One of my absolutely favorite things about TLK2 is Zira's character desing, her eyes to be specific. Because we all know that Disney always gives their villains (male or female) the most amazing make up and sharpest eyebrows ever, just look at Ursula, the Evil Queen and Jafar, those 3 have eyebrows sharp enough to kill someone with them.

But i still find funny that despite her whole ass desing being so unique compared to other lioness, they still said "Nah, still not evil enough" and smacked some eyeshadow and eyeliner on her, jus look at her eyes:

Girl, what are you putting on your eyes? Because there is no way that is natural and there is no make up in the Savannah. I am not joking,i've seen other lionessess in TLK movies and no one other than Zira has this munch detail in their eyes, not even Sarabi or Kiara.

Make up artists really need to stop sleeping on Zira, because i've seen some reels on Instagram of make up artist painting themselves like Scar but not a single make up video of Zira, they would have so munch fun with her, the fact that there is no make up transformation video of her is criminal.

Zira's early design

Yep, originally Zira was named Bianca, she was Kovu's aunt, not mother (dead already), and she had the hyenas as her allies and army. Here's Bianca's model sheet. And I like this design much more than Zira's final design. Bianca's design fits to TLK universe, but still is pretty unique.

While Zira's final design is a pure disaster (the same thing I can say about her cubs' design). Just female version of Scar. Or as if she was Scar's either sister or daughter. Absolutely bland and mediocre.

Although both share that very same craving for freedom & adventure, Kiara & Binti's preferences would obviously differ when it comes to culinary taste.

(Yes, that's how I named that little birdie from the We Are One song sequence. No, Zazu's waifu of the same name doesn't exist in my fanon.)

Outsiders and Zira never existed

In my previous posts I studied one of many earlier scripts of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. If in 1996 scripts Kovu was Scar's cub, who lived with his power-hungry aunt Bianca (while Kovu's mother died in exile), who allied with the hyenas from the original film. Now I found 1995 script pages and notes, where even Bianca hasn't existed. Kovu still was Scar's son and loved Shani, Simba's daughter, but he lived in command with elephant named Brutus, who was power-hungry and allied with the hyenas from the original and forced Kovu to do their bidding — to kill Simba or they'll kill Shani. Brutus wanted to make Kovu (as Scar's son) to be his puppet and to rule Pridelands.

Zira/Bianca and Outlanders never intended to be. However, both 1995 and 1996 dcripts stated pretty clearly that Simba had no idea about Kovu's existence, hence he was born either after exile or in other place.

Comparing 2003 Tenma to 2009 Tenma is like comparing Kovu to Nuka (characters from The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride) in terms of physical appeal.
