Daniel is still working on that puzzle

I don’t know art. I know what I like or don’t like when I see it. But I can’t pick out a Monet from a Cezanne. Regarding the arts, I’ve always been more focused on music, theater and film.

So I had no idea that the puzzle Daniel was working on in EP1 was a copy of this painting:

It’s called The Fall of the Rebel Angels. 

Which, hello, Fallen Angeles, aka Demons. 

Claudia mistakes Louis and Lestat for Angels before realizing they are Demons in EP4. 

And Daniel? Well, one of his character’s thematic roles in the show is putting together the puzzle (for the audience) regarding a “fallen angel” (Louis) who’s asked him to come to him for this “interview.” 

In EP1, we saw Daniel struggle to fit a puzzle piece of this painting into its place. 

And then we saw Daniel fit in a piece of the puzzle of a real fallen angel (Louis) in EP7.
