more-or-less finished my sonic ocs, carrion the cat and squabble the pigeon! they’re part of a trio of freelance postmen/hitmen

+ alt reference, doodles, and more under the cut

jacketless when off-duty + their bases. their colourations are based on karpati cats and lahore pigeons, respectively, though ability-wise squabble is actually a homing pigeon. side note; do you know how many pigeon breeds there are? there are a truly insane amount and some of them are so fucking wild to look at. highly recommend looking up fancy pigeons

concept sketches + two carrion sillies. i had a pretty solid idea of what i wanted for carrion, but the only thing i knew about squabble was her name and species for the squab pun, until i doodled a design and was instantly captivated. i just had to stick with the newsie-amelia aerheart cosplay-ema skye-razputin thing she had going on

i think the squabble in the very upper lefthand corner is the cutest thing i’ve ever drawn in my life

various things about them i should mention:

i’ve yet to design these, but they all have mailbags as part of their uniform, and squabble has a pair of heavily modified skate type extreme gear that have wing accessories like the ones on her head as a reference to hermes, messenger of the gods. also they have a plane. a mail plane? still working on that

not set in stone yet but carrion is abt 16-17 and squabble is 11-13

carrion is a trained assassin, born into it, skilled in close quarters combat, they’re proficient in all kinds of weapons including firearms, they also really like knives and keep a collection of all sorts. she’s probably a cat. they don’t speak all that much. incredibly skilled at many things, especially combat related. skilled tactician but doesn’t care to tell anyone anything anytime so they suck as a leader. just generally doesn’t care to say anything. carefree and more-or-less easygoing; they’re just kinda vibing 90% of the time. perma-blep. poker-faced, will do everything with the same blep expression. very protective of the ones he loves, cares about squabble more than everything else in the world, would and has killed for her. will play along with any bit. ultimately: he stays silly

squabble is an untrained pilot, scout, and mechanic, as well as an enthusiast of mail delivery and explosives. she really really likes explosives. has killed before and will kill again, carrion and rig aren’t completely sure she knows that they’re assassins—she does, she just has such a completely out of whack sense of morality and common sense that it’s hard to tell. she has an infectious joy for life that creeps into everyone around her. she’s the beating heart of the trio, and the one who came up with the idea of the matching jackets. is a homing pigeon, has magnetoreception, and therefore makes an excellent navigator and scout. she always knows the way back home, and her home is with the other two. has a completely out of whack sense of danger, is something of a thrill-seeker, but real serious danger she is very acute to. is a mechanic, but not quite an engineer; she repairs, maintains, and makes heavily illegal modifications to machinery, but she doesn’t build her own completely original designs and tends to stay away from electronics. comes off as a little klutzy bust she’s rather proficient in various things.

the third of their trio who is now designed and named rig is a sniper. she’s a fair amount older than the other two, somewhere around 22-24 i’m thinking? the delivery service was just euphemistic for their assassination services before the other two walked into her life. doesn’t pay taxes

they’re a weird non-traditional colleague-family. they’re family-ish :] they love and care about each other, despite it all :] THEYRE FAMBLY!!!!!

they fully do kill people, but also a good portion of their hit missions tend to be for robots or to cause non-lethal commotions instead of straight up assassinations

they have a reputation for this and often take on odd jobs that very loosely fit their job descriptions

they get super suspicious job requests like ‘please “retrieve” “my” ““parcel”” from this heavily secured gun base and deliver it to this super secret off-grid address xoxo~’ and fully deliver on them

I am so incredibly happy wilbur has phil and techno. someone to be proud of him. someone whos judgement he respects. someone he's gonna believe when they say they are proud. someone that cares. and someone that respects him and his wishes. sbi fambly has me weak on my knees every time. its finally having those people in his life for wilbur. its so important to me how phil clearly shows that he has the same love and care for wilbur that he has for tommy, treating them the same, just adjusted to what they both need (OH SANDDUO MY BELOVED SANDDUO). not that techno doesnt show the fact he accepts wilbur into their little family too, his own way, say stuff like "we've taught you well" and "kid", showing worry for wilburs safety etc. and like phil, techno and tommy have been this to each other for a while and now theyre also there for wilbur. I mean look how they were immediately ready to get wilbur out of erets reach, expecting he wouldnt want to go back and having a plan prepared to help. and they let tommy go away with wilbur and like yeah they have no right to try and hold him back, but its how accepting of it they are, like they clearly knew tommy will leave with wilbur and they respect it, knowing its the best for them both even tho that means letting them go, even if hopefully for just a while, like that parental/caregiver feelings must be screaming.

and phil calling wilbur MINE to protect just tops it all perfectly, wraps it up in a decorative paper like the best gift, going straight to you heart

8. the option to leave is so dhfhhfhdhd. like yeah maybe it is that easy. just leave. get away from it all. the little "Oh. <i>Oh.</i>" when wilbur realises he can just do that. he can just leave. hes free. fully free to do so kinda for the first time in his life. and once its sure tommy would go with him, its easy. like yeah they have to smuggle through the border and get fake ids and stuff, but after all theyve been though it feels easy. there is a clear solution for his situation. the knowledge that if they manage to get past the borders (a pretty simple tho risky task) hell be fine. like yes he still has to figure himself out but hell be somewhere where he is free to do so and tommy will be there. what more to ask for. its the clearest idea of what will come theyve ever had. and it says that they will be okay.

also than in comes quackity with a suggestion they might be seeing a familiar face sooner than expected, which sounds nice.

and in the end they do it. they get past the border. they leave and theyre safe and together and theyll be okay fjjdjsjsjyj

sbi family is very important in glass for several reasons but especially so wilbur has some basis of caring relationships outside of JUST tommy lol

both phil and techno have accepted wilbur into their family at this point. from the start phil and techno both knew that eret was probably not going to let the pythia go, it was just a matter of the two of them figuring out if that's what wilbur wanted or not. because even though they both had figured out that being the pythia was destroying wilbur, neither of them were going to take that choice away from him. if he made the decision to go back to his role with eret in charge, neither one of them were going to stop him.

but then wilbur confesses that he doesn't want to be the pythia anymore, and all bets are off. both of them started brainstorming escape ideas for wilbur before the palace invasion even happened because even though they weren't certain, they both had a gut feeling eret was going to pull this.

I think techno was the one who pointed out to phil that tommy was definitely going to go with wilbur if he left. and while phil was reluctant, he knows his kid and he knew there was no way he could stop him. and he also knew there was no way wilbur would go without him.

yes the oh!! he can just leave! it always seemed so impossible but the option is always there. to just pick up your bags and go. get out. get away from all of this. the country is dealing with too much chaos of its own to hunt him down. not to mention, again, he's probably gonna be assumed dead from the palace burning down.

futaba sakura & the person who Saved Her…. futaba saved herself but she would not have had the chance to get there without the phantom thieves. because p5 is a little bit about how you need human connection & friendships & the support of others, to keep you going, to get you through difficulties. futaba needed the phantom thieves because she couldnt get out of the terrible mental place she was in on her Own & she treasures their help so much & Especially. Akira. akira, her beloved human meat shield, the guy who does the talking to strangers in target for her, someone she can trust to push her just enough that its good for her and not overwhelming. her Key Item <3 and he is dedicated to helping her out, usually in the form of standing between her & an intimidating person, and helping her achieve her goals, and telling her what a good job she is doing

ok i say “theyre siblings” A LOT about characters. I throw the concept around a bit lightly. With Akira & Futaba my full force is behind it. I mean it the same way i mean it with characters who are actually canonically part of the same family. like they are Speedrunning the traditional sibling experience.

They’re literally the PERFECT annoying older brother & annoying little sister duo. They aren’t actually capable of annoying Each Other, but they try it anyway, and their combo damage when they team up to annoy someone else? Outstanding. You wont sleep for a week knowing these 2 teens could be anywhere waiting to bully and prank you.

They are INSEPARABLE <3 not literally. akira does lots of things without futaba & one of futabas Goals is to have the ability to go outside and do new things and interact with new people Without having akira with her. but like. They bonded & now they cannot conceive of their lives without each other. They will never stop being friends because they are like actual siblings to each other. They’re stuck together for life.

basically the version of them from my mind is like them from canon but if akira wasnt a silent protagonist so he got to do more… they bully each other but they also hype each other up a bunch… they collaborate to tease sojiro and shout about curry… theyre a fambly. and they are the autism creature together. sound of akira teaching futaba Brand New Coping Mechanisms For Existing In The World. theyre so. i love them so much.

what do you like about their relationship, why is it interesting or enjoyable to you?

As some of my other responses have shown I just really like sibling relationships i thimk they’re neat <3 and i like futaba a lot. and i like akira a lot. and i. *starts crying* Family……. they warm my little heart

again!!! futaba has a lot of trust in the phantom thieves and gratitude to them for helping her when she couldn’t do it on her own and it goes extra for akira bc hes also the perfect person to go to for just like. all the stuff she needs. stand near me at the store so i feel like im not on my own. hold me to the promises i made & things i want to achieve. and futaba hasnt HAD. close friends in person. in quite a while. so this is so IMPORTANT and GOOD for her.

Akira receives: A little sister. no but for real … the sakura family … we dont like. know anything at all abt akiras actually family but no matter what, like, it is so fuckign good for him that he just gets adopted into this family like this. *slams my fist against the table* as is the case with ALL of the phantom thieves because its the whole POINT, at the beginning of the game akira is without a place where he feels like he BELONGS and the phantom thieves become this for each other overall but it hits different with like. this is his Family now. futaba is his sibling now. sojiro is stuck with these kids now. leblanc is . like. His Home. he has that now. he has Them !!!!!!

actor showcase! everyone loves kurapika which, same 

ah so the director of this musical also directed the sailor moon musicals, which i didnt know existed but of course that exists...thats funny considering the hxh mangaka is married to the sailor moon mangaka 

anyways that was fun honestly!!!! i fuckgin love musicals, and musical adaptations of non-musical source materials can be like, SO different tonally, but this honestly felt like a fun filler 

it was really interesting seeing something based on the canon from this early on - as i said above, some of the characterizations (like the zoldycks) seems a bit different than we’re used to, but others were spot on - like hisoka only showing up intermittently to sow chaos and do nothing else vhjkadhbfhkjdsfnj im assuming the yorknew arc hadnt happened at this point, but hisokas actions in this musical were hilariously similar to how he acted in the yorknew arc, so, props. 

plus it was cool to see the ‘what if’ factor w/hisoka and illumi also being there, espec illumi interacting w/killua bc its so wildly different from how killua reacts to any of his other family members - hes clearly scared of illumi, in a way he isnt w/anyone else, and that was done well here w/the scene where illumi threatens killua’s friends to get killua to listen to him

also the angst was honestly great, and there was some REALLY sweet wholesome parts that i loved. and the music wasnt half bad either!!

i think the VAs did a great job playing the characters - hisokas VA was especially great (and i really loved kurapika too). gons hair was not very similar to how it looks in the show so it was a little more obvious that he was being played by a grown woman, but still a great performance. 

anyways fun times, i love musicals and this was a fun ole 2000s filler shounen musical adaptation

the belchers are my favorite tv family bc 1) the mom is the goofy irresponsible fun parent 2) the dad is the one who cooks 4 the family 3) the parents are both loving and (generally) supportive of their kids even when they make terrible choices 4) the parents love each other and have fun together 5) the dad is like. even though hes grumpy and a buzzkill hes emotionally available to his kids and wife (most of the time? from what i remember) and like......talks to his kids and tells them he loves them..........like theres an episode where bob and gene hold hands while theyre walking home and say i love you to each other which is like, weirdly rare....should be normal but unfortunately it's worth noting.................anyway i hate cartoon analysis posts but theyre a fun fambly....i like them

i love my two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to my ahit aus. i only have two but like.

in one hk and bk are just two kids playing minecraft with their parents (who arent in a relationship). they dont want to use too much money so they share accounts. their parent decided to let them stream on twitch so long as they referred to them as Moon and their father as Snatcher and called each other whatever codenames they liked. no actual names allowed. The other one is hk and bk are two kids who got seperated bc even tho theyre children they have jobs that ended up sending one across multiple galaxies and further. They see nothing wrong with this. Hk doesnt like parental figures and will actively run away upon believing someone might feel familial in a parental sense. MJ doesnt even interact with her or bow like. ever. found family wins sometimes. not always. or even often. sadness and stuff D-

I know for a fact Tamaki and Sogo wouldn’t let go of this group. That’s their family. Their true family, not their deadbeat dads, not their abusive parents, none of that. This is their real family. And that attachment would keep them all together, if it got to the point where they start drifting. But they never will get to that point because they love each other.
