Quadrobics OR Screens?

Something I have been thinking about on my own, is how aggressive folks tend to be towards the younger generations. They're always doing something wrong it seems.

Since the boom of technology, everyone complains that kids are only ever on screens these days. Which does have its truth. But we are IN the age of tech. Its everywhere. Its to be expected. Although I do understand that it does pose many issues. BUT I WONT GET INTO THAT. Thats not the point of this post.

Right now this community keeps shaming children for doing quadrobics. And while I had my reservations about it.. i got to thinking... you know what? These kids in masks are actively GOING OUTSIDE. They are tumbling and jumping and running around. Touching grass, touching water, touching trees. Theyre connecting to nature.

Sure they're doing it in an admittedly embarrassing way, but all kids have been cringey. Hell knows I was xD

To be honest, its nice to see kids connect with nature. It might be a phase for most of them, and evidently there are some things that can be a problem. Like exposing themselves to the dangerous world that is the internet. But really, theyre doing what everyone keeps yelling at them to do. Touch grass. Which isnt the case for a lot of kids.

So if you were to ask me, would i rather my kids be glued to a screen like a zombie, or exploring whats left of nature outside with a mask and tail... id rather the little critter be outside enjoying the sun and rain.

At least monitoring and educating the kids can help avoid the internet issue with posting quad videos. Otherwise, there isnt much wrong.

Injuries are inevitable with quads or any other child activities.

Cant really think of much else that is a risk.

These are just my thoughts. And theyve helped me open up to it a bit. Im still vaguely annoyed by quad videos taking over the therian hashtags. But i prefer THAT over "kink posts" in the hastag lol

HEY YOU Hit me with some Julie Su propoganda cuz I'm mostly lukewarm on her character and don't know all that much about her.

OK OK ... well baseline info she's the daughter of dark legion general luger, and half sister of lien-da and kragok, who are twins and both high ranking legion soldiers. when their mother (merin-da) died and luger remarried, ld and kragok hated his new wife (julie-su's mother) (mari-su) so bad they orchestrated her death, info which was they kept on the DL for a long time until js eventually found out about it. memory situation, js is raised by other folks who actually love her and doesn't learn who her blood family is until later. she joins knuckles because she feels inexplicably drawn to him (soul touch) (echidna soulmates) so she defects from the legion to join the chaotix. the soul touch thing sucks and i hate it but this is how it goes. ill talk about my au version of her at the end lol bc things ive built on top of canon are part of the reason why shes one of my fave charas in the series lul

ANYWHO i honestly find it pretty frustrating when people talk about js as just being pink knuckles, shoehorned into the story to give knuckles an obligatory girlfriend, because it really demonstrates that they like. weren't paying a lick of attention to anything because she genuinely has a LOT of personality but since people just go in anticipating anything penders touched to suck they don't even bother to think about her for longer than half a second.

js fills a niche that, imo, could always use filling, especially with regards to girl characters, which is to say shes a well meaning asshole. shes incredibly blunt, she's pessimistic (immediately assumes knuckles must be dead when enerjak returns and they cant find him, tells knuckles not to search a fallen ship that his mother was on because shes probably dead and she doesnt think he'd want to see that). shes terrible at handling interpersonal conflict (knuckles confesses to her that he feels guilty and stressed over all the pressure put on him as guardian and she scolds him and says "this isn't just about you", which results in a minor shouting match when she really had zero intention of starting an argument), she's almost constantly beefing with vector (tbf its because hes sexist he refuses to see past her history as a member of the dark legion). these might suond like cons but i love characters like this LOL and they fit especially well in archie where people love to get mad at each other and make dumb mistakes and it just feels very genuine and interesting and endearing to me. shes rough and difficult but she's also DEEPLY loyal. she'd die for knuckles and the chaotix and the way she interacts with them always makes me soooo ........ im just gonna give some examples i can find.

^ this was the genuine conclusion of an argument they had and im obsessed with it because both of them suck with emotions so they both give the worlds strangest apology and know that the other means it and they move on. plus putting her arm in front of SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG while theyre confronting eggman even after watching him CHAOS BLAST, primarily because she feels like this is more her fight than his (its about knuckles).

theres def more and i could find them if i was more on top of archie but unfortunately im #narutopilled rn. BUT ANYWAYS. shes just a very fun character with a messy personality and fun interactions and she loves her buddies sm even tho she bickers with them. shes just very special. she fits well with knuckles in a way that makes their relationship actually feel plausible instead of just forcing him to have a girlfriend (tho ofc the writing is fumbled sometimes like. ITS ARCHIE. bffr. but thats the case with literally everything ever in archie so you take what you can and its amazing). also see below. BASED AS FUCKKKKKKK

and ill discuss my au briefly bc u r asking me my opinion on js and that does play a large role in how i feel abt her, but rly im just expanding on elements of her story that werent discussed as fully as i wouldve liked. her relationship with lien-da is obviously BAD in canon, but theres not a lot of time spent lingering on precisely how lien-da and kragok feel about julie-su as the product of their fathers second marriage to a woman they KILLED because they hated her so much. ive also given her much more internal strife over turning away from the legion, originally joining the chaotix planning to betray them from the inside then being slowly convinced to join them for real after realizing how much she'd been brainwashed by the legion and what its like to have people who truly love and care about you. her story as someone who is trying to find herself outside of her history as a child soldier is something that TOTALLY deserves to be expanded on and its a bit sad that it wasnt explored. but i mean really im not changing her actual PERSONALITY at all because as i discussed shes oozing with it.... im honestly never going to make the full comic i wanted to so at some point im just going to compile all the lore and concept art and stuff into one big post to share. but thats like a spoiler free taste.

she also has a gun. which is fucking awesome because not enough sonic characters have guns. people make shadow the guy with a gun but he hasnt been seen with one since shth. hello....

fr thats why i have mixed feelings on kpop even after being a fan of a few groups and as much as we are being forced to hear about kpop groups everywhere, like we cant escapr their constant promotions they arent helping western artists if anything theyre trying to overule america. do u think itll ever calm down? i mean the groups are literally everywhere. on every brwnd name there is and most normal folk like myself cant usually afford to constantly buy expensive merch nor tour the country just to watch new groups do the same thing as other groups.

if kpop was less about quantity i think it would intruige me more to get back into it but its become overboard in recent years and prices are going up on almost everything. so if i were to even go and see one group lets say ateez in london, it would probs cost me 300-400 maybe more quid as a whole trip. when you add ticket, hotels, merch, lightsticks, those round picture banner things, hotels, train or plane tickets. music is becoming less accessible by the days. i do feel bad for new groups cause bts and blackpink hoarded the spotlight for yonks now other groups are coming abroad and its sometimes hit or miss if i like their songs. for example i prefer ateez to skz music but i still wouldnt justify investing so much to go and see them if their only venue is maybe wembley and or glasgow or wherever they tour.

i feel like groups are so detached or almost out of touch with themselves and what they expect from their fans and listeners or even general music groups. didnt surprise me that ateez were chosen for coachella, blackpink had already done it for gg's that didnt surprise me either. but how is people who have their own lifestyle to afford going to afford kpop investment? we all know the shitty seats are the cheapest but its still a no from me. sighhhh entertainment generally shouldnt be this difficult. i have similar issued with football and frankly its eventually off putting like i want to like something, do i like it? for a while then comes the huge costs it takes to really be into the groups or clubs or other forms of entertainment.

fun fact: despite the name, camel crickets arent actually crickets! theyre related, but camel crickets are in the family Rhaphidophoridae, whereas "true" crickets are in the family "Gryllidae." i believe theyre actually more closely related to katydids, funny enough?

they actually dont chirp; not only are they wingless and thus unable to produce the sound, it would serve them no purpose, because theyre totally deaf! a true crickets tympanum -the organ they hear with- is located in their front legs, but on camel crickets the tympanum is entirely absent! their vision is also VERY poor; they mostly distinguish light things from dark things. instead, they mostly rely on touch to sense the world around them, making those ridiculous looking extra long antennae super important. theyre also very sensitive to vibrations and air currents, which is why they react to the "sound" of our footstep!

and YEAH their jump is IMPRESSIVE, isnt it? they can jump about 3 feet high!

idk i think the way mlp writes more mature stories is really interesting because theyre never like. they never go over a deepend that like, dark sad mlp fanfiction does where everyone is out of character and the mood is sooooo out of touch for mlp it feels like someones hbo pilot with mlp characters, 

mlp just knows how to skirt around the explicitly dark shit which...actually kinda makes things more sad? theres a whole episode finally answering the question of “wait wheres applejacks parents” and instead of answering how/if theyre dead, its instead about the rift between their families and their true love, and they never explicitly say theyre dead. once, they never even say like “but theyre gone now” or in pony heaven whatever, its just all in the writing and some stellar fucking voice acting in this episode? i get genuinely miserable abt hearing big macs one Line of the episode being about wanting to hear more stories abt his folks from burnt oak and the dudes just Crying smiling when he says Ahd like that (AHGFDSGFDSHFDSKFDASF ARHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

but its still a my little pony episode, it still feels like everyone who talks abt ajs parents are talking from a place of love, both for pear butter and bright mac as their friends and as a sign of respect and care for the love the two of them crafted since they were INFANTS. in one episode you care so much abt the two of them not because they died, but because they lived, you watch them grow up together and know they want to live together forever and build a family and even though that familys growing up without them and i think thats personally. a lot more powerful then like . an overly violent or tragic announcement that two ponies wre just. i hate reading a fic and seeing the comments and one of them is like “hey this piece of work is shit cos u represented this asexual character wrong >:(“ when the work represented the asexual character PERFECTLY FINE but theyre not sex repulsed.

the character could be shown making sex jokes or even just casually talking about sex and somehow its an issue? lord FORBID theyre in the bedroom too (no matter if they’re participating or not)

funny enough asexual people arent all sex repulsed, idk how many times this needs to be said? not all asexual folk are the silly weird “sometimes i forget sex exist!” character thats become to prevalent in media now. and im not saying being sex repulsed is bad/being stereotypical, being sex repulsed is fine! ok! amazing! but what im saying is it isnt the only way to be asexual.

honestly any representation of asexuality is good representation cos its a (sparkle effect) SPECTRUM (sparkle effect) some are sex repulsed, some are sex indifferent, some are sex favourable, some are sex weird and some just really wanna touch some ass. Happy New Year I wanted to be back and I actually had a post about the bad things AND the good things complete with photos but it fucking uuhhhhhhhhh broke? So. Yeah. I'll try again but nooo, no photos for me i guess.

but yeeeeah about that 2023. its been a ~real bad year~ huh, or was it just me? Thought I'd throw up a little end ofthe year wrap up, but have been putting it off because a lot of it sucked.

Between multiple deaths in the family, covid still doing its plaguebearing thing, so much fucking stress, worsening symptoms and endless doctor visits and even worse fatigue thats left me in bed most of each week, im... it seems like i got nothing done.

But it wasnt all bad! I'm trying to think on all the things i did this year (and a LOT of things i acquired this year i did... a lot of retail therapy for the first time in my life really???)

-I cant believe i got to see a Rick Riordan Q&A live, like, it seems like AGES ago but was only this year???? It was a genuine bucket list item for me

-i started drawing again??? And im kinda improving???? Id like to share some of it one day somewhere?? Scary.

-got to dip my toes back into cons again! Only the safe/outdoor ones, but it was nice seeing folks again, despite some drawbacks (like AN being 40°C and witnessing a real stupid truck crash, and Yeti being nothing but stress overall and causing some ~brand new (old) symptoms~)

-I started my new life of cosplaying my own OC's over other things. Being Virtue (my dnd pastel barbiecore nightmare child) was absolutely freeing, i cant wait to make him 7 million new outfits

-especially because i got to do a freaking location shoot at a super cool, very out of the way waterfall, with a reflecting pool. i cant wait to bring so many things there

-also did a waterfall tour of Owen Sound. soooooo many dnd/dragon age/etc shoot ideas

-im also saving up for a few dream dragon age costumes, and its gonna be like uhhhhh.... $500ish worth of scalemail? (for two seperate projects)

-speaking of dragon age, i got alex into inquisition and i've become a nightmare about it again im not sorry

-alex and i went halvsies on thigh high boots that are 100% for my Lavellan, because he's a thot and deserves them

-tell me not to spend another like $150cdn on the official shirts. theyre just. so SOFT. they are a pure sensory joy.

-i bought so many cardigans from independent artists, on preorders. and like none of them are here yet but next falls gonna be 👌👌👌

-i have a lolita problem. got to wear one of my fanciest to the cherry blossoms at the height of my pain flares back in the spring! i now have two new dresses on top of that! there's a third im eyeing right now to go with one of my new cardigans! its a real problem y'all 😂

-but by far my biggest and best decision was i saved up for two solid years and was able to buy myself A FREAKING PS5 without breaking budget at all?????? I'm genuinely proud of myself, this was the exact opposite of an impulse buy??? even got to gift a friend the CoD game that came with it, because i was never gonna touch that lol

Next year better keep up the good things, and no new fucking symptoms. Also, depending on the Yeti news, im not letting myself be that fucking stressed this time around.

hey i’m trying to get into resident evil, how do you think i should start? should i start the games then the movies, or the other way around. should i watch the movies at all?

I would recomend the games first always. The Milla Jovovich movies don't actually tie into the games at all, only the animated ones and "Welcome To Raccoon City" do specifically. But the animated movies take place in between events from the games and generally are much more enjoyable if you have the game context in mind.

RE 0-8 are the mainline games as it stands right now. Personally, I've played 2 remake, 3 remake and 4 (remake and original,) 6, and I'm working on playing 0 as well. (I will get around to playing 1 I promise I'm just very slow.)

If you want my advice as far as play order/what you should do, I'd say play/watch a playthru of 1 remake, 2 remake, original 3 and 3 remake, and original 4 and 4 remake (theyre very similar but different enough that playing both is required if you ask me.)

I personally havent played and will not play 5 at this time, I have a lot of issues with parts of the plot and how it was done and I don't like How it plays either from a gameplay perspective. I might watch a playthru of it eventually but I won't play it myself.

6 I would recomend playing, I'm notoriously the guy who loves 6 and finds it fun to play, but most folks will tell you its more fun to play co op specifically for that one.

7 and 8 are kinda their own stories but they Do connect back thru the lore to the original games so play the others Before you touch those.

As far as the animated movies go:

- Degeneration takes place sometime after the events of re4

- Damnation is about a year before re6

- Vendetta is a year after re6

- and the newest one coming out in july, Death Island, will take place a year after Vendetta.

Thats just my advice personally, but I'm opening the floor for my mutuals to add onto this for you too for their own advice in what to do cause I'm sure I forgot some stuff here. If they add to this post I'll reblog it for you later~

1 im so sorry i hate mafia boss i think mustache girl adds spoonfuls of ocean water into his jar to see and hear him squirm in pain. he yells for snatcher to help because theyre both 'bosses' but they just start pouring their blue potions in too because guess who like mu lost its home to someone

2 nomads are such lovely things... im a huge fan of alpine skyline and enjoy them immensely.. i believe they value flexibility and freedom a lot, and broadening their horizons.. folks commonly leave their settlements to see the world and come back a completely different person, and thats accepted as good, i think they believe change is an inevitable and good thing and that its best to be as many versions of yourself as possible

i also think despite how common nomadic lifestyles are those who chose to settle are regarded equally highly, because well someone has to take the travelling ones in.. so its very important to be a good host with good food and soft beds to rest.. taking strangers in is regarded as very normal, theyre very kind and generous in that regard. and because almost everyone is in motion and doesnt stay with another for very long memories are treated as incredibly important and to be valued and apreciated instead of just whats not there anymore. so nomads try to leave good memories behind theirselves.

also because relationships tend to be so fleeting i think its common for them to be objectum/attracted to objects in one way or another. like a piece of clothing or plush or knife or bells. places. etc. look it up if u dont know what it is its awesome

also i think itd be cool if objects in general were treated as capable of recording and replaying information through memories and are as such treated as liek.. capable of storing love affection. if nomads really like each others presences but must part they sort of enchant 2 objects to be connected, so they can keep in touch one way or another. its probably a spiritual thing but im not sure. in kids its typically toys, old or made for the sole purpose of being a love vessel, and adults tend to go for more "discreet"/not immediately things, like alpine goat bells :3

some have had all these excuses for why they get to be exempt from engaging with it (even if it's just...idk supporting a friend who does wlw?), others dont have good excuses or even try to give one, while many just play lipservice and then go back head over heels into mlm (esp fkn. sor/ikus, im beyond sick of those fans in general but the sapphobic ones are a special kind of annoying). and ive known a lot of people who do the lipservice stuff, and theyre also the people who get weird about bi sapphics - almost like their support of wlw was just to get the women out of the way and not as competition for the men they want to predominantly ship with?

but there really is just. a lot of trans mascs who refuse to touch wlw, yet expect sapphics to support their mlm ventures. and god forbid its t4t wlw; i rarely see cis4cis wlw from trans mascs, but never see t4t wlw. but just. why. reiterating a point that gets brought up wrt transmisogyny, but that point of "having grown up with misogyny" sure gets brought up a lot so one would think - esp if this is one of the many "used-to-be-bi-but-now-are-gay-trans men-who-end-up really biphobic"**, why have i known so many why is this a trend - that they would understand the issues surrounding the low visibility and support of wlw, or even just be sympathetic, but theyre just so quick to pull all support?? and again: especially when it concerns anything to do with trans fems.

idk. it's frustrating. it's hard enough to get most people - regardless of identity - to get on board with supporting wlw (esp the wlw folks who don't do sensual handholding, like myself), so it's really maddening to see this happening while they want us to put in the energy for them but they make excuses for why they won't with anyone else - plenty enough w general sapphics, but god forbid its t4t sapphics.

*im using trans mascs here as a general catch all because Yes I Do Understand That There Are Plenty Of Trans Masculine People Who Still Fall Under Sapphic. im saying this because "trans men" is too narrow and doesnt include the trans masc identities that aren't sapphic

**no seriously ive met a lot of them. it's usually formerly-bi gay trans men who suddenly get really vile about bisexuality. and these are the ones who do lipservice because they support wlw usually as cis4cis les4les while ignoring everything else (eSP T4T AND/OR BI4BI). they're also really weird about m/f (even if it's t4t, or even just t4cis, or even if theyre both queer) but thats not the point of this and im p sure that its just misogyny at that point.
