The History of Self Help
I love self help. Ever since I found my first set of cassette tapes from Tony Robbins in my step dad’s closet. Here is a short origin story and history of the industry. The quest for personal improvement and self-empowerment has been a fundamental part of the human experience throughout history. From ancient philosophical texts to modern-day self-help gurus, the concept of self-help has evolved…

Okay, hear me out!
So reader and Eddie go to a horror movie on a date right? Except Eddie thought it was a slasher, not like paranormal shit and that really scares him. Soooo, he has to call reader at like 1 am cause he keeps thinking that he sees something or hears something and can't sleep. 💋💋💋💋
I just wanna see poor baby Eddie all scared and get the cuddles he deserves.
I think we need to have some date nights where we watch paranormal movies 💋💋💋💋
Tumblr media
Y/N and Eddie were both freaks about Halloween. They loved it, and they loved all the dates that October would bring. They've done the haunted houses, hay rides, and pumpkin patches. They saw every horror film that hit the theaters.
And tonight, Y/N found another film for them to watch. Eddie agreed, not bothering to ask what it was. He can handle horror movies, and they always picked slasher films, so he wasn't worried.
Eddie wrapped his arm around Y/N as they settled in their seats. The popcorn was in his lap while they held their candy.
"What are we seeing anyway?' He asked, throwing a handful of popcorn in his mouth. He threw his feet on the seat in front of him.
"Some paranormal thingy," Y/N said, shrugging as they didn't give the movie much thought. But Eddie froze as he went to take a sip of his drink.
"as in demons and shit?" He asked, his voice was shaky which caused them to look up at him. They took in his nervous eyes and shaking foot.
"A little bit. I don't think it's much possession, just scary shit happening without an explanation." They tried to hide her smirk as he looked even more nervous.
The lights dimmed and Eddie gripped their shoulder.
~~~
Y/N didn't know a single thing that happened in the movie, and they were fine with that. They spent the whole time watching Eddie jump and hide at every jump scare. He even hid during parts that weren't meant to be scary. They have never seen Eddie so terrified. He'd watch murder with wide eyes and volume on a hundred. But now he had popcorn all over his lap and the floor, his eyes behind his jacket.
"So what did you think?" They teased, Eddie's hand gripping theirs. He was shuffling his feet close to them, not letting them get an inch ahead.
"It was dumb! If some demon was throwing my shit around, I'd be pissed." Eddie said, shaking his head. Y/N laughed and jumped in the van.
Eddie ranted about the film the whole way to Y/N's house. They laughed behind their hand at his lies. He declared that he'd show the demon who was in charge and that he'd never let a demon run him out of his own house.
"Sure you would, babe." They said, pecking his lips. They waved bye as they went into their house.
~~~
Y/N wasn't sure what time it was when Eddie called, they rubbed their eyes and reached for the phone.
"Hello?"
"There's a demon in my room!" Eddie whispered, his eyes looking around every corner of his room. He could feel his heart racing as another crack landed against his window.
"Eddie, there's nothing there. Demons aren't out to get you." They sighed.
"I can hear it whispering! Then it pounds on my window.....I'm scared." Eddie whispered
"Baby, it's okay. There's nothing there. I'm sure it's just the wind." They said through a yawn.
"And you know who said that? Tracy and she died!" Eddie panicked, and he slowly crept towards his window. He stood up slowly and looked out the window.
"That was fake! You're okay, and you're safe." Y/N said softly, "You have a big tree outside your window, I'm sure the branch is hitting it."
Eddie felt relief fill him when the branch smacked against the window, the sound the same as before.
"You're right. Thank you, baby." He sighed, hanging up the phone. He shook his head and got back in bed. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, then snapped them open. He quickly turned on his lamp. The extra light gave him comfort as he closed his eyes again.
~~~
Eddie threw the covers over his head as he heard sounds everywhere. The sound of feet walking on the gravel, the footsteps creaking on the stairs leading to his trailer, and the doorknob wiggling. He swore he could hear the sound of his front door creeping open, the squeak of the hinges.
"Eddie, Eddieeeeee?" A voice called out in a whisper
"Please let me live," Eddie said out loud, still buried underneath his blankets.
Eddie let out a high-pitched scream when the blanket was pulled from his head, his eyes shut as he screamed over and over.
"BABY ITS ME!" Y/N screamed, standing right next to the lamp.
Eddie snapped open his eyes and closed his mouth as he saw Y/N standing there. His heart racing as he smacked their arm
"YOU SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME!" He yelled, giving them a glare
Y/N crossed their arms and gave Eddie a look, "I'm sorry. But drop the glare or I'll go right back home and let the demon get you."
Eddie quickly softened his eyes and grabbed Y/N. Yanking them on the bed as he hid in their neck. Y/N laughed but wrapped their arms around him. They placed a soft kiss on his head and rubbed his back.
"See, you're safe," Y/N said, looking down at their adorable terrified boyfriend.
"Don't leave," Eddie muttered against their skin.
"Never would"
Enjoy!
(If you're the master of a listed audio/video, please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you want me to remove your stuff from the list.)
POTO audios
Michael Crawford, Rebecca Caine (alt.), Steve Barton October 10, 1987; London Michael Crawford and Steve Barton's last in London. Soundboard, very good quality, and this one is complete. And Rebecca Caine sounds amazing in it (as she always does). https://www.mediafire.com/file/pttrjfqzb84gatm/POTO_West_End_10-10-1987_-_Crawford%252C_Caine%252C_Barton.rar/file Steve Barton, Rebecca Luker, Gary Lindemenn (u/s),  Marilyn Caskey, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Leila Martin September 26, 1990; Broadway Soundboard audio. Because Steve Barton was almost as good of a Phantom as he was as Raoul, and Rebecca Luker is a legend (RIP). https://www.mediafire.com/file/xc9ywojtdesptje/POTO_Broadway_26-09-1990_-_Barton%252C_Luker%252C_Lindemenn.rar/file Davis Gaines, Tracy Shayne, Matthew R. POTO videos
Earl Carpenter, Rachel Barrell, David Shannon, Wendy Ferguson, David Lawrence (u/s), Sam Hiller, Emily Harvey (u/s), Heidi Ann O'Brien, Rohan Tickell January 2006 VOB format.  If you want to see Earl in London right now but can't... this video is the best quality overall that features him, and Rachel Barrell is a fantastic Christine - one of my favorites in the role. https://mega.nz/folder/u09GQKyR#gjNHj4Letd9YInTsuLowjA Gary Mauer, Elizabeth Southard, Jim Weitzer, Kim Stengel, John Jellison, DC Anderson, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Kate Wray, John Whitney April 6, 2006; Dallas VOB format.  For my Eristine moots (I see you!): Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard were (and as far as I know, still are) married while performing as the Phantom and Christine, and you thought Ramin and Sierra's chemistry was off the charts, think again. https://mega.nz/folder/PtExxS5A#D4yyf2g_lXoN-cIDPkMU2Q Anthony Crivello, Kristi Holden, Andrew Ragone, Geena Jeffries Mattox, John Leslie Wolfe, Lawson Skala, Tina Walsh, Brianne Kelly Morgan, Larry Wayne Morbitt August 8, 2008; Las Vegas VOB format. This is the Las Vegas Spectacular production, which is abriged compared to the original but totally worth seeing. If you want to understand why I love Meg Giry so much, Brianne Kelly Morgan is one of the best I've ever seen in the role. Also, if you’re meh about Raoul... with Andrew Ragone, think again. He’s one of the most Superman/Clark Kent Raouls I’ve seen. And I really like Kristi Holden’s Leroux-esque Christine too.  https://mega.nz/folder/Sh1zxSAB#twtXau8Y8pd_L9tMQLa4Mg Jeremy Stolle (u/s), Samantha Hill, Greg Mills (u/s), Michele McConnell, Tim Jerome, Richard Poole (u/s), Ellen Harvey, Kara Klein, Christian Sebek March 9, 2013 VOB format. Missing part of Act 1 (‘Stranger Than You Dreamt It’ to Il Muto), but otherwise complete. This is one of the best trios I've seen on Broadway, and Samantha Hill is just a fantastic Christine overall. https://mega.nz/folder/y1slyJRD#OP1Tp5Cj_fMk9LbAWJMqAA Tomas Ambt Kofod, Sibylle Glosted, Christian Lund, Louise Fribo, Carl Christian Rasmussen, Sebastian Harris, Elisabeth Halling, Imogen-Lilly Ash, Rasmus Jupin March 2019; Copenhagen VOB format. This one is more recent, but given it's been uploaded on YouTube, I guess it's fine to gift it (again, if you’re the master and you want me to remove this, please let me know).This one has one of the best casts ever caught on tape. Seriously. Everyone in this is a star. https://mega.nz/folder/q40hTagI#Zui14MWo-F2YSQ0gNdaL6Q
Les Mis Audios
Colm Wilkinson, Roger Allam, Patti LuPone, Alun Armstrong, Sue Jane Tanner, Michael Ball, Frances Ruffele, Rebecca Caine, David Burt 1985; London Preview at the Barbican Centre. Elisabeth das Musical
Original Cast Recording (1992) Pia Douwes, Uwe Kroeger, Ethan Freeman, Andreas Bieber, Viktor Gernot, Else Ludwig https://www.mediafire.com/file/fagi9ctooeq2y11/Elisabeth-Original_German_Cast.rar/file Vienna revival cast recording (2006)  Maya Hakvoort, Mate Kamaras, Serkan Kaya, André Bauer, Fritz Schmid, Else Ludwig https://www.mediafire.com/file/7wpqbotp8oszzz3/Elisabeth_-_2006_Vienna_Cast.rar/file
Sweeney Todd
2000 Concert Cast Recording George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Davis Gaines, Heidi Grant Murphy, Paul Plishka, Audra McDonald, Standford Olsen, Neil Patrick Harris, John Aler Pretty sure this isn't on Spotify, which is a real shame given its cast. So enjoy! EDIT: Someone pointed out to me that the recording is incomplete - probably a result of the Great Hardware Crash of 2016, so until I get the full version, this will probably stay incomplete. Sorry about that! https://www.mediafire.com/file/ywoiqe5bnlzr7bs/Sweeney_Todd_2000_New_York_Concert_Cast.rar/file
Non mi hai delusa, sono stata io a sopravvalutarti.
A darti quell'importanza che non meritavi.
A regalarti il cuore,sicura che lo avresti amato, protetto e curato.
Che avresti reso di un gesto semplice un sorriso.
Non mi hai delusa,sono stata io ad aspettarti invano cercando sempre un appiglio dove aggrapparmi.
E poi capire che ogni discorso era fine a se stesso,per il tuo massimo bene..e non per il mio.
Non ho bisogno delle tue scuse, mi chiedo scusa da sola. Per averti creduto, per averti pensato migliore, per averti dato le più belle parti di me.
Per averti dato spesso, un unguento per la tua anima .
Per ogni volta che l'amore mi univa a te,senza sapere che ero solo un pasto per il tuo palato.
Non mi hai delusa...mi hai solo insegnato ad essere più forte.
Tutte le emozioni belle che ti ho regalato tu...non le meritavi.
Io Tracy
Edgar Valden X Reader!
This is an Edgar Valden X Gender Neutral Reader! (No Plan, Just Write!)
Tumblr media
It's been three weeks since you've been living in The Oletus Manor, & in those weeks, you make friends with Luca Balsa, Tracy Reznik, Victor Grantz, Matthias Czernin, Andrew Kreiss & Demi Bourbon. Since the moment Edgar Valden introduced himself, you were hoping to get to know him better. You're not completely sure why. Today, after lunch, you went to the room with a ton of different art stuff, hoping to talk with Edgar. You didn't see him or The Wax Artist, which is very weird. They are almost always in here. You decide to grab some papers and pencils & start drawing. On the first piece of paper, you wad just some cute little drawings. You had been sketching for a little bit before you hear someone say: "I didn't know you could draw!" You look up to see Edgar looking at your first page.
".. E-Edgar!? Can I h-have that back please?" You can't look at him. You wouldn't have cared if it was one of your more detailed drawings. "..They're really cute. .. and I'm not being judgmental or sarcastic., I mean it." You can't think straight, did he really just compliment your silly little drawings. You feel the heat rise to your cheeks. ".. th-thank you." You still can't look at him. "..*huum* They are kind of cute when they're flustered. Hahe" Philippe said as he walked past. You sink into your chair. "*hum* .. Philippe, don't say shit like that. .. Hay, Y/N, .. do you want to come to my room to talk in private?" "..ok" You say as you get up & follow him into his room. On the way, he says: "sorry about him. ... can I see the other peace you were working on?" You looked up at him. He as a warm, small smile.
You quickly look away & hand him the drawing. He carefully takes the paper from you & quickly looks at your sketch. After a little while, he said: "You're pretty good, I like it." You look up a little to see he's handing you the sketch back. You take it & say: ".Th-Thanks." He opens the door for you & then closes it behind him. ".. y-you really like the stupid little drawings?" He approaches you & says: "Yes, I wouldn't lie about that." He puts a hand on your shoulder & gently rubs it. You look up at him to see that same smile & quickly look away. ".. Oh! We haven't really talked too much before that, right,... do you always draw in your free time, or do you have any other hobbies?"
You look up at him with a small smile. "Not really, you?" "Pinting is all I really know how to do. Do you have a favorite animal or plant." You answer with your favorite animal/s &/or plant/s. "*hum* Interesting. Do you have a favorite season?" You answer with your favorite season. "..it's almost time for dinner, do you want to sit with me?" "Of course." You answer a little bit too eagerly. "Haha ok, shall we get going then." He offers his hand to you & you take it. He continued to ask more stuff about you at dinner. You were happy to learn a little bit more about him. After you both finish eating, you two continued to talk. You didn't even notice that you were following him to his room until he opened his door. "..Oh.. uumm G-good night Edgar!" You go to turn around, but you feel his hand on your shoulder. "Wait! ... c-can you spend the night with me. I promise I won't do anything inappropriate with you. .. I might try to cuddle you, though."
You started there, wide-eyed & blushing. ".. y-you want to cuddle with me!?" "Only if you want, I'm not going to force you to do something you don't want to." You laugh a little just how fast he said that. You never thought you'd make him nervous. ".. d-don't laugh, I'm serious, if you-" "I'll send the night with you." You say as you walk past him into his room. ".. .. y-you will!?" He turns around to see you already lying down on his bed facing him. You see him walk over to the other side of his bed with a small smile on his face. He gets into bed with you & and spoons you. "You're really ok with this, Y/N?" "Yes Edgar, I am! Good night!~" He hugs you a little tighter. "Night, Y/N!"
End!
It's 2:42am!
Promise
“No!” Alan’s shout rang through the house, causing several heads to peek out from their respective rooms. “You can’t leave. You promised me you wouldn’t!”
The door slammed behind him, leaving a stunned eldest brother staring blankly at nothing. Virgil appeared from his room, hair rumpled and paintbrush tucked behind his ear. “What was that about?”
Scott startled. “I was just telling him I was going to be leaving for college in a few weeks. I didn’t think it would be such a big deal. I’ll be close enough that I can come home on weekends and breaks, so I won’t even be gone for that long. He’s just overreacting.”
Virgil shook his head at his brother. “Scott, of course he’s overreacting. The last time someone in his family left, she didn’t come back. And now you’re saying you’re going to leave him too. He doesn’t understand. All he knows is you promised you wouldn’t leave him, and now you’re breaking that promise.”
Scott sighed. Memories filled his mind of a hysterical baby brother, desperately calling for his mama. A promise made to calm the tears, a promise that Scott had no intention of breaking.
“I have to go after him! He’s right. I did promise. I’m not trying to break my promise, but I do need him to understand. I’m not leaving him, not truly.”
Virgil nodded, clapping his brother on the back. “Sounds like you’ve got this handled. Go fix it!”
Scott jogged out of the house, heading towards the most likely place for Alan to have fled. The barn had been the hiding place for upset Tracys for generations.
As he entered, he had to squint to see in the dim lighting. “Alan?” He called softly.
His brother didn’t answer, but he could hear muffled sobbing coming from the hayloft. The ladder was old and rickety, and Scott clung tightly to the rungs as he climbed up after his baby brother.
“Alan?” He could see the bright red sneakers sticking out from behind the hay, but wanted to give his brother the chance to initiate the conversation. If Alan wasn’t ready to listen, he wasn’t ready to talk.
He sat there silently for a while, counting the spider webs hanging from the beams to keep himself from fidgeting. It took a long time before Alan came scooting closer, silently tucking himself beneath Scott’s arm. Scott drew him closer, letting him rest close for a few minutes before he spoke.
“You promised you wouldn’t ever leave me.” He whispered.
“I know, Squirt. And I know this feels like I am leaving you. I’ll come home every weekend, and whenever we have a holiday, and if you ask nicely, I’m sure one of your brothers will fly you down to visit me. And you can call me whenever you want.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.” Scott stood, wrapping his arms around Alan. “I love you and I always-“
Scott had forgotten to watch where he was standing, and stepped backwards off the edge of the loft, sending them both tumbling down off the ledge.
The impact knocked the wind from both of them, and it was a moment before either of them were able to move. Alan recovered first, sending up a piercing cry.
Startled from his work for the second time that day, Virgil came running out of the house. He scooped Alan off the ground, checking quickly for any injuries. After he was satisfied that the boy was unharmed, he turned to Scott.
Scott had taken the brunt of the fall, twisting midair to ensure he hit the ground first. Blood was running from a cut on his forehead, and his leg was bent at a weird angle.
Virgil sent Alan running to the house for Grandma while he attempted to stem the bleeding. “What were you thinking?” He demanded.
“I wasn’t thinking about anything. I was just trying to make sure my brother didn’t hate me. I wasn’t worried about anything else.”
“Well, next time you’re climbing around in the barn, please save a little part of your brain to watch your step.”
“I think I can do that.” Scott forced a smile, although it looked more like a pained grimace. Grandma arrived, quickly taking command of the situation and getting Scott moved into the car. A quick trip to the hospital later, and Scott was home, leg secured in a bright blue cast and with strict orders not to walk on it for at least a week.
And as much as he chafed at the forced inaction, the ability to spend some more time with his brother was taken full advantage of.
Before I hit the hay, just wanted to thank everyone for the massive amount of interest in the blog in such a short amount of time. Happy that a lot of you seem to like Tracy and Madam D, and I assure you there shall be manyyyyyyy more fattening antics from the both of them. This blog is going to feature a lot of extreme sizes, mainly because it's not something I do that often. Regardless, thank you all again for the interest, I shall be around for more dangerously fat women tomorrow.
