#Thor keeps thinking this is the plot of some twisted dimension trying to give him a love interest

Isekai where Darcy/Jane hit Thor with their van and Thor wakes up as a precious princess character of some fairytale world. Things progress as they tend to in isekai with some poor romantic interest villain character inadvertently ending up around him. Thor wants to get out of this world so bad and is subtly trying to drop hints for the villain guy to spill info on how to dimension hop. It soon becomes evident that Loki was also isekai’d and is stuck as the story’s villain.

Because I know someone is going to ask for my opinion on the fan game Sonic Omens sooner or later:
Story wise, it feels like the people who made it had a clear beginning and end in mind, but they didn’t take near enough time to flesh things out and better plan how to get from Point A to B.
The whole twist involving the exiled Metarex dude and Chris was clearly planned from the start, as there were way too many hints and foreshadowing starting all the way back in the beginning cutscene for them to just be mere Sonic X easter eggs. It even the uses the leitmotif from the English dub of Sonic X in it’s soundtrack. The problem is that, in my opinion, it and everything else in the story felt like there was a massive crucial chunk of story missing in-between, especially since what apparently happened according to the info dumping dialog later on is something that’s kind-of hard for it suddenly come up as a “Oh, by the way-”
How did Chris manage to safely link his and Sonic’s worlds together, and how did the population and societies from both universes react to this and manage to integrate with each other? That’s a really major event for the story to, again, just go “Oh, by the way this happened-” Apparently traveling between two dimensions caused Chris to rapidly age, leaving him with only 15 years left to live, so he spent it wanting to make the world a better place to the point of joining G.U.N. with the goal of reforming it. Okay, makes sense in universe doing that sort of thing would eventually negatively affect Chris physically, and it seems to fit him post-season 3 to take Sonic’s philosophy to just keep going even when his time is running out. But, they should have done more showing than telling there before and after the reveal near the end. Maybe show a flashback or two, or include more hints to foreshadow it ahead of time.
Apparently Sonic wasn’t even aware that Chris had died until Russian Eggman’s info dump. You think one of his closest friends dying would of have been something Sonic would have learned about pretty quick(no pun intended). Or at least you’d think Chris would have let Sonic known about his 15 years-left-to-live clock ticking away as soon as possible. I don’t think Chris would have left Sonic and the rest of his friends in the dark about something that important. And no, there’s a photo of the two shown hanging out together in the beginning cutscene. So not only did Chris not pass away before the whole interdimensional connection thing happened, but him and Sonic had spent some time together before his time ran out. Again, another thing they really should have spent more time showing or at least hinting towards, instead of just going “Oh, by the way guys-”
I’ll give the devs credit for Chris’ death not being used as a shitty and cheap way to bash him, and in-universe it does make sense, and it was sweet of Sonic to defend him even in death. I just wish they had further elaborated on this whole very major plot point, instead of waiting near the end to just dump all of this onto the story. Would have been a lot more impactful if they further elaborated on it and not just have Chris die off-screen, or not have the big reveal of it told to us in an info dump. Hell, it could have served as a very meaningful way to end the character arc Chris went through in Sonic X. He spent a good chunk of his life wanting to avoid the reality that everything eventually has to come to an end and say goodbye, and now he has to face it himself and come to terms with it. You think facing his impending morality would be a really impactful way to cap off that kind of reoccurring internal conflict. But I guess the concept of your impending death is just an afterthought. I’m almost getting flashbacks to, Thor: Love & Thunder, concerning Shane Foster kind of just being there in the film’s story- despite going through something as major as having cancer and trying to prevent the inevitable(but at least in that movie, Thor was at least informed about it before she died).
I honestly think the exiled Metarex dude was a really interesting idea, and I do think he has an honest to God good character design. I don’t find it implausible at all of there being other seedrians beyond Earthia who also opposed and attempted to stop Dark Oak’s desire to genocide the entire universe. I do like that his motivation is simply because he became disgusted by G.U.N. shitting all over Chris’ hard work after he died(because the government gonna government), and basically just went, “Fuck this place! I’m going home!” But the way it was executed felt more like that one Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode where some dick named Mr. Wong went around ripping people’s dicks off, in order to make a giant dick ship to get back to his home planet, until Frylock tells him to just call someone to come and pick him up. Again, they really should have done more showing than telling with something that’s supposed to be so important to story.
And I’ve seen so many takes on the whole thing with Shadow and Maria, and the many other janky stuff in this fan game’s story. So I’m not going to talk about that because this is already long enough.
And I’m gonna kind of come to bat for the voice actors, here. It’s really obvious that for most of them, English is not their first language. That is especially evident when it comes to the dude who voiced Eggman- you can really hear the accent. I’m not gonna fault a bunch of non-professional voice actors working on a fan game for sounding off or weird especially when they’re doing it in a language that isn’t native to them. Simply knowing what to say in a language is different than knowing how to inflect and fully and properly enunciate in it. This comes down to the higher up devs on this fan game- which I’m going to assume English also wasn’t their first language- making the decision to have the voice acting done in English. I personally think they should have just had it dubbed in whatever their native language was, provide English subtitles, and then possibly have it dubbed in English later on by native English speakers and voice directors who are far more fluent in that language.
I think they should have just dropped the whole thing with them trying to tie the main game canon and Sonic X continuity together, and should have just made it into a fan game based purely off of Sonic X altogether. It feels like that’s what they really wanted to do, but they wanted to have their cake and it too. I think they just shouldn’t have made it into a fan game at all, but into an animated web series instead. They seemed to have focused much more on the cinematics than the game design itself(I didn’t play it but I’ve heard that it isn’t good when it comes to control and level design). It would have given them a lot more room to focus on fixing up and fleshing ouy the story, writing, and questionable characterizations.
Also, I personally find it harder to take more serious moment in the gameplay when you’re blasting the most pure and unfiltered Dubstep in the background.
But at the end of the day, I just see it as another harmless fan game. I do find it admirable when people who set out to make a fan project actually see it through, even if the end results aren’t the best. It’s much easier to start something than it is to actually finish it. Unfortunately it has that whole Patreon controversy attached to it(even though the fully finished game was released for free in the end anyway), combined with the growing “SEGA HIRE DIS MAN THEY CAN DO BETTER THAN YOU” attitude in the Sonic fandom when it comes to fan games and people getting increasingly annoyed by it, and fan game devs either hyping themselves up, or fan games getting hyped up by fans until their expectations make them forget that it’s(monetized or not) something not being done by a big professional team but usually by some people doing it on the side of their mundane ass lives, so if anything does come of it there’s no way it is going to meet those high expectations they’ve set for it.
It had a lot of really good potential, and the talent was there. But they were too damn ambitious, and they should have better managed their ambitions and expectations for what they wanted to do and set them accordingly. As an outsider looking in, Sonic Omens is “just another fan game” to me.

Stuckony Fic Rec because why not
*= series
ATTENTION! LOST ARM (If found please contact:) by Fakesheep-luna Teen, 8k Bucky doesn't understand why everyone is so worked up. He just went out for a few drinks, made some new friends and passed out in a dumpster. No big deal! "No big deal??" Steve squeaks, throwing his hands up in the air "You lost your arm! And you don't even remember how!" "Well, at least it wasn't the good one."
Guys!! This fic is comedy approved! its really good, made me laugh a lot, and the plot? amazing. Go read!
Break In by Tenspencerriedplease 7k Scott Lang, at least, understood why Tony hated this stupid job so damn much. He had a Masters degree in engineering but Tony was working on a PhD. Unfortunately for him even with his previous experience and schooling- good schooling- he was stuck working in a knockoff version of McDonald’s meets Subway. At least he works there until he meets Steve and Bucky.
askfjnsfdjsn aaaaaaaa I love gang AU and this one is Great. Highly recomend!
Brooklyn Boys - Bakey Au* by Quicksylver28 Teen/Mature 27k Tony is a bachelor college professor who walks into Steve and Bucky's Bakery/ Cafe. Awkward Flirting ensues.... and fluff, we wont forget the fluff.
ITS SO SWEET! Pun intended. Gosh, I wish I could eat all those baked goods. Sounds delicious. Anyways, the fic is sweet. Peter is a good friend.
Bruises and Drunken Heart Tattoos by Akira_of_the_twilight Teen, 6k An older man in his thirties was standing over Bucky with a bottle of aspirin in one hand, and the fingers of his other hand still gripping the rim of the cup he’d set down on the nightstand. Amber eyes blinked at Bucky in mild surprise. The man’s lips curved into a teasing smirk. “I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
I wanna hug Tony so hard over the course of this fic. It’s cute the way they fall in love. And it’s also funny.
Canvas, Ink & Paint* by Ficlicious Teen, 11k Bucky's got one goal: to rescue a captured SHIELD agent and get out before the guards realize he's not one of them. Unfortunately, apparently he's also got soulmates, and when their messages and sketches start appearing on his skin, his mission becomes a complicated mess of trying not to get caught covered in their ink.
!!!!!! I love soulmate aus and this fic is one of my favorites!! Poor Bucky, tho, he was just trying to do his work. Go read!!
Carrier by Just_another_tinker Explicit, 49k Steve and Bucky gift Tony with their jacket that survived from the 1940's. Turns out that wasn't the only thing that survived.
YALL. SO. MUCH. ANGST. and with a happy ending? someone said Pining? PERFECTION. I love the group dimensions in this fic.
Comic Books and Kings by Ashes0909 Explicit, 10k Tony Stark read Captain America comics and everyone knew it, but it was only ever about Bucky Barnes.
Freacking great! Tony having a crush on Bucky before his crush on Steve? Godsent.
Coffee Love* by Syriala Good, 8k Tony thought his best day was when Steve walked into the coffee shop he was working in. That was until Bucky came in a few days later.
The fluff!! The flirting!! Their kind of pining! *heart eyes*
Cried For Love (Can’t Stand It) by Potrix Explicit, 7k Bucky braces his hands on his hips, and tilts his head to the side, expression caught somewhere between anxious, confused, and nervous. “Well, shit.” “Yeah,” Steve agrees, worrying at his bottom lip, and rubbing at the back of his neck. “That can’t be good.”
Steve and Bucky become spirits and Tony blames himself (which he shouldn’t but thats Tony for you). I love this fic a loooot! (and i wanna hug tony a loooot too)
Difficult Conversations by Yumekiumono Mature, 34k HYDRA had brainwashed their Asset into silence, and then muzzled him to boot. It's not that surprising that Bucky no longer considers talking to be one of his strong suits. So why does he keep having to have difficult conversations? Or, the road to loving Tony Stark is never an easy one.
!!! Man! Tony/Bucky is strong in this fic, but also Steve is there and he is cute. Ive read some WinterIron fics with a similar plot, but the fact that this is Stuckony makes it 100% better.
Don’t Say It by Bibliomaniac Teen, 35k Tony Stark is autistic and nonverbal. Which is fine, obviously, except for it means that Steve and Bucky don't have his words, and it only takes him a few minutes to decide they don't need to know he has theirs. That's also totally and definitely fine, until he goes and falls in love with them.
So. Fuckin. Good! Soulmate au. Its a must read fanfic. For real. The pining and the angst. Gosh, Tony is the best fuckin person. He doesn’t deserve all this pain.
Eagles by Spqr Teen, 6k Natasha presses her hand over her heart, and – Tony has heard rumors, that her skin is blank, or that she killed her other half, but he doesn’t believe them. “They deserve to know, don’t you think?” “They’ve been together for ninety years, Nat,” he says. “They’re practically married. There’s no room for me.”
Gosh!! Another soulmate au. Me addicted in them? yes. This one hurts more. I think i really cried while reading it. But has a happy ending so its worth it!
From Winter’s Cold by 27dragons Explicit, 64 Thanks to one of Thor's crazy stalkers, Tony finds himself stranded in the past. If he significantly changes the course of history, he might never get home again. The choice, when it appears, turns out to be not nearly as difficult as he might have expected.
I simply love this fic. One of my personal favorites! Tony is taken back to 1945 and he finds no one other than.... Bucky. Go read!
Liebestraum No.3 in A Flat by Daecyan_Shikoba Teen, 10k I humbly request to the pianist: Liebestraum No.3 in A flat
Im actually just doing this rec because of this fic. sfdjnsdkjfsn i love it SO much. Pianist Tony has a crush on his neighbours and has anonymous requests to play the piano. Its great. This fic is so relaxing to read.
Long Distance by Notevenclosetostraight Explicit, 44k At the end of a bad day, Tony gets drunk and texts Rhodey all his woes. Except he typed the wrong number, and has been texting someone named Steve– who is blond, 28, teaches art and somehow charmed by Tonys drunk rambles.
Go read!!!!!!!! Its cute, full of sexy times and fluff.
Hands by ezazahaz Teen, 1k He pushed harder, feeling the suit start to crack under his metal hand, the arc reactor giving way. Just a bit more force, and it might push through the grafted skin and false sternum that had replaced the device that had once been a part of the man. This time, instead of saving the man's heart, it would crush it, and he could never hurt Bucky again, never hurt Steve again. Bucky has a nightmare.
I know this one is smoll. But! it’s full of emotion and hurt/comfort. It’s cute. Mostly Bucky/Tony
Hollowness by amobisan Explicit, 63k It feels like a hollowness, when Tony first realizes. First sees. And the first thought, the first thought his useless, traitorous, genius brain can come up with was "At least this time when he leaves, it wasn't your fault."
So. Many. Feels. Tony is so selfless and sad it’s painful. But there’s also so much fluff!!! And a Lot of sexy times.
How Good You’ve Got It by Orphan Account Mature, 2k Tony was only trying to work on deciphering Loki's power signature, which admittedly what Steve would call 'poking an angry brown bear with a pointy stick'. But if he could just- Shit. It wasn't supposed to do that.
Goddamn. One of my favorite fics!! I’ve already reread this like, three times. It’s small, I know, but the plot? Incredible.
Me through Him to You* by sahiya Teen/Explicit, 71k “You’re sick, you need someone to look after you. This mission could take a couple of days, and I want you in one piece when I get home.” Tony sighed. “Why do you care?” Steve’s mouth twisted unhappily. “I hope that’s the fever talking.” He stepped closer. “When I get home,” he said, so quietly that Tony didn’t think even the nosiest of their nosy friends could hear it, “we’re going to talk, all right? Until then, please let Bucky look after you. Consider it me looking after you, through him.”
First fic: sick fic, sick fic, sick fic!! Fluff!!! Love! Second fic: all. the. angst. you never knew you needed, with ahappy ending, tho.
Not Like That At All by Catchclaw Explicit, 8k One last gig. That’s what Steve tells himself this'll be.
Hilarious! I s w e a r it’s so funny. I mean- theres a lot of smut that happens but the end? comical. And sweet. Go read!
One Date Wonder by Arukou Explicit, 20k Every week, the same guy comes into Steve and Bucky's diner and every week, he's got a new date on his arm. Guy just can't seem to catch a break, and after a particularly bad date, Steve and Bucky start taking matters into their own hands to help him out.
Sweet, cute, fluffy! Poor Tony I want to hug him :’( Amazing Diner!Au, a must read.
Pretend You Don’t Know Me!  by Aknightofagoodking Teen, 16k Peter forgets that his class is taking a field trip to Stark Tower. Tomorrow. ["So you want us to pretend we don't know you that well?" Mister Stark asks, looking somewhat unhappy. "Yes! Exactly! Pretend I'm actually just an intern. Can you do that for me, please?"]
Ok, so this focus more on Peter. But Stuckony as Peter’s dad? Isn’t that just the best thing in the world?
Scientific Heresy by Antigrav_vector Mature, 34k In the process of running the particle accelerator in his basement and fixing the arc reactor, Tony finds himself flung into the past where he has to take on a fight not his own if he wants to get home to stop Vanko. At least he had a chance to replace the old rector that had been killing him with the new one before everything went sideways... But now he has no choice but to face off with family, friends, and old heroes, and none of that sounds remotely appealing. Well, okay, getting to meet them all during their glory days kinda does.
AAAA Ok, I love time travel stories, so i might be biased a little, but this is the best!! There’s a lot of action scenes which are great and engaging. It’s a must read.
That Damn Flight Suit by Orphan Account Explicit, 2k James and Steve make a very interesting discovery about what really is under the Iron Man suit. Cue awkward boners, oblivious Tony, and slightly possessive super-soldiers who really don't want to share his...assets... with the world.
I mean- It’s smut.
The Sex Shop Around the Corner by sadieb798 Mature, 16k Tony really hates his job. When he tries to figure out what he wants to do next, Tony decides that instead of making weapons for war, he should make things for pleasure. So he decides he's going to open his own sex shop.
cmon, tell me this isn’t the best au out there. skdjfsdkfsn but for real tho, the fic is full of fluff, some pining and kind of a mis communication? perfect.
The Shirt by Sailorchibi Explicit, 3k How an impulsive decision that Tony made at sixteen and an equally impulsive decision that Tony made at forty-three combined to have the best outcome ever.
Smut. Again. But its damn good as well.
The Stories We Write by Notevenclosetostraight Mature, 33k A question at an interview leads to Steve and Bucky discovering fan fiction, and after piles of coffeeshop au's and fake dating tropes (and screaming over ABO fics) they find an author that writes some of the best fics they've ever read-- reader inserts starring a dark haired, dark eyed male reader as their shared love interest.
This fic is so freacking amazing!! Steve and Bucky are such nerds. Tony is mostly unaware until--
Thats it!!! Hope you enjoy reading them all :) If you want more, you know where to find me ;)

MCU Loki TV Series
As a long-suffering fan for coming up to seven years now, I'm not sure how to take this news. Tom Hiddleston's invovlement gives me hope because nobody really loves Loki in this incarnation as much as Tom and I don't think he'd sign on if it was going to be total crap. There are a lot of untold stories of the prequel variety that I'd be ok with but equally I don't want THAT death to be his last moments in the timeline of MCU canon because even months later it just still feels so cruel. As in, I don't mind if you wanted him to die but *that's* how you decided to send him off Marvel? I'm also fine if they introduce some stuff that they've kept away from in the films until now such as Loki being gender fluid and his sexuality. I'm not sure if Disney would have the stones but Tom seems to be on board if his recent comments at ACE are anything to go by. However, I also feel that Tom's portrayal deserves more nuance than the "lol daytime-drunk dumb floozy" intepretation that has been popping up semi-regularly since Ragnarok. I don't mind people having fun/joking/shipping/etc - I mean the people who seem to be 100% serious with this view and I think...seriously, after everything Tom's done THAT is your main take away regarding Loki's character? I don't want Loki to be a ball of miseralbe angst forever but I don't want him to be a two-dimensional joke either. I guess I just want more clever scheming, more trickery, more getting into trouble and being both the cause and solution to his own problems. And much as I love Thor too it will be nice for MCU Loki to be completely his own character and get a moment or two where he isn't defined by or becomes a part of Thor's revenge plot(s). It'd be nice to see him not dying just to give Thor more pain and motivation. JiM and Agent of Asgard are great but I'm not sure if they'd work in the same way on screen the way things are. Those story arcs were rectifying the fact that until fairly recent Marvel history Loki had been 100% a flat cackling villain in the comics and his child incarnation was a way to give him more dimensions before the MCU did. And of course Tom's Loki does have more dimensions as well, but the comics actually started it a year or two before iirc! I saw someone suggest that Loki could be haunted by an older version of himself in a similar way only it's more an echo of what he could become had he not gone through some of his recent character development. Perhaps he feels guilty as well - after all, reformed as he is, he did still kill a lot of people. He will also still be feeling guilt over being unable to prevent his mother's death. I suppose I'm cautiously optimistic and shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. A part of me can't help but think it's Marvel trying to shut us all up though because we in his fandom seem to be mostly vocally unahppy with how they ended his arc in the films. I also get the feeling they might be pissed off that it wasn't the shocking twist they keep trying to market it as - because most of us saw it coming miles off when Loki was left off 99% of the promotional material! I'm really worried Avengers 4 will do nothing to rectify this bad feeling and the TV show is a handy excuse. Time will tell.

My desperate Loki Infinity War theory.
I know that this is grasping at straws, but I’m trying to convince myself that Marvel wouldn’t be stupid enough to kill one of it’s most popular characters within the first five minutes of the damn movie, and in such a predictable way that they’ve basically handed to us in snippets throughout each new trailer. Why would they be so obvious about a popular character’s supposed death scene?
Well, here’s my stupid theory.
It starts out like everyone else’s theory about how things might go down with the Asgardian refugees. Thanos’ ship intercepts them, attacks their people in a devastating way, and gives Thor and Loki almost zero time to come up with a plan.
Tumblr media
Loki reveals that he took the tesseract, for one reason or another (I don’t think that he took it for nefarious reasons) and they send Bruce down to earth using a portal from it. This is why he ends up in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Tumblr media
There is a fight and Thor and Loki are captured by the Black Order. Loki manages to hide the tesseract away within a pocket dimension, but they know that he has it and that he won’t give it up. They can’t just simply take it from him because it’s technically not on him. They threaten him, but he refuses.
Tumblr media
Until Thanos grabs Thor and begins to torture him, threatening to kill him right there unless Loki hands it over.
Tumblr media
Now, some people are saying that Thor is screaming as he is forced to witness the execution of Loki, but I can see Thano’s fingers pressing a bit harder into Thor’s forehead, and of course, Thor’s eyes are closed. He’s not looking at anything. He’s just in agony. Loki is being forced to watch his brother’s torture and threatened execution while being held by the Black Order with Proxima’s spear pointed directly at him in case he even tries to move forward.
Tumblr media
Loki eventually gives in a hands the tesseract over in exchange for Thor’s life.
Tumblr media
Now here’s where my theory begins to differ from the rest. Why would Thanos just throw Thor out to space? Why would he have Loki killed right then and there? Both are valuable. Both know the location of other infinity stones. He also promised Loki that he’d “long for something sweet as pain”, which a few seconds of watching Thor being squeezed doesn’t really add up to. I’m going to throw out the possibility that Thanos orders for both brothers to be taken prisoner, where Ebony Maw will try to pry the information about the locations of the Mind and Reality gems from Loki’s mind. A while back there was some news that Rene Russo was on set. Perhaps Ebony forces Loki to hallucinate Frigga in order to torment him further. But, he miscalculated. Loki’s love for his dead mother urges him to overpower Maw. After defeating him and knocking him unconscious, Loki throws an illusion over Maw and himself to make it appear that Ebony Maw’s beaten form is Loki’s, while Loki takes on the appearance of Ebony Maw himself as he walks through the wreckage to try to find Thor.
Tumblr media
When he does find where Thor is being held, Loki pretends that Loki fell unconcious during the torment and that he (as Maw) wants to infiltrate Thor’s mind next. Thor is hostile at first, until Loki finds a subtle way to reveal to his brother that it’s actually him in disguise. And in comes this scene, because Ebony Maw actually shushing someone else is just weird?
Tumblr media
The two try to escape. They no longer have the tesseract, and so maybe they’ll have to take a damaged escape pod or the Commodore. Either Thor will go alone and Loki will be left behind (either by accident or on purpose), or they’ll try to go together. Instead of Thanos randomly tossing Thor into space without first making sure that he’s dead, this honestly would make more sense to me. Maybe Thor’s escape vehicle, being damaged from the assault on the main ship, crashes and he (or both brothers) are sent tumbling through space. But, only Thor is picked up by the Guardians.
Tumblr media
Loki is either not seen again, leaving his fate a mystery for the time being, or he is picked up by someone else. Maybe Nebula? I think that it would be a pretty dramatic and a satisfying plot line to have Thor and Loki separated, and fighting against Thanos while they each think that the other is dead -- always just missing each other and failing to cross paths. Until they finally do find each other again and cue the water works. It would be even cooler if Thor gets to spend time with Gamora and Loki with Nebula, since their adopted-sibling expiriences are so similar.
Now, let’s be honest. All of this probably won’t happen and it’s just another theory, but like I said... I’d be kind of shocked if Marvel was willing to show Loki’s “death scene” in such an obvious way throughout the trailers. You’d think that Marvel would want to keep the film’s big deaths a complete mystery with how they’re hyping them up, but they keep tossing us little snippets from that scene and now literally everyone is 99% sure that Loki will bite the dust. But why would Marvel be that obvious?
Loki is one of the MCU’s most beloved characters and one with arguably some of the most untapped potential. If he was to die in Infinity War, it would be quite stupid for his death to be done in such a quick, obvious, and unsatisfying way. Maybe they are just simply that clueless when it comes to Loki’s fan base (and sometimes, I really do think that they are), but I like to at least hope that they've wizened up over the years and might choose to make the most of his character.
Try to keep in mind that just because you’ve not seen Hiddleston on set doesn’t mean that he wasn’t in a studio somewhere surrounded by green screen. And just because he’s not been seen in any other clips doesn’t necessarily mean that he won’t be in any at all. Those other scenes could be a massive spoiler. Marvel has also been know it edit characters, props, and even bits of a character’s costume out of scenes in trailers due to them being spoilers. Loki could actually be in that ship with the Guardians and fighting alongside Thor in the film, but they could have purposely edited him out of the trailers.
Just look at the San Diego Comic Con trailer for Dark World (and honestly any trailer for that film. They were all so damn edited) as an example of their jumbling of a “plot twists” in trailers to confuse fans. They made it look like Loki was betraying Thor to the Dark Elves, only to have the complete opposite happen in the film. They like to fool us with their trailers. They like to make us think something is going to happen only to have it turn out to be false. I’m hoping that they’re playing that game again.
Of course, Loki could really die in the scene, but don’t forget that there’s also still a small chance that he won’t.

to memory now I can’t recall by Etharei
Rating: Explicit | Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence
Additional Tags: Time Travel, World War II, Memory Loss, Time Loop, Alien Technology, Identity Porn
Summary: While on a mission storming a HYDRA facility, James Buchanan Barnes touches one of the many strange alien devices collected by the Red Skull. He does this, in fact, twice— in the past, and in the future.
Next thing he knows, Bucky Barnes is opening his eyes in the 21st century, which is full of great gadgets and coffee, and at least includes his old pal Steve. (And, inexplicably, a different Stark.) Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier finds himself in the middle of World War Two, helping Captain America hunt down HYDRA (which is at least familiar), pretending to be Bucky Barnes (which is not), and figuring out the very noisy group of soldiers who call themselves the Howling Commandos.
Comments: This is my one of my absolute favorite longfics in this fandom. It has everything: recovering!Bucky, time travel, tragic comparisons of Bucky’s past and current self, somewhat of a twist on outsider POV (in a weird way), and it is beautifully written and plotted.

Comments: This is typically most people’s entry for the “if you read one fic from this fandom” contest. Funny, clever, sweet, and a totally unique take on Bucky’s post-TWS mindset. Great fun and great sequels.

Summary: It’s six in the morning, and Steve is heading out on a run when he nearly trips over a bouquet of sunflowers on the front steps of his brownstone.
For a second paranoia takes over, and he kicks the flowers a little, waiting for them to explode. They don’t. They also came with a card, which he picks up. The front of the card has a tasteful picture of the Brooklyn bridge at sunset. It’s very nice and sedate, like the kind of card you would buy to give to your boss. On the inside someone has written a short message in big, shaky block letters.
I AM SORRY FOR SHOOTING YOU.
Steve sits down hard on the steps.
Comments: A really inventive take on Recovering!Bucky, with a super rich backstory and a daring characterization.

Summary: “Look, if they catch me,” Bucky muttered, “they’re either going to kill me or they’re going to put me in a box with a little window and—Steve, I can’t.”
Comments: Okay, so if you don’t know @cesperanza, you are in for a treat. Her characterization of Bucky is one of my absolute favorites - he is competent and cool, and she writes him and everything he does so convincingly. That’s the hallmark of a speranza fic: you believe every word of it, and it always feels real. It’s a totally immersive story that continues out into a delightful series. Honestly, you should read everything that speranza has written for this fandom - especially 20th Century Limited.

Summary: A theologian once said that angels are constructs of love and holy rage, and chained to obedience through both. Or maybe a theologian hadn’t said that. Maybe it was the Bright One himself, or just Uriel being grumpy.
But Bucky knows that he loves Steve, and he loves his taskmaster of a boss even as he gripes about him over beers after work, and he loves the dames with their red, red lips and smooth, soft curves (and he loves the guys, loves their strength and the tall, proud lines of them), and he loves old Mrs. Greene even when her rheumatism acts up and she turns mean as a wet cat. But he loves Steve most of all, and if Bucky is shackled to mindless obedience because of it, he calls it a good trade, because Steven Grant Rogers is the best person he knows. When it comes down to it, he figures his desire only adds a new dimension to a love that was already there, glowing hot enough to burn.
He was sent to Earth in a cage of mortal flesh to watch over Steve, and Bucky can do no less than love him with all his heart.
Comments: A great, creative alternative universe story that that takes a difficult premise and executed it perfectly. The changes made to canon are so smart and it maintains the urgency and emotion and tragedy of canon while transforming it completely. And the OCs are amazing.

Summary: "The past beats inside me like a second heart. These fragments I have shored against my ruins."
In which Tony Stark makes a reckless decision, becomes a wanted fugitive, goes on the run with the former Winter Soldier, and learns how to forgive. For his part, Bucky Barnes is just trying to hold himself together. AU, post-Civil War.
(sequel of sorts to après nous le déluge, but can be read alone)
Comments: Love, love, love this story because it’s got Stucky AND Tony & Bucky friendship as well as a really smart characterization of Steve and Bucky.

------
I don’t really know who I am. I do know that James Buchanan Barnes is dead. He’s a pile of bones at the bottom of a ravine. He’s a side bar in some other guy’s museum exhibit that might not even exist anymore. James Barnes would puke if he could see what he became. His parents and sister and friends would cry.
I don’t know what’s left over now, but I know it’s not good. And I don’t think it can ever be good.
Comments: This is the therapy fic. Dreadnought knows his stuff like nobody else and it hurts and it’s so good. You should definitely read this and then jump into his other fic, a WIP called Baghdad Waltz which will tear your heart out like nobody’s business. It’s a modern military AU, and 100% the best one ever written for this fandom.
