still can't wrap my head around how perfect Meet You At The Blossom is for me personally and that it actually exists and is airing in real time and i'm not making it up or hallucinating. it dug up a mine of my most favourite things:
wuxia
crossdressing and gender fuckery
gay gay queer gay
morally grey cold poor little meow meow lead who is also a huge bitch
sunshine slutty bisexual main
very very funny and easy to watch
beginning basically as a romcom set in ancient times
-10 braincell squad
love at first sight
aphrodisiac fucking
proposals
codependency, "i will make the world suffer if he is taken from me"
"you can take my life if you want"
main character going through horrors of his lover's making
a beautiful man being chained up
slow build up to the kiss
vibrant colours, high quality, care in every detail

There is something sad in the flowers associated to Jax. Columbine (foolishness) and, especially, meadowsweet (uselessness.) Is this how our boy feel in this AU? Or how do others view him, other than an tansy and amaryllis rhododendron? If the former, why does he see himself as useless? Especially considering your fanfiction, that he wants to do something that stands out…
YOUR WORK IS SO YUMMY! I could eat it. I wonder what your work tastes like. I hope I don’t die because of food poisoning because of the experiments, though! And keep going with it! It’s so good!
Hearing interpretations of those flowers is my favorite thing 💕
Jax has a complicated backstory of bad deals and feels the need to prove his place in Caine's lab (He'll deny any accusations though) and show off his skills even at the cost of others or his own well-being. Everyone in that lab knows Jax is smart but foolish in the way he uses his knowledge and in the end, it's all for naught. He has nobody to impress or prove his place to but himself anymore
And THANK YOU!!!! 😫💞

The only mitigating factor in the rancidity of the IWTV fandom is that it's a (very) rare instance of a fan-favorite show whose key male leads ARE actually as attractive as the fans like to insist. (Usually, it's some extremely ugly white British man whose only notable aesthetic feature is being so skinny he's at risk of falling through steam grates.)

Becoming a test subject against their will isn’t all that different from when Whumpee was on their own trying to figure out what was wrong with them.
Same needles, scans and exploratory procedures except now they don’t have try covering it all with a dreadful insurance package and these doctors tend to grin more… which they try to not find unsettling.
No sunlight and a bare cell is something they think they can live with… Because at least now they don’t have to be in charge of if all anymore and most of all… now they’re considered special.

Teds' music taste is so fun to me, and it was not properly showcased in his lab in the live action movie. Sure, journey albums bc the scarabs. But that boy likes Madonna.

okay, Midst is very good, PLEASE listen to it, but also I realized that part of why I am so gleeful about Midst is that it not only features one of my favorite things (unreliable narrators) but also features one of my other favorite things (the narrative standing directly behind the characters with a gun)
case in point: spent the entirety of the episode last week feeling an intense amount of dread because I DID see the narrative standing directly behind the characters with a gun and then this week felt an intense amount of vindication when the gun fired
Rowan has said before that I am way too good at picking up on foreshadowing (I think I am a normal amount of good at it, but also recognize that I seem to correctly predict where things are going substantially more often than many of my friends), but also I am so gleeful that A. Midst does occasionally manage to clothesline me anyway (yes! it's fun to stop dead in the middle of the street due to Events and Revelations!) but also B. the narrative is built to be even more enjoyable when you pick up the foreshadowing because then the narrative is making pointed eye contact with you while standing behind the unsuspecting characters with a gun
anyway, this metaphor is getting away from me, please listen to Midst, I'm having a GREAT time
