As the sun sets, it’s the perfect time to reset your energy and weave a little magic into your evening:

• Light candles or incense that match your intention

• Brew a magical tea potion to calm your spirit

• Reflect during sunset, the best time for banishing toxic habits and welcoming healing

• Cleanse your energy with a selenite wand or herbal bundle

• Take a cleansing bath or shower ritual

• Use crystals and essential oils in your skincare routine for extra enchantment

Halloween Scavenger Hunt!

Take a picture of a spider

Find a tree with most of the leaves fallen out

Take three of the most beautiful leaves

Touch a big tree with bare branches

Find a mushroom

Find one wild plant you know the name and use for

Make a potion (tea is fine)

Find an abandoned house

Say hello to the ghosts inside

Take a picture of the inside (hand through a window is fine)

Touch a pumpkin

Eat/drink a pumpkin-flavoured bit of food (or a real pumpkin dish)

Put on a festive outfit

Find a grave

Introduce yourself to the deceased

Find a grave with a red flower/red candle

Find a crypt and take a picture

Make a decoration with your three leaves you found

Draw a white ghost

Cut out your ghost and put it on the fridge/cabinet

Light a candle

Summon a ghost (optional)

I just had a thought:

What if the witches from so long ago decided (in order to hide but still use their magic) to switch how they used magic? Instead of rituals and spells they turned to an everyday task that no one would question and imbue it with magic?

Weaving, knitting, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, embroidery; all these things kind of have a way about them that is endless, lasting, and carries the creators ways and will.

Imagine elderly witches who would crochet their children and then grandchildren things like blankets and knit hats and as they did they would weave their magic in them to make them warmer or provide things like feelings of safety, comfort and love. It could be where the idea of safety blankets came from.

Like 90% of the time* "some people can't go vegan🙄❌️👎" as anti-vegan rhetoric comes from people who IT DOESNT EVEN APPLY TO.

There ARE specific situations where people need to eat animals to survive-- severe poverty, living off the grid, specific health conditions, food deserts-- plant based diets are able to support mostly anybody, but because of the carnist world we live in it isn't /available/ to everybody.

And vegans UNDERSTAND THIS. When we are advocating for veganism and the end of speciesism, we obviously aren't fucking talking about a starving child in Africa (yes someone has said this to me) and I'm tired of even dignifying this bullshit with a response.

We are addressing everyday people in our own communities-- people like us who absolutely can go vegan. The same people who weaponize serious situations like poverty to misrepresent a LIBERATION MOVEMENT.

To try to bash and misrepresent one of the strongest ways we can use our voice as consumers to resist oppression and environmental destruction, isn't just fucked but is also stupid. It's not helping anyone, especially not the vulnerable populations you use as misrepresented sheilds to your own ignorance.

In our increasingly bigoted and environmentally destructive planet (especially here in the US) we don't have time for this bullshit.

(* this is in my and others experience as activists who've had conversations with many others about veganism. It might not be your experience, especially if you aren't an activist)
