The Shift in Consumer Engagement Strategies
The way consumers engage with brands has undergone significant evolution. Gone are the days when a simple television ad would captivate an audience’s attention. Nowadays, consumers prefer personalized, interactive, and engaging experiences that resonate with their lifestyles and values. For example, consider how often you browse social media for product recommendations or reviews before making a purchase. This shift highlights a few key trends in consumer engagement: Desire for Authenticity: Consumers are drawn to brands that show genuine personality and transparency. Preference for Instant Gratification: With the rise of e-commerce, immediate access to products has become a standard expectation. Community Engagement: Many consumers seek a sense of belonging by engaging with brands and other customers online. The importance of relationship-building instead of mere transactions cannot be overstated. By using interactive strategies, brands can meet consumers where they are and cater to their evolving preferences.

If you could un-invent something, what would it be?
The one technology I would love to un-invent is social media apps. These platforms have woven themselves so deeply into our lives that it feels almost impossible to escape their grasp. From the moment we wake up, we’re bombarded with endless good morning messages, notifications, and a never-ending stream of updates. Instead of savoring the quiet moments or engaging in face-to-face conversations,…

Kaveh is like this close to committing a sin with Mehrak, like he's playing a really dangerous game. It's just a matter of time Mehrak gets even more sentient when it's already this far. I know Kaveh keeps it in check, but man... I hope they'll talk about this one day. Either that or Kaveh will always brush it off, as if he didn't get some ancient core to build it??? Also, I always love your thoughts, thanks for loving these two so much!
hiya! thank you for your ask! i'm so glad you enjoy my posts :") <3 Mehrak’s existence is so ??? funny to me. we have tighnari’s story quest detailing the akademiya’s ban on research into mechanical lifeforms, directly alongside kaveh building his own mechanical lifeform and parading it around, sending it on solo coffee retrieving missions whilst everyone in sumeru looks on smiling <3
Mehrak’s legality hasn’t been mentioned at all in-game as of now, and as it’s been used consistently, both in kaveh’s hangout, a parade of providence, and now nahida’s birthday event, with not one mention of legality or potential trespasses, makes it seem that that’s how things will stay - especially since Cyno has met/is aware of mehrak’s existence during the battle scene during a parade of providence (then again, cyno did meet the wanderer during this event, and yet in nahida’s birthday event it seems he’s only HEARD of the wanderer through sethos??) but even then, since Cyno trusts Tighnari with karkata’s continued existence, it’s likely not a stretch to say that to Cyno, Kaveh can be trusted with Mehrak’s existence (it’s all very iffy)
Mehrak’s existence, overall, has had little focus other than its usage in battle, its official introduction in a parade of providence, where kaveh stipulates it has low intelligence, and was built to assist him, as well as being incapable of talking back and giving him ‘attitude’ (implicitly comparing mehrak to alhaitham), and in kaveh’s hangout when he works on designing a building. It’s only in recent events, such as cyno’s second story quest, and now in nahida’s birthday event, that mehrak has gotten more mentions, and now a spotlight, which is all in relation to coffee, tying back to alhaitham and kaveh’s improved relationship (the coffee analysis will be in the updated essay finally!!). as of right now, overall, mehrak doesn’t appear to be a major focus
It might be strange for the game to mention now that mehrak has been an illegal creation all this time, unless it’s a significant plot point that has to be resolved, but if mehrak is further explored, like in the temple of silence for example (hoyoverse I am once again asking), then perhaps this collective ignoring of a crime occurring will be explained away, if mentioned at all? It’s interesting that tighnari says it might be possible that this ban is reversed in the future, but as for whether that will actually happen, and the implications of this, aren’t clear
Mehrak’s accepted existence in general poses so many questions. I’m interested in the specifics of the ban, like does it depend on the autonomy of the machine in question? Abattouy aimed to make Karkata essentially human, capable of individual thought, processing, emotion, and conversation, which definitively broaches on the intersection of mechanical and biological life which caused the Akademiya to ban this type of research in the first place. So if a machine is able to act on its own, irrespective of human interference, then this is what the akademiya would want to prevent
In mehrak’s case, it’s unclear as to what its limits are, but from what has been shown so far, it seems that mehrak can only act on kaveh’s commands and when held in battle – it’s uncertain rn whether mehrak can act independently of this, but as kaveh invented it to only assist in certain matters, it’s doubtful. But then again, we don’t have a great scope of whether it can experience emotions, as it has shown signs of being distressed in a parade of providence when kaveh states that it can’t talk back, and when being scolded by kaveh in nahida’s birthday event
if mehrak has limited intelligence, it's interesting to compare mehrak with karkata. abattouy was attempting to make karkata understand human language, and be able to respond in order to have conversation, which was proved impossible, whereas although mehrak only speaks in beeps, kaveh is shown to have a thorough understanding of what it’s saying? Mehrak can be programmed to recognise people’s voices, but seemingly also language, as mehrak can obey spoken command, which is what abattouy tried to accomplish but was unable to with modern technology.
Mehrak, on the other hand, understands kaveh’s basic requests – which is made even funnier in kaveh’s old sketchbook, where he says that more than anything he really wants mehrak to understand what he’s saying. he got his wish but at what cost???
Mehrak being made from ancient technology, belonging to that of king deshret’s civilisation, offers many interesting paths that could be explored in future events, as besides the primal constructs roaming around, the puzzles in the desert, and now the temple of silence, no technology really exists from that time. Someone commented that mehrak’s presence in nahida’s birthday event, in conjunction with the event being based around ancient technology with the wedjat eye, could be highlighting mehrak’s irregularity in modern day sumeru – potentially foreshadowing for a future event that could further expand upon mehrak? If this is the case, I am all for it, there are so many questions concerning kaveh’s little light <3
#haikaveh#kavetham#alhaitham#kaveh#genshin impact#in general my head is so empty when it comes to mehrak so thank you for giving me a chance to explore this#there's this contrast of ancient technology and modern technology that is interesting to me as well#since ancient technology has already achieved low intelligence life (seemingly) without cruel experiments or danger that comes with#modern attempts of creating artificial life and is why the akademiya banned this research direction#ancient technology exists separately to modern regulations so in that case would there be a distinction in the ban between ancient#technology and modern technology? i feel the answer is no but also mehrak should legally be dismantled so i'm not sure what is happening#maybe the next sumeru event will be jailbreaking kaveh and mehrak

For every warm and fuzzy story about western celebrities using surrogates there's stories like these from the rest of the world.
April 01, 2025
The twins’ father, identified only by his surname Long, is a 50-year-old man from Jiangxi Province, southeastern China.
A shocking case has come to light from China where a 17-year-old allegedly acted as both a surrogate mother and egg donor for a 50-year-old man. According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), he paid her over 900,000 yuan (approximately Rs 1 crore) to conceive twin boys. This incident has sparked outrage on social media.
The case surfaced on March 24 when Shangguan Zhengyi, an anti-trafficking activist, shared details on social media. The post revealed that the girl, from the Yi minority community, gave birth to twins after becoming a surrogate through an agency in the southern city of Guangzhou. The activist also provided evidence such as children’s birth certificates a “guaranteed success agreement" and other surrogacy-related contracts to support his claims.
As per the report, the girl, from Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, was born in May 2007. She delivered male twins on February 2 in Guangdong Province, southern China. At the time of embryo implantation, she was only 16 years old.
The twins’ father, identified only by his surname Long, is a 50-year-old man from Jiangxi Province, southeastern China. Long reportedly signed an agreement with Guangzhou Junlan Medical Equipment Co. Ltd., which included a surrogacy fee of 730,000 yuan (nearly Rs 86 lakh). He specifically requested twin boys as part of the agreement.
The contract also stated that the girl would serve as both the surrogate and the egg donor. Long, who is unmarried, allegedly pretended that the girl was his wife to obtain birth certificates and household registrations for the twins. He paid over 900,000 yuan but it is unclear how much of that amount actually went to the girl.
The Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission has launched an investigation. Although surrogacy is not explicitly banned in China, various regulations prohibit the practice.
Wu Zhenhua, a lawyer from Beijing Yedi Law Firm, said the surrogacy agency could face charges for illegal business activities and unlawful medical practices.
“Organising minors to participate in surrogacy constitutes harm to minors and may involve trafficking of women and children or intentional injury," said Wu as quoted by SCMP.
“The fabrication of documents and household registrations may violate laws against forging, altering, or trading official government documents. As for the male client, he may be considered an accomplice to crimes such as aiding illegal business operations or intentional injury," Wu added.
Social media users expressed their anger over the incident with one person writing, “Reading this news really broke my heart. As a mother, I know how exhausting and painful pregnancy can be."
Another commented, “Women are not vessels. Medical institutions that facilitate surrogacy must face criminal charges. A fine of just a few thousand yuan is far from enough."

technology in teyvat is weird because you can't even call it techological advancement because their tech isn't advancing, it's regressing. they're not discovering new ways to do things, they are actively trying to rebuild tech thatvexisted hundreds if not thousands of years ago that no one fucking remembers how to make anymore.
like. it's actually really interesting how most of the high-tech things came from either immortals or a long dead civilization. in liyue, the adepti are the tech innovators, particularly guizhong and cloud retainer. even ningguang's jade chamber needed adepti sigils to be made. nearly all of inazuma's tech leads directly back to ei or khaenri'ah. the akasha was built by the dendro archon. fontaine's power was built by focalors and the fontaine research institute takes heavy inspiration from deshert's civilization. the entirety of natlan is Like That because they're the only civilization that still has a direct historic connection with the dragons.
and i think this does make the role of the archons a lot more interesting. they're not just guiding humanity in a nebulous way. they are the literal bridge between the more modern and very dead civilizations and the existing nations. there is a danger to discovery in teyvat. all the ancient civilizations fell because they learned too much. so now, humanity is not discovering, they are recreating. and the archons job is to facilitate that recreation so that humans themselves arent doing it. they can study history but only to an extent.
#ara rambles#genshin impact#it also puts both mond and snezhnaya in a really interesting position tho#like dottore is committing blasphemy his research is antithetical to what is allowed#cause its objectively evil but also because it goes too far#and the cryo archon is not stopping him and possibly encouraging him#mond on the other hand is the least modern because they have zero guidance from immortalss#i mean one might argue they dont need it because venti is actually more likely to intervene when shit hits the fan#compared to other archons specifically because of mond's lack of technology and ability to defend itself on their own#but thats a whole other discussion

Why the fuck are there roller skates, dubstep, stage lighting, an LED screen, and all kinds of modern technology in Xilonen's trailer??? I thought Fontaine had the most advanced technology next to Schneznaya and arguably Sumeru, and every instance of high-end technology we have seen leaned more towards machinations with gears, magic, alchemy, essentially fantasy styled sci-fi???
The disrespect towards Native American and African cultures is enough to piss me off already, but it even goes against Genshin's own consistency with its fantastical world design..and for what? Just so you can have this...pop and gamer aesthetic???
Just look at these two bubbly and optimistic characters for me okay

Yoimiya's design isn't the most respectful and accurate representation of a Japanese firework craftsman, but at least you can damn tell she is Japanese. The large ribbons, hair accessories, tassels, leg covering, tattoo design, shoe style, and fabric patterns all allude to this (I apologize for not knowing the exact terminologies for these, this needs further research).
Then there's Mualani who has...what? Please do correct me if I am wrong here, but her character must be inspired by the real Mualani, a Hawaiian Chiefess. Additionally, her tribe's specialty is in tourism and vacationing, which further leads into the idea that she and her tribe are based off of Hawaii despite the known issues regarding Hawaii and tourism (if there are any good sources that summarize the issue, please do lmk).
I am not too familiar with Hawaiian culture, but there really is nothing about her design that reads as Hawaiian, or even just traditional, to me. What about a 2 piece swimsuit with bows and tails, a bow + braids + ponytail hair style, combat gloves (?), and an entire neon shark, is Hawaiian???
The characters, their designs, and their trailers, are just so culturally disconnected from their real life counterpart that it's even disconnected to Genshin's own world building and design. How the fuck is the fashion trend in Natlan denim pants. I feel like the only parts of Natlan that feel like Genshin Impact and culturally inspired are the in-game music and landscapes (God bless Hoyo-mix and the world designers).
#xilonens music in particular pisses me off.#she could possibly break my entire theory that dubstep in music is meant to represent otherworldly power#actually- the fact that the some of Natlan is like this bugs me#it could either be a legit disrespect to their culture by just not having the traditional music as it is#Or it could be the best use of musical foreshadowing this game has ever seen. which would be fucking bonkers and awesome#I have a separate post abt the use of music- particularly orchestra and dubstep#xilonen's visuals n music for her demo is just. wtf man idc if it sounds good it doesnt sound culturally and worldbuilding grounded at all#anyways thats my fucking rant for today#i am so goddamn pissed that they just wont fucking respect these cultures to the point it ruins their own quality#its really damn stupid#fontaine was genshins best designs...then they dropped this next#absolutely fell off#even with the whole technology thing- fontaine with their research and gears and all its so cool#then natlan has vtuber avatars- turntables- led screens- you get the point.#fucking ridiculous#evelynpr genshin#genshin#genshin impact#Im sorry I finally make a genshin post again#and it is this negative...im really sorry#genshin critical#natlan#xilonen#mualani#yoimiya
