Plan for today:

1. Ignore the electrical problems for now. Just run an extension cord for the chicken’s fan and try not to trip over it.

2. Because the baby chickens are 3 weeks old today and should have been evicted from my bathroom 2 weeks ago. All 15 of them. The primary goal for today is to move them to their new run—they don’t need the coop, I’ve got a plastic doghouse they can use temporarily.

3. Before I can move them I need to install the sheathing of the floor in the coop since it will involve power tools and I don’t want to give the little fluffballs a heart attack. I got the floor “joists” installed yesterday before it decided to rain again. After I get it cut to fit, but before screwing it down, I need to put one protective layer of paint on the joists and the bottom of the sheathing. Especially since I’m reluctantly using scrap OSB instead of scrap plywood as it’s what I’ve got. I just have to keep telling myself that it’s only a chicken coop and will be covered in sheet vinyl anyway and it probably won’t fall apart during these chicks entire lifetimes, but it still makes me twitch.

4. Clean up the bathroom. Luckily I’ve had the awning window open the entire time to exhaust the air and keep the room warmer. It cut down on the dust tremendously. But there are still shavings everywhere because baby chickens.

Okay, breakfast has been had and it’s late enough to use the saw, so off I go!

ok despite the regular trials and tribulations I do have to admit that it seems like my fate might be taking a turn for the better... got a full button press for less than half original pricing, really complicated personal art I've been working on is progressing even better than expected, have (free!!) little treat of lovely cold tea, haircut tmrw, And two chapters of thee best fic in existence (<absolutely not biased despite being official beta reader) ready for edits at my leisure. yeah we simply must acknowledge it's all coming up jae for sure😌

Bachelor auction AU is now 19k words long. I wrote around 2.5k words for it this weekend at a cafe I like, and it flowed as smoothly as my mango smoothie.

I'm maybe 1/4 of the way through it or nearing that? But I don't think I'll post before it's all done. I learned from that mistake with Proof.

Okay so when I got sucked into the phantom zone last week while watching youtube shorts a lot of the content it fed me was ADHD tips and a lot of it was either useless for me or redundant but there was one REALLY good tip about taking breaks that wasn't about taking breaks it was about RETURNING from breaks and the tip is: when you are about to go on a break, before you step away from your task (work, craft project, school stuff) decide what you'll do as the first thing when you sit back down at your task and set up your workspace to do that thing.

That means you've got an easy re-entry point to go back to doing the thing instead of sitting back down and having to make a decision or having to reorient from break mode to task mode. You have pre-reoriented and can just go back into working mode.

I've been doing this by circling what my next task on my tasklist is and bringing up the windows that I'll need for the task before I step away from my desk.

Brilliant hack, works great for me, hope it works great for you as well.
