Much better! I reorganized a bit so my llama skull wouldn’t be as hidden too. I also got a neat deer painting print to put under my taxidermy deer heads. Slowly working on decorating every inch of that wall
I also got a ton of cheap frames for spore prints! I got a 3 pack of some cheapo ikea ones that I can paint with some of the house paint I have left over.
What your OCs or favorite characters would be doing on a beach? In case they absolutely can't go on a beach, what other summer activity do they enjoy?
Bonus level - once answered, pass this ask to 3 other people's inboxes!
The first time Gale takes Gum to the beach it's just the two of them. Not for any particular reason, Gale has a few: he's self conscious about his own body but mostly he's unsure how Gum will respond.
Gum is thrilled that, yes, finally he can wear something not several layers long and be appropriate in public. He's talked down from wearing armor or his harnesses, given one of Gale's open shirts to hang loose over his shoulders, but they compromise that Gum can wear a skirt that ties at the side to hide the leather straps of his bottom wear.
Gale really doesn't know what else Gum could wear to the beach, having learned from camping with both Gum and Lae'zel that githyanki don't wear leather underwear for fashion, it's for function.
Still Gale sets up a large umbrella and blanket, hoping to eat some watermelon and read a book in his partners company. Before Gale can even get the words out he notices Gum is basically in a trans, staring out at the ocean.
Gum wastes no time finding a secluded spot near some rocks to sit and soak, relaxing with the water up to his shoulders. Immediately he's meditating, comforted by the salty taste in the air and the caress of water passing through his clothes like a comforting hug. Gale decides to give him some space, make himself comfortable under the umbrella, and read his book.
Gale, unfortunately, falls asleep and as the sun moves in the sky it means he ends up with an uneven tan. A pale line across his stomach shows where his arm hand fallen, his book thankfully rolling onto the blanket and not the sand. Meanwhile Gum had eventually came back to the umbrella like a soaking wet beast, sunburnt on his face and neck as he is a little emotionally raw. It's reminiscent of his crèche, dredging up bad memories, and the only comfort he has in this new environment is the smell of his partner as they bask like two lizards.
Eventually the wake up sore and crispy, laughing at how silly the other looks with their spot tan and burns. Shaking the sand from their belongings, Gale gives many promises of tending to Gum's burns once they get back to the tower, chalking the day to a net positive even if he was not conscious for a good portion of it.
OOF it's been a while since I've had a nightmare visceral enough to wake me up from a dead sleep into straight terror... But I guess I shouldn't have underestimated how much my brain would pick up from a podcast Teirlisting Horror Games. .....
(I go on to describe the dream in the tags so watch out if you don't want to hear descriptions of the horrors my brain can cook up.. cw Body Horror mostly)
Copperhead is not native to Gotham. He came from outside the city, roaming the states as a drifter until he heard of Gotham's reputation as a city with high levels of crime. Drawn by the promise of work and wealth, Copperhead settled down and has since made a home for himself, especially when he heard on the grapevine that another reptillian metahuman lives there...
its wild to me how western european beauty standards even effected me as a child. my blonde, blue-eyed ass. i'd tan and come inside to look at my skin and it was "darker" in a way thats not conventionally understood as beautiful, I thought I was "supposed" to have more red and orange pigment when I tanned
like this
but instead it was more like
this and it always made me feel insecure on a subconscious level, like i wasnt the "right type of tan" or something :/
anyways, everyone with olive skin is beautiful and fuck them other color undertones sdjkhbvsfgdvghsdfhgvdfshvgfdgshv
