One of my favorite interpretations of shared-pain soulmate dynamics is the idea that they then also share period cramps.
Ranchers in Double Life, trans!Tango, his period rolls around. Terrible timing as is, it’s hard to deal with during a death game, but he makes it work. Then one day, he finds Jimmy leaning against their fence, one hand clutching his abdomen. Tango immediately ran up to him asking what was wrong.
“My stomach hurts so bad, I don’t know why.”
Tango froze for a moment, registering what must be happening.
“Ah. That one’s my fault.”
Jimmy looked at him confused before he continued, “I’m on my period.”
Cue Jimmy’s shock and outrage that ‘you experience this every month!?!!’ and Tangos response of ‘Pretty much.’
Yeah, they have some things to talk about. And Jimmy desperately needs advice on pain management
The 'monthly death time' club has some extra members that season. Tango is probably the most sympathetic. Cleo and Pearl are trying... When they stop laughing.

I already talked about this in my video but this has still been on my mind so I’m just gonna say it with a bit more detail, I really don’t think the 6 month gap really hinders much in terms of ✨content✨ or fandom. Speaking from a perspective that values Arknight’s lore, something happening in CN has never stopped anyone in the EN community from discussing about it and reacting to it. Genuinely, there is not like, a puritanical level of anti-spoiler etiquette (ofc still tag spoilers, cus it’s polite) that we’re not allowed to discuss the happenings of CN. Sure some people are avoiding the content until it reaches global, but how is that any different than a player avoiding certain spoilers because they haven’t reached a certain point in the story.
Also, translations are a thing so we’re not going to be completely clueless on CN content. In fact, fan translations are a huge factor in community interactions and we should encourage that more.
The 6 month gap is very consumer friendly I hope I don’t need to explain how knowing about content in advance in a gacha game is consumer friendly, this is also why global isn’t as profitable as CN btw since we aren’t as affected by immediate FOMO that gacha preys on. If you can already see how a unit will play from CN creators sharing it you’re going to make a more informed decision on pulling for them or not.
Frankly, I value that way more than some youtubers being upset that they can’t capitalise on the fandom more because global is able to assess the content beforehand and a second reaction isn’t generating more views for AK content creators. Especially more than the people that just want the servers to be sync because… I don’t know, they can’t handle that the Arknights community is a bit more quiet or are missing out on community interactions that are already happening.

Daima is giving me the thing I love most about Vegebul in Super’s manga and it’s just that good good little Quiet/Casual Comfort between an established couple who also happen to be best friends and it’s my favorite

seems like you all enjoy my rambles! great. anyways it kinda sucks how few deaths in avos and tbc felt narratively satisfying. i think it's kind of a given that deaths will seem less cool when they are given to long-running characters without much room for buildup of their death, or nothing background characters being killed off-screen to reduce numbers rather than being written specifically to die like they were in the first arc etc but stilllll

I really hate this format for buyback competitions! If you know ANYTHING about competition reality, you know that fans do not take kindly to an eliminated contestant sitting out most of the competition then coming in basically in the final round and winning (*cough* chris underwood *cough*)! What they should have done is have an episode, right after the final bracket had competed, where all the 9 losers compete in a wildcard Competition to get back, with the 2 that win the episode getting back into the main competition. I would make it an obstacle race style episode, where the first third of the episode is an acting/comedy challenge where 3 people get eliminated (comedy challenges are the hardest so as long as you don’t fall flat on your face you could squeeze through), then the next third a design challenge where 3 people get eliminated there again, and then the final challenge to determine the 2 going through would be either a solo verse/performance challenge, or they could even just make it a 3 way lipsync to make things easier! If we need to account for episodes, the first 2 ‘merge’ episodes (all the bracket winners + the 2 wild cards) could be double eliminations! This format is alot better because the losers get a fair way to get back into the competition, but also one that won’t cheapen their win if they do infact get back in the competition and go on to win the crown!
