to Norway and would then be driving into the mountains a little to stay in a cabin in the woods. Something you have to admit sounded wonderful but a lot more elaborate than you thought you were going to do.
The car journey was an interesting one, the winding snowy roads made the journey a little scary, but it also meant you and Alexia were on alert and high spirits the whole way. The air became crisper as you climbed the mountains, which had you rolling down your passenger window every couple of minutes to take it in. by the time you reached the cabin, the snow was fulling in delicate flurries around you.
Alexi pulled the car into the little covered spot, cutting the engine as you both took a moment to study the place you would be staying in for the long weekend. Alexia glanced around the outside before she let out a sigh and spoke, “Finally, no one around but us. I love our life but sometimes I just need some space you know.” You hummed in agreement, the crowds and cameras that came with your profession were a constant, so this felt like a dream. The only sound you could hear was Alexias’s breathing and the soft falling snow.
The cabin was perfect, straight out of a holiday postcard. It was small but cozy, with a stone chimney, snow-dusted evergreens surrounding it, and a warm glow emanating from within. The peacefulness of the mountains settled over you as you unpacked the boot of the car, each of you carrying your bag through the little wooden doorway and into the warmth of the cabin.
Inside, it was even cozier. The main room was centred around a crackling fireplace, with a plush couch and soft blankets draped over it, and just enough space for a small Christmas tree by the window. You breathed in the scent of pine and wood smoke, feeling instantly at home. Alexia wandered around, inspecting the place with a look of pure delight.
“It’s perfect, isn’t it?” The grin on her face as she spoke was all the perfect you needed, but you nodded in agreement anyway. She reached her hand out for you and pulled you into her when you took it. You melted into her warmth, feeling all the stress from the season so far and the busy city life fade away.
Once you had both explored the cabin and set your stuff up in the bedroom, Alexia told you to wait on the sofa as she went into a little cupboard you hadn’t noticed before. She pulled out a box that you could see had something Santa related peeking out the top. “I asked the owner to grab a few Christmas bits so we could decorate it a little.” She placed the box on the sofa next to you and started to pull out the contents.
There were some fairy lights, some extra ornaments, garland and a shiny star that must be for the tree. The two of you got to work, you started by stringing the lights around the front room of the cabin, laughing together when you had to go back and adjust a few fixings because they were really not symmetrical. Every so often you caught Alexia staring at you, her face set with that far away dreamy look and when you asked, she would just say nothing and continue on. Really, Alexia just couldn’t quite believe her luck. She was miles away from the crowds, with the woman she loved, and it was just perfect.
“This is the best idea you’ve ever had,” you told her, finally extricating yourself from the lights and stepping back to admire your handiwork.
She laughed, brushing a few pine needles off her sweater. “I think we needed it. A little holiday break.”
Once all the lights were strung and the garland was hung over the fireplace and the doorways, you turned off the room light and admired the soft glow that covered the room. Alexia pulled out her phone, turning on a Christmas playlist. The first few notes of “Feliz Navidad” filled the cabin, and you both shared a laugh before she took your hand, pulling you into an impromptu dance around the room.
The evening passed in a blissful daze from then. You’d stopped at a shop on the way up to by all you needed for the weekend, including for baking. So, when the night sky turned black, and the only part of the snowy outside you could see was the bits that caught the glow of the lights through the windows, you and Alexia moved into the small kitchen to make some cookies.
You both tied your hair back and grabbed aprons before you got a recipe up on your phone and Alexia got the ingredients out and on the worktop. “Alright, chef,” she said, nudging you with her elbow. “Let’s see what we’ve got.”
You both fell into an easy rhythm, your laughter filling the cabin as you mixed the dough and tried not to spill loads of flour on the worktops. Every so often, Alexia would sneak a bit of cookie dough from the bowl, pretending she wasn’t doing anything until you caught her with a knowing look. She just grinned, a mischievous glint in her eye, and offered you a taste with a wink.
The cookies came out golden brown, filling the cabin with a warm, buttery aroma that had your mouth watering. Alexia grabbed one as soon as they were cool enough to touch, blowing on it before taking a bite. Her eyes widened, and she nodded approvingly.
“These are good!” she said, holding one out for you. “Try it.”
The cookie melted in your mouth, and you couldn’t help the small noise that left your lips upon tasting it. Alexia pulled you closer at that, pressing her lips to yours in a slow kiss. As she pulled away you caught the glint of mischief in her eyes. “Sorry, I just needed to taste it some more.” You rolled your eyes at the woman and held the half-eaten cookie in your hands to her lips. After a moment or five in the kitchen eating a cookie or three, you and Alexia cleaned up together. You set the rest of the cookies off to the side for tomorrow.
Cleaning took you both longer than expected because you would pause for some dancing to a good Christmas song or for a quick kiss that normally led to you finding your favourite spot nuzzled into her shoulder. By the time you were finished the night was well and truly upon you.
You both drifted to the sofa, Alexia sat first and pulled you back into her open legs. You settled into her and grabbed one of the blankets off the back of the sofa, draping it across the both of you. You left the music playing softly in the back as you both gazed at the flames flickering in the fireplace, Alexia’s arm pulling you impossibly closer as you settled into her more and more.
“I wish every day could be like this,” she murmured, her voice low and content.
You looked up at her, catching the soft look in her eyes, her expression calm and relaxed in the golden light. “Maybe one day it can be,” you replied. “For now, though… I’m just happy we have this.”
She smiled, reaching down to brush a strand of hair from your face, her thumb gently tracing your cheekbone. “Me too,” she said softly, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead, her lips lingering there for a few beats before she pulled back.
You rested your head against her shoulder, letting the warmth of the fire and her steady heartbeat lull you into a peaceful quiet. Outside, the snow continued to fall, blanketing the world in a stillness that matched the tranquillity in the cabin.
After a while, Alexia shifted, reaching for something tucked between the cushions. She pulled out a small, wrapped box, placing it in your hands with a smile that was both shy and eager. “I know it’s not Christmas yet,” she said, “but I wanted to give you this and I think this is that perfect time.”
You unwrapped it carefully, your heart swelling as you found a small silver bracelet nestled inside. The charm dangling from it was a tiny soccer ball, engraved with both of your initials. You looked up, feeling a lump in your throat.
“I wanted you to have something… something to remind you of us, no matter where we are,” she explained, her eyes searching yours for a reaction.
“It’s perfect, Alexia,” you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. “Thank you.”
You leaned in, kissing her softly, hoping she could feel everything you couldn’t quite put into words. The night stretched on, peaceful and warm, as you held each other by the fire, your hearts full of gratitude for this rare, perfect moment.

"Pandora, Worrying About What She Is Doing, Finds a Way into the Valley through the Scrub Oak," from Always Coming Home by Ursula K. Le Guin
Look how messy this wilderness is. Look at this scrub oak, chaparro, the chaparral was named for it and consists of it mixed up with a lot of other things, but look at this shrub of it right here now. The tallest limb or stem is about four feet tall, but most of the stems are only a foot or two. One of them looks as if it had been cut off with a tool, a clean slice across, but who? what for? This shrub isn’t good for anything and this ridge isn’t on the way to anywhere. A lot of smaller branch-ends look broken or bitten off. Maybe deer browse the leafbuds. The little grey branches and twigs grow every which way, many dead and lichened, crossing each other, choking each other out. Digger-pine needles, spiders’ threads, dead bay leaves are stuck in the branches. It’s a mess. It’s littered. It has no overall shape. Most of the stems come up from one area, but not all; there’s no center and no symmetry. A lot of sticks sticking up out of the ground a little ways with leaves on some of them—that describes it fairly well. The leaves themselves show some order, they seem to obey some laws, poorly. They are all different sizes from about a quarter of an inch to an inch long, but each is enough like the others that one could generalise an ideal scrub-oak leaf: a dusty, medium dark-green color, with a slight convex curve to the leaf, which pillows up a bit between the veins that run slanting outward from the central vein; and the edge is irregularly serrated, with a little spine at each apex. These leaves grow irregularly spaced on alternate sides of their twig up to the top, where they crowd into a bunch, a sloppy rosette. Under the litter of dead leaves, its own and others’, and moss and rocks and mold and junk, the shrub must have a more or less shrub-shaped complex of roots, going fairly deep, probably deeper than it stands aboveground, because wet as it is here now in February, it will be bone dry on this ridge in summer.
There are no acorns left from last fall, if this shrub is old enough to have borne them. It probably is. It could be two years old or twenty or who knows? It is an oak, but a scrub oak, a low oak, a no-account oak, and there are at least a hundred very much like it in sight from this rock I am sitting on, and there are hundreds and thousands and hundreds of thousands more on this ridge and the next ridge, but numbers are wrong. They are in error. You don’t count scrub oaks. When you can count them, something has gone wrong. You can count how many in a hundred square yards and multiply, if you’re a botanist, and so make a good estimate, a fair guess, but you cannot count the scrub oaks on this ridge, let alone the ceanothus, buckbrush, or wild lilac, which I have not mentioned, and the other variously messy and humble components of the chaparral. The chaparral is like atoms and the components of atoms: it evades. It is innumerable. It is not accidentally but essentially messy. This shrub is not beautiful, nor even if I were ten feet high on hashish would it be mystical, nor is it nauseating; if a philosopher found it so, that would be his problem, but nothing to do with the scrub oak. This thing is nothing to do with us. This thing is wilderness. The civilized human mind’s relation to it is imprecise, fortuitous, and full of risk. There are no shortcuts. All the analogies run one direction, our direction. There is a hideous little tumor in one branch. The new leaves, this year’s growth, are so large and symmetrical compared with the older leaves that I took them at first for part of another plant, a toyon growing in with the dwarf oak, but a summer’s dry heat no doubt will shrink them down and warp them. Analogies are easy; the live oak, the humble evergreen, can certainly be made into a sermon, just as it can be made into firewood. Read or burnt. Sermo, I read; I read scrub oak. But I don’t, and it isn’t here to be read, or burnt. It is casting a shadow across the page of this notebook in the weak sunshine of three-thirty of a February afternoon in Northern California. When I close the book and go, the shadow will not be on the page, though I have drawn a line around it; only the pencil line will be on the page. The shadow will be then on the dead-leaf-thick messy ground or on the mossy rock my ass is on now, and the shadow will move lawfully and with great majesty as the earth turns.
The mind can imagine that shadow of a few leaves falling in the wilderness; the mind is a wonderful thing. But what about all the shadows of all the other leaves on all the other branches on all the other scrub oaks on all the other ridges of all the wilderness? If you could imagine those for even a moment, what good would it do? Infinite good.

Another question on how to draw Night furies...
This ones a bit subtle i guess? But how do you come up with patterns? Like Toothless in movie 1? I've been particularly obsessed with Prospers (bby girl <3) and her fantastic coloration. (I love that grey. Sorta a Juniper grey. Considered it as the paint color for my room once!)
First off thank you so much!!! Prosper my beloved <333
I’d recommend starting off by looking at the patterns of real animals. I find cats to be a good reference. I took some inspiration from colourpoint-cats for Prosper’s design!! As her face, lower legs, wing and fins are all darker than the rest of her body.
I’d also HIGHLY recommend some good ol’ consistency. It can make or break a design. For example,
If you put a pattern on the top of the wings, including that pattern on the secondary wings and the tail fins creates a much more cohesive and interesting design. Now whilst the one on the right isn’t inherently bad, it could definitely be better by keeping design features consistent.
This applies to any part of the body with relation to one another!! Making the underbelly and the underside of the wings/fins the same colour keeps the design unified. Making the legs the same colour/pattern keeps the design unified. Having the same undertones throughout the pattern keeps it unified. Aim for relative symmetry. Doesn’t have to be perfect, but generally within nature, animals will look the same no matter if you look at them from the left or the right.
Now obviously that is not a definite rule. You under no circumstances have to keep your design symmetrical! But if your design is going to have inconsistencies throughout it, then make them intentional.
Now this could be something small or something big! Maybe your design is mostly symmetrical, the only thing being different is that they have a white patch around their left eye. Boom. That is a defining, intentional feature. You didn’t accidentally make that left eye white; it was a conscious decision and is an identifiable attribute. Or maybe, in Prosper’s case, they’re missing their whole ass right wing. That was VERY intentional. And whilst it is a design inconsistency, since she isn’t symmetrical, her design in still unified, because I included details such as more scarring and wounds, predominantly on her right side. - And whilst her missing a wing isn’t related to her patterns or colours, it is still a design feature, and something to be considered!!
Do not take any of this as rules that you must follow to make a good design. There are so many different aspects that go into making patterns that it’s hard to narrow it down into a few simple steps. Do some experimenting!! Try symmetry, try a complete and utter lack of symmetry!! Come up with specific design ideas to base the dragon around. Maybe your night fury has a jet black body with one singular, jittery, random white line that strikes down its back. Maybe your night fury’s pattern is so symmetrical that it puts the symmetry tool out of business. There are so many possibilities for colouration and patterns that dr strange would be pressed to count them.
