seated for watching sinners again next week with oomf but would like to say how…. funny it is people think that remmick is *genuine* in his intentions with everyone in the juke joint. yes, remmick is irish, and has a mutual history of trauma, but this doesn’t change him killing and forcibly turning black people against their will and forcibly assimilating them into *his vision* of freedom (which is another form of domineering subjugation) and seeking sammie’s gift (the manifestation of black culture and community) to do so. and analyzing the nuanced historic dynamics between irish and african americans is key here, too. I like remmick. I think he’s a great villain, and I’m very excited to see him on screen again. however, pretending that he’s so different from the klan and isn’t villainous kind of misses what makes him so scary and enthralling to watch. so much focus on grace being “secretly evil” when y’all should direct it at remmick! anyway, to my people- SHEEP if yall would have went outside!!!!

Since cheetah William is a kitty cat, he has a habit of scratching on things like furniture, and he also can’t fully retract his claws like other felines so he accidentally scratches the shit out of Zeke sometimes too. So because of that I thought it would be funny to draw him wearing cat claw caps that Zeke got for him so he couldn’t scratch anything anymore(however he does NOT fuck with them at all)

Hi! So, update on your SoS propaganda campaign... it has worked frighteningly well on me. I finished the first 2 books in less than 2 weeks, which is impressive when you consider dyslexia is a thing. I'm currently only held back from devouring the third because of the library wait list. Impatience is making me chew on my non-existent shield. I might need to make fan art. Truly, you are a monster.

Bowman of Wellwood by Nina Jamesine

The book Bowman of Wellwood is by @neonthewrite, and it is one of my favourite books ever!! The story is an exciting and inspiring adventure, and it was the first story that popped into my mind when I saw that today's prompt was "Tangled"! 😁

I'd recommend this book to any G/T fan, and I'm so excited to finally recommend this book on my blog!! The size difference interactions are GOLD, and scenes from this story live in my head! I love the characters, and the character development is really well-written! This story has a place in my heart. The book is absolutely worth buying, and I'm glad that it is on my bookshelf!! 😁

Day 16: JOMPBPC: Forever On Your TBR

so i read What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher and goddamn that was good. this is actually the second fall of the house of usher retelling that ive read recently (funny that it happened twice), and i really enjoyed it. the mushrooms were very fucked and to be honest i liked them more and found them much more unnerving than the mushrooms in Mexican Gothic. also loved the large amounts of random lore about the traditions of gallacia. very literally i am not a woman i am a soldier.

I can’t describe how much I love that tv shows are embracing the fanfic version of storytelling that is more character driven than plot driven.

I talked about it with ofmd and now with good omens. plot is needed and plot is good but it doesn’t have to be one epic, convoluted storyline after the other. sometimes I just want fun people being stupid and having a good time (or bad times too cus drama is also fun but I’m a hurt/comfort kinda gal rather than just hurt so I want that happy ending lol).

lotta fanfics are focused on the relationships between characters and the plot is just there to further that.

most mainstream shows end up shaping the characters to fit the massive plotlines, even if that means needing to go against previously established traits, especially when they are a few seasons in and feel they need to always make the next thing bigger and crazier than the last (once again looking at you steven moffat) ((writers of later seasons of supernatural and game of thrones also comes to mind)). that’s fun too sometimes, but i want more of this. slice of life. personal and cozy.
