I don’t think you understand, I’m obsessed with this dress… The Garden of Time being about running out of time and Tyla wearing a dress called the Sands of Time… the way the dress was constructed… all the textile manipulation that it went through… the way it was molded after her body so she can never return to wearing it again… she couldn’t even walk up the stairs because it was so closely designed after her body in one position… They cut the dress at the party… the dress itself is so fragile that it can only be held up by her body… she can only wear it once and then they have to put the dress to rest forever! A true sleeping beauty ⏳

The Methodology of Creating of a Personal English Course book in Vocational Education and Training- Crimson Publishers
The paper presents the methodology of designing a personal foreign language course book in Vocational Education and Training where a college student acts not only as a passive learner but also as an original co-author. Taking into consideration the number of vocational specialties in the system of Russian Vocational Education and the necessity of further individualization of the learning process in order to improve the learning outcomes, the authors have worked out a 3-stage algorithm that allows achieving higher results in foreign language learning by replacing the source of parent materials, introducing an exact set of requirements for the selection of invariant course elements, laying an all-time great emphasis on independent and creative student’s work within the framework of the course. The pedagogical experiment that involved the complete 4-year course of studying led to the expectable along with surprising and highly promising effects that were verified thus regarded as reliable.

This is what I got up to last night when I wasn't feeding the dog popcorn. The last time I showed the main menu it was very clunky so I rolled it back to something simpler

out of curiosity, how long does it generally take to design a pattern? like, crochet, knitting, sewing, any of it, really. i've tossed around a bunch directly from my brain but due to The AuDHD i never really ever had a concrete moment of sitting down and intentionally putting together a pattern. i mostly just wing it whenever the urge hits me. fun in theory and in practice, but not a great way to time the creative process lmao
i need to know for uh. reasons. like how long is a reasonable time period to gather crafters together online for charity-related reasons and ask them to come up with something new. those kinds of reasons

I love the idea of Kon getting into fashion design through Ma teaching him how to sow & knot and using his TTK for it
And what if Kon helped Tim design and make his new superhero suit (because Red Robin needs to GO) and it gives Kon the idea to make other superhero’s suits as a business
you've heard of tactile telekinesis, now get ready for... textile engineering?

Challenge for June: Interaction
Hey friends! I'm doing an interest check for a challenge that will emphasize interacting with creators.
Engagement is minimal right now and creators are getting frustrated. I'm looking for a group of people who will agree to interact with creators a few times a week throughout the month of June.
'Creators' include writers, artists, gif-makers, textile creators, audio specialists, etc.
I think even a small group of people committed to interaction can make a big difference. My goal is to have 20 people agree to participate in this challenge. Obviously, more people can take the challenge if they are interested!
Leave a comment, send a kind ask (anonymous or signed), or message different creators 1-3 times per week. Let them know what you liked about their work(s) and the impacts they've had on you. Reblogs are, obviously, encouraged as well.
Remember: every interaction is treasured by a creator!
This will be a self-guided challenge, with weekly polls (using the tag #interactionchallenge) asking whether you reached your goal.
The only interactions that aren't ideal are likes and copy-paste chain asks. This is simply because we want to interact with creators and build communities. Please take the time to give individual feedback and interactions. Tell creators the specifics on what you like about their creations!
Feel free to share this poll! I really want to encourage creators to keep sharing the passions they have spent their time and effort on.
Creators are leaving fandom spaces every day because they feel they're shouting into a void. I hate that for them, for fandoms, and for all of us.
Help me make a difference?

For a really long time now, I’ve wanted historical silk stockings, because they’re just *so fucking cool*.
Tumblr media
Most people probably think of either drab brown and grey wool stockings or plain white silk stockings when they think of Olde Tyme Sokks™️. In reality, they used to be made in all kinds of colors, materials, lengths, so on and so forth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those cherry print stockings are from the 1870s!
The elaborate embroidery at the ankles was were known as clocks or clocking, and originally was functional. It helped reinforce the seams of the ankle gussets back when stockings were seamed and not knit in the round. Later on the embroidery took on a purely decorative purpose, sometimes even being replaced by lace inserts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The really fun thing is that for a long time, beautifully decorated stockings were totally gender neutral. Men embraced floral embroidery and lace and bright colors and wore heels to show off their (appropriately stockinged) ankles and calves. And since shorter breeches were in style for quite a long time before giving way to trousers as we know them today, men had way more real estate for showing off their socks.
What’s even more amazing is that the knitting machine was invented in 1589. No, that’s not a typo. You read that right. In the 16th fucking century, William Lee invented the first knitting machine for the express purpose of knitting stockings. The knitting machine was literally invented two and a half centuries before the first commercial sewing machine.
Really puts in perspective what human hands are capable of, huh?
