The Gen V General Trivia in the X-Ray says that someone painted the woods scenery in The Woods to help it seem less scary/like a mental institution/prison and while this same trivia does mention that the fading coupled with the damage makes it look creepy instead, I do think there is an element of torture coupled with one of confusion to have painted the walls as such

The torture is in seeing a fake version of the outside while being completely unable to access it, always looking, but never touching, smelling, and experiencing it for real, just the constant taunt

While at least some of the other Supes at The Woods likely have delusions, for them, it may be difficult to distinguish the walls from the real thing and as you are held captive longer and longer it could happen even without a disorder that causes delusions, then combine that with it's name also being The Woods while Godolkin has at least some surrounding woods, makes it difficult for those who are unaware of The Woods to understand what an escaping person (like Sam in episode 1) means when they say they aren't going back to The Woods, which works in favor of the lab itself

So yeah, I don't know that this was actually someone trying to provide a kindness, even with the cartoon characters added in (Like what if Black Noir was there? Those cartoons are part of his delusions, that would likely be so confusing to him if he was locked up there)

I was so worried...

That Jordan would be afraid of/angry at Marie for what happened with Cate (not that they had a reason to be but tv shows love to pull dumb drama like that), based on the shocked look on their face. But nope, as soon as Marie woke up Jordan was right there sitting on her bed shooting heart eyes at her. I really think those two are gonna make it.

Marie giving someone a heart attack and popping half cate's arm off for Jordan I'm screaming the second she did so instinctively she didn't even realize it she just reacted from her emotions and I love that. Also I think the reason the episodes are so short and we see a lot of romantic moments between the male form of Jordan and Marie as opposed to the female form is because they changed half the cast and I think they had already started filming ??? And Jordan was supposed to have a twin and reading the articles the story must have changed a LOT, it seems like it was supposed to be a proper college show about young adults as supes navigating that world and relationships etc and then they decided to make it a huge part of the boys story

also i knew that they had to recast some of the characters (specifically jordan,) but idk if it happened while they were filming?? if that is true (if there’s someone who can confirm or deny this 😭,) i feel like that definitely could explain why the limoreau romance arc feels kinda underdeveloped

(also, i just want to say, i’m so glad they did not go the twins route for jordan, not only bc i love jordan and everything about them and wouldn’t change them for the world, but also bc the male twin’s name was supposed to be MARK.

as in, MARK LEE. from nct. i would not be able to take him seriously, i’m sorry 😭)

but it’s super interesting that originally it WAS just supposed to be a superhero show at college and tbh, i wish they had kept that aspect. i’ve said it on here at some point, but the concept of superhero college was sooo compelling to me and we basically had that for like an episode and a half before the show got suuper plot heavy. i wish they had allowed gen v to stand on it’s own first before weaving it so deep into the boys storyline, bc it worries me that once the boys ends, it’ll pretty much mean the end for gen v too since the shows are so intrinsically linked now…

jordan’s favourite thing ever is when marie comes to them with a new game they’ve never heard of and finally gets to sit there like 😍 while their gf goes on and on and on about it for hours.

I currently have 5 long form fics thought up in my brain. If you sent in requests, I'm thinking about them always! If you send in more requests, I'll get to them as inspiration strikes. I work full time and have the brain of a baby so I don't take demands lol <3 but song fic ideas, starter lines, other ideas, anything really!

All I've Ever Known, my Luke's little sister fic, has four more chapters left to be posted, including an epilogue.

Cross The Line, my toxic!ballet Jordan Li fic, has 17 more chapters left to be posted. It's so slow burn lmao but it is fully outlined. ive been taking it slow because its a bit harder to write.

Next to Normal, my punk band/normal college au, is going to be another high effort slow burn fic. I have over 30 chapters outlined, and I plan to do third person following both of them in each chapter (so each chapter will have a Jordan bit and a Marie bit). I've been focusing more heavily on this recently because I feel as though I need to work on conveying characterization through voice in my writing (fjdsaklfsajklaj i am not a real writer lol but like -- characters are hard and so i wanted to work on a story without an oc for a bit). If you have any fun, fluffy college moments that you personally enjoyed or that you want to see in this fic, please please please send them to me! Part of the challenge I gave myself for this fic was to try to incorporate a balance of fun and angst in each chapter. Forcing myself to actually write scenes lol.

Out of the Woods, my throuple fic, is on the backburner at the moment, mainly because I don't feel like I'm quite equipped to write it at the moment. My OCs powers are weird, and the plot is a bit... all over the place. It's doable, I just need to massage the story bits in my brain for awhile.

The Spy Who Loved Me, is the heist/spy limoreau fic that I dreamed up awhile back. It is really more of a vibe than an outlined story, so it's definitely at the bottom of my priorities.

If you were following back when I posted the other throuple fic, no you weren't. dfjskaldfjkal i honestly do not like that fic and probably wont go back to fix it. i like barely even tried.

Each of the long form fics is posted chapter by chapter as I get the energy to write - its posted here, AO3, and Wattpad. I did have someone editing some of my stuff, but they've been busy so I've been on my own for this stuff.

Samemma baby name poll

Shut up, because I am like running a poll so we can vote on the Samemma baby that is currently growing in Emma's uterus.

I have found some typical American names for consideration.

I like Aurora for their baby as it's fun, and I don't think Sam wants to name his child some boring name. Like let's be real. For a boy, Sam will pick Luke obviously, but I guess we'll see what Emma has either at the end of Season 2 or at the start of Season 3. I hope Sam can manage fatherhood, but I think Emma will do a swell job.

Shouts and screams and thumping footsteps echoed. Whumpee knew what the sounds outside their cell meant. Someone had tried to escape. They'd failed, of course.

Whumpee had tried to escape a few times. They'd got quite far - they thought about the feeling of fresh air on their face almost every day. But now they knew the truth - even if they did escape they wouldn't get far.

They were dangerous, that was what the scientists told them. If they left they'd only get hurt and hurt other people, they were just keeping everyone safe.

That didn't stop whumpee from thinking about the outside though. All the people, coffee shops and films and snow. When they missed it too much they thought about the pool of blood, the mangled body of the person they'd killed. It had been an accident, but that didn't matter. They were dangerous. They needed to be locked up.

It wasn't all bad, they supposed. They had a bed and got food three times a day. They even had a beanbag. And sometimes they got to watch films with the others, Cinderella and Snow White and other old Disney films. Whumpee had seen them so many times they knew all the lines.

The sounds died away. Whoever had tried to escape must have been sedated. They'd probably be taken to the white room. Whumpee shivered. They hated the white room with its padded walls and lights that were always on and the never ending loop of piano music.

Whumpee wouldn't run away. It wasn't so bad.

So I did a thing that I usually do- I've never watched the show The Boys, but I saw one post on Instagram about the show Gen V and then decided to look into THAT.

What is it with me getting into fandoms by working backwards and watching the spin-off or sequel first?

Anyway, I think I'm gonna be a Gen V watcher now.

I binged all of Season 1 over the weekend.

Again, what that says about me- probably speaks for itself tbh.

I'm curious to see what they'll do with Season 2.

Also, hopefully I won't have to watch The Boys to understand the second season of Gen V- I personally liked that I didn't necessarily need to know everything from or watch the first show to jump into the spin-off.

Well, yet another show to add to my ever growing fandom list now.
