i get tired of hunter sometimes, love the guy, love his arc, love his character but i also wouldn’t complain if i saw him less and saw other characters more

I know a few people who dislike huntlow and say stuff like:"this ship is super rushed, hunter has to work on himself, he doesn't understand romance and it is the last thing he needs" but they ship huntric and lumity🥴like you dislike huntlow for being rushed and hunter not being able to understand romance but you ship hunter and edric who interacted only once 🤡 something tells me those are not the reasons why those people dislike this ship, but completely for different ones🫣 and they are afraid to admit. Again i don't have problem with people who dislike huntlow but i have problem with people who drag huntlow down meanwhile shipping edric and lumity. Again every person has a right to dislike or like a ship. And what is so interesting that the majority of people never brought these excuses for amity when they shipped so much lumity and attacked everybody who wasn't a fan of this ship. And also unlike amity hunter didn't have that much problems with morality, didn't harm intentionally willow and gus, even when he got them captured he still tried to fix mistake. He actually owned up to his mistakes and had to learn it the hard way. Meanwhile amity wasnt addressed for her awful behaviour and shifted the responsibility of her actions on to her parents. And she didnt even try to reconcile with willow. She suddenly became a "sofgtie" out of nowhere without getting called out and only around luz. I am sorry folks but this is not a proper redemption. People also dislike willow and gus for not being plot relevant when its clearly writers fault for not giving them episodes to shine, and it is not as infuriating as amity who got a lot of episodes dedicated to her but still ending as a "girlfriend" who doesnt do much. No offense to amity stans and they literally whine all the effing time like why people dont talk about amitys trauma, when it was the only thing discussed during s1-s2, as if all these talks and fanarts about amity wasnt enough. They always bring up amity literally all the time. 

I agree and I’ve discussed this before. I recently haven’t said anything because I want the whole show to be over before rewatching it and having a retrospective to see if anything changes. I have talked about this before though.

I adore Huntlow/Winter and I love that they are still separate and unique characters while being together. I hate the stupid excuse that Hunter isn’t “ready for a relationship” because it makes no sense. A traumatized kid just found people who makes him feel seen, heard, and loved. He also got a crush on someone who ALSO experienced mistreatment and cares so much about him. I can see why Hunter would like Willow and vice versa. I CAN’T see how Luz would like Amity since she’s BEEN bullied and she SAW Amity bully Willow. I have no idea why Luz was all in Amity’s face.

The popular fanon ships are so frustrating because they’ll just ship Hunter w a yt person with the same logic he got with Willow for.

I haven’t seen any Willow and Gus hate but they were literally sidelined to make Amity look good because they know that she didn’t have a real redemption. It makes no sense that Amity got so much screentime just to keep reiterating herself as Luz’s gf but never have Willow and Gus be there for Luz to reiterate their friendship. Hell, even in s1 and Amity was barely there, the fans literally favored her and made so much fanart of her replacing Willow and Gus/ making them background support to lumity. It was literally just “tomato Amity” and “idiot Luz” fanart flooding my feeds. At least Huntlow art has character. Amity needs nothing else.

Then the show damn near goes out the way to have Lumity on one side and Emerald Trio on the other with sprinkles of Amillow interactions to be like “See? They’re all friends 😇”. It’s getting tired fr.

"One of the main problems in TOH is the lack of ideological confrontation between the protogonist and the antagonist.

And you will say "it's not true, the heroes are for free magic, the villain is against!🥺" And yes, that's obviously true, but actually..

Let's think about it more deel. What do we have to start with? A coven system where one witch can use only one kind of magic. And what do we have in contrast? Eda, who doesn't obey the system and refuse to be in it, she can use all kinds of magic. And that's the problem - first of all, Eda doesn't even care about the system, she doesn’t even try to change it, more tham that, the Coven system itself doesn't realy bother her, she barely has any problems bc of that (most of her problems were bc of the curse). And secondly, Eda just doesn't use all these kinds of magic, the Coven system doesn't defining her life, Eda still running away from it not bc this system bothers her, it's mostly out of principle and just to spite her sister. The show just didn't show us why the Coven system is bad, the only thing we have is "it reduces freedom", but who even cares? I mean all laws are reduce freedom at some point, but it doesn't make them unnecessary or even bad. The Coven system doesn't affect on withes badly and we saw it multipe times. Yes, Dana never showed us that wild magic was bad either, since for some reason wild withes "were good all this time", even in the middle ages (but the problem is that we know that they litteraly exterminated all Vee's race, but we don't talking about this tho).

So yes, also we haven't seen the significant advantages of using all kinds of magic over one. Eda defeated Lilith not because she had the ability to use all kinds of magic (they both had tho), but just because she was more talented.

All Hexsquad members have their clear magical specialization, and at the same time they don't suffer from it at all, they are, the other way around, very strong magicians that beat coven soldiers who litteraly can use all kinds of magic without any problem. And Eda and Raine also almost defeat the coven leaders not bc they used many kinds of magic, but bc of the curse.

None of Belos' ex subordinate left him bc they were disappointed in the system or realized that it's wrong: Lilith did it because he lied to her about healing his sister, Hunter did it because Belos was planning to kill him. Others did it bc they find out Belos wants to destroy their world. Do you see any ideological confrontation with coven system here? Me neither.

There weren't shown any reasons why such successful magicians as Rain, Darius and Emberwulf suddenly decided to oppose the Belos system (and no, we don't talking about genocide).

The only time Dana tried to show the advantage of using all kinds of magic over one is the episode when Luz went to school. And honestly it was as ridiculous and implausible as possible.

In conclusion, the only answer on "Why is using of all kinds of magic is better than using of one" we get is basicly "Because Belos is a bad person".

I personally don’t ship Luz and Hunter, but I don’t really see them as “siblings” either. Sometimes it feels like the “siblings” thing is pushed so hard so there isnt any room for people to explore a different dynamic that doesn’t appeal to the masses.

I think writers/creators should keep in mind that not just because you dislike one of your characters means you should throw all of their development and potential out the window and give them unsatisfactory treatment in the narrative.

This started because I saw a line art video, and my deep desire of hunter with cardinal wings got in the way. Ngl a little bit of me died by drawing the wings.

Also, may I add, everyone who had drawn hunter at least five times is obligated to draw him with cardinal wings. It's an order, I'm a tyrant now
