Ryoko had always loved cats. Whenever try visited her uncle Mic and uncle Eraser, she was drawn to their cats, and they to her. Spooky and Pumpernickel were her favourites, the first being a dark grey with bright green eyes, the second being dark brown with stripes and brown eyes.

It should have been no shock to Katsuki when she came home one day with Eijirou, a cat in a box in her arms. But of course, a surprise it was.

It was a normal Wednesday afternoon. Katsuki was home with little Tadashi and baby Takeo, both boys napping in their rooms quietly. Eijirou was picking up their eldest and only daughter, fresh off of a shift at his current agency.

Katsuki himself was in the kitchen, frying up a good healthy supper for his family when the door opened. He should have known the small meow hadn't been a fault of his worsened hearing.

"We're home!" Eijirou called, a nervous tinge to his voice. "And we have, uhm, a surprise!"

"Better not be take out supper." Katsuki growled, wiping his hands on a towel as he walked towards the door. He stopped short in his place, staring down at his eight-year-old daughter holding a cardboard box with a small, frail orange striped cat nestled in it. "That's not take out supper."

"Surprise?" Eijirou squeaked, wincing carefully. "He's so small and weak, Katsuki, we couldn't just leave him there!"

Katsuki didn't respond, just stared at the cat. It's bright blue eyes stared at him, wide and scared. Ryoko was also staring, her red eyes pleading. "Can we keep him, Dad? Please?"

He raised an eyebrow, looking back at his husband, who was giving him the same look. Fuck, guess they have a cat now. "I won't clean up after him or feed him, so you have to. Make a list, and I'll pick up the things for him while you take him to a vet tomorrow."

"Yes! Thank you thank you thank you!" Ryoko shouted, bouncing on her toes, just barely jostling the cat. Their cat. Fuck. "I'll take good care of him, and love him forever!"

Eijirou, bless him, sent her off with the cat, turning to Katsuki with a small smile on his face. "That was nice of you, Katsuki."

"As long as I don't have to clean up it's shit, I couldn't care less." He shrugged, turning back to the kitchen. "Supper's ready in five."

"I, Bakushima Ryoko, officially name thee Spaghetti! Bakushima Spaghetti!"

Turns out, Spaghetti was an asshole. Most cats were, but Katsuki was hoping he wasn't. He'd go around tipping over glasses, chasing Ryoko's brothers, and swiping at anyone that wasn't her that got too close.

She argued that he was just a little angry, or had too much energy. Too much energy his ass, the cat just hated everyone. Eijirou suggested a visit to their vet, and it seemed like a logical choice.

The vet recommended snipping his balls off, or 'gettinf him fixed', as she'd said. Whatever, if it would make him behave, Katsuki would chop them off himself. Not really, because he had a heart. He'd pay for it again and again.

After his surgery he had to wear that hilarious satelite dish, and thankfully he mellowed out. He was still a ballsy little fucker, but he wasn't wild.

The cat hates the turtle. Of course he fucking did. Tadashi had brought home his choice of wild pet that morning, and the damn cat had tried to kill it have times already. Tadashi was clearly upset, and Ryoko was trying to keep Spaghetti locked in her room.

Buying the terrarium was an obvious step, and keeping the cat away was a pain I'm the ass. He was a mischievous fella, much like his owner, and got into in often. After a while it stopped being to kill it, but simply to annoy the humans. Katsuki hated that little game.

The cat was sleeping in the box by the door, as he always did when Ryoko was gone. Before the box was set up, he'd sleep on the mat or in her old shoes, so they'd set up a box with one of Ryoko's childhood sweaters in it.

When she was home, he'd sleep on her bed, curled up next to her chest. When she wasn't, he sat by the door, and only slept when night fell. He was very attached to her, even going as far as to climb up her back and sit on her shoulder as she left for school each morning, as if hoping she'd take him with her.

Then he'd just on the terrarium, and all sympathy for the cat would be lost.

As the years wore on, Spaghetti grew older, and as Ryoko was graduating, he was ten. She took him with her to her new apartment, and Katsuki thought that was all he'd seen of the little dude. He'd grown on him, while she was away at school.

Maybe one day he'd get his own cat, but for now, he was glad to finally have his black shirts furr-less.
