ABC News: Senator Ted Cruz Discusses Opposition to President Obama's Newtown Gun Agenda
. Source:FRS FreeState Anytime you are real popular in your party even if you’ve only been office for a short period of time, like in U.S. Senator Ted Cruz’s case and you are a Governor or U.S. Senator, you have to at least consider running for President at that point. Because it might be the best shot that you get and you may never get another shot at it. And if you are a U.S. Senator or a…

Do you think Ted Cruz would have been a better president than Trump if he got elected present in 2016?
I don't know why you want to punish me and force me to admit that there's ANY possible situation where Ted Cruz would be a better President than someone else. It's a mean-spirited thought experiment and it hurts me. But yes, I think Trump has been the most destructive political force in American history and a genuine threat to democracy, so Ted Cruz would be slightly less horrible as President, even if he has a significantly more punchable face (which is quite the accomplishment itself).
That's not to suggest that I think Ted Cruz would be a good President by any means; he'd just be more competent than Trump. But I also think the reanimated corpse of Hafez al-Assad would be more competent than Trump was. I think an empty Big Bird costume stolen from the set of Sesame Street would be more competent than Trump was. I think any individual page torn out of any book in my library would somehow be more competent than Trump was. I think the referees who robbed my Sacramento Kings in Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals would be more competent than.......actually no, I can't go that far and, yes, I'm still pissed about a basketball game from over 20 years ago.

Ted Cruz was forced to admit by Sean Hannity that the transportation of undocumented migrants from Florida to Martha's Vineyard by Ron DeSantis was likely illegal.
The Florida Governor has been widely criticised for flying two planeloads of Venezuelans to the upscale island, where Barack Obama has a $12m home, as part of a Republican immigration publicity stunt.
Mr. Cruz, a US Senator from Texas, cast doubt on the legality of the move when he appeared on Sean Hannity's Fox News show.
Tumblr media
Hannity asked the Canadian-born lawmaker whether he would likely face arrest if he had personally taken a truck, collected inmmigrants from the border, and driven them across the country.
“For you, a citizen, you could easily be arrested, although to be honest Joe Biden’s Justice Department wouldn’t arrest you,” replied Mr. Cruz, who is a lawyer.
Hannity, a long-time public critic of the president, pretended to take offence at that claim.
“Oh no, I’m a conservative, I disagree, they would arrest me, if I was a liberal I would get away with it,” he said.
“Well, that’s true,” admitted Mr. Cruz.
Hannity then asked him if the law was clear on human trafficking, to which Mr. Cruz uncomfortably admitted, “It is clear.”
He then quickly turned his attention back to the White House.
“Right now the biggest human trafficker on the face of the planet is Joseph Robinette Bidden Jr.”
The group of migrants sent by Mr. DeSantis to the Massachusetts island has now been transported to a large shelter operation supported by state agencies in Cape Cod.
Following two nights on the island, agencies are now “coordinating efforts among state and local officials to ensure access to food, shelter and essential services for these men, women, and children,” according to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s office.
The Governor also plans to activate up to 125 members of the Massachusetts National Guard.
Mr. DeSantis has faced widespread criticism after arranging flights for 50 migrants, including families with children, most of whom initially fled Venezuela, arriving unannounced in Massachusetts.
He has defended the effort, pledging that there will be “more and more” to come from a $12m state-funded programme that he has promised to “exhaust”.

We Have Place Wealth & Its Accumulation Above All
We and the leaders we support have made money our priority, our master, our God.
The bible warns us many times to not do this!
"Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” Luke 12:15-21

Put The Blame Where It Belongs!
Put The Blame Where It Belongs!
This morning I saw a tweet from none other than the shameful Texas Senator Ted Cruz in which, without facts or justification, he blamed President Biden and Democrats for rising prices and inflation. I take umbrage with his laying of the blame on the very people who are trying to combat high prices and inflation. Here are some cold, hard facts to chew on … The 10 largest food companies saw their…

Am I Optimistic?
It’s so difficult to not get taken in by the headlines and be depressed, especially if you’re a baby boomer Democrat like me. Conservatives targeting public libraries and their funding to ban books they don’t like Indiana lawmakers ban abortion statewide with few exceptions A 38% approval rating for Pres. Joe Biden, the worst ever recorded for a president. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)  gleefully…

Quote
Student debt also largely didn’t exist in America before the Reagan Revolution. It was created by Republicans here in the 1980s — intentionally — and if we can overcome Republican opposition, we can intentionally end it here and join the rest of the world in once again benefiting from an educated populace. Forty years on from the Reagan Revolution, student debt has crippled three generations of young Americans: over 44 million people carry the burden, totaling a $2+ trillion drag on our economy that benefits nobody except the banks earning interest on the debt and the politicians they pay off. But that doesn’t begin to describe the damage student debt has done to America since Reagan, in his first year as governor of California, ended free tuition at the University of California and cut state aid to that college system by 20 percent across-the-board. After having destroyed low income Californians’ ability to get a college education in the 1970s, Reagan then took his anti-education program national as president in 1981. When asked why he’d taken a meat-axe to higher education and was pricing college out of the reach of most Americans, he said, much like Ted Cruz might today, that college students were “too liberal” and America “should not subsidize intellectual curiosity.” It was the 1980s version of today’s “war on woke”: Reagan hated college students. On May 1, 1970, Governor Reagan announced that students protesting the Vietnam war across America were “brats,” “freaks” and “cowardly fascists,” adding, as The New York Times noted at the time: “If it takes a bloodbath, let’s get it over with. No more appeasement!” Four days later four were dead at Kent State, having been murdered by National Guard riflemen using live ammunition against anti-war protesters. Before Reagan became president, states paid 65 percent of the costs of colleges, and federal aid covered another 15 or so percent, leaving students to cover the remaining 20 percent with their tuition payments. It’s why when I attended college in the late 1960s — before Reagan — I could pay my tuition working a weekend job as a DJ at a local radio station and washing dishes at Bob’s Big Boy restaurant on Trowbridge Road in East Lansing.
The real reason Republicans oppose efforts to cancel student debt - Raw Story

Seven presidential contenders for the GOP in 2024
Former President Trump is still the dominant figure in the Republican Party but his stranglehold is loosening.
Tumblr media
Trump-backed candidates have had a mixed record in GOP primaries so far this cycle, with high-profile losses in Georgia, Nebraska and a key South Carolina district undercutting many other wins.
The work of the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 also places Trump’s role in the insurrection squarely in the spotlight.
To be sure, Trump leads early 2024 polls by a wide margin. But there is no guarantee that the ever-unpredictable Trump will enter the race. And there is a growing consensus among Republican insiders that, if he does so, he will face a serious challenge.
So, if the 2024 GOP nominee ends up being someone other than Trump, whom might it be?
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis
DeSantis is Trump’s most serious rival at this early stage.
The Florida governor has a multilayered appeal. Conservatives loved his pushback against mask and vaccine mandates during the pandemic. He has embraced the culture wars with vigor, including his advocacy of legislation that liberal critics dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
The mere fact that DeSantis sparks such ire from left-leaning voters is almost certainly an asset in a GOP primary.
More concretely, DeSantis is a prodigious fundraiser. He surpassed $100 million in his reelection war-chest this spring.
Some figures close to Trump believe DeSantis could be scared off, and would be reluctant to enter a head-to-head race with the former president.

So to recap (July 2022 edition) we got:
- 4th of July shooting in Highland Park + a shooting in Chicago
- anyone with a uterus has less rights than an assault rifle in the U.S.; right-wing Scotus can get hit by a plane
- Edit: Native Americans have been added to the list of people with less right than an assault rifle in the U.S.
- a third of the British Parliament resigning from various government positions cause of how much everyone hates Boris Johnson
- Edit: Boris Johnson has now resigned cause of how much everyone hates Boris Johnson
- Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan, got shot while giving a speech
- Edit: *Former Former Prime Minister... he got Lincoln’d
- a far-right French politician accidentally pinned the assassination of Shinzo Abe on popular video game designer Hideo Kojima, which a major Greek news outlet relayed, only furthering the idea that Kojima did it
- the war in Ukraine is still going on
- the state of Canada can be summarized by this image:   https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/862558639735046146/995130724791365652/unkown.png
- Hunter Biden got trending on twitter for the hundredth time and nobody gives a shit seriously who gives a shit conservatives get him trending for literally breathing why is this still happening-
- Edit: ... Users of the well known “incel” website 4chan supposedly hacked the iPhone of U.S. President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden and allegedly exposed the both of them as pedophiles, among many other things. Sweet shitting Christ almighty, if this is true, I have been proven incorrect in possibly the most cursed way imaginable, and it is a testament to my willpower and spite that I have not fallen in alcoholism from this news piece alone
- Baymax is a Leftist
- the U.S. House Select Committee began holding live public hearings for the January 6 insurrection and no one noticed
- Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the popular anime and playing card game Yu-Gi-Oh!, passed away (R.I.P., may he finally be free to kick Shinzo Abe’s ass without consequence in that great dueling arena in the sky...)
- the Argentinian economic minister has resigned (an announcement that was made not through any official news outlets, but via a Tweet) following an inflation crisis that is crippling the country, but all you’ll find on Twitter is people excited about the new futbol jersey for the next World Cup (no one is surprised by this)
- Elon Musk backed out of his deal to purchase Twitter for $44 billion; it was believed he didn’t know the meaning of the term “pulling out” so this was quite the surprise
- Edit: Twitter is now suing Elon Musk for not buying Twitter
- the President of Sri Lanka (not to be confused with the Prime Minister, because they apparently have both) pulled a Ted Cruz and has fled the country after citizens stormed the presidential palace in a mass riot following the announcing of the country being officially bankrupt (which the Prime Minister, not to be confused with the President, totally didn’t cause via corruption in office). The citizens involved in the protest then stormed the house of the PM, and took a swim in his pool promptly before sacking and burning the place, thus proving the month of July is truly a Hot Girl Summer
Edit: Both the PM and President of Sri Lanka have agreed to resign their positions; that is two world leader resignations and one former world leader assassination in one week; I now have the sudden urge to drink myself into 2040

Soapbox time. Ted Cruz is white but his mama renounced her US citizenship and failed to register asshole at a consulate or embassy. This is required if your hell spawn is born out of the country. Ted lived in Canada into his elementary school years and was never registered as a US citizen.
Back to Trump, he’s an ignorant rambling racist who doesn’t know anything about politics or government. He also suffering from cognitive decline and is a deranged drug addict.

Only In ‘America’
Yesterday afternoon, just as I was beginning to work on a good people post for this morning, the breaking news update jumped onto my screen … Texas school shooting leaves at least 2 dead I stopped what I was doing and went in search of information … turns out that, as you all know by now, 19 students and one teacher, Eva Mireles, were killed … or let’s call a spade a spade … they were brutally…

Iowa Republicans pick a lot of losers.
Since the caucuses began in 1972, there have been 18 caucus winners between the two parties: 10 Democrats and 8 Republicans. Over half of those winners went on to secure their party's nomination in that cycle, but only three would be elected president.
Ted Cruz won in 2016. Santorum won in 2012.

The author of this poll does not wish to influence anyone's votes, but would like to remind you of the following facts
Vermin Supreme came in 3rd place at the 2020 Libertarian National Convention, two heartbeats away from being a nationally recognized candidate who would have then come in third place behind Joe Biden and Donald Trump (Steve Kornacki would have had to talk about him in front of a map on TV with a straight face)
Lord Buckethead came in 7th place behind former Prime Minister of the UK Theresa May in her district (as pictured here in 2017; he's the one with the black bucket for a head, she's the one in the red suit), and later came in 6th behind Boris Johnson. He is an immortal space wizard, so he's technically a citizen of every country on every planet in every timeline, in case you were worrying about his eligibility.
Santa Claus is the only candidate to have been elected to any office (the city council of North Pole, Alaska), and is a monk, reverend, and democratic socialist.
I was going to include Jeb Bush as a fourth candidate, but I was afraid everyone would pick him as a joke and the last thing we need is another Republican in office. He singlehandedly appointed his brother president in 2000, and endorsed Ted Cruz in 2016; even in a stupid tumblr poll for fun, I would never vote for him or anything he stands for.
