been thinking about the differences between SASASAP and ISAT lately. because looking just at ISAT and the two hats ending, you'd think loop went through the exact same house as our siffrin, but looking at SASASAP, it's different. it's mixed up. it's obviously a condensed prototype.

but. that doesn't have to mean it's a different universe entirely.

maybe that's just what happens after a thousand loops.

the house warped in act 5. siffrin lost their shit and the house got changed and corrupted, far past its baseline king uncanniness. so it wouldn't be too out-of-the-question for it to be able to warp in more subtle ways as well, due to a more subtle breakdown.

like a jpeg uploaded and downloaded a thousand times, siffrin changed, and the loops changed. over a thousand loops of efficiency, the house got more efficient. rooms combining. items moving. data compressing. and of course, run in a changed house, the script changed as well. it did so slowly, one bit at a time, over a thousand loops of zoned-out half-listening – and by the time siffrin would have noticed each difference, they were already used to it. (and in the moments that they did look at a room that was less familiar than it should be and realize that they had no idea where to find the key, well. that's just classic siffrin, isn't it.)

through sheer repetition, siffrin was corrupted, and the loops and the house along with them. all purpose lost, all signals distorted, until finally they couldn't recognize the meaning in any of it. it was all noise and despair.

so they made a wish. and the loop restarted. not just a reboot, but something more complete.

the data was backed up onto a star – a guide, a warning, a reference – and the loops were factory reset. and for the first time in a thousand loops, siffrin woke up to a clear mind and the crisp sound of birdsong.

But HP is still in business. Apple is still in business. Google is still in business. Microsoft is still in business. IBM is still in business. Facebook is still in business.

We don’t have those controlled burns anymore. Yesterday’s giants tower over all, forming a thick canopy. The internet is “five giant websites, each filled with screenshots of the other four.”

These tech companies have produced a lot of fire-debt. Over and over, they erupt in flames—in this short decade alone, every one of our tech giants has experienced a privacy scandal that should have permanently disqualified it from continuing to enjoy our patronage (and I do mean every one of them, including the one that spends millions telling you that it’s the pro-privacy alternative to the others).

Privacy is just one way that these firms are enshittifying themselves. There are the ghastly moderation failures, the community betrayals, the frauds and the billions squandered on follies.

We hate these companies. We hate their products. They are always on fire. They can’t help it. It’s the curse of bigness.

Companies cannot unilaterally mediate the lives of hundreds of millions — or even billions — of people, speaking thousands of languages, living in hundreds of countries.

Don't expect to find facts any more on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and other Zuck-owned social media.

Multibillionaire Mark Zuckerberg apparently wants to add even more loot to his enormous fortune. So he has increasingly been kissing up to Donald Trump.

Trump dwells in a universe where any content which contradicts him or disagrees with him is disparaged as "fake news". In such a space, fact checking is considered a hindrance to Trump's firehose of bullshit.

So getting rid of fact checking is a green light for conspiracy theorists, hate speech, and (of course) unsubstantiated Trump bullshit.

Meta is abandoning the use of independent fact checkers on Facebook and Instagram, replacing them with X-style "community notes" where commenting on the accuracy of posts is left to users. In a video posted alongside a blog post by the company on Tuesday, chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said third-party moderators were "too politically biased" and it was "time to get back to our roots around free expression". The move comes as Zuckerberg and other tech executives seek to improve relations with US President-elect Donald Trump before he takes office later this month. Trump and his Republican allies have criticised Meta for its fact-checking policy, calling it censorship of right-wing voices. Speaking after the changes were announced, Trump told a news conference he was impressed by Zuckerberg's decision and that Meta had "come a long way". Asked whether Zuckerberg was "directly responding" to threats Trump had made to him in the past, the incoming US president responded: "Probably".

It's time to get off of META (Facebook, etc.) as it is to get off Twitter/X.

Your presence there just makes broligarchs richer and feeds the Trump messaging machine.

Don't whine that you somehow need Facebook to keep in touch with friends. People had lasting friendships for hundreds of years before Zuck started Facebook to rate girls at Harvard. And people in pre-Facebook times had fewer worries about privacy.

And please don't spew the insipid line: "I don't click the ads there." Clicking ads is not the point. You are giving broligarch social media credibility just by being there. Without people like you, Facebook and Twitter/X are just clones of Truth Social.

Quitting META and Twitter/X in not just good politics and good for your privacy, it's excellent for your mental health.

Try to do that today — say, to make a runtime so you can use your iOS apps and media on an Android device or a non-Apple desktop — and Apple will reduce you to radioactive rubble.

Ive been listening to Amalee's covers of the songs in one piece film red (theyre so fucking great Ado is a queen) and Backlight in particular had me daydreaming about an animatic I'll probably never make ever but i wanted to draw up some concepts anyway. This is the first time in over a year ive done anything for obey me (mostly since i realized i kinda fucking hate gacha games and have felt like there's been a bit of flanderizing with some characters) but i still enjoy the characters despite that.

So my whole concept is pretty much Leo (an oc i basically treat like barbie) is a frontwoman to her own punk rock band who is very displeased with both being forced to go to school again AND being constrained by a monarchy and Lucifer who's practically got her on one of those kid leashes at all times. She builds up enough resentment that she could rival Satan to the point where she does ANYTHING to get under his skin at all times.

When that royal ball in lesson 5 comes around, she's given the task to write and preform a song to show hellborn denizens human music. However they make the monumental mistake of letting her have free reign with little to no supervision as to not "ruin the suspense". She takes all of her anger (which i think Backlight could represent beautifully) and on the day of the ball instead of the classy music fitting for a royal ball, she puts on a rock concert solely to embarrass lucifer. If thats not enough, she originally has her hair in a fancy updo but completley ruins it while singing AND she has him right by the stage so she can taunt him mid-song (as seen in the last 2 pictures)
