And Hyperion city grew used to the image of Sarah Steel, both arms laden with a child instead of just the one. Of bright, smiling Benzaiten Steel, an enviably easy child, sweet and pleasant. And in her other arm, stormy and frowning Juno Steel, with the tongue that couldn’t tell a lie and gold eyes that hurt to stare into for too long.

Hey, Travelers! After a couple years away, I’m doing the @penumbrabang​ again this year! And to my absolute joy, I got to do art for @alexandenigtscreations’ fantastic fic THEIA My Name! 

It features various shenanigans with the Theia chip and a long-awaited reunion between Juno Steel and Diamond Hijikata!

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and being on Dark Matters most wanted list makes a person about as desperate as they come.  With the Carte Blanche's expert in disappearing still missing in action, Rita manages to locate another, more unlikely source.  

Which is how Juno Steel found himself on the door stoop of Diamond Hijikata.  An old flame who made just enough of a name for herself to be a problem.

So I did a thing and wrote a Penumbra fic. Basically I’ve had season 2 brain rot and couldn’t stop thinking about how the THEIAs work and how they would leave an effect even after they were gone. I’m working on one for the psychological effects but I cranked out a chronic illness hurt/comfort fic for the physical effects.

I wasn’t gonna make a post about it but @seth-silver-ink beta’d for me and asked me to so 🤪🤪🤪

Summary:

At sixteen, Ben talked Juno into helping him learn a dance for a talent show, hoping to impress a crush. Seven years later, those dance moves come in handy for Juno at the Vixen Valley, where he has been trying to run away from everything he's lost.

Notes:

I love that this PCC prompt allowed me to write about two of my favorite eras of Juno that I haven't gotten to explore much in fic, teenage scoundrel Juno and mid-twenties self-destructive at the Vixen Valley Juno. Those two stages of Juno's life are the two narrators of this story so brace yourself for some canon-compliant self-loathing from our lady.

For as long as Peter Nureyev can remember, he’s been able to see ghosts. It was a useful skill for a kid on the streets of Brahma but he has since found limited use for it within the rest of the galaxy. That is, until he meets Juno Steel and his twin, undetected by the detective for two decades.

A friendly ghost can be very useful for a lot of things, such as cheating at cards, being an invisible lookout in an ancient Martian tomb, or even as an emotional translator for his grumpy twin. With Benten now along for the adventure, it changes the course of Juno and Nureyev’s lives, from their very first meeting, all the way to the fight against the THEIA for the soul of Hyperion.

Just realized I never posted the link to my current magnum opus fic --

"Once Upon a Time there was a Queen.

She was known throughout the farthest reaches of the land, and in the deepest trenches of the sea. To all above the waves, there was none more adored and revered than Queen Andromeda. A warrior seemingly summoned out of thin air in the realm’s greatest time of need. A savior from the very stars themselves."

Juno and his brother Benziten have heard the story of Queen Andromeda, the star's champion, and her defeat of Lord Draco's army of sirens their whole lives. Until she vanished, and took peace with her. Thankfully the legends also spoke of the key to her power, a mystical item called the Eye of Storms. What had been his legendary obsession for years comes to change his life now as an adult, when his brother is kidnapped in the name of finding the Eye by a group of pirates. Juno manages to insert himself into another pirate crew's journey for the Eye, the crew of the Carte Blanche. They're after the Eye, and if the people who took Benten are too then that's where Juno wants to be. Even if certain things make him start to also want to be there for other reasons...like a man he just can't place with a past he's dying to know.

pls recommend junoverse fanfic to me. i’m kinda sorta desperate for au fics but not “it’s basically canon but with some changes” au fics and not “fused with a different piece of material but still in the canon universe” au fics. i want “this is not the canon universe and not the canon story, the characters are thrown into a different setting and story with small references to canon that make you go HA I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE and not-ooc characters that still work under completely changed circumstances” au fics. okay. pls. give me those.

here's a fic I wrote for the 2022 TPP Bang! It's maybe my favorite fic I've ever written and has gotten many glowing reviews so check it out :)

SUMMARY

Once upon a time, a princess met a prince, and they fell madly in love and lived happily ever after the end. That’s how it’s supposed to go anyway, or so Juno had heard. In his experience? Rarely that simple.

Juno Steel doesn’t want to get married, and he doesn’t want to run a kingdom, but Benzaiten is missing and presumed dead, leaving him sole heir to the throne. Monsieur Edmund Dauphin is insufferable, but Juno's going to grit his teeth and bear it, for his kingdom or whatever.

Peter Nureyev is after the amber wand, a supposedly magical artifact worth more to him as a valuable trinket he can sell. Juno Steel seems like just another stuck up brat of a princess, but Nureyev is happy to play up the falsified charm if it means getting his prize. Soon, he'll be rich. 

A tale of magic and monsters, love and loathing, princesses and thieves, and... rabbits?
