"why don't we see laurent's schemes in kings rising? why does he act so helpless, like a puppet?" idk maybe because laurent & damen are no longer friends for the entire first half of kings rising so laurent is back to being completely alone and after prince's gambit he has no idea what to do without damen beside him. maybe bc laurent is not actually the domino master of the series. the regent is. maybe bc laurent is (canonically) behind in the game and the only reason he ever had a chance of winning is literally bc not him nor his uncle can ever predict wtf damen is going to do next. this is textual btw i am not making shit up. just as the "captive prince" is both damen and laurent, the "prince's gambit" is both laurent's and damen's gambit.

A snippet from the Divorce AU, where Maddie and Jack find out Danny’s secret and react in very different ways.
-------
She loved Jack, she really did.
But she couldn't abide this.
She raced to Danny's side, took only a moment to hold his limp hand before she was reaching for the needle and thread on the side table.
"Mads..." Jack tried.
"Don't call me that," she bit out.
She stitched in silence, as fast as she could, Danny's core shining from behind his lungs and glinting off her needle.
There was no point in arguing, they had gone in circles more times over the past week than she had bothered to count. Still, she hadn't expected him to do this.
When she finished, she undid Danny's restraints and hefted him up into her arms (her baby boy, so light, so bloody), and when she turned to leave, she only spared Jack a single passing, scathing glance. He had the audacity to look worried.
As she climbed the stairs, she called out, "Jazz, get your things, we're going to a hotel." She didn't know what they were going to do, but getting out of this house was where they'd start.

Jeeves & Wooster Series Books
Before you read / problematic bits; racism (usually sparce but like one whole book, those who saw the TV show know, surrounded blackface which was literally mostly seen as out of date in the context of entertainment at the time written so ???), sexism (bit less sparce, bit more up to interpretation of reader sometimes), weird marrying your (not blood related) cousin (Florence Cray) and the weirdness is only acknowledged by Bertie once but no one else gives a fuck ig??, fatphobia (probably the most consistently reoccurring), ableism and mental health used for comedy (also pretty consistent and fucked considering how horrid conditions were in the "looney bins" referred to)
Jeeves is an ass early on! He's a manipulative bastard and not always in a "cute" way :[
Bertie often critiques/corrects Jeeves's sass, tone, repetiveness, and lack of emotion/outward sympathy (though this goes from frustration -> silly banter -> curiosity -> acceptance later)
Jeeves said Berties's only flaw is his inability to cope w/ unusual situations (not counting his "mental neglibleness")
Jeeves once compared Bertie and all employers to a horse in need of management
Bertie has compared Jeeves to; a dog (that saves its blind owner from falling off cliffs), a mother, a father, an aunt, a Nanny, Napoleon, a General, "Domestic Mussolini", a Greek God or smthn of the sorts, a gazelle (the explanation behind this is very gay), a parental sheep (and himself the lost lamb), a sheep (himself the shepherd)

I think part of the reason why some people have so much trouble with jason being given his due as a competent antihero, and his morals, is because most of the time (if not all), they’re emotionally attached to another (or every other) batfam character. and what I mean by that is, they can’t lend jason any rightful credit because the characters they like won’t do it either

 What is your wildest headcanon?
okay, after consulting vee and discovering what a headcanon actually is, I have decided my wildest headcanon is that matty exclusively takes things out of the oven with one of those ridiculous lobster claw oven gloves. why? I have no idea. but I just see it.
(the gloves in question)
💡How many WIPs do you currently have?
oh god let me go count. okay so about 16/17 wips currently lmaoooo. and that's not counting me considering doing valentines prompts... I can't stop thinking of ideas and then NEVER DOING THEM. (also not including the 60+ asks in my inbox that I wanna work on...)
ask me a question if you want :))

So the past few months I've been slowly working my way through the will trent books, buying them second hand has been super easy and. I'm currently trying to read Undone but APPARENTLY the copy of it I bought has literally got the story up to page 258, then there is a REPEAT of pages 227-258 and then the story continues from 291 onwards.
What am I supposed to do with that? I feel like thirty pages is a fair amount in a crime/mystery book right?
I'm just going to have to find another copy of the book bc like? What am I supposed to do with that?
