The Toronto Islands are a group of 15 small islands located in Lake Ontario, just south of downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They're a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike, offering a range of activities and attractions. To reach the islands, you'll need to hop on a ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal.

Once you arrive, you can enjoy biking around the island, visiting an amusement park, relaxing on the beach, trying delicious food, capturing stunning views of the Toronto skyline, exploring beautiful gardens, and even tying the knot!

Ferries operate year-round, shuttling visitors to and from Centre Island, Hanlan's Point, and Ward's Island. The ferry ride duration is around 8-9 minutes from Toronto Jack Layton Ferry Terminal.

a fox attacked the chickens this afternoon!

I heard the ladies screaming, so ran outside. Wormbecca was running circles yelling her head off, while Tallgeese just stood there placidly allowing herself to be dragged off. which is at least in character for her.

I chased the fox out of the yard with a shovel, locked Wormy in the coop, and then checked over Tallgeese for injuries. luckily, she doesn’t look to have any broken skin. Tallgeese is moulting at the moment, and is an incredibly fluffy bird, so all the fox managed to get was a mouthful of loose feathers. she has a new bald spot, which will probably be all sad and bruised tomorrow, but no broken bones, no tooth punctures, etc. we got extremely lucky!

I’ve never actually seen a wild fox before, so am hoping this guy is a passerby rather than a permanent resident. in any case, the ladies will be shut in the run for the next couple months - the fox can’t reach them through the chickenwire, and should hopefully learn that all it gets from this yard is an angry 6′2 torontonian with a shovel.

Upstairs George has also been promoted to chicken guardian (he gets to hold my shovel and everything). not sure how smart foxes are, but it can’t hurt.

I was walking through Toronto looking through puddles and found a blue-ringed octopus. Dream me decided to pick it up and throw it at a car.

Zoo sketching

I went to the zoo yesterday. Can't go without a sketchbook :)

I think the one I brought was too small though... anyways, still served its' purpose. I decided to pack lightly and draw with a pen only (added pencil shadows during down-time). Since it's been a while from the last time I drew seriously, this has pumped me up to keep drawing more.

This bear was napping, woke up and walked in front of us, pooped, and went to it's private room where the zookeeper was waiting. It was spectacular.

like i get the history and the struggle but sometimes i question if some leafs fans actually even like the team with the way they’re already writing them off in the playoffs.

part of what i love about being a sports fan is having blind faith in something, hoping for the very best, hoping that this time they do it, and willing on a group of dummies that i genuinely love dearly.

if you don’t have that feeling then i kinda don’t know what you get out of sports. like there’s enough in day to day life to be an eternal miserable pessimist about, i don’t wanna do it with sports.

also it’s the playoffs, literally anything can happen. sometimes it’s just dumb fucking luck.
