WHERE SALT REFLECTS THE SKIN

Where salt reflects the skin, two souls lay bare,with their worlds thirsty and their patience draining,they juggle gravity and their fragile airy castles among the mirage of anonymity and identity making love to each other. Demetors and ravens coming to rip their white souls apart, the jungle of security now afar, yet their heart is still full and flowery as they stitch up their own war wounds, as they try to free themselves from being the prisoners of war, they balance and give their hearts out to their amateur rendezvous to carve out a nieche and build themselves inside out, here two souls lay bare, where the salt reflects the skin.

Dinge, die man aus Verzweiflung tut ...

Von den Selbstzweifeln, die einen als Autor quälen, habe ich ja schon erzählt, oder? Besonders während des Schreibens peinigen sie mich gnadenlos: Das will doch keiner lesen ... bisher hattest du einfach nur Glück ... gestehe es dir ein, du bist leer geschrieben, der Funke ist erloschen ... das soll ein halbwegs lesenswertes Buch werden, dafür sollen Bäume sterben?

Was tun?

Verzweifelte Situationen erfordern verzweifelte Maßnahmen. Und weil es heute mal wieder ganz besonders schlimm ist, greife ich ganz nach unten ... auf den Boden meiner Trickkiste: meine “Notfallmedizin” besteht darin, mich daran zu erinnern, dass ich nicht für den luftleeren Raum schreibe - da draußen gibt es wunderbare Menschen, die meine Krimödien mögen und auf weitere Bücher von mir warten. Ja, tatsächlich.

Ich lese die supernetten Kommentare auf Facebook oder momentan auch auf LovelyBooks, wo gerade eine neue Leserunde mit mir startet - oder ich surfe mal eben zu Amazon, wo der erste Band der Schnüffelschwestern nach dreieinhalb Monaten auf dem Markt immer noch ein (für mich) absolut beglückendes Ranking einnimmt. (429, meine neue Lieblingszahl!)

Das sind die kleinen Glücksmomente, die mich glauben lassen, dass ich sooo schlecht gar nicht sein kann, und mir somit wieder frischen Schub verleihen. Und wenn ich dann erstmal rolle, dann rolle ich!

Schäme ich mich dafür? Natürlich! Wie armselig, denke ich, wie exorbitant peinlich ... und tu’s trotzdem. Ob Dan Brown beim Schreiben auch von Selbstzweifeln gequält wird? Falls ja, was macht er dann? Seine Kontoauszüge anschauen? Mit Tom Hanks telefonieren? Hm ... egal, mir reicht, dass ich heute (nur heute, nur jetzt, aber immerhin!) mit meinem aktuellen Buch ein besseres Ranking einnehme als Dan Brown mit seinen Bestsellern ... 

Und schon geht’s weiter ... die Welt wartet auf mich!   ;-))

Via @writersresource - In Chris Abani's craft talk this year he said that the first 5-6 drafts of a piece of writing are just the notes for what you are really going to write. I think everyone in the room hated him for a second and then I think most of us went home with a greater acceptance of the process it takes to get to the core of what we want to say, what the real story is.
