The Keeper is charged with maintaining balance between all of the various realities. Their job is to put those who have fallen out of place back where they belong. (Tales from The Fringes of Reality)
////////
The role of the Moirai was to ensure that every being, mortal and divine, lived out their destiny as it was assigned to them by the laws of the universe. For mortals, this destiny spanned their entire lives, and was represented as a thread spun from a spindle (Greek Mythology)
I've wanted to illustrate something for @thefringespod for awhile.

podcast reviews!
i needed something to listen to while i worked through some art trades, so here are some first-episode reviews of a few shows that interested me!
first up: @thefringespod! the keeper has a very calming voice and is nice to listen to, and the idea of a person in charge of getting people home when they fall through realities is super interesting. it was a good call to start on a job that was irregular, as it highlighted a lot of the usual rules of the universe while also showing they can be broken! i really enjoyed listening to this and it kept my interest the entire time.
next: @tellnotalespod! the beginning of the episode had some funny bits but then it got a lot heavier once the Ghost Stuff actually started, i enjoyed both the vibes and i think the transition between them was pretty good! i'm not usually a horror fan but i still enjoyed this which i think says a lot!
@camlannpod is up next! the characters had some awesome dynamics between them from the get-go, it made the episode feel very engaging and like it really existed in its own world, you know? also the production was FANTASTIC
and finally, @calliopicpodcasts' We Know None! the premise of this is really cool, very very vaguely reminds me of kfam (a Better kfam, that is). gwen's va does such a good job with the feeling in her voice! i think i need to listen to one more episode to decide whether i'll continue listening to this one or not, simply bc i have a lot to listen to right now, but i'm leaning towards yes at the moment. it's hard to tell the dynamic between the two women since they don't directly interact, but you can tell from the get-go that gwen is down bad for frankie lol, i love it. A+ podcast!

We have just over a week left in our crowdfunder! I have told you all about our cast and our gods, it seems only fair that I tell you a bit about myself I'm return. For those who don't know, I'm Pine! I'll be playing your humble narrator Calliope, the muse of epic poetry, in the show. Epic poetry felt like the more appropriate muse as opposed to erotic poetry, so I went with Calliope for our narrator. The story shall unfold under her watchful eye, scenes following in the direction she pulls your attention. I'm having so much fun with her!
In terms of me, I'm a queer POC who has been working in the world of audiodramas for... about three and a half years now! My first show, @thefringespod , is a sci-fantasy anthology with plot that weaves into the spaces between the stories. It is my first love and gave me the confidence needed to make Forged Bonds.
This show is a misuse of my degree in Classics. I have loved mythology my whole life and being able to weave together aspects of myth while fully changing others has been very rewarding for me. It's my love letter to mythology and these gods that have followed me my whole life. I'm so excited for this show and everything our incredible incredible cast has done. They are all ridiculously talented and I'm so lucky to be able to work with them to bring this show that's been an idea in my head for years to life
If you would like to help me pay the incredible cast of this show (I don't take a cut!) you can check out our indiegogo
To everyone who has supported the show so far: you have my endless gratitude. The support that this show has received- both in the crowdfunder and on social media- has blown me away and I can't thank y'all enough for being excited for this show. It means the world to me
And once again to my lovely cast: thank you for putting your faith in me and in this show. I'm so lucky to have each and every one of you and cannot wait to share your talents in this show with the world

Happy Audio Drama Sunday! Last one of the year! There are so many amazing shows I listened to this year--Gastronaut, Kakos Industries, Madame Magenta, Dungeons & Daddies, Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later, Bronzeville, Deviser, Ghosts in the Burbs, The Silt Verses, Fall of the House of Sunshine, The Ballad of Anne and Mary, Eliza: A Robot Story, Eeler's Choice, Hemophobia--this list isn't even comprehensive! But here is what stood out to me this week. (As always, some spoilers follow.)
🦸‍♂️ I've had Superhuman Public Radio on my radar for a while, but I finally got a chance to listen to it this week. For lack of a better way of putting it, the structural integrity of this show is flawless. It sounds exactly like listening to NPR, and it's funny and clever with some really incredible worldbuilding. It's everything I like about listening to local news without the stress of it being local news that affects me. I love it.
✨ I'm also new to Breathing Space, but the Firefly vibes are off the charts. I love any story that is basically just Anticapitalists in Space, but the western vibes of this really make the stories hit home. I especially liked S1E2, "A Rat Among Falcons," because who doesn't love a scruffy nobody being incorporated into a found family? S1E5, "The Salvage of the Valentina Tereshkova" was also a really excellent space horror story. I can't wait to see what they do next. And that theme song tho, right??
❤️‍🩹 @thefringespod has been making incredible use of their new full cast, and I love the twist that this season is driving home--it's not a story presented to you, the listener, it's a tragedy that the mute second character is helping to undo. The softness of the family that Pine Gonzalez spent the whole first season describing comes through beautifully in the work of the actors.
🌊 Modes of Thought In Anterran Literature is always a little bit unnerving, but this week our professor faced the horrors of...rich people. Like, REALLY rich people. "You're already paying for private security?" Absolutely chilling conversations. There was a headline this week about a bunch of Silicon Valley millionaires trying to start a utopia in the desert, which works great all the time of course, and I thought of Anterra, tearing itself apart, and about the professor, who doesn't exactly make great choices, tearing himself apart too.
🐺 Things are getting very scary on Palimpsest! Is this a werewolf season?? It is VERY gothic, which is fun in a Jazz Age setting. It feels incongruous, which just adds to the horror. The quiet build of Palimpsest never disappoints me.
📦 Bless those children on @storiesfromylelmore, they're so darn good. ItMe has always been excellent at writing along the span of human nature, and seeing them do it with the three kids in Stories from Ylelmore is wonderful. Of course, a lot of the credit has to go to ItMe's flawless line delivery too. The kids feel very real, even while they're delivering magical packages from a bookstore to the head of the local witch coven.
🐦 The Amelia Project's Twelve Days of Christmas thing has been so funny. I half hope we never find out who's tormenting Alvina. The only downside is that now I have the song stuck in my head constantly, and seeing that it's like, the second-worse Christmas song, this is a problem. The show's worth it, though.
🕯️ What should appear in my podcatcher this morning but the second episode of Flickers! I was intrigued by that first episode, and this second one is really bringing home the isolationist horror. I can't wait for the next installment.
👽 Among the Stars and Bones is coming back! It's coming back this month! This is one of my all-time favorite sci-fi shows, everyone, if you're not on board yet then GET WITH IT, because this next season is guaranteed to blow your mind.
That's what I've been listening to! Here's what's going on with me:
🧟‍♀️ The Dead has been posting episodes from its second series, Ephemeris, which I wish we could have spent more time on, because the premise is so good. Zombies. In. Space. My gosh. David Ault and Kayla Temshiv in particular are killing it on this story. It'll be a few weeks before our next story premiers, but I'm REALLY excited about that one. Tune in!
Finally, the most important news...
💚Inn Between Returns on Wednesday!🏹
AAAAAAAAAAAAA
I am THRILLED about season five. The cast is killer, the story is fantastic, everyone's bringing their A-game, and I can't wait for you to hear it.
That's all for me! Happy New Year everyone!
(If you like what I do, I'd love it if you could send me a ko-fi! Especially since my car just frikkin. Died. So rude of it. Thanks!)

Come check out Tales from the Fringes of Reality!
“The Keeper's job is to put those who fall out of place in reality back where they belong. With contact to the Council becoming more and more limited and many systems of their AI companion Minerva falling apart, the Keeper must try their best to get their work done while also aiding the lost wanderer who has inexplicably found their way to the Fringes of Reality.”
This audio drama is best recommended to fans of scifi and fantasy who like anthologies with over arching plots!
For a little taste of what this podcast’s about, check out their trailer or you can visit their website for more information. Tales from the Fringes of Reality can be found on Tumblr and Twitter @thefringespod

Gloucester Lamprey Pie Day was yesterday
It's audiodrama Sunday! Also I hear some guy got a new hat yesterday with a stolen Indian colonialism diamond on it, but anyway audiodrama Sunday!
Firstly I'd like to draw your attention to the excellent binaural soundscaping in May 5th's @re-dracula - Awoos. to the left of you, awoos to the right, awoos all over your auditory field, I love it.
You know, I'm not entirely sure our friend Jonathan Harker is going to be all right, chums…?
Finished @thefringespod and OH THE BETRAYAL of the final episode. When will I learn the warm cosy podcast full of lovely stories is inevitably going to hit me right in the dang feels. Also there was a dragon, I liked the dragon.
@monstrousagonies tells us about legal capacity in bog bodies and to get a bloody carbon monoxide alarm. And test it regularly. Also Episode 97 was a brilliant storytelling device and I agree with the commenter politely asking Hero to please never do it again.
I started listening to Death By Dying and… OK everyone who was here for the podcast reccs just assume I said "wonderfully weird and quirky go listen to it" like I did on twitter and go listen to it.
Everyone else, do you ever think about podcasts as people?
And then think if a podcast was a person who they would make a good couple (or maybe throuple+) with?
I think I ship Death by Dying and Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason. I just think they'd be this adorable anglo-american gay couple, who have a youtube channel where they debunk conspiracies and review local funeral parlours. Anyway Death by Dying, wonderfully weird…

Day 6!! We've reached our next cast member who needs no introduction because I talk about him so much but we're gonna introduce him anyway! Playing Aphrodite’s bestie/temporary husband Ares, we have the incredibly talented @taytayheyhey!
Ares is the god of war and, in the typical mythology, Aphrodite’s lover that she cheats on Hephaestus with. Despite popular depictions, Ares was actually a protector of women in ancient Greece and was the patron god of the Amazons. I wanted to showcase Ares as something other than a mean, scary god of war so this show softens him a lot. He's Aphrodite's best friend, by her side no matter what. He's also a bear with a pet bear who ends up falling head over heels for one of our dear gods and treats them with so much love and respect.
Like with Tot and Aph, I immediately had Tay's voice in mind when I was writing Ares. He wasn't sure that he could do this role thinking I was leaning into the whole big mean god of war thing but once I explained my vision he said yes and gods I'm so grateful. He has already made me cry *so much* with his stuff for the first half of the show. Y'all are gonna love what he's done with this character, I just know it.
In addition to being in both of my shows (he plays Winston in @thefringespod, one of my favorite characters I've written) Tay can also be heard in The Grotto, WOE.BEGONE, The Department of Variance of Somewhere, Ohio and on twitch where he streams all sorts of games (hes a great streamer) Tay is insanely talented and getting to create this role for him has been so amazing. I know yall will just love Ares as much as I do
If you would like to support Tay along with the rest of our incredible cast, you can check out our indiegogo campaign! We're getting close to being able to share the next quote from the show, you could be what gets us there!
And to Tay specifically: still dont know if I believe in god but I do believe in you. Meeting you has been a blessing and getting to work with you is a genuine highlight of my life. You're ridiculously talented but you're you're just an amazing friend and I'm so lucky to know you

Rules: Make a new post and post your latest/most recent line from your WIP and tag as many people as there are words.
I was tagged by my beloved @magnetarmadda who I would kill and die for <3
So I don't have any fics currently in the works since I'm working on 2 separate podcasts (season 3 of @thefringespod and a secret project 👀). Since I am fic-less, yall get the last thing I wrote which was a bit of secret upcoming project episode 1
"You didn’t even give them an idea of what you were going to suggest? What, afraid some [REDACTED] would hear it and wouldn’t want to fuck you anymore?"
I do not have this many people to tag 😅 so I will tag my beloved mutual @hihereami and let anyone else who sees this decide if they wanna share <3
