You are not ACAB. You're an asshole

SO this post has been a long time coming and I have sent a rant to several people to look over it for me just so I could get opinions. And most agreed with what I had to say. However it was mean, callous, and too "I'm ok being an shithead" for my taste.

If I am being 100% honest, people hate cops just to hate cops. It's not because there are cops that do wrong. It's just because they are told to/programmed to hate cops. Ok, so why do I say that?

Well a few reasons.

For the past 40 years *minimum* it has been a point of the media to showcase any time a cop does anything bad. Because what better way to "Reach the people" than to assuage them with a "Hello fellow Americans. Doesn't it suck with cops get on our ass about stuff".

Social media has been using bait for years in order to get more traffic to more links and articles. This alone has made rage baiting as an entirety more of an issue.

Because of both of the above, there was a time when alt media *at the time* and social media worked in tandem to constantly show off instances of cops being assholes or outright doing things that were illegal.

So what does this mean. Well it means that you are under a notion that is already provided to you. "Cops are ruthless bad guys that don't do anything for anyone at all".

Except that's not even remotely true. What is true is that often, any positive stories involving cops is buried or glossed over and only ever talked about in very local reports. What's more a cops job is to do the right thing. So when a cop does do the right thing, the understanding is that they are not meant to receive praise. However, that is lopsided in how it works. It more or less means that you are under the LARGEST of microscopes, and if you fuck up at ALL, then you end up as a youtube video that reinforces that "Cops are bad guys" or "Cops are stupid and annoying". Rather than the truth which is that cops themselves are human beings.

Now. I can already see the comment from the shitheads. "ACAB EXISTS BECAUSE-" Shut it. I don't care. Unlike most of you I understand nuance. And more than that, I've had poor run-in's with cops. I have also had to work along side them as private security as well. And my mother, who's not shy about telling people they fucked up, worked as Dispatch and as a Secretary for the PD in the small city we lived in. "Oh well then your brainwashed", you can say that but it does not make you right.

Unlike you, clearly I'm able to think critically about subjects where as you are not. Am I a "Back the Blue" cultist? Absolutely not. I'm solely in the camp of Abolish Unions and hold officers to account for what they do wrong.

However, having said that, Cops duty to uphold the law sometimes manifests in ways that we don't like. Like Uvalde. The cops were in their rights to stop the shooter, but the top brass would have decimated any officer that decided to not follow his order of standing down. I don't think that's ok. Hell that entire chain of command should have faced a lawsuit. But where they DID properly enforce the law, is stopping parents from going in. Because had a parent gone by cops in order to stop the shooter, at that point, it legally could have been considered vigilantism.

Regardless of the moral implications of that, fact is, that's the truth.

So why am I making this post? Mostly because ignorant people exist in this world and their only reason for living at all is just to hate. "All cops are bastards"? Are you so sure? I wonder how many people in the US over the past 100+ years have been saved by cops. I wonder how many kids have been rescued from abuse. I wonder how many women have been saved from rape. I wonder how many kids have been save from gang violence or drug dealing.

Saying, "All cops are bastards" is no different than saying, "Yes all men". Functionally you are saying the same thing. And while you may say, "Hey that's not the same one is an immutable trait and the other is a job", to which I'll say, sure. Except you are making a gross generalization. Which IS the same. And ignores every single decent, good, great cop that exists out there. And every single good cop that has ever existed.

In my last post talking about this, I stated that people that are ACAB don't really hate cops. They just hate that they can't break the law without consequences. And I still believe that, but let me add a bit of nuance to that.

Most of the people that hate cops are programmed to hate cops. Because, like the media does, it picks something that will engage you, and will put it in front of you any way it knows how to. There are also a lot of people out there that hate cops because they can't break the law. That's also very true.

However there is another group that exists and it's Anarchists. Now, I have followers and people that I follow that are Anarchists. And while I view them as different from Tankies, Fundamentally they share the same, "Ideal Utopia" idea. Which is that, "Under my ideals, the world would be better". Except it won't be. It will be warlords and dictators forming groups. Assuming that we don't get taken over by Islamic Extremists, China, or the UN. Their ideals aside, they hate "The State" in all it's forms. And if you are fine with any form of "State" they will quite literally go off on a tirade of why you are a bootlicker. *Sigh*

Now, the last of these groups is just people that either 1) Do not understand what goes into being a cop and just hates them based on baseless notions, or 2) People that have had bad run-in's with cops and take that notion out on ALL cops.

So for these last two sets, things are difficult to deal with. Because they will go out of their way often to not care about how hard it is to be a cop. What do I mean?

Well for starters, cops are expected to be perfect at all times.

Perfect Aim

Perfect knowledge of all laws both federal and local

Perfect judgement at all times

Perfect execution of force at all times

Perfect response at all times

Perfect awareness of surroundings at all times

Perfect ability to listen to the law but also not piss off people breaking the law

And I could go on. Humans are fundamentally imperfect. They always will be. So expecting a cop to be perfect is like asking your SO where they want to eat every day for a month and them knowing right away. Unless you're a LIAR it's not going to happen. Same such, cops can't be perfect. Combine that with having to both uphold the law AND be sure to follow the law at the same time, then combine that with the dangers of the job, the fact that human beings are ANIMALS that are violent by nature, and unpredictable on top of which, with use of force laws. And yeah. You don't have a good time. It becomes a huge issue of people that are like, "Why didn't just just tase him?" or "Why didn't you just shot the gun out of his hand" or better yet, "He only had a knife and was threatening to kill someone. Why'd did you have to shoot him, you are not judge jury and executioner."

And that's where you are both right and wrong.

Right in the fact that they are not a Jury. Wrong about the fact that they are not acting in their capacity to judge a situation, and execute those that are too great a risk to subdue. And if you ever talk to a person that does MMA, subduing a person is not as easy as you think. More over, Tasers are not considered, "non-lethal". In a lot of cases they are considered lethal because you are delivering a shock, meant to incapacitate someone. Meaning that you have the risk of permanently injuring them, OR killing them if their heart stops. Hell you could also in theory turn them into a vegetable.

But sadly no one considers all of these things. And only people familiar with cops and how their jobs work, know any of this.

Am I justifying bad, or even evil cops with this post? No. I think cops fundamentally need more training. I also think that they need frequent psychological evaluations to see the effect of the work on them. Because some of the things you see in your capacity as an officer can be gruesome. Dead bodies. People that have been mutilated. Dead kids from drugs or gang shootings. And the list goes on and on and on.

Recently I made a post talking about how since the summer of 2020, there have been less good cops. And fact is, because of the 2020 riots, a lot of good cops did quit their jobs. That's a fact. Many actually put in for early retirement. And not because "They were being held to account". No. It was because they were told, "If you do your job, we will riot outside your station. Firebomb your cars and homes, and we will find a way to railroad you into prison".

So what do we see in NY and LA? Car break ins. Looting. Beatings in the streets. Cops that will literally stand down while people are being hurt. Why? Because why the hell would anyone be a cop when you are under a microscope SO LARGE, that even the SMALLEST twitch in the wrong direction could end your career and possibly your life.

It's easy to say, "Yeah I'd stop those looters and assaulters". Sure. Right up until the are a protected class. Then enjoy your media crucifixion, loss of work and likely stint in jail. As well as your family getting death threats for years to come. So given all this, I made a point that a lot of hires over the last 3 years have probably been scraping the bottom of the barrel. Because in truth, knowing all the above, why WOULD anyone be a cop? Certainly there are still good cops. But a lot of the good ones quit.

What's more, Now a days it's better as a cop to just NOT enforce the law. Because why risk everything I mentioned. You protect the law and you make the conservatives happy but piss off the woke. And the woke currently more or less control law and media. Good luck getting shanked in jail. If you don't uphold the law, you piss off people who want you to enforce it but you probably get to live another day.

At that point you may say, "OK so why be a cop at all then", and the answer is easy. It's a job. And it pays. Why excel at all when you are expected to be a bastion of perfection? What's that? Didn't use the PERFECT amount of force? Death Penalty. Oh? You shot a guy that pulled a gun on you and you didn't just take the shots to the chest? Well clearly you deserve to be put in jail for the rest of your life.

Cops are treated like they are supposed to be absolutely perfect at all times and it's stupid. I HATE police unions mind you. But you know what I hate more. People that have no idea the risk to their lives that cops are put through day to day just for putting on the badge. The fact that cops NEED wiggle room within the law in order to enforce it.

Remember "Hands up don't shoot"? Yeah. So do I. I also remember that it was a fucking lie, and that there are people to this day that still believe that lie. And if not for Police Unions, he might have rotted in jail for the rest of his life. There is no PEFECT in this life. Not for cops, not for anyone. Cops are not superheroes. They don't swing in on a web shooter and punch the bad guy JUST hard enough to knock him out without killing him. And with morality as fucked up as it is in the west, even just in the US, Law enforcement is in a no win situation. At all times.

But I want to find every person that has ever been saved by cops, and force you to tell those people that all cops are bad. And tell them about how whatever they were saved from doesn't matter because "ALL cops are bad". Tell the women that were possibly saved from rape, "You should have just been raped. Cops are all evil." Or tell the kid that was saved from the person that kidnapped them, "Yeah no, you should have just been a sex slave. Cops are bastards and clearly they didn't WANT to help you". Stop making assessments about ALL of any group of people. Because the likelihood that you'll be right is near zero.

There are good cops. And there are bad cops. Police Unions need heavy reformation. Accountability needs to actually be able to happen. And people need to understand how hard cops actually have it. All of these things can be true at the same time. And none of it is justifying evil or bad cops or even ones that don't enforce the law. It's a nuanced topic. And as such, it should be treated so.

Not a crush (Pedri x Reader)

**I got this request and thought it could be cute and fun. It’s true that the Spanish press has been talking about this arms situation a lot, so it’s a good blend of fiction and reality. But then it turned into one of those writing projects that changed 7 times before its final form. For a second I even thought about turning this into a series. My brain! Anyways, enjoy reading! ❤️**

“All those years in uni to end up doing this”, you muttered. “I’m never going to be taken seriously”.

“What are you talking about?”

“This article I have to do”.

Your colleague Jordi moved his chair closer to yours to peek at your computer screen.

“You know that we can’t use the computers for personal stuff, right?”

You put your head on the table. Really, no one was going to take you seriously.

“Huh?”

“Why are you looking at photos of shirtless Pedri? Got a crush?”

“Shut up! I have to do an article about the evolution of his body in the last couple of years”.

“That’s cool”.

“It’s stupid!”

“I’ve done worse when I was an intern. Don’t be so negative”.

You guessed he was right. It could be a lot worse. And you didn’t have a crush but…there were worse ways to spend a Tuesday afternoon than looking at photos of a cute player. And being given an excuse to stare at his body, which had definitely changed in the last couple of years. You didn’t visit the gym much but liked it when others did. Especially if that was the result of their gym sessions.

Writing the article actually took a good chunk of your day. Between getting the right photos and videos for it and asking for permission to use them, the actual writing and your colleagues' stupid comments about it, it wasn't as easy as you thought it would be at first. But it was a good article. And once the editor saw it and was happy with it, it was posted on the newspaper's website.

The following day you posted a link to it on your social media accounts and a little later you started to go through the comments. So many of them talked about how you were only picked to do that article because it was about a man's body and you were a woman. Right…nothing new on Twitter.

“Stop replying to hate comments”.

“It’s therapeutical”.

"It's pointless".

Just one more…

It wasn't just the press or people on social media talking about Pedri's muscles. His teammates loved to tease him joking about that too.

"Here comes the Spanish Lewandowski", laughed Eric.

"So funny".

"Please don't be mad at me. I'm afraid you'll use those big strong muscles to punish me".

Pedri did use his muscles to push his friend and get him out of the way. He knew it was just banter but it all got boring after a few days.

"There needs to be a big signing or something so your arms stop being the topic of the week", told him Ferrán, who was looking at his phone.

“Yeah, I saw Barça posting about it on social media too. People are so overdramatic”.

“Totally, but I didn't mean that. I meant the new article”.

"What new article?"

Ferrán showed him your article and Pedri sat down to read it properly. It was a great article. You took the time to analyze the way his game could be influenced by this body change and picked different photos than the ones used by everyone else. He guessed there were still proper journalists out there. What a plot twist.

"It's a good article", he said, giving the phone back to his friend.

"The internet seems to disagree".

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I don't know if they disagree but the girl who wrote it was getting a lot of shit on social media".

"Why?", Pedri couldn't hide his frown.

"I didn't look much into it but I saw people saying nasty things to her and then they found some old tweets and …seems like she used to have a crush on you and now she writes about your muscles or whatever and people on Twitter are the way they always are".

"Right", he murmured. He had listened to everything his friend said but also got stuck on how you used to have a crush on him. And he didn't even know who you were but footballers…they just loved being loved.

"No point in deleting them now", said Jordi.

"I wasn't going to…".

People had too much time on their hands. That was the conclusion of the day. Somehow, just because of your article, someone decided to check your entire Twitter history to see if there was anything they could accuse you of. They probably were mad to find no offensive tweets but they found two where you retweeted a Barça fan page and wrote about liking Pedri.

The funniest thing was you barely remembered those tweets. You saw him, thought he was cute and posted that. Then you moved on. There were many players you found cute but had no time for crushes. Pedri got a mention purely for the fact that he signed for your team.

But now this was being used against you. So childish.

"Are you busy next week?"

You looked up to see your boss talking to you. He never talked to you.

"I guess. I mean, I'll be here working. So…".

"Do you have a passport?"

"Yes".

"Your English was good, right?"

"Pretty good, yeah".

He only had to look at your CV to see all the qualifications you had, including all the diplomas that proved your English was more than good but…no one cared that much about an intern.

"You're going on the US tour", he said and left. How could he drop that bomb and leave?

Your jaw was on the floor and Jordi was staring at you with a similar expression.

"Wait!", you said, finally able to get up and follow your boss. "What do you mean I'm going on the US tour? There is a group of people chosen for that already. It was decided months ago".

"I know", he said casually. "But one of them can't go and you'll take his spot".

"But I'm just an intern".

"Do you not want to go?"

"I do! Of course I do!", you said quickly. "But it doesn't make sense".

"Look. You're doing really well here. And you've gotten people to visit our website more than ever with just one article so…you earned it".

You had heard about all the visits to the website after the Pedri article was posted. But the way your boss was avoiding holding eye contact told you everything you needed to know.

"Am I just going because people think I have a crush on one of the players that'll be there?"

"If you weren't a good journalist, that wouldn't be enough for me to send you with that team. But it doesn't hurt".

"Ok, I'll start packing".

This was a great opportunity and you weren't going to reject it just because of some of the reasons surrounding it. But the excitement you felt when you first heard about the trip completely vanished.

And when you checked your Instagram and saw a certain player was looking at your stories…it was even worse.

No one took you seriously but you'd prove them wrong.

The pre-season was both loved and hated by players. Pedri didn't really have strong feelings about it. It was just part of the job and they got to visit some different places so there were positives to take from these couple of weeks.

Another positive was having you around. After finding out about your article and your past crush on him, he checked your social media accounts. There wasn't much on any of them, since they were professional accounts. But there were a couple of photos of you and your dog.

Stories were something you also used to mostly promote your work and it was while checking those he found out you were going to the US too. He was hoping you'd meet at some point but didn't expect you'd be the one to interview him.

"Hi, nice to meet you", you said, extending your hand for him to shake. So professional.

"Nice meeting you too. I really liked your article about me".

Something changed in your expression and he couldn't understand what it was but you quickly got back to professional mode.

"Thank you. Let's get this done quickly. I was told we only have 15 minutes".

The interview was pretty uneventful. You asked good questions and Pedri gave you good answers in return. But you were so serious. He didn't know you personally, so maybe that was how you always were. But Pedri had a feeling there was more to it.

"Was that good?"

"The interview? Yes, thank you for your answers. They were really good".

"Easy when the questions are good too".

You nodded, quickly looking away.

"Are you ok?"

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Because it seems like you would want to be anywhere but here".

You closed your eyes and sighed.

"Is it because of what people said about you?"

His words made you open your eyes and you finally looked at him. Instead of answering, you simply nodded.

"Don't pay attention to them".

"Easier said than done. Especially when they are the reason I'm here".

"The reason…".

"I'm not here because I'm good at my job. But because people thinking I have a crush on you got us a lot of attention. And now this interview will get more attention. So I'm basically just a pawn and I guess so are you".

"I'm sorry".

"It's not your fault".

Picking up your things, you got ready to leave but Pedri stopped you.

"I don't read what people write about me but my parents do. They like to keep the articles and print the photos and all that. Things parents do, I guess", he shrugged. "I read your article because Ferrán showed it to me and thought it was great. And then my parents told me about it, praising your writing multiple times. Your newspaper might be using you but you're good. You showed it to me in this interview too so don't feel sad".

"I don't have a crush on you".

"What?", but then he realised what you meant. "I didn't praise you because of that. God, you really need to get out of that mindset".

When Pedri started to laugh, you were more confused than ever.

"It's not you against the world. And people will praise you just because they genuinely want to…but now I'll be the one who's sad".

"Why?"

"I liked thinking you had a crush on me".

Now you were laughing too. Finally, he got to see the smile he had seen in those photos.

"Thank you for your words. I needed them. And you must go to train. I'll see you around".

"Yes".

The interview was posted just a couple of hours later. And even if Pedri's words helped, the comments you got still hurt.

Got what she wanted. To meet him.

"Yes, that's all I wanted in life. I can retire now".

"Why are you looking at your phone like it offended you?", asked one of your colleagues.

"It's the people inside it that offend me".

"Are there people living inside your phone?"

You half laughed at his bad joke.

"I know what you need to cheer up".

"Really?"

"Yes. Thoughts on karaoke?"

That made you laugh. You were such a terrible singer. "I like it. People don't like hearing me sing, though".

"I want to hear you sing so you're coming with us tonight".

One of the easiest ways to get in trouble during pre-season was to go out and wake up to paparazzi photos of the party. But when it was the coach that took you out…then it was fine?

Pedri wasn't really into parties anyways but he thought karaoke night could be fun. He wasn't planning on signing but knew which teammates would. His phone was going to record all of it to tease them in the future.

"It started already", said Xavi, who was the first one to get inside the bar.

And he was right. There was someone leaving the stage while they found their tables. And someone else took the previous person's place immediately. Pedri wasn't interested in the random people who were going to sign but still looked up to see who was talking to the guy that controlled the machine.

And it was you who was on the stage.

"Well, that's a surprise", he said, almost to himself.

"What is?", Ferrán was now looking at the stage too. "Who is she? She's hot".

"The journalist who wrote about my muscles".

"The one that doesn't have a crush on you?", he laughed. "That's funnier now that I know she's pretty".

Pedri rolled his eyes and continued staring at you. He could see you were giggling and it was such a change from the super serious woman he met for the interview.

You picked a Franz Ferdinand song. They were one of your favourite bands when you were a teen and after seeing them live at the FIB, you were back to listening to all their songs on repeat.

Your voice wasn’t great but who cared about that on karaoke night? Pedri didn’t. He just stared at you. You looked so relaxed. Just having fun instead of the worried version of you he got for his interview.

“Whoever she chooses would be lucky. She isn’t lying”.

Ferrán’s words took Pedri out of his daydreams. “What do you mean?”

“The song”.

“I’m not really paying attention to the lyrics. What do they mean?”

His teammate explained the meaning of the lyrics quickly and Pedri had to agree. Whoever you chose would be very lucky.

“I wouldn’t mind being the chosen one but you saw her first. Shame she doesn’t have a crush on you anymore, Pedrito”.

Yeah, it was a shame.

When you finished your song, you felt so much better. This had been the right plan to improve your mood. None of your colleagues wanted a drink, so you went to the bar to get one. It was needed after all that singing.

“I didn’t know you were a singer too?”

You turned to face Pedri and snorted. “Yes, it was my plan b if journalism didn’t work out”.

“There is always autotune to help”.

Pedri was pleased to see you laughing at his words. It was the second time in just one day he had achieved that.

“Do you want a drink too?”, you asked him when the bartender was taking your order.

“Just water, please”.

Once you got your drinks, none of you moved from the bar to go back to your friends. You just kept chatting.

“I mean, who knew writing about someone’s arms could lead to so much drama”.

Pedri followed your eyes which were now staring at his biceps. “Want to touch them?”

Yes. “No”.

“After reading the article I wondered if you knew more about my body than I do, you know? So it’s ok, you can touch”.

You bit your lip, trying not to blush. "I know you hear every day about how good you are at everything and that makes you overly confident but you aren’t as great at flirting as you might think".

"I heard about how great I am from you too. So you're at fault".

"I've barely written about you apart from that article".

"Yeah, but the old tweets…".

"I told you I don’t have a crush on you”.

“And the way you’re blushing says something different”.

When he leaned closer, you noticed how your knees were touching beneath the bar. They had been touching for a couple of minutes and you hadn’t even noticed. Nor did you feel the need to move.

“Not here”, you said.

“What?”

“Not where people can see us”.

“I thought you didn’t…”.

“I just want to test a theory”.

“What theory?”, he asked, smirking at you.

“If the crush I had on you two years ago is still there”.

Farming content James Somerton style

You've probably seen the latest hbomberguy video that highlights plagiarism problem on youtube. He gives several examples many I never heard about but I've been recommended iilluminaughtii before and watched some of her stuff before getting tired of seemingly endless volume (now I know why). But then he gets to the real subject of the video and I did watch a lot of James Somerton videos. And I liked many of them. I liked them a lot.

I didn't give him any money and, as much as it came as relief, I kept thinking how this must feel so much worse for people who did. I thought about supporting him for a moment when he posted (in April this year!) how his videos are getting less views because youtube algorithm and demonetisation of gay creators (it's a real thing so it was easy to believe) and he will be forced to stop creating if people don't sign up to his patreon. But I was casual viewer and he seemed big enough so I didn't. It must feel like such a betrayal to those who created a real community around him. Just like his film production company it's clear now it was another of his scams. It's infuriating how well it worked.

Somerton deleted his patreon now (along with his twitter and discord server) so there is probably no recourse for those affected. The only good thing is that someone big enough highlighted what he did (and brought receipts) so he had to stop. When smaller creators called him out it either went unnoticed or he managed to make himself a victim (and send his fans after them). He actually did what Anita Sarkeesian was accused of and gaslighted his followers about it. His misogyny just adds an extra bitter taste to this.

At the end hbomberguy talks about how if Somerton was open about what he was doing this could've been his niche. He said it just as I was thinking basically the same thing. I'm sure there is a market for field review type of videos. Not review like movie or book review but in academic sense when you take other people articles on the subject and compare to show the state of research on the subject on at the moment.

This kind of reviews doesn't need any original research. The value is in giving people overview of where the field is at and pointing them to the actual research so they can read more in depth about the results. If you already did the search for all the sources this is a perfect format to use them. Most people don't have time or resources to comb through all the resources themselves but they like to learn about it and this is why videos like that are popular. That's why iilluminaughtii, Somerton and al. were able to cash in on it.

But of course this kind of things have to properly cited. And they cannot be just all quotes. You have to make coherent points not just make stuff up for the transitions (lies that actually made Todd in the Shadows make a video not about music). I suppose that's too much work. Too much effort when you need to crank out content to satisfy all the sponsors.

I was glad to find out I already watch most of the queer creators recommended in the hbomberguy's video (and put on this watch list) as an alternative (I would add Caelan Conrad to it - funnily enough I found them through their video about antivax movement). I trained my youtube recommendations well in which way it skews but it's easier to kick out all the obviously awful when you know what talking points to avoid. It's much harder to spot grift when it pretends to care about the same things you care about. Somerton was saying all the right things. It just wasn't his words.

Did he even believe any of it? I bet he'll insist on yes but the laziness says otherwise. It seems like it was all just for the money and fans this angle gave him. That he enjoyed being cool to the audience he built and the stuff it bought him. Be gay do crime for real. Only he didn't write that one either.

Visual resources primer

If you're creating a visual oriented fanwork or you're a writer who needs to see all the details to craft the perfect sentence, we thought of you!

This resource post is for visuals. It is geared towards artists who have never drawn BDSM art or want to try to represent new kinks for our fest.

⚠️ Proceed with caution! ⚠️

There are no images in this post, only links. All the links contain nsfw content varying from artistic nudity to sexual photos. 🔞 I specify the content (cw) of the website linked to the best of my ability, but none of it is appropriate for the average office workplace.

Please be mindful of your own triggers and limits before clicking any link.

■ General advice

Drawing kinky and/or bdsm scenes for the first time requires some level of research, but depending on what you want to depict it can be more or less than your average piece of art.

Drawing temperature play with ice? As easy as googling "ice". Drawing specific gear like puppy play hoods or a shibari design might require more diving.

■ Genitals

Before delving in the saucier part, I thought some basics might be a good introduction. Not all BDSM involves genitals, but some of it does, so take what you need.

For more drawn references the sites that have the best tagging system are imo: • Rule 34 [cw the page opens to an anime drawing of a girl in bikini, depending on what you search it contains every kind of 2d porn] • Pixiv (requires login) [cw, before login it has a sfw interface, once you log in the main page differs (it shows what's popular at the moment etc) so it can contain 2D porn or be entirely sfw, proceed with caution]

Why looking at nsfw art? Looking at art first might ease you into the subject and make it feel less awkward, and artists tend to accentuate details, so observing other artists is a great tool to see what they did and seeing if it works for us too!

■ Now, onto Real Life Resources!

• For genital photos, but also for any kink I'm sure a reddit community or thread exists! While reddit has a bad reputation from its user base, when it comes to unedited nsfw photos is a great place to look at, the downside is that often the photos are not professional and the face is cropped for privacy reasons. • Flickr has a good tagging/filtering system and while it doesn't have explicit sexual content, it allows kink and "artistic nudity", some examples: - Shibari Group on Flickr [cw: photos of people of various genders, tied up, various states of undress, genitals can be seen in some photos] - Folsom Berlin Group on Flickr [cw: people in bdsm gear, parading for the fair in the streets, leather, latex, various states of undress but no genitals showing in the first page linked]

note: Folsom is an annual BDSM and leather subculture street fair, there are many pride events with a parade part dedicated to kink or leather: looking into Pride photos could be a great way to take a look at gear being worn without having to seek porn • Check Youtube for gear reviews, sex education content and dungeon tours like this one by sexplanations [cw sfw video showing a dungeon and some activities are demonstrated by a woman as the sub and a male dom, both clothed] • Twitter has some content but it's basically impossible to filter properly, so I don't personally use it, but following some accounts as you find them or looking at tags, like Shibari Photography [cw people tied up, nudity] might get you some interesting results • Go back to the origins and check DeviantArt. DA has some amazing stock photos [cw might contain nudity] - for example I recently found this account on DA (thetiedtyper) [cw naked women in stock, pillories and chains, full nudity] that has some kinky stocks photos, perfect for the Merlin setting! • Browse BDSM Sex Shops online (or irl if you want to): sex shops have good photos of the gear and also they use the proper name for them, so you can look further into it. - Mr S Leather [cw bdsm gay sex shop, photos of examples of the objects used during sexual activity, naked bodies and genitals showing] - Etsy [cw bsdm gear search on etsy, nudity, naked people showing the accessories] While buying handmade sexual paraphernalia can be risky, there's no risk in looking at these amazing crafts to feature them in your art. You can find some really creative stuff here. • Change search engine Have you noticed how, no matter how hard you try, google will never show you decent nsfw results? I have, and it's because their filter is busted Ecosia and DuckDuckGo work best in my experience, but I'm sure other alternatives exist. You can use our resource post to see some keywords to use. • Look at porn Most porn websites have good photos or at least free video previews. I personally don't look at videos unless I need to understand a specific practice or pose (thing can get complicated ;) ) Porn is great to get the anatomy (we can bend in unexpected ways!) and also to get the way different parts interact. A rope can be tighter or more loose and that impacts the skin and fat/muscle of the person. Leather bends and reflect light a certain way. Even the simple ice from my initial example might surprise us with how the skin reacts with goosebumps or reddens and how the ice slides over it. You can also notice the set: some porn sets are simpler and some are dungeons with a very neat aesthetic, a gloryhole setting might look shady and dirty or be a "normal" bathroom stall. Just a couple examples: - DBNaked [cw: explicit porn, photos of extreme bdsm practices, the link directs to the BDSM gay category, but the website features porn of every kind, you can search the categories/tags to what suits your needs] - This shibari Japanese website which I'm including because the ropework is beautiful [cw solo photos of men from clothed to naked, tied up and with other various kinks involved, unrelated but it features a lot of clothing kink too XD]

■ Materials that will make your life easier

You've got the reference, your visual library is full, what can make your drawing experience even smoother?

Many programs have assets/materials that can help you

• Clip Studio Assets: - This rope brush set (you might recognize from our banner <3) 100 clippy Content ID: 1843256 - Free rope brushes - This free chain brush Content ID: 1844909 - Free Seam brush, useful for giving details to leather and corsets Content ID: 1848691 - Free Stitch brush for more clothes or accessories detailing Content ID: 1896762 - This "fluid" brush, 10 clippy, worth it! I swear by this one, I use it mostly for sweat and it's *chef's kiss Content ID: 1790153 Some Materials websites do not allow terms like 'blood' or 'semen/come' so artists may use "glue" or other alternative search terms. CSP has a lot of scars brushes and many more <3 you can easily look at them in the assets, depending on which kink you choose. But what about other art programs? • Gumroad is a marketplace for artists. Search 'keyword + brush' and toggle the NSFW button on to have more results. The price might vary from a couple dollars to more depending on the kind of brush and set. Gumroad also has nsfw photo packs, if you really want a specific thing or to check them out. - Free Glue Brush for Procreate - Free Mystery Liquid for procreate - Free milk brush for Procreate • DeviantArt [cw this opens the main page for DA, may contain nudity or 2d porn] has some materials you might use.

I didn't go more in depth for Photoshop because i think it has its own shop/marketplace. For Krita and other softwares I couldn't find any brush, I think their software engine is not as advanced right now.

The textures on Gumroad and DA work for all programs.

■ Follow nsfw artists and engage with the community

Many artists share what they use or where they got it, and can often give useful tips, no matter what they draw. I hope these tips, as modest as they are, will be helpful not only for the BDSM week, but also for Kinkalot and the rest of your creative path ♡

Cataclysm Plot Summary

Welcome to Imperium | Cataclysm

Aka Imperium Season 2: Electric Boogaloo

Aka Apparently Showing Us the Boys in a Messed Up AU Wasn’t Enough Now We Have to Have A Plot™

A while back I did a rundown of the original Imperium series (click the underlined words if you’re new to Tumblr and don’t know that underlines are links) and told it with a messy, sarcastic, lighthearted, chaotic energy in an attempt to reduce the dark tones.

I’m trying to do the same here, but I don’t know how much I succeeded... my last Imperium summary was 2.8k words. This one is 10.0k

Without further ado, let’s get started

Spoiler Alert if you intend to watch Cataclysm (but if you don’t intend to watch Cataclysm and still want to know what happens in it, then you’re on the right post!)

So! As mentioned above, season 1 of the Imperium was really more of a character study with a lot of world lore showing why the characters were as messed up as they were and only a vague overarching story going on in the background

This season threw that out the window in favor of heavy plot

Read the link above if you don’t want to watch the original Imperium series but need a rundown on why the world is so dark and messed up

Alright! So, the first video is basically Echo coming back and being like, “Boo. Guess who? It’s been a while. We’re going back to Imperium where everything is f^&*ed and y’all can’t do anything about it.” And then he punts us through the mirror to the dark side of it and we’re back in the Imperium... yayyyy -_-...

Before I really get into it, I need to add a bit of information I left off of my last rundown because I either A) forgot or B) didn’t think it’d be important back then

Last time, each episode featured, like, 1 or 2 of the main canon characters and was just kind of showing how this AU affected who they were. There was baby bits of plot going on, but it was mostly about the characters. This year, each episode jumped around with a bunch of characters, so I’m going to try to format this a little better to show what happens when. Kinda similar to how I formatted my Inversion reaction post way back XD

The other bit of information I left off last time (I think), is that Mass-Maker vampires give their power to invoke their new turns to the Imperium. Sam mentions in his video last year that with careful wording of an invocation, he can transfer it so someone else holds the power to invoke his progeny. Hence why the Vampire Pyramid Scheme thing is under the Imperium’s governmental control. But even Mass-Makers are still under invocation to not reveal who that person they tied their invocations to is.

With those bits out of the way, let’s do what I promised and have an actual plot summary!

Light the Match

Episode 1 proper. It has been a year in-universe and out since the last time we saw these characters, and things have Progressed. Magic use hasn’t slowed down and, in fact, has gotten worse. The Meridian doesn’t have long left, but the resistance is still fighting to save it.

We open on Milo and Asher. Being dumb and being out in the woods at night (thankfully they’re driving so I guess it could be worse). Milo is telling Asher that this is a bad idea, and Asher agrees, but doesn’t do anything about it, and they continue on their way. They’re talking about going to meet a Freeborn (was never part of the Mass-Maker/Vampire Pyramid Scheme) vampire. Take a wild frickin’ guess who it is

We also learn that the Shaw Pack has properly joined Starlight and Babe’s resistance, and have gotten most of the other packs in Dahlia on board with it too. As many of us guessed they would Yay!

We find out that Asher and Milo are trying to free all the vampires from the Imperium’s control because the Imperium essentially uses them as soldiers/enforcers and there are so many of them that if the resistance tries to tear down the Imperium while the vamps are still under Imperial control, the resistance cannot win.

Milo calls the city a powder keg ready to blow, and says someone just needs to “light the match” roll credits but Asher says they need the info first

Anyway, they get to their destination after a little more arguing, and we jump perspectives a bit.

To the inside of the house they’ve just pulled up to. And it’s... *drumroll* You guessed it! It’s Vincent’s house! Y’know... Vincent... our favorite flirty vampire... who in this universe is a sadistic monster...

Remember in my last Imperium rundown post where I said Vincent still had some humanity in him? I take it back. I was wrong.

And is, when we see him again, feeding off Lovely in the creepy basement of his house. Lovely’s still there after a year of being held essentially captive and... I guess I’ll say they’re essentially kinda... brainwashed? Vincent says something about, “no thoughts in that empty brain, just how I like it” and then tells them to beg for another bite when he asks if they want another one. I assume this is because the pleasure a vampire feels from a bite reflects back on the person and they’re basically addicted to it?

But, before that actually happens, there’s a knock on the door. It’s Asher and Milo! They’re, uh, early for their meeting time with Vincent and we all wonder “who are you and what have you done with perpetually-late-to-everything Asher?” and Vincent’s a little miffed because they interrupted his feeding session with Lovely

There’s a little disagreement over Milo’s presence and Vincent is a total jerk to Milo for being small and honestly we all wanted to see a little action there but I’m not surprised we didn’t. Because Asher told Milo to stand down because they need the information they’ve come to Vincent for

Asher goes inside to talk to Vincent and leaves Milo outside to stand watch, and Milo is not happy about it. Asher basically tells Vincent he’s a jerk and Vincent brushes it off

Then they get started on the information. Vincent knows who the Imperium binds all the invocations to (William knows and Vincent managed at some point to get that information out of him). Asher wants the name/location of said person so they can get that person to release the invocations so the legions of vampires are no longer under Imperium control and the resistance stands a chance at winning

Vincent’s not convinced to give up the information so easily, and pokes and prods at Asher about David’s death, and the fact that David and Asher used to be romantically involved, pissing off Asher in the process

Vincent tells Asher that he’ll give up the coordinates of The Invoker if Asher...

Kills Alexis.

See, William’s only invocation on Vincent was to never be able to kill her himself even though Alexis is fully allowed to try to kill Vincent whenever she wants

Asher protests, saying Alexis is innocent of all this

And then Vincent explains that she’s not innocent of anything and promptly drops a Major Lore Bomb on us:

Alexis and Quinn were involved with each other (the phrase Vincent uses is “shared a bed” and outright says their relationship was at least, sexual, jury’s out on “romantic”) and Alexis was involved in the torturing of Darlin’s unempowered friend that ultimately resulted in the deaths of David and Darlin’—but Alexis wasn’t actually there that night when David and Darlin’ fought Quinn and his two other vampire companions because she was too busy trying (and failing) to kill Vincent

And that’s what gets Asher to agree

One Misery For Another

We turn our sights from the wolves and vampires, to the Imperial Academy of Dahlia.

Yeeeup! We’re back at f^&*ed up D.A.M.N.! Yay???

Aaand... we get Lasko again. President Lasko Moore. Creep-in-chief who Echo’s intro video this go-around taunts some of the audience members for quietly muttering, “NGL Imperium Lasko can kinda Get It...”

Anyway. Freelancer! They show up to his office because he’s apparently taken a special, personal interest in their education and he’s as condescending and creepy as always and my skin won’t stop crawling

Actually they want to ask him a question but the fact remains that he’s creepy

Lasko asks after Freelancer’s education, and then severely talks down on healing magic when Freelancer tells him they’ve been liking their healing classes the most. Because he wants them to be special and powerful and all that and thinks healing magic is useful, but just a tool for people with real power and wants FL to have “real power”

Side note: he outright confirms that our favorite Freelancer is, in fact, a powerful magic user. Which we all pretty much figured probs but it bears mentioning that It Has Been Confirmed™

Then Freelancer asks if they can go see Vindemiator. And Lasko gets Jealous™ Lasko agrees, and is like, “sometime this week, sure.” And Freelancer’s like, “No. Today.” And Lasko’s like, “Why today?” and Freelancer’s like, “Because then I won’t be thinking about it while I study this week and I can actually focus on school” and Lasko’s like, “A’ight. Lemme call the haven peeps and let them know you’re allowed to see him.”

But he only agrees with the condition that Freelancer comes back later that evening to continue their conversation. Fl agrees to be picked up later that evening and finally gets to leave President Creep’s office

And now we get to see Vindemiator! (I was very excited)

And over this past year he and Fl fell in love again! They are Meant to Be in every universe, Your Honor!

But before they can do any romantic lovey-dovey stuff, Fl has to shut the door because Vindemiator’s bedroom cell? in the haven doesn’t have cameras, but the hallways do, and they’re trying to be subtle

Vind is like, “How’d you get him to agree so fast?” and Fl gives the same answer they gave Lasko I guess, and Vindemiator’s like, “Usually he dangles this over your head before caving” and Fl’s just like, “Don’t worry about it, I’m here. I have to go back to talk to him later tonight, but I’m here now”

And Vind is worried about Fl’s comfort meeting up with Lasko after business hours and Fl shrugs it off but Vind pushes a little more. He hates that Fl keeps playing Lasko’s games in order to see Vind as often as they can and Fl, of course, brushes it off as “worth it” and Vind hates that even more because it means Fl has to put up with Lasko being a bigot and, I quote, “tolerate his touching”

Which, if that doesn’t set off warning alarms and raise red flags, I don’t know what would because yikes. There’s a reason I keep calling Lasko a creep in the Imperium universe y’all and this is it. Ew

Vind is feeling sorry for Fl and himself because Fl knowing Gavin essentially traded “one misery for another” roll credits from hiding their powers as a humanborn to putting up with Lasko with their magic out in the open, even Fl insists he saved them and he did from Kody, to be fair, but Vind is sulky

Also there’s lots of desperate kisses in this scene that break my heart and he calls Fl “my love” softly at least once and you can hear my heart shattering like dropped glass somewhere in the distance because they’re trying to be happy together in a world that stomps happiness out with glee

And then we move on to some juicy plot

Apparently Cam has been pretending to feed on a technician *insert eyes emoji here* it’s not Marcus, don’t worry in order to conspire with him to make a program presumably on a flash drive that can hijack the academy and haven’s security feeds

Vindemiator also briefly mentions Vega has a new way of getting through wards but we’ll come back to that I promise because “new way of getting through wards” is literally all Vind has to say, meaning he doesn’t know what that way is

He reveals that the plan has changed. Originally they were gonna scramble the security feeds and then the daemons were going to escape. Run away. GTFO. Leave Dahlia.

Now they intend to take the Academy as a stronghold. Not-D.A.M.N. is the nearest Imperial safehouse for the monarchs so it’s heavily fortified, and is a good home-base for striking out against the Imperium. And the haven is gonna stage a coup and snatch it out from under the Imperium’s nose as subtly as they can.

Avior gets a mention of Vindemiator believing in him and you hear my heart shatter again because canon universe!Avior has been so thoroughly left alone by all the other voiced characters that hearing the other daemons believe in him makes me wanna cry—look at my boy go! If you follow my blog and somehow aren’t aware that I am the biggest sucker for Avior, are you really following my blog? Anyway

And the other daemons in the haven (mostly Avior, who’s In Charge) want Fl to put the feed-scrambling program in Lasko’s computer because Lasko’s got the highest clearance. Vindemiator, of course, does not want Fl to put it in the computer. He doesn’t want Fl to risk it and he didn’t even want to ask them to do it because he knows they’d say yes, damning the risks, because that’s just the kind of compassionate Fl is

Vindemiator just so happens to have the flash drive with him, and Fl takes it, with the promise that if the opportunity to plug it into Lasko’s computer never presents itself, they won’t try again, and they won’t risk themselves too much

Fl promises and confirms that Anton’s not going to blackout the systems immediately before taking the drive

Then blah blah blah Vind laments that Fl has known too many burdens and deserves some peace and he’s entirely correct but doesn’t seem to remember that this is the Imperium, sucker! There is no peace! and promises to find some way to bring FL peace even if it’s just for a “short, precious while”

They kiss—

And we move on to the next segment, which is after Fl’s visit to the haven when our most loathsome Enforcer, Huxley, comes to pick up Fl to go to Lasko’s and is in general being a bigot and a jerk and my heart breaks but I also want to punch him in the face at the same time and he mocks Freelancer for being in love with Vindemiator because he thinks daemons are all just manipulators to get humans to feel whatever emotion they need to survive and in the distance you can hear me shouting “let me at him!”

Anyway he takes Fl to Lasko’s, like, office reception area or whatever and Lasko has already poured some drinks... because that’s not sus at all and we totally weren’t waiting for Fl to get drugged or poisoned or something while Lasko’s saying, “tonight we don’t have to be president and student, we can just be us!” and we’re all side-eyeing each other like, “that’s a red flag!”

And then they do a “Cheers” and the episode ends... Oof.

Luxury of Morality

Aaaaand we’re back to the wolves! Yay! This one came out while I was in an airport so my notes were really hard to read and understand so I redid this from relistening to the episode in full... r.i.p.

Anyway! Asher comes into the pack den or whatever from being outside in the endlessly pouring rain to Baaabe just kinda hanging out waiting for him and he’s like, “Didn’t you have a meeting with your coordinator friend?” (Starlight) And Babe’s like, “Bruh that was ages ago” and Ash groans that he lost track of time meeting with Vincent when he can’t afford to lose track of time

Ash asks how Babe’s meeting with Starlight went and Babe replies that the daemons are days away from being ready and Ash flips because he and the wolves won’t be ready in days—they need more time to get the vampires neutralized and if these two things don’t happen within a short time of each other, it probably won’t work and Ash thinks the daemons are gonna get themselves killed. Babe tells Ash about the program that hijacks the academy security and Ash is skeptical at best because if Anton misses one of the academy’s many check-ins with the Department, it’s going to arouse a lot of suspicion.

Ash points out that daemons are strong but their magic has limits too and there’s such a thing as being outnumbered, and the Imperium has a lot of vampires and complains that Avior needs to wait until they’re ready and Babe tries to be nice but Ash retorts that Avior most likely doesn’t think Asher and the pack can actually get the Invoker to release all the vampires in time—and he doesn’t blame Avior because he’s not sure he can either

He also mentions that daylight won’t be to their advantage because the Imperium can just order Air and Water Elementals to make a stormcloud to block the sun which is simultaneously kinda awesome and Absolutely Terrifying at the same time. The only way to ensure the vampires can’t be set on the academy is to free them, and the only way to find the person is to do Vincent’s favor and then convincing the Invoker to let the vampires go

And Ash has a bit of an existential monologue about he’d rather die trying to save the world than do nothing and let it end, even if he thinks he and the rest of Elegy are already dead

He tells Babe to keep him posted about the haven and tries to leave but Babe insists on him telling them what Vincent’s favor is. Ash tries to sidestep with the “you don’t want to know” BS but Babe pushes no matter how much Ash tries to dodge

So Asher tells them to sit down and reveals the deal he and Vincent made. The info, for killing Alexis.

Then they get into an argument because Babe thinks killing is always wrong and Asher shoots back that in this situation he doesn’t have the “luxury of morality” roll credits because it’s “Alexis dies now, or everyone dies soon”

Asher tells Babe, too, that he didn’t believe Vincent at face value and therefore verified the story and found out a lot about Alexis, before Babe could keep defending a woman they didn’t actually know anything about.

Alexis has a plot of land out beyond Ferris (the town where the Keaton Pack relocated to in the Prime universe) with high concrete walls that’s like an overgrown maze inside where she trucks in unempowered people and hunts them down, particularly families.

She’s a Mass-Maker so she gets away with all of it because the Imperium says she’s earned it.

And when she can, she likes hunting shifters too. She already killed the entire Keaton Pack. They got on the wrong side of the Imperium and the Imperium essentially handed the pack over to her.

Asher continues to tell Babe that Alexis is partially responsible for Darlin’ and David’s deaths—and if everything else Alexis had done wasn’t enough to get Asher on board with killing her, that alone would be plenty

Asher also reveals what Vincent teased at before—that Asher and David weren’t just romantically involved, they were mates in this universe. Which I freely admit I didn’t see coming because that seems like something that would have come up last year when Asher was berating Christian, blaming him for David’s death, and saying last year that “his alpha” died not “his mate” and that seems like a pretty radical difference to me but it also certainly explains why Ash “over”reacted the way he did last year so meh makes sense

But anyway. We’re not here for my tangents obsessing over word choice. We’re here for plot and drama!

Ash admits that Babe has given him and the pack something to fight for in a world that he didn’t think he’d want to fight for after everything he’s lost, which he’s grateful for, but despite all that Babe has given him in regards to purpose, it isn’t enough to make him consider the immorality of killing Alexis

He doesn’t care if Babe sees him as a monster for it, either.

And he leaves the room.

What You Deserve

Swapping back over to the D.A.M.N. side of the story, we open with—

Wait

Vega?

Yeah. So, on my original Imperium summary I kinda brushed past Vega’s BA because I thought the only relevant bit was that humans could, like, volunteer to let daemons feed off of them at the havens in feeding rooms that had cameras in them

But apparently I was wrong. The other relevant bit was that the human from that BA was supposed to be letting Cam feed off of them and accidentally walked into Vega’s room instead due to a clerical error, and ended up locked in. And found Vega wildly attractive and Vega accused them of being a bit of a masochist and... well... it’s an NSFW Bonus Audio so... you can probably guess what happened back then.

A year later, Vega and that same human are pretty much in love. Huh. Vega as a thoughtful partner wasn’t on my Cataclysm Bingo Card but it’s interesting to explore

Vega’s trying to soothe the human listener character (who he calls Pet so that’s what I’m gonna use to simplify) because they’re worried about the plan and want to hold Vega and Vega’s like, “Sure. If that comforts you. Not what I expected but sure.”

He tells Pet that when the fighting starts, they need to stay in the haven. And if the resistance fails, he makes Pet promise him that they’ll tell the humans he was nothing more than a cruel, sadistic monster who held them captive. Because the humans would expect to hear that and it will keep Pet safe

Vega goes on to say Freelancer is going to try to plant the program in Lasko’s computer tonight (this takes place the same night as the last time we saw them, btw) and everything will permanently change either way. Comforting, Vega. 10/10 good job

Pet is a little scared but Vega gives actual comfort over the changes with a complicated river metaphor, but realizes Pet isn’t just worried about the broad, sweeping changes about to happen. They’re worried for Vega.

And I’ll say it right now: Vega is the only character whose canon universe version would be punched in the face by his Imperium version, rather than the other way around like Huxley or Sam

Vega reassures Pet that they don’t need to worry about him because he’s perfectly capable of handling himself and promises he won’t leave Pet the way others have, and tells them their soft heart is safe with him

Moving back to Freelancer in Lasko’s office area! Who, thank the Sovereigns, is not getting drugged or poisoned by whatever drink Lasko gave them. And they’re having a somewhat pleasant chat but also not really because it’s kinda creepy because Lasko is talking about whether or not Fl left behind a partner in their old life and when FL’s like “nope” Lasko doesn’t believe them and makes a quiet comment about how with “that body?” he can’t imagine they didn’t have someone but Fl insists they didn’t

But guess what? Avior, Vega, Vindemiator, and Anton are monitoring Fl from the haven and Vind is like, “They’re super uncomfortable. If this keeps up I’m going in there”

And Avior, over the radio, is like, “Calm down, Vin. Trust them.” (Vin! Vin! A nickname! From Avior! I about lost it because, I mean, c’mon! That at least means they’re somewhat friendly and all I want is Gavin and Avior in the canon universe to be friends toooooo!)

Then we jump back to Freelancer, who asks where the bathroom is. It’s just past Lasko’s office, but when they get up, they go into Lasko’s office instead and start rummaging around to get the flash drive or whatever plugged into the computer

And Lasko comes to the door (which Fl locked when they slipped inside) and is trying to get inside while Fl keeps running the program and he acts at first like he thinks Fl is joking with him and slowly starts getting more and more vocally aggressive when Fl doesn’t respond

And, in the haven, Vindemiator can’t take it anymore, even as Anton announces that Freelancer was successful in getting the drive into the computer, and he takes off at super speed for Lasko’s office. Avior, on the radio, is like, “No!” but Vind doesn’t listen so Vega’s like, “I’ll go with him and put wards up to hide that we’re there.” And also takes off and Avior mutters, “Assuming Vin doesn’t level the building” and then instructs Anton to do what he can.

Back at Lasko’s office, Lasko is mad that Fl still hasn’t opened the door or even said anything

And negates the air in the room in his office (he can do it through a wall with no problem)

Starting to asphyxiate Freelancer, taunting them through the door when they try to get out but can’t think straight because they’re losing oxygen, saying that he’s trying to teach them a lesson, not kill them—

Then Vin to the rescue!

(After Freelancer passes out on the other side of the door)

Lasko tries the same trick, negating the air, but Vin laughs and is like, “Nice try. Daemons don’t need to breathe.” And promptly mutes Lasko’s powers, so now Lasko does have to breathe, and proceeds to use magic to beat Lasko up, and choke him out. Because Air Elementals apparently don’t need to breathe either when they negate the air in a room until their powers are taken from them and Vindemiator is getting his revenge—

When Vega shows up, holding Freelancer. He and Vin talk about how Lasko deserves more than the broken bones Vindemiator just gave him, and Vindemiator wants to be the one to give Lasko what he deserves, but he admits that he still sees Kody’s broken form on the floor from last year when he tries to go to sleep, and he can’t hurt someone like that again so he drops Lasko from the chokehold—and Lasko gets a chance to catch his breath. Until...

Vega’s like, “You can’t. I can.” And when Vindemiator’s like, “Wait what?” Vega grabs Lasko with his powers, holds him down, starts torturing him, and silences him. Vindemiator protests, but Vega boils it down to, “Your heart is soft, Vindemiator. And that’s fine. That’s why I’m here. To do the things you can’t.”

He tells Vindemiator to take Fl and get out, and after a bit of arguing (because Vega used the term “pet” and Vindemiator snapped back that Fl is not his pet and Vega’s like “different words same concept. Go”), Vindemiator does.

Leaving Lasko alone with Vega.

During which Vega reveals that he’s been faking being half-starved and weakened all the time. Because Lasko, and everyone Lasko’s assigned to the haven, are all hateful and cruel—and Vega’s been feeding on that for a long time. He’s more powerful than Lasko could ever conceive of, and it’s all Lasko’s fault. Vega thanks him for that, and promises that he’s going to use the power Lasko’s enforcers gave him to tear the Imperium apart. And if it fails, come and watch as the Meridian collapsing washes Lasko away, so the last thing Lasko ever sees is Vega’s smile

Then Vega Slices Lasko’s Threads!

Which is terrifying and kinda hot but not entirely undeserved on Lasko’s part either

Worth Dying For

Alrighty-doe! Back to Asher!

But! We also get Milo...

And our new second-favorite Incubus: Scorpius! Yay! (I’m not kidding when I say it’s always a delight for me to hear GB)

And after Scorpius and Milo give each other so much attitude and sass that I want to hear more of their interactions for the rest of forever, Asher offers Scorpius a deal:

Overclock Asher’s Core, and the wolves will take Scorpius to the safety of the haven

Scorpius is skeptical because he tried to get into the daemon haven before with no luck, and Ash remarks it’s because he tried to go to the front door, and the wolves have a back way in that is guaranteed to work

And Scorpius is like, “yeah okay, but the Imperium banned overclocking ages ago. You realize it’s a bad idea, right?”

Asher’s like, “I know. But the why isn’t part of the deal.”

So, for context now, “overclocking” is when a daemon pours some of their magic into a human’s Core, supercharging their magic for a short while. But it’s ridiculously risky because the only way to get rid of it once it’s in their bodies is to use it all—and the longer the human holds on to the demon magic, the more it burns their Core to a crisp. (Sound familiar? Inversion, anyone?) Basically, the human is very likely to lose their magic if they Overclock their Core.

So why does Asher want Scorpius to do it to him?

We’re getting to that.

Asher argues with Scorpius that because he’s a shifter and magic isn’t just in his Core like most of the other magical races, he’s more confident that he’ll be able to take it in sound familiar?! and potentially not lose his magic permanently

Scorpius reluctantly agrees after a bit more arguing

We move now to Damien and Royal Consul Jett!

Jett informs Damien that not-D.A.M.N. missed a check-in (they were a little late because Anton is doing those, but the Department doesn’t know that yet) and Damien’s all, “Seriously? You’re bugging me for this? One academy being late?” and Jett’s like, “it’s the nearest safehouse for you though.” and Damien’s like, “It’s beneath my concern right now. I’ll leave it in your capable hands.”

And Jett’s like, “Sire the public hasn’t seen or heard from you in four months, maybe you should stop isolating yourself in your quarters”

And Damien’s like, “Why do you think they haven’t?”

Jett tries to soften his words by saying it had been four months since “the loss” of Damien’s consort (who, remember, is actually Angel)

Damien practically blows a gasket because “loss” makes it sound like an accident, but Angel was speaking out against the Imperium (releasing documents revealing background information) and no matter how Damien’s attempts to stop them escalated, they wouldn’t stop

So they were executed

Yeah. Angel’s dead. We didn’t even get to see them fight Damien before it happened :-(

Y’all I feel a bad for Sal because every time he’s voicing Jett on Redacted’s channel, Jett’s getting yelled at. First by Milo in the Inversion, now by Damien... I don’t care much for Jett but poor Sal XD

And Damien orders Jett out, and he leaves.

Back to Milo and Ash!

They’re on their way to meet Scorpius. Arden is going to come pick him up once they’re done and take him to the haven—which is great for Avior because they’re gonna need all the magic they can get

And Milo and Ash get into an argument about Ash not risking the pack for this and going to take her out alone, and the overclocking, during which Asher reveals why he needs Scorpius to do it.

The older a vampire gets, the more resistant to magic they are, and Alexis is fifty and was turned by Old Blood. A lot of magic won’t necessarily work on her well when she’s at full strength. So they have to weaken her. And there’s only one way Asher can think of to do that.

See, vampires can’t feed on daemon blood. It’s essentially poison to them because it’s basically magic made physical that would overload their bodies and destroy them. And Asher knows he can’t trick Alexis into feeding on a daemon, so the next best thing is to overclock his Core. The saturation of magic in his blood should, hopefully, poison her and weaken her long enough to kill her if he can get her to feed on him

Milo, of course, freaks out at how bad of an idea it is and basically begs Asher not to do it, and gives the most emotional speech that I can’t even summarize without crying so I’m skipping it for now, and begs Asher to bring Milo with him to kill Alexis, and Asher actually agrees

They go and meet Scorpius and Scorpius double checks that this is what they wanna do and Milo asks for confirmation that once Scorpius gives Asher his magic, he won’t be able to take it back or transfer it—and won’t have enough to do it again

And Milo goes, “That’s what I thought. In that case... Sorry, Ash” and promptly knocks Ash tf out and tells Scorpius to overclock him instead

Scorpius is like, “Wait my deal was with your alpha.” And Milo’s like, “You’re still getting into the haven. Just do it to me, not him.”

Scorpius agrees, and once he gives Milo some of his magic, Milo radioes Arden and tells her to come get Scorpius to take him to the haven and thanks Scorpius

Anyone else experiencing deja vu or is it just me? *glares at Milo for being a brave, dumb, self-sacrificing idiot again*

Truth Will Out

Alright. This one starts

with Sam?

Yep. See, I didn’t think we’d see Sam this year. I thought that once he got his Mass-Maker title he’d f^&* off to the Solaire Clan wherever they are and enjoy his freedom.

But nah. Why should my predictions ever be right?

Anyway. He and a large crowd of vampires are standing outside not-D.A.M.N. in the storm, shaking the chained gates, and Sam seems to be the spokesperson, saying they know the academy has been taken over by the daemons—and tells the “Children of Aria” to come greet their guests.

So Avior goes out. Alone (10/10 fantastic idea, Avior. Good job *eyeroll*) and is like, “how did you know we took the academy?”

And Sam dodges the question. Multiple times. But he’s got his crowd of vampires—

But that they want to help? What the hell?

They’re Mass-Makers and freeborns (ones who were turned but never under the Imperium’s control), all of them. And they hate the Imperium and want to help tear it down

And no matter how many times Avior asks how they know, Sam dodges or avoids the question—and points out that the longer Avior waits with this massive force of vampires outside the gates, the Department’s gonna start noticing soon.

He tells Avior that he can double check the truth of their story if he wants. Which Avior does want to do. So the vampires get locked up in the haven for temporary holding while Anton verifies their stories

The vampires get escorted to the containment rooms and Avior goes somewhere to be alone

Which is where Starlight finds him. And—it’s important for me to note—he calls them Starlight. Meaning they’re in love in this universe too now! Which is a win for me!

And Avior’s telling Starlight that he didn’t have much other choice but to bring them in, and they’re both worrying that the vampires are suspicious which they should be, but all the vamps are who they say they are—and several of them are on the Imperium’s hit list. So yeah. No love there

But the most worrisome is that none of them will explain how they know the daemons took the haven—there’s a leak somewhere, and they refuse to say where. Avior promises that if the vampires turn on them, the vampires won’t survive the event

He goes over the plan with Starlight—even with these vampires, he’s not confident in their forces yet to attack the Imperium outright. They need to deliver one fatal blow to the Imperium or the resistance can’t survive to make a second strike against the might of the Department

Starlight suggests kicking out the vampires but Avior says he can’t. He doesn’t trust the vampires or the convenience of them showing up, but it would be too suspicious—and one of the vamps might tattle to the Department—and he can’t afford to ignore the extra hands

And Avior reveals why it’s always raining in the background in the Imperium

The world is dying as the Meridian keeps wearing thinner and thinner. The storms and the earthquakes are the world’s death throes (“The final movements or sounds, often erratic, of a living being as it dies”). They haven’t seen the sun in ages because of it.

But McKinley’s daemon havens are on the same page and have taken their havens from Imperial control and are on their way—but it’ll take them a few days to get to Dahlia. Borden’s (another city’s) aren’t ready yet but they’re on their way

Starlight asks if they could use magic to pull the truth from the vampires’ minds. Avior admits it’s possible, but unethical and he’s not willing to do it. He says Vega and a few of the others would be willing, but Avior is the one In Charge (the way he said that—I’m not even gonna lie was pretty hot) and he’s not even going to ask because the vampires, technically, haven’t provoked it yet. So it’s the Absolute Last Resort

And we turn to Vega and Pet—

And Vega and Pet have a sweet conversation where Vega expresses how he’s always surprised at how Pet looks at him and treats him

He tells them to prepare for a quick change as the fight breaks out elsewhere. He promises to come back, but they’re gonna be alone for a bit as he leaves. Pet wants to go with him, but he won’t let them. He can’t keep them safe when the fighting starts. Pet, reluctantly, agrees

And they tell him he “holds their heart” and he gives a soft speech about how his hands are better made for crushing, tearing, breaking—destruction and cruelty, and to be trusted to hold Pet’s soft heart was something he never expected.

He starts to tell Pet his plan. He doesn’t want them to have to lie to the Department should it fail, but he doesn’t want them to misunderstand him, either—

And Vega tells Pet that he is the reason the vampires are here. He used his magic—Telepathy, I assume—to reach into the minds of the vampires free of the Imperium and most willing to volunteer for something like this, and suggested they gather for this. Any vampire that he sensed would resist, he ignored, rather than try to take over their minds because it wouldn’t be stable. So he just. Offered. And they agreed. But if any of them betray him, he’ll destroy them.

He says he knew Avior would never agree, so he just did it. Avior is a good leader and a worthy voice for daemonkind, but too reserved to make harder decisions. He says Avior should be the leader, but should stay behind the front lines and needs a general willing to take risks and fight and carry the pain so Avior doesn’t. And Vega took that upon himself because the other daemons would never be able to do it.

And he’s going to take the vampires and the other daemons to the Imperium Spire (the palace/governmental seat, essentially) tonight to lead the strike. To kill Damien and the Ruling Council or die trying. Either way, it’ll be over.

And Pet is worried, of course, because they love him. And he asks that they trust him. He promises he’s not gonna be the one dying. He promises to come back and that he was “born of cruelty, but is more than that” and won’t leave Pet alone in this harsh world

I am mildly in love with Imperium!Vega, not gonna lie. But Canon!Vega can take a hike

We move, now, to Fl and Vindemiator. Fl is awake after being suffocated and Vin is trying to convince them to rest and they won’t. Fl is imagining what their and Vin’s lives could be in a world without the Imperium and Vin desperately wants to give that life to them. They deserve to see their canon counterparts, Your Honor!

Then, Freelancer suggests they leave. Apparently they’re fed up with everything they’ve been put through and they want to find some well-deserved peace—finally

And Vin says he can’t. He protests that he can’t abandon the resistance. That Avior’s gonna need all the demons he can get

But Fl argues that one daemon isn’t going to make or break the fight which I disagree with but this universe had no Inversion to prove that to them but ssshhh

So, after a bit of convincing, Vin and Fl decide to run away together. To just have a few days of peace and happiness, before the end of the world.

They run. They don’t even pack a bag. They. They Just Go.

And we literally never hear from them again for the rest of Cataclysm

Tantum Tyrannus

(Which translates, according to Google Translate, to “Only a Tyrant”)(In case you’re curious. I was)

Well, sh!+

Asher wakes up to Sweetheart (Finally showing up) waking him up. Sweetheart can’t find Milo anywhere gee wonder why and Asher realizes what Milo did. He explains it to Sweetheart and Sweetheart’s like “why did you let him do that?” And Asher’s all, “I wouldn’t have—which is why he knocked me tf out and did it anyway!”

Asher is determined to go after him, and Sweetheart convinces Asher to take them with him no matter how much he resists and he finally caves after Sweetheart asks what Asher would have done to be there, fighting at David’s side, the night David died. Asher tells Sweetheart to stay cloaked as long as possible, but lets them join him

And off they go to save Milo! (Assuming he’s alive)

Then we move to Damien!

And Nate Wexler! (Remember him, from Inversion? The Probably-Freelancer who sounds like he’s about 14?) He’s an adjunct to Consul Jett and Jett was called before the Ruling Council and sent Nate in his place

That or he figured Damien would be less pissy with someone with the voice of An Actual Child™ and made up an excuse but that’s none of my business

Damien’s like, “Fine, what’s your report?”

The weather has been getting worse and the planet is experiencing geological instability and Nate Wexler is trying to encourage Damien to make some sort of statement, to which Damien lashes out that he shouldn’t have to be holding the citizens’ hands

Damien asks Nate Wexler what the Elemental Magistrate is doing about the weather (because it’s evidently their job to handle the weather and stuff) and Nate’s like, “They’re doing everything they can but it’s not working.”

And Damien, being Damien, just snaps that they need to work harder or he’s putting them on Blood Supply

So Damien tells Nate to send some vamps to keep an eye on the Elemental Magistrate—in essence, intimidate them into trying harder—and dismisses him. So off the poor bean goes

Anyway back to Asher and Sweetheart where the fun is

They get to Alexis’ house and it’s... too easy. There are no guards. No wards. Just the house. Asher is Very Suspicious™ as he should be

And as he and Sweetheart approach the house, floodlights turn on and a loudspeaker activates.

It’s Alexis. Taunting Asher (remember Sweetheart’s cloaked and Alexis probably can’t detect their Stealth aura because they can pretty much fully mute it for a while) about Milo and beckoning him inside.

They go inside and Alexis has a beaten-up Milo in her grip.

She and Asher argue and she taunts him for not giving the pack his last name, instead hiding behind David’s, and she clenches Milo’s arm in her fist and breaks it. She threatens to turn Milo into a vamp and invoke him to attack Asher before he even takes his first breath as a vampire

Milo, being Milo, dares her to try

She bites him—

And his poisoned blood fills Alexis’ mouth. She recoils like, “What is that?”

And Sweetheart (I assume) hits her with enough magic to hold her still long enough for Asher to tear her head off

Then they get Milo tf out of there to go get healed ‘cause he kinda passed out. Poor guy

And Asher goes to pay a visit to a certain Vincent Solaire...

He brings Alexis’ head with him and Vincent is actually surprised that Asher pulled it off. When Asher explains how, and that the plan didn’t quite happen the way he’d wanted, Vincent laughs, saying Milo is “small and stupid” and keeps mocking Milo for taking it on himself

Vincent warns Asher that the Invoker has held the invocations for the vampires for as long as the Imperium has existed—meaning the Invoker is in some way immortal because the Imperium has been around for centuries

Asher tells him to “go to Hell” and when Vincent just laughs, Asher insists that Vincent gives up the coordinates on the Invoker. Vincent writes them down and hands them over—

And then Asher shifts and tears his head off too and growls, “Save me a seat”

Which was the most badass one-liner I could ever imagine because Imperium Vincent is a di—

Okay moving on

One Last Wish

Second to last, y’all! You’ve almost made it down this trainwreck of a summary!

We’re back with Milo and Asher. Milo’s in bed, recovering though no word is given on if he actually fully burnt out his Core or not but Asher seems confident when he says it’ll come back after Milo expresses doubt, but Sweetheart went to go make some food for him (probably before coming back to give him the Lecture of the Century™—assuming Marie doesn’t get to it first)

Asher tells Milo what happened with Vincent—that he got the info before ripping Vincent’s head off and liberating multiple people being held captive in the basement including Lovely (who had been there the longest by the sound of it) and getting those people to the healers with Miguel and Christian’s help

They have a heartfelt conversation about how Asher is a good alpha and Milo knows he can’t be as good of one, which was why he couldn’t let Ash burn out his Core

Then Milo asks Ash why he hasn’t given the pack his own last name—that the pack would be proud to be named after Asher and we all hold our breath for a potential Last Name Reveal?

Asher says it’s because he’s not the one that needs to be remembered. That it’s Gabe and David who deserve it and we all sigh because we don’t get the Last Name Reveal

Ash takes some time to cry because he can’t feel the magic in the word mate anymore now that David’s dead and says he keeps the pack called the Shaw Pack because it’s one of very few things he has left of David—David hated having his picture taken so there’s only a few pictures of him but Ash has David’s jacket and old wallet... but very little else

He and Asher have a moment of sobbing together and Milo tells Ash to “come here” and Ash gets closer but is like “Why” and Milo’s like, “if I get off this bed you’ll yell at me but I’ll be damned if I don’t do this” and gives Asher a hug

Asher holds onto Milo and they both cry, and as Asher pulls away, Milo figures out immediately that Asher’s leaving and asks if he can convince Ash to take anyone with him to go after the Invoker and Ash is like “nope”

And Milo tells Ash he loves him and tells him to come home. Ash loves Milo too and then Sweetheart comes in and Asher goes out (they exchange a hug and Asher does a *pat pat* on their back and they are family, Your Honor)

And Asher heads off to go confront the Invoker after steadying himself just outside Milo’s closed door.

On to Avior and Starlight! And Vega.

Starlight rushes into the room and Avior’s like “What’s up?” because Starlight is clearly distressed and Starlight saw Vega doing something sus and Avior’s like, “Crap. C’mon. We gotta catch up to him” and they rush off to Vega and find him heading for the courtyard to lead the vampires and daemons to the Imperium Spire.

They catch up to Vega when he’s alone and Avior’s like “what are you doing?” and Vega gives a literal answer that he’s heading for the courtyard and Avior’s like “Don’t play semantics with me” and they start arguing about logistics

And Vega finally gives up his plan to Avior, telling him that Vega was the one who brought the vampires here. And Avior is shocked and Vega tells him the same thing he told Vin—Vega does what the softer hearts can’t. He also says if any of the vampires think about turning on him, he’ll just take control of them

Avior is, understandably, against the notion

The two argue and Vega says he won’t magically fight Avior, and Avior’s like, “You can’t stop me without a fight!”

And Vega says he’s going to remove Avior—by sending him back to Aria. Avior’s like, “No. Only daemons who serve the Chorus are strong enough to rift” and Vega says, “Nope. It’s not power. It’s knowledge. Knowledge the Chorus didn’t share.”

Because yeah—Vega’s known how to rift this whole gatdang time and never did anything with it. Avior is appalled that he never went home and Vega says, “The Sovereigns deserve their fate. Humanity doesn’t.” Literally Vega’s stayed on Elegy this whole time to help humanity and for some reason I fall a little more in love with this version of him

Starlight tries to protest and get close and Vega warns them off, saying if they get too close, the rift will suck them in too and obviously we know humans can’t survive in Aria

Avior pleads with Vega not to do this, but Vega promises he’ll see Avior soon anyway. Either when they succeed and Vega retrieves him, or if they fail and Aria merges into Elegy and all of daemonkind is reunited

He opens a rift—

And Starlight rushes over to try to stop it and gets pulled in too

Vega laments that it was a needless death but that it won’t be in vain

And heads for the courtyard

Say hello once again to Damien and Nate Wexler!

The Imperium Spire is under attack! The daemons and vampires have stormed it and are making massive headway. The legions Damien commands are scattered, all they have are the normal security at the Spire—who are the best, but not enough, numbers-wise. And also they’ve lost contact with almost every daemon haven in the whole Imperium and Damien’s like, “Pull everyone from Dahlia then I don’t care where they’re stationed, we’re not fleeing the Spire like they want but we have to defend the building!”

And Nate’s like, “yes sir” and scampers off

Back to Avior—

And Starlight?

Yup! Starlight’s not actually dead! Yay!

Because guess what?!

The same thing happened here that did in the canon universe

The gatdang rift collapsed again!

So Avior and Starlight are in some barren, dripping landscape where every atom is made of magic that’s shaking bad and surrounded by voids and are like, “Okay... wtf do we do?” and they try and figure out whether the voids are ways out or not and Avior’s like, “we can’t do the first thing we think of without thinking things through!” and then the landscape shakes harder and Avior’s like, “Okay... maybe we don’t have time to think things through.”

And because they are always a mildly reckless idiot, Starlight shoves their hand (or fully jumps through) one of the voids and is pulled in. Just like in canon

And then there’s a background rhythm beating and you hear two voices. One is Erik’s, one is a woman’s.

“Child...

“Of Land...

“You...

“Are needed...”

What the fu—

We’re back to Asher now!

He’s made it to wherever the Imperium holds the Invoker and he fights off what few guards there are. A handful of vampires already trying to flee.

He doesn’t know the door passcode and goads the Invoker, hoping to get him to open the door

And after a moment, he does.

And it’s

Brachium

WHAT THE FU—

All Cruel Things

Last one. The finale. We made it this far, but this video is 51 and a half minutes long so prepare yourselves

We start at the fight at the Spire. It’s mayhem. Camelopardalis radioes Vega saying that the Ruling Council have evacuated and gives their location. Vega, delighted, and happening to be near Sam (because remember Vega brought all the vampires), tells Sam he has to go attend to something and to give the king his regards

And Sam—taking too much pleasure in that instruction—is like “Yes sir” before Vega blasts off

He wrecks the truck or whatever that the Ruling Council was in and gives a big fancy speech to the Council about the wrongs they’ve done and how his vengeance is basically that they will become dust and it seems like he uses his magic to quite possibly bury them alive and/or crush them to dust? It’s the same sound effect as Huxley’s big earthquakes

We go, quickly, back to Asher

And Brachium

And Ash is so confused

Because Brachium

Is a daemon!

And I was frickin’ right and I frickin’ called it when I guessed that Deathwalkers were daemons and woohoo! I was so excited

Anyway, Ash is like “Why would they bind the invocations to a daemon?”

Brachium’s like “Daemons are immortal as long as we’re fed and can defend ourselves well because we’re so strong compared to humans so it was safer”

And he reveals that he’s been on Elegy for millennia. He was the first daemon exiled from Aria for speaking out against the treatment of the Sovereigns

And he’s a Serenity Daemon

Ash is confused what Brachium gets out of the arrangement and Brachium answers that the Imperium keeps him safe, alive, and fed—

Because he’s afraid of death. He was the first one trapped on Earth, and he was afraid of dying from the beginning because it’s really only in Elegy that daemons can die

Asher’s like “why aren’t you killing me? why are you telling me this?”

And Brachium says Asher’s strength is waning from overuse, and doesn’t see Ash as a threat and asks if Ash wants to kill him. Ash is like, “I just want the invocations released, however that happens”

Ash says he’s not afraid to die—but Brachium contradicts that statement and after a bit of encouragement, Ash breaks down, admitting he doesn’t believe in an afterlife after everything the world has taken from him. His parents, David, Gabe, Milo’s dad, the Keaton Pack—he doesn’t think they’re waiting for him on the other side. That there is no other side. He thinks once someone’s gone, they’re gone. And Ash sobs at how exhausted he is

Brachium wishes he had the answer of whether there was or not because dramatic irony, but he doesn’t. And only being able to feed on peace and serenity has made him blind and complacent to the harm his role has done on the world because they were the only human feelings he ever experienced. He thought he knew that was why the Imperium did that, and that knowing it would help him resist, but after thousands of years, he wasn’t.

And the only way to release the invocations, is by the death of the holder

And Brachium is no longer afraid of death, after thousands of years of being alive on Elegy

Brachium reveals that he’s already dying because of how long he’s been solely on Elegy and the pain that is constantly flowing across Elegy from the cruelty of the Imperium has torn him apart, and the Imperium has been trying to convince him to bind the invocations to someone else, but he’s been refusing to release them. Ash protests that once the Meridian collapses, Brachium can go home, but Brachium’s form has been so worn down by time in Elegy that he won’t be able to withstand the violent merging of the two realities and will die anyway

So he expends all his magic, sacrificing himself, making me cry and releasing all the invocations, freeing the vampires

Or... so he and Asher think

We return to Sam—and Cam hehe that rhymes—right after Brachium’s sacrifice

And... Brachium was wrong.

His death didn’t free the vampires. Freed them from the Imperium, but not truly free.

It just transferred their invocations back to their Makers.

Sam figures it out first before any of the other Mass-Makers. Every person he’s ever turned as a Mass-Maker who’s still alive, anyway is back under his control.

Camelopardalis is like, “How many vampires is that?”

Sam doesn’t have an exact number but he says “More than enough to win”

And we jump cut up to Damien’s quarters

Where Nate Wexler is opening the door—

Only to get torn asunder and/or drained in seconds by Sam, who is still taking waaay too much pleasure in all this for me to consider sane

Sam reveals to Damien that the vampires have been freed from Imperium control and asks if Damien’s gonna defend himself, and Damien says it’s pointless, and if the Imperium dies, his king should die too

Sam’s like “Cute sentiment.” And attacks him.

Now, finally to Avior, Starlight, and the voices in the Meridian

It’s Elaetum and Min’Ara. They are all that’s left of the Meridian, and have been so worn down that they merged into one being in the middle of an identity crisis over that fact and can barely remember any of that from how much they’ve been reduced

They ask Starlight if they can use Starlight’s body in order to speak to Avior, and Starlight agrees

They explain to Avior that they had to speak through Starlight because Starlight, as a physical being instead of a magical one, is separate enough from their energy and the power of the Meridian to hold Starlight’s form. Avior, as a “starchild” (daemon) would have been consumed in an attempt to bind to him the same way. Elaetum/Min’Ara reveal that they stopped the rift before it reached Aria so they could have this conversation

Avior asks what they want, and they want to live, but their magic is too empty, and the tears can’t heal. They tell Avior to bring them a Sovereign

Avior protests that he has no way to get a Sovereign out of Aria, but—

They tell Avior that if he becomes a conduit for their power, they can take one of the Sovereigns out of Aria, they can use that Sovereign’s power to reinforce the Meridian.

Avior confirms that this will save Elegy and they say that’s true

So Avior agrees to become the conduit

He channels their power—sounding like he probably passed out—and we get a brief soundbite of Aria and then hear Elaetum/Min’Ara say the Sovereigns emphasis on the plural will be as one

And they take all of the Sovereigns from Aria into the Meridian

Avior freaks out because they’re leaving all the daemons in Aria to starve that way but Elaetum/Min’Ara assure him that daemons will be fine if they learn to make both Aria and Elegy their home, living the way Avior has for all these years by feeding on humans, and rift back and forth

Avior tries to protest that Elegy’s in chaos and if daemons start crossing over to feed it’s just going to get worse—but it’s too late

Elaetum/Min’Ara promise the Meridian will never fall, and make a rift for Avior to leave with Starlight—

And Echo appears for just a moment to the audience, saying, “But they’re gonna wish it had!” And cackles

Creepy eyeball motherhugger. Go take a hike

Anyway. Back to Sam.

Who did not kill Damien.

Instead, turned him. Into a vampire

Because he hasn’t earned that release yet

And takes way too much pleasure in invoking him to lick what’s left of Nate Wexler off his boot. Which is gross. Sam fully intends to inflict pain and humiliation and suffering on Damien after everything the Imperium put Sam through.

Then Sam opens the Comms channel

Right as Avior and Starlight run into Asher, back in Elegy

There’s a brief moment of reunion where Ash and Avior get caught up on the Meridian becoming stable—

Just in time to hear Sam announcing that he’s turned Damien into a vampire and the Imperium is over. And that he’s taking Dahlia as his territory as King Samuel Collins, but welcomes the other Mass-Makers to fight for land elsewhere with their progenies as little armies. Informing them that their invocations are back in their hands.

The man is insane, okay?

And Avior, Starlight, and Ash are horrified. Asher says Brachium died believing he’d freed the vampires... not give them back to the Makers.

The last words are Avior saying, “Oh, my God. What have we done?”

—

Then Echo comes back and is like, “LOL the Meridian’s fine but Elegy and Aria might still tear each other apart. Brachium’s gone so the Mass-Makers are warlords now and Aria’s going crazy now that the daemons all know they can and have to rift to Elegy to survive and everything’s F^&*ED! Tootles!” and cackles himself out

Then credits roll—

And we get a post-credits scene?

Yup!

Sam brings Damien a person to feed on, telling him to clean up after himself when he’s done

And...

It’s Huxley

But Damien has an idea

He turns Huxley, rather than draining him, saying he’s got a better idea for what to do with Huxley

So Huxley goes from being one of the most powerful Earth Elementals in the Imperium, to pretty much the weakest vampire.

Fun.

(Just didn't wanna show the image in case there were any minors or anything, but it's a ss of a gross AO3 fic summary)

There's a lot of gross stuff out there, that's why I like using AO3, cuz you can filter out what you don't want to read. I definitely came across some messed up/explicit stuff when I was way too young on another site (starts with a W) because there wasn't a tagging system. I think it's gross that it exists, but we also have to unfortunately acknowledge rule 34 (I think that was it). I don't really like writing/reading anything romantic or explicit in fanfiction and I don't think it's really cool to write explicit messed up stuff, but it's not something we really have any control over. Something that works for me is that I have certain pages bookmarked on my home screen with different AO3 links and before I bookmark them I filter out all the stuff I Never want to stumble across, so that I don't have to go through the trouble everytime. I think it would be cool if there was a permanent tag removal system so you didn't have to do it every time, but as far as I know there isn't (yet).

Obviously, not everything is properly tagged, but it gets rid of most of it. It does make me kind of worried thinking about how young kids are using sites like these, because what I found out at 13, kids now might be finding at 10, but it's not something we can really do anything about as far as I know.

I would suggest everyone just be careful of their filters and to think about what they post (and their audience) before posting it. I'm sure there are a Lot of creeps on the internet, but some of them are probably also confused teenagers who've locked themselves in their room since starting high school and haven't really left since. I'm also sure that with quarantine, a lot of this was exasperated because so many people were home and suddenly had time to join fandoms and catch up on everything they'd missed when they had to leave the house. I think that it can be kind of a cycle, I definitely knew people in highschool who were exposed/started watching/reading really messed up stuff from a young age and became desensitized to all of it/thought it was no big deal as we got older (like, someone showed me a video of someone getting decapitated when I was 14 for shits and giggles).

This ended up way longer than I thought it would be, but I hope I got my point across somewhat. Yes, it's awful. Yes, there are ways to prevent viewing it.

That being said, I'm not some internet expert, I barely even use social media beyond AO3 and Tumblr. This is just my opinion and thoughts on the matter, based on my interactions with incels online and irl. Feel free to comment, but I might not respond just because I think I've said everything I want to and I'm also kinda supposed to be doing school work atm ┐⁠(⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠)⁠┌

DISCLAIMER: As said in the introductory post, Fanders Sides Season 3 (season 2 finale included) could have triggering themes/scenes. Please keep that in mind before reading.

PREMISE: if I were Mr. Sanders and had to play this episode, I would never use my family - also because I believe the Sanders family is made of wonderfully supporting people.

But since this is fiction and we need drama, I would instead use some actors and open the episode by clarifying that this is a work of fiction and it has nothing to do with Thomas Sanders’ real family. I know people already learned the difference between Mr. Sanders and Character!Thomas, but better safe than sorry.

I would also change all names, just to be sure. And for the sake of simplicity, I also gave Character!Thomas two brothers and not three, just for the sake of avoiding too many characters.

The door opens and Thomas is welcomed by his brothers.

We get to know them a little more, while they exchange pleasantries: the older brother is a doctor, while the second brother is the head of administration in a company. They are both married, but have no kids. (From now on, I will refer to them by using their jobs.)

Thomas tells them about Nico: his job, his ambitions, his skills, his beautiful lyrics. He shows them a few of their videos together and they’re both happy to see Thomas found a boyfriend. But why didn’t Thomas bring Nico with him today? They would’ve loved to know him in person!

Thomas gives them a look: maybe they would’ve been happy to meet Nico and maybe mom and dad would be happy too. But grandpa and grandma…

The doctor rolls his eyes: grandma already asked them why they still don’t have any kids and grandpa lectured them for 20 minutes about the importance of having kids before they get too old.

The three brothers share a knowing look. Same as always, Thomas comments.

While they’re talking, Thomas’ parents appear. They're both retired, but keep pursuing hobbies and doing small works, so they look very lively.

They immediately ask Thomas about his job and he tells them about his recent auditions. He still got no reply, but maybe he will in a few days. Both his parents are very supportive and glad to see him.

And then, Thomas finally meets his grandparents. His grandma is a nice old lady and she looks extremely happy to see him. She tells him how big he is, what a beautiful man, how are you my boy and so on. They talk about their health too: Thomas tells them about the first random pains, and they tell him about their chronic ones. Despite them, his grandpa is still quite active and his grandma undergoes regular medical check-ups.

His grandma reassures him that aside from all of that jazz, they both rely on God’s will. They pray every day, for the entire family. And especially for their precious little Thomas, who is still so alone, poor boy.

Thomas sighs: he knows how this story goes. Still, he reassures them that everything’s okay, he’s fine, he can cook (read: he can order delivery), he can clean his house (even if he doesn’t do it regularly) and he’s self-sufficient.

Still, his grandparents act as if he said nothing: Thomas is a man, he should find a good wife, who takes care of him and the house! He needs a good woman who will cook him a meal! And they should have children as soon as possible, otherwise Thomas will get too old to properly grow them.

Thomas’ expression morphs from exasperated to pissed: he says they already talked about that. Every. Single. Time. And no, he still doesn’t want a wife. He doesn’t want a woman - any woman! He likes men.

His grandma shakes her head. Thomas talks like that, because he never found the right one. Once he will find the right woman, he will understand.

Should they help him find one?, his grandpa suggests. There’s the daughter of that friend, who is single too and she’s a beauty and she’s a bit younger than Thomas, but even better, so she can have more children…

Look at your brothers, his grandma adds, holding his hand. They’re both married and happy, because they found the right woman. You can be like them.

Thomas takes a step back, escaping from his grandma’s touch. He said it 200 times: no woman can change what he feels, because there’s no “right woman” to find. He doesn’t want a woman.

You talk like that, but God will bring you the perfect wife… his grandma adds, but this time it’s Thomas’ father who tries to change the topic. They already had this conversation over and over again, it’s useless. This isn’t a phase, Thomas likes men and that’s all.

It’s because you spoiled your kid, the grandpa says. You always let him win and now, look at him: he lives all alone in a house, doing an unstable job. Back in his days, kids were disciplined from an early age, so they didn’t get any weird ideas about “liking men”. Maybe he should take care of Thomas’ discipline and call that daughter of their friend…

Thomas can’t take it anymore: he gets up and slaps the phone from his grandfather’s hand.

The phone hits the ground, everyone looks at him in shock. But Thomas has had enough: he repeated himself so many times, he lost the fucking count! He doesn’t want a woman. Any woman! It doesn’t matter if she’s the daughter of a friend, if she’s beautiful or if she’s a good cook or not. He. Doesn’t. Want. A. Woman. Period. He is gay, he likes men, MEN! And no, it’s not an illness and it’s not a whim nor a phase nor the lack of discipline. He likes men, he just likes men! What’s so fucking difficult to understand?! And before they bring up the “back in my days”: back in your days, children died of flu and there was a world war going on. Now it’s over, it’s the future! Things change, everything changes, why can’t they understand that things are DIFFERENT now?! It’s not so difficult, goddammit!

Thomas comes to his senses and realizes what he just did and said. His grandpa’s phone is still on the ground, his entire family still looks at him with shocked faces.

Thomas turns around and runs away. Once he exits the door, one of his brothers finally catches up with him: why is he running away, he should come back in and…

But Thomas stops him. He can’t go back. He knows his grandparents are old and everything, but he just can’t keep repeating the same thing over and over. He wants to be accepted for who he is. And he really should go now, because he’s still livid with rage. And if he stays, he will end up punching someone. So, it’s better if his brother leaves him too.

His brother’s grip loosens, Thomas jumps in his car and drives away.

Thomas is back home: he opens the door, slams it behind him and once he raises his head, the first person he sees is Anger, his back against the couch, his ankles crossed. On his face, the same sardonic smile he showed Thomas when he was driving towards his parent’s house.

Thomas suddenly remembers his words: “You will understand by yourself” and pure rage blinds him.

He verbally attacks Anger: everything was his fault! It’s because of him, he got so angry! It’s because of him, that he said all those things! It has always been because of him! Even when he was in middle school and got angry at his friend for doing a better job than him! Even when his ex-boyfriend didn’t like his hobbies! Every time, Anger was ruining his life from the shadows!

Anger reacts with a smile. Oh, please, everything he does is something Thomas wants. He is the one who wants to react to all the assholes that ruin his life. Anger is just the means to do that.

Virgil was right about you!, Thomas screams. You are impulsive and dangerous! I cannot talk like that to my family!

Oh, but it’s exactly because you never talked like that to your family, that you reached that point!, Anger replies. Thomas never stood up for himself, never defended his ideas. He grew up like a wimp, too scared to talk back to a couple of decrepit old folks with stale ideas.

And once he finally does it, he whines because oh no, maybe he offended these old hags!

Thomas gets so angry, that he grabs the first thing he finds (a TV remote) and throws it at Anger, who dodges it. He mocks Thomas: he even sucks at being angry.

Thomas replies that he’s not the one who sucks, it’s Anger who is an asshole.

Anger laughs: well, better being an asshole, than a weak! All Thomas does is undergo everything. He undergoes his job, Nico, his family, even religion. He’s weak, he’s pathetic, he clings to everyone in his life because he’s unable to do anything by himself.

I build my life and my work by myself!, Thomas replies. I chose my job, my home, my boyfriends and everything else, all by myself!

You chose to ruin yourself with your own hands, Anger says and his tone is cold rage. You locked away the Sides who could’ve helped you grow a spine and chose to keep around just the ones who agreed with everything you did. And you did that, because you are afraid of everything, especially of confrontation.

That’s not true at all!, Thomas replies, offended. He always takes a stand and tries his best to follow it!

Anger replies with a bitter, shrieking laugh. Does he? How? His beloved Core Sides aren’t even able to talk to each other! And every time there’s a moment of confrontation, Thomas prefers to run away from it, instead of facing it! He makes promises he doesn’t fulfill, he wants to improve himself and doesn’t change anything, he wants to give his Sides a better life and does nothing for them, he wants to confront his family and runs away.

Thomas’ voice grows frustrated: he’s trying! He’s really trying to become a better person! But he doesn’t always succeed! He still tries and insists, but it’s difficult! So difficult! He has to take a break and clear his mind and he hates it, he doesn’t want to be this weak, but he doesn’t know how to do better! He doesn’t know what to do!

Anger looks at him with a pitiful expression: see? You’re giving up even before trying. That’s what is wrong with you.

Thomas screams and, in a fit of rage, throws everything around: the stuff on his table, a cup against the wall, books, toys. Everything he finds, he just throws it.

What should I do?, he screams, but he’s not listening for a real answer: he’s just too blinded by rage.

And after he throws everything, after there’s nothing else he can destroy, after his voice gets sore for screaming this much, he falls on his knees and his rage melts into a long, liberating cry. Thomas cries, hitting the ground with his fists for a very long time, until exhaustion takes over and he ends up curled on himself, hiding his face between his hands.

He cries for a very long time and, during the entire time, Anger waits. He stands in front of Thomas, patiently waiting. He looks at how Thomas’ breath slowly calms down, how the sobs, slowly, come to an end.

After a long time, Thomas finally looks up at him.

And now, Anger asks and his tone is calm, what do you want to do?

Thomas sits on the floor. His face is still wet with tears, but his eyes are brighter, more focused, clearer. He has a lot of problems to solve, he says.

Start from the oldest, Anger suggests, with a simple shrug.

Thomas looks at him, then lowers his head. He gets up and sits on the couch. He gets as straight as possible and takes a deep, long breath.

Okay, Thomas says and his tone is firm, as well as the expression on his face. Time to give Logan the confrontation he has been waiting for all of his life.

Thomas closes his eyes.

AUTHOR’S NOTE

If you’re queer, you probably met people who told you stuff like this. People who don’t reject you entirely, who care about you. But are not able to accept that part of you.

I chose this and not the typical “I hate you because you’re gay, now get out of my house”, because there are already a lot of examples of that. I wanted to focus on something a little grayer, because I believe this is a lot more painful - especially for the queer person.

If a member of your family straight-up hates you, it’s “easier” to hate them in full. But if a family member still loves and cares about you and tells you all the time, while also telling all the wrong things - and not because they want to hurt you, but because they want to help you… that’s hard to bear. You have to balance the affection you feel for them, with their inability to handle that specific topic.

You might be able to do it. But you might snap too and end up saying everything you kept inside to not hurt them.

I chose that solution, as a perfect example of all of Character!Thomas’ life: he always avoided confrontation, until confrontation hit him in the face. And Anger, by being the embodiment of all the jealousy, disgust and fury Thomas always felt, knows all of this even too well. All he needed was a moment to throw everything out. To show Thomas the truth. And, consequently, to break him down completely.

But why? Because Thomas needed to break down. He cannot just feel bad for a while, then forget everything and keep going without actually solving any problem. Only after fully breaking down, he can get up and start getting things done. And now, thanks to Anger’s suggestion, he decided to start from the oldest problem.

Speaking of the endcard: why a lighthouse? Because I’m weak about my headcanon and because lighthouses are cool. But they work too, you’ll see ;)

The lighthouse I chose as a reference is this one (link 1 + link 2): the Cape Florida Lighthouse. That’s in Mr. Sanders’ state, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to reach it. Also, it’s very similar to the one I imagined.

Hey, just in case people who already have been having a bad time with this meme are retriggered by Francesca Scorcese's TikTok – Goncharov is fake. It doesn't exist. [Edited for further clarity] That is really Martin Scorsese's daughter, that's her real TikTok account, and presumably that is really her father in the chat screenshot she posted. Francesca saw the piece in the NY Times talking about how Tumblr made up a fake movie, sent her Dad the link and asked "Did you see this?" Martin joked back "yes I made that movie years ago." That's all it was, Martin Scorsese himself playing along with our silliness.

PLEASE reblog this and DO NOT TAG IT UNREALITY. "Unreality" is for posts that are keeping up the bit, but info posts, reality-affirming posts and ones talking about the meme as a meme are solidly real. We really haven't been doing a good enough job tagging this properly and protecting neurodivergent people from being gaslit and traumatized. For Anyone Who Is Using/Want to Use Bluesky (or Just Want to View My Post)

Heddo Everyone! I have finally posted to this blog after being away for oh so long. Did ya miss me? *crickets* … Yeah I missed you guys too… =^=

But anyways, I wanted to have a post for my hashtags, tips and tricks and how to grow on Bluesky and shit. I don’t know, I thought it would be good at the time so I was like, why not. Just be careful cause it tends to freeze up Safari if you open the link. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max (weird flex) and it still can’t properly open and see all the hashtags. So what I did, I tapped the ( . . . ) on the website as fast as I can when I see it and download the text file of the Hashtags list.

Why is the website loading slow? It’s cause this website generates ALL the HASHTAGS each and every 30 minutes in the past 30 days. So it’s really chugging. But if you want to view on your computer, tablet, or on Firefox or Chrome (I haven’t tried the Chrome app but I’m sure it will work too) it will be a lot easier than viewing on Safari.

I found another link that I COMPLETELY forget what is does… My Bad. I usuallly put bookmarks on my home screen to use them for later but I completely forgot what this one does cause it doesn’t have a FAQ or anything. But I believe this link helps you block certain words or certain users from your feed. I think I may be right about it, I’ll test it out eventually. But it’s safe, I promise. ( I’m not giving out links to give you guys harmful viruses I know some people like to do that but trust me, I hate it too. A similar event happen to me and mom when I accidentally put her card on a site that wasn’t the true website and I SWEAR BY IT that it looks just like the actual website. But sadly, it wasn’t. You can make your own Feeds (I believe, I didn’t touch it much just looked at it) and even, get this, BOOKMARK. Yes! You can bookmark! carry on - chapter six

long chapter coming ahead! now we really start to get to know about valencia walker and alexander together a little bit but we also get to see them film a scene in supernatural together! and we also see that valencia is about to be a cover model and have an interview with vogue which is exciting!

waking up bright and early, valenca knew it was going to be a crazy day but it didn't seem to deter any exhaustion or negative thoughts. it was a filming day for supernatural but not just any old filming day for supernatural. it was the filming day of elodie winchester's return and explanation as to where she's been all this time. and, let's just that the entire cast and crew were excited for today because finally, elodie, who was the family's matriarch for so long since mary left, was now back. even though valencia has technically been involved with supernatural from the very start, sometimes elodie winchester was just mentioned and not even shown. however, valencia was overly excited to finally be back as elodie for it was something she had been missing. as though there was a gaping hole of the puzzle that needed fixing.

after posting about her upcoming interview and article with vogue, valencia decided to get dressed into something comfy so she could then be driven to the supernatural set lot to start the filming of elodie's return.

not even ten minutes later and valencia's driver got valencia to the set lot of supernatural so she made it in record time.

"...you excited about filming today?" jared asks as he rests his chin on valencia's shoulder as she giggles

"is that even a question, padalecki?" valencia giggles as jared giggles at his obviously dumb question as they wrap their arms around each other

"no, it's not. we've missed filming with you, ria. just having you on set hasn't really given us what we needed so, having you both properly and in front of the cameras is the best thing ever!" jared smiled, nuzzling his chin further as valencia once again chuckled

"yeah, i...i've missed it too. i've missed playing elodie, i'm glad i was allowed back," valencia smiled as jared smiled back as they pulled out of the hug

"we weren't going to allow filming to start again until elodie was allowed back..." jared whispered softly as that made valencia's heart melt - they did promise they'd wait until she came back and they didn't break that promise

"...thank you jare, thank you so much!" valencia smiled as jared nodded his head as they then decided it was time to get to their soundstage considering filming would be started soon

the brothers, the angel and the nephilim were still lost without their female winchester. they could only stay paused as the world around them continued on. staying cooped up in the bunker, they waited for the day that their sister, girfriend and best friend would just come home, not even having the energy to go on any hunts. however, unbeknownst to the grieving four, their girl had returned safely and she was not dead like they had all grieved over and thought. she was as healthy as possible and she was on her way home back to the bunker.

whilst she was excited, she was exhausted as she had been on foot. she had been kidnapped by the british men of letters and to do what to her, that was still to be figured out. but, being able to come back home was just the icing on elodie's cake. however, that did not mean she was out of the danger zone yet. she was still very much in the danger zone. no one actually gave permission or had any knowledge whatsoever that elodie had escaped. she escaped the second she saw the chance and didn't think to hesitate because she knew they would never be another chance. so now, her biggest fear was being caught and kidnapped a second time by the men of letters. so, she was just hoping and praying that her boyfriend cas, jack and her brothers would do everything in their powers of will to make sure it doesn't have the ability to happen again.

as she finally made her way up to the bunker, moments from entering it, she had found her best friend and nephilim, jack. he was just pacing around the front and it made her panic so, she drew her gun that she had stolen from the men of letters. grabbing the attention of the distressed nephilim, he calmed down in an instant at the sight of elodie, whom he thought had died on him and the rest of the group.

"...el...elodie?" jack stammered out as a smile spread on the girl's face as she cocked her gun back into her holster as she moved closer to the nephilim

"hey, jack..." she trailed off as a soft, relaxed expression found its way on her face - relaxation also finding its way on jack's face

"...what...what happened? who sold their soul...how are you-"

"-wait...wait, jack slow down...you...you thought i was dead?" it hadn't even occured in elodie's mind that her brothers, boyfriend and nephilim thought that whilst she was kidnapped by the men of letters that they had most likely manipulated them into thinking that she had died

jack just nodded his head solemnly as that broke elodie's heart in so many ways. how did that not even cross her mind at any one point during her kidnapping? she had only presumed that they were taking so long to find her, the group, because they just simply couldn't. never once did she consider the idea that they could have been told...manipulated...into believing that she was dead the entire time.

"yes, elodie. we...we weren't told anything as to where you could have been...where...where were you?" jack spluttered out, his head tilting as that hurt elodie - even worse was the fact that they weren't even told that she had been taken by the men of letters after all, it seemed as though they were no longer deemed as threats

"i...i was kidnapped by the men of letters. i...i was tortured every single day and...manipulated into thinking that you guys weren't ever going to see me again. and...and that you had been told that i had died...it was so painful and...and scary...i...i only escaped because i waited for the one chance to and i...i didn't look back..." elodie gulped as jack pulled the winchester in for a hug, letting her know that she was finally safe

but, also that he was so goddamn sorry that they didn't even try to look for her when they could have spent so much time and have found her a lot quicker than it would have taken elodie to come back.

"...we are so so sorry that we didn't try to look for you. we...we just assumed the worst and we just...we gave up trying to do anything," jack whispered as elodie nodded her head as her chest burned even more at the new revelation

"don't apologise jack, i'm here and i'm safe. for now, that's all that matters," elodie whispered as the two then pulled out of the hug as it was obvious that the two of them wanted to see the other three

"i bet the other three would want to see you," jack spoke as elodie smiled and nodded her head in agreement

"i bet they do, let's go," elodie smiled as they moved into the bunker

as they walked into the bunker, it seemed as though no one's attention was caught so, elodie decided to make sure to grab their attention.

"hey, assbutt!" elodie calls out, catching the attention of one of her brothers and her boyfriend

however, they froze in shock for a moment as they allowed both the nephilim and their sister/girlfriend to explain what was going on.

"dean, cas, before you go reaching for the salt or the gun, elodie was never dead like we thought. she was kidnapped..." before jack could finish the explanation, the two guys didn't care anymore

all they wanted...all they needed was to be in physical interaction with the girl that they thought was dead but was now actually alive and had been this entire time.

"...by the men of letters..." jack whispered as that caught dean's attention, pulling away from his sister

"...she was kidnapped by the men of letters? how...how in hells name did you even escape, elodie?" dean stammered in shock and confusion as the angel didn't want to let go of his girlfriend any time soon

"honestly, dean, i've got no freaking clue. i...i just saw my chance where they were all gone and i knew it would be my one and only...i loaded up on guns and weapons and i just ran. and i didn't stop running until i found my way back home...they...they could be trying to look for me and hunt me down right now to take me back..." elodie's eyes started to dart around the bunker's dining room as the men (minus sam) all nodded their heads as they watched elodie closely

"...don't even worry about them finding you again, okay? we'll keep you on lockdown here in the bunker for as long as needed until its safe for you to leave again, alright?" dean spoke sternly as elodie nodded her head - protection being the one thing that was on her mind right now

"i don't care dean, as long as they can't find me again, i'll do anything," she spoke small as dean nodded his head, pulling his sister in for another hug as that was when they finally realised sam wasn't with them

"wait...where...where's sammy?" elodie spoke up again with concern as the three guys realised and their hearts all broke - completely confusing elodie

"he's taken this whole thing the worst out of all of us. it's as though he hasn't stopped crying since it happened. all he does now is cry and sometimes, if we're lucky, sleep and that's it. he won't even let anyone into his bedroom, he's that distraught..." cas' small voice spoke up, making elodie's eyes tear up as she clenched her jaw to stop the tears from falling

"...in all honesty, it'll be a shock if he's even still alive considering we fear that he hasn't even been eating anything," jack perked up, following after cas as elodie shook her head in sadness that her brother would even do this to himself

"but...maybe...just hearing your voice could bring him out of his slump and out of his room?" dean suggested as it was hurting dean more than he cared to think or admit that his baby brother was closing himself off to the world with the thought that his sister was dead

"no, i think i'll go into his room and force him to believe the truth and ask him if he still thinks i'm dead," elodie decided as cas, jack and dean at first looked apprehensive but, thinking about it, that was the best idea out of any other idea

so that is exactly what the youngest winchester did. she left the trio in the living room and went upstairs to where she stood nervously in front of her, who she could hear, sobbing older brother's bedroom door. for a moment, she contemplated on the fact of knocking on his door but, she didn't and she just quietly opened it. hoping that sammy wouldn't majorly freak out but shocked at the same time that his door wasn't locked like she assumed it would have been as she tentatively placed her bobby pin back in her hair. the use of it no longer needed to pick at the lock.

however as elodie opened the door, she truly saw how distraught and torn her older brother was about what she had gone through in the past however long it was she had been gone for. it tore her heart into pieces to see him, her older six foot four brother sobbing and curling in on himself on his bed, tissues strewn all over the bedroom floor. his face as red as it had ever been as his tears covered his entire face as his body shook through every sob. his hair messy as his entire body trembled when loud sobs weren't the reason for the tremors.

"sam...sammy?" elodie whispered softy so as to not scare the living crap out of her brother as she slowly walked over to his bed

"go...go away...pl...please!" his small voice croaked out as elodie took in a deep breath knowing she had to be delicate about her approach to sam

"sammy, it's me...it's your sister, elly..." elodie trailed off, just hoping her small and soft spoken voice would help sam realise who it was in front of him

it was quiet, apart from the sobs, for a few moments until sam moved his head back and lifted his eyes to the door in front of him. to then be in front of his baby sister, the exact sister who he thought had been killed as he blinked furiously. wanting what he thought was a nightmare to end.

noticing that her brother was panicking from the nightmare he thought he was having, elodie immediately kicked her shoes off to where, she had no clue. and she squished herself onto the queen size bed next to her brother. holding her panicked, sobbing and distraught older brother into the comfort of her arms she tried her absolute hardest to calm him down. it didn't take too long until it seemed as though he had finally calmed down from the panicked nightmare but his tears kept flowing.

"...ssh, sammy, it's okay. i promise everything is okay, i'm right here and you know that i'm right here and you know that you are safe and that i am safe too..." elodie trailed off as she whispered over and over again to her brother that they were both safe and that this panic would soon subside

"...i...i thought you were de...dead...elodie..." sam cried out as he relaxed in his sister's tight embrace as the girl breathed calmly and nodded her head

"...the other three thought the same too. i...i was kidnapped by the men of letters...i...i have no clue how or why but, that's not something we have to worry about anymore because i'm safe. dean, cas and jack have all made sure that if they try to take me again that they won't even get the chance..." elodie trailed off as sam whimpered and nodded his head as he slowly started to believe in what his sister was saying

"...look at me sammy, look me right in my face and tell me you still think i'm dead and that i left you," elodie said to dean, cas and jack that she was going to ask this so she did and sam took deep breaths in and out before finally removing his head from his sister's shoulder and made direct eye contact with her

"you...you're not dead elodie....you...you didn't leave me..." sam choked out as that made elodie relax as she smiled and nodded her head, placing her hands on her brother's red and damp cheeks

"...yes sammy, i'm not dead and i didn't leave you. i'm never leaving you guys again! not today, not tomorrow, not next week, not ever!" elodie said sternly as sam let out a small sob as he nodded his head as elodie pulled the two of them in for a hug as they then fell back onto the bed

"i...i love you elodie..." sam whispered as elodie smiled

"...i love you too, sammy..."

"...and cut. well done guys, take five!"
