Omg I keep adding things to TSSW 3, like... Like my brain has come alive suddenly, in a big way, and there's nothing stopping me!
This will undoubtedly push back my estimations about when the third book will be finished, but it shouldn't be by very long, and the game will be SO MUCH better for it!
I've been trying a different premise with this book--less combat and shenanigans, more character interactions and plot development.
Like, the action comes from gaining information, connecting the dots, and touching base with your found family after the insanity that was your last heist.
It's certainly a different pace compared to the books before, but boi do I love it!!!🥰🥰
I hope you guys will enjoy it too!

I love you, “bad” poetry. I love you, “predictable” plots. I love you, fanfic tropes. I love you, “cringe” text posts. I love you, “spilled ink” posts. I love you, posts with “bad” grammar. I love you, posts without punctuation. I love you, margin doodles. I love you, zines. I love you, “basic” art. I love you, creators of all shapes, sizes, and capabilities. You’re all welcome, as far as I’m concerned. 💛

Alright fellas new au time here we go
I’m pressed for time rn so I’m just gonna copy paste what I’ve put on discord but uh basically. Sun n Moon r both deities and also the undercover ‘haha hello fellow mortals’ leaders of their respective temples and Reader is a sad n nervous n shy Mysterious Stranger who joins th temples in search of a new meaning in life,, and yea they all fall in love lol not even sorry
Ok copy paste here we go,
-
Ok I was blanked out on my meds n sleepy when I put this in a diff DCA discord but now I can’t stop thinkin abt it so I’m gonna drop it in here too:
hhhhfjfgfhf gods/deities sun/moon au where they r their own priests and y/n joins th temple to escape their Mysterious Sad Tragic Backstory and Sun/Moon r doing this doublespeak act of being both deities and their own follower LMAO
/
y/n: i guess the moon deity didn't like the offering i left for them,, : (
sun, fuckin SEETHING: aw don't say that! SOME deities just,, work in mysterious ways!
later, moon: just chillin in the Astral Plane or smthn
sun, kicking the door in: MOON WHAT THE FUCK YOU COULDVE AT LEAST SAID *THANK YOU*
-BONUS POSSIBLE READER LORE:-
okay more abt gods/priests sun n moon au.
Y/N is a *former* god- they used to be a small-coven deity, basically like a folktale god known only to the local village, when the people who believed in them turned on them (were they arrogant? did they do nothing wrong and the people were just peeved at their lack of action during tragedy? maybe it was just a slow turning from them being seen as a benevolent god to a spiteful one?? idk) and their temple was burned to the ground and their name forcibly removed from any records. rip y/n's godhood lol
In the process of losing everything that beholds them as a deity, they were stripped of their deity traits and cast to the mortal world/plane as basically Just Another Dude to attone??? ig? idk anyway they go on a life of wandering trying to find a new sense of purpose and then one day come across Sun n Moon's place and r like 'maybe i was meant to be a follower? and not a leader??' and rlly they r just a sad and lonely and confused lil moron

hiiiii!, you were one of the og vidders from LJ vidding community days and i've always admired your vids and skills from afar, so:
12, 13, 26 for vidding ask!
Oooh hiiiii there. You are so sweet! You don’t have to admire from afar! Come sit on the couch with me and we can squee together. You can ask me anything you'd like!! (I love your Andor vid btw, I think it’ll be popping out of my queue any day now.) Most underrated vid that you wished had gotten more views?
I love that 80% of people so far have asked this question because it means I can answer with different vids each time. This is a loaded question, in my opinion, and actually one that shows up on the end-of-year vidding reflections I do nearly every year - and I always never know how to answer.
I learned early on when I looked at the YouTube analytics and found most people don’t actually finish vids they click on in my catalogue, which means maybe they weren’t the audience for it anyway.
It’s also a matter of audiences being able to find my vids and know I’ve made them. I’ve never prioritized learning how to do metadata on YouTube for my videos to show up more in searches. I also am terrible at crossposting and archiving my vids in multiple places for people to find them.. So there’s tons of people who might not even know I’ve made something they’d like to see. Especially since I’ve been doing it for so long and moved through different fannish platforms along thet way.
Here is my Toshiko Sato from Torchwood vid that I made in 2008 to The Ranctouer’s “Steady As She Goes.” I think this can qualify as underappreciated. Hope you enjoy!
youtube
Vid that took you the longest the edit?
Since you know me from way back in the day, I’ll answer this with something I’ve talked about in great before that I think you might like to read (if you haven’t already!): High Voltage, my Stargate Ancients fanvid. It took me ~5 years to make. But I actually spent most of those years rewatching the show and thinking about the song and watching a lot of vids and how they told stories. It took me more time to figure out how to tell a subtextual narrative about a group of characters (the Ancients) and across a 3-show franchise that the showrunners never had fully tied together. You can read more about my years-long experience learning how to make High Voltage here on tumblr as well as over here because I really can write like 6,000 words about it. Any vidding rituals you have?
I always try to export drafts of my vids and try to remember upload them cloud storage so that even in the worse case scenario that my hard drive fails that I still have a copy of it somewhere. I had a hard drive failure recently and I actually hadn’t backed up a lot of those files to my cloud storage so there’s a lot of old unfinished stuff that I love and won’t finish but I don’t have a chance to revisit like a beloved trinket on a shelf anymore. (Archive and backup everything, ritualize that as much as possible in your own lives and projects!)
Also? My vid draft file naming convention: kuwdrafta_vidsong-name[date].mp4 Thank you for the lovely asks!! Get to Know the Vidder ask game! Send me an ask!

@ihni tagged me in a fun new writer tag game: which fic of yours was the most fun to write?
It’s a simple question, but damn if I’m not having some trouble answering it—the creative process is so ridiculously different for each fic, which means what’s “fun” about writing changes from fic to fic. I’m tempted to say The Immortal Game, because it was the culmination of a long and meticulous planning and outlining process; at the time, I had no idea if anything would come of it or if I’d get stuck halfway through and give up, so seeing it all come to culmination (and relatively smoothly, at that!) was deeply gratifying. But then there’s ones like the back of the camaro always smells like cigarettes, which I wrote in part as an exercise in letting go of my usual tendency to plan and question and organize and just let my id run free. And then there’s Young At Heart, which wasn’t planned but where I let it all kind of unspool organically, and then spent weeks combing out all the snarls and carefully weaving the atmosphere and the setting and the themes all together until it made a beautiful braid.
…now that I think about it, all of these are pieces I wrote after a long break from writing, when my old formula (whatever it was) clearly wasn’t working and I had to take some time away, often processing some difficult emotions during that time. So maybe that’s what I find fun—tapping that new vein of emotion and finding some way to make it into a story.
Okay, now that I’ve bloviated on the topic for a while—your turn! If you’re a writer and you’re reading this, what fic(s) of yours was the most fun to write? If you’re a writer, consider yourself tagged in this (and tag me if you respond, I’m interested to hear!). I’m particularly interested to hear from @klove0511 , @writinginthesecrettrees , @introvertia , @skybound2 , @laveracevia , @redmyeyes , @rontology , @keziahrainalso , and @soulless-puppy—tell us about your process!

So I haven’t painted anything in 3 years and I got the urge two days ago so I unearthed all my neglected supplies.
Watercolour is my go-to medium, but they’d all dried out beyond return, so I ordered new ones and used some forgotten acrylics I’d found.
My therapist is insistent that I try new creative outlets - particularly ones I’m not good at - to test my limits with perfectionism and executive dysfunction, which, like… okay it is helping a lot, actually, but does it have to feel so uncomfortable the whole time?
So I’m there painting last night and I’m seeing a new beauty to acrylics and how they don’t blend the same way, they can be so much more precise etc., and I’m now really into the acrylics scene. Meanwhile, I’m currently waiting for my watercolour paint delivery and I’m concerned I’m about to neglect them a whole second time ‘cause I got myself a new acrylic fixation.
Then there’s the added issue of trying to fit this new venture into the limited time left around all my other hobbies (writing, reading, piano, singing, and calligraphy, if anyone’s interested) which feels pretty daunting.
But then I realise; somewhere between taking up this ridiculous amount of hobbies and now, Ive become too preoccupied with the possibilities of my day to remember to worry about the quality of my work.
My mindset has shifted from ‘I’m scared to start this because what if it’s bad?’, to ‘I can’t wait to see what I make today!’ and I didn’t even notice the change.
The things I’m creating might be mostly crap, but I am creating a lot of stuff. More importantly, I’m enjoying the process. And one day the stuff I make will be good, like, really good. And they will never get the chance to exist if I don’t make all these lesser versions first.
I mean, now I have the too many things, too little time conundrum, and I have amassed more terrible paintings than I know what to do with, more badly-played songs than I can remember, and learning calligraphy left-handed is like fighting an uphill battle, but it’s a much more pleasant issue to have than being terrified into inaction.
The point I’m making is:
If you’re fortunate enough to have a good one, listen to your therapist.

Final Fannish Friday! I'm very much not ready for it to be over--there's so much more I want to do. Progress, however, continues to be made. The deadline for JeFFFFFFFFest approaches, so most of my energy has gone into that, with summer swap on the horizon. Everything that doesn't have a deadline soon has been ignored; I really need to be better about that.
love letter Howl (my parts set for now) GDLBO shl rpg (set for now) three of hearts shadow (complete, in beta) summer swap (notes file acquiring snippets) radio (demo made, terrifying spreadsheet made) ghost light (new! complete!) triptych (new! complete!)

Great question! I have several things on, but I was feeling stunted with my vocabulary and poetic creativity, so I started writing Iambic pentameter. I haven't typed it up, so it looks like a mess, but I am very happy with this one.

me: rarely posting despite wanting to post because of stress and anxiety and energy draining everything. also me: resurfacing and posting 900% more in a single day and probably disappear again just as quickly. like a dragonfly or something.
such is the squishy brained life, alas.
I'm still taking Get to Know The Vidder asks over here. The brain is primed for chatting right now and may continue into the weekend. So feel free to send me asks from that list or whatever comes to mind about vidding. OR you can ask me to rec you a vid I've made based on a show or character type or music genre, or you can ask me a question about any of the vids you can find in my YouTube channel or pinned post of vids. Or you can ask me about a vid wip and I'll spin a wheel and drop you the most random vid drafts I have accumulated over the years. OH maybe I can finish some vid rec posts I have half-written or almost finished...I started that list in January. It's June, aahaha.

I make no promises but. I think my writing brain is coming back from the war.
I've written 514 words on Appendicitis Fic in the past 6 hours after a dry spell of almost a month. 🥺
