In February 1994, in the grand ballroom of the town hall in Hamburg, Germany, the president of Estonia gave a remarkable speech. Standing before an audience in evening dress, Lennart Meri praised the values of the democratic world that Estonia then aspired to join. “The freedom of every individual, the freedom of the economy and trade, as well as the freedom of the mind, of culture and science, are inseparably interconnected,” he told the burghers of Hamburg. “They form the prerequisite of a viable democracy.” His country, having regained its independence from the Soviet Union three years earlier, believed in these values: “The Estonian people never abandoned their faith in this freedom during the decades of totalitarian oppression.”
But Meri had also come to deliver a warning: Freedom in Estonia, and in Europe, could soon be under threat. Russian President Boris Yeltsin and the circles around him were returning to the language of imperialism, speaking of Russia as primus inter pares—the first among equals—in the former Soviet empire. In 1994, Moscow was already seething with the language of resentment, aggression, and imperial nostalgia; the Russian state was developing an illiberal vision of the world, and even then was preparing to enforce it. Meri called on the democratic world to push back: The West should “make it emphatically clear to the Russian leadership that another imperialist expansion will not stand a chance.”
At that, the deputy mayor of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Putin, got up and walked out of the hall.
Meri’s fears were at that time shared in all of the formerly captive nations of Central and Eastern Europe, and they were strong enough to persuade governments in Estonia, Poland, and elsewhere to campaign for admission to NATO. They succeeded because nobody in Washington, London, or Berlin believed that the new members mattered. The Soviet Union was gone, the deputy mayor of St. Petersburg was not an important person, and Estonia would never need to be defended. That was why neither Bill Clinton nor George W. Bush made much attempt to arm or reinforce the new NATO members. Only in 2014 did the Obama administration finally place a small number of American troops in the region, largely in an effort to reassure allies after the first Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Nobody else anywhere in the Western world felt any threat at all. For 30 years, Western oil and gas companies piled into Russia, partnering with Russian oligarchs who had openly stolen the assets they controlled. Western financial institutions did lucrative business in Russia too, setting up systems to allow those same Russian kleptocrats to export their stolen money and keep it parked, anonymously, in Western property and banks. We convinced ourselves that there was no harm in enriching dictators and their cronies. Trade, we imagined, would transform our trading partners. Wealth would bring liberalism. Capitalism would bring democracy—and democracy would bring peace.
After all, it had happened before. Following the cataclysm of 1939–45, Europeans had indeed collectively abandoned wars of imperial, territorial conquest. They stopped dreaming of eliminating one another. Instead, the continent that had been the source of the two worst wars the world had ever known created the European Union, an organization designed to find negotiated solutions to conflicts and promote cooperation, commerce, and trade. Because of Europe’s metamorphosis—and especially because of the extraordinary transformation of Germany from a Nazi dictatorship into the engine of the continent’s integration and prosperity—Europeans and Americans alike believed that they had created a set of rules that would preserve peace not only on their own continents, but eventually in the whole world.
This liberal world order relied on the mantra of “Never again.” Never again would there be genocide. Never again would large nations erase smaller nations from the map. Never again would we be taken in by dictators who used the language of mass murder. At least in Europe, we would know how to react when we heard it.
But while we were happily living under the illusion that “Never again” meant something real, the leaders of Russia, owners of the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, were reconstructing an army and a propaganda machine designed to facilitate mass murder, as well as a mafia state controlled by a tiny number of men and bearing no resemblance to Western capitalism. For a long time—too long—the custodians of the liberal world order refused to understand these changes. They looked away when Russia “pacified” Chechnya by murdering tens of thousands of people. When Russia bombed schools and hospitals in Syria, Western leaders decided that that wasn’t their problem. When Russia invaded Ukraine the first time, they found reasons not to worry. Surely Putin would be satisfied by the annexation of Crimea. When Russia invaded Ukraine the second time, occupying part of the Donbas, they were sure he would be sensible enough to stop.
Even when the Russians, having grown rich on the kleptocracy we facilitated, bought Western politicians, funded far-right extremist movements, and ran disinformation campaigns during American and European democratic elections, the leaders of America and Europe still refused to take them seriously. It was just some posts on Facebook; so what? We didn’t believe that we were at war with Russia. We believed, instead, that we were safe and free, protected by treaties, by border guarantees, and by the norms and rules of the liberal world order.
With the third, more brutal invasion of Ukraine, the vacuity of those beliefs was revealed. The Russian president openly denied the existence of a legitimate Ukrainian state: “Russians and Ukrainians,” he said, “were one people—a single whole.” His army targeted civilians, hospitals, and schools. His policies aimed to create refugees so as to destabilize Western Europe. “Never again” was exposed as an empty slogan while a genocidal plan took shape in front of our eyes, right along the European Union’s eastern border. Other autocracies watched to see what we would do about it, for Russia is not the only nation in the world that covets its neighbors’ territory, that seeks to destroy entire populations, that has no qualms about the use of mass violence. North Korea can attack South Korea at any time, and has nuclear weapons that can hit Japan. China seeks to eliminate the Uyghurs as a distinct ethnic group, and has imperial designs on Taiwan.
We can’t turn the clock back to 1994, to see what would have happened had we heeded Lennart Meri’s warning. But we can face the future with honesty. We can name the challenges and prepare to meet them.
There is no natural liberal world order, and there are no rules without someone to enforce them. Unless democracies defend themselves together, the forces of autocracy will destroy them. I am using the word forces, in the plural, deliberately. Many American politicians would understandably prefer to focus on the long-term competition with China. But as long as Russia is ruled by Putin, then Russia is at war with us too. So are Belarus, North Korea, Venezuela, Iran, Nicaragua, Hungary, and potentially many others. We might not want to compete with them, or even care very much about them. But they care about us. They understand that the language of democracy, anti-corruption, and justice is dangerous to their form of autocratic power—and they know that that language originates in the democratic world, our world.
This fight is not theoretical. It requires armies, strategies, weapons, and long-term plans. It requires much closer allied cooperation, not only in Europe but in the Pacific, Africa, and Latin America. NATO can no longer operate as if it might someday be required to defend itself; it needs to start operating as it did during the Cold War, on the assumption that an invasion could happen at any time. Germany’s decision to raise defense spending by 100 billion euros is a good start; so is Denmark’s declaration that it too will boost defense spending. But deeper military and intelligence coordination might require new institutions—perhaps a voluntary European Legion, connected to the European Union, or a Baltic alliance that includes Sweden and Finland—and different thinking about where and how we invest in European and Pacific defense.
If we don’t have any means to deliver our messages to the autocratic world, then no one will hear them. Much as we assembled the Department of Homeland Security out of disparate agencies after 9/11, we now need to pull together the disparate parts of the U.S. government that think about communication, not to do propaganda but to reach more people around the world with better information and to stop autocracies from distorting that knowledge. Why haven’t we built a Russian-language television station to compete with Putin’s propaganda? Why can’t we produce more programming in Mandarin—or Uyghur? Our foreign-language broadcasters—Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia, Radio Martí in Cuba—need not only money for programming but a major investment in research. We know very little about Russian audiences—what they read, what they might be eager to learn.
Funding for education and culture needs rethinking too. Shouldn’t there be a Russian-language university, in Vilnius or Warsaw, to house all the intellectuals and thinkers who have just left Moscow? Don’t we need to spend more on education in Arabic, Hindi, Persian? So much of what passes for cultural diplomacy runs on autopilot. Programs should be recast for a different era, one in which, though the world is more knowable than ever before, dictatorships seek to hide that knowledge from their citizens.
Trading with autocrats promotes autocracy, not democracy. Congress has made some progress in recent months in the fight against global kleptocracy, and the Biden administration was right to put the fight against corruption at the heart of its political strategy. But we can go much further, because there is no reason for any company, property, or trust ever to be held anonymously. Every U.S. state, and every democratic country, should immediately make all ownership transparent. Tax havens should be illegal. The only people who need to keep their houses, businesses, and income secret are crooks and tax cheats.
We need a dramatic and profound shift in our energy consumption, and not only because of climate change. The billions of dollars we have sent to Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia have promoted some of the worst and most corrupt dictators in the world. The transition from oil and gas to other energy sources needs to happen with far greater speed and decisiveness. Every dollar spent on Russian oil helps fund the artillery that fires on Ukrainian civilians.
Take democracy seriously. Teach it, debate it, improve it, defend it. Maybe there is no natural liberal world order, but there are liberal societies, open and free countries that offer a better chance for people to live useful lives than closed dictatorships do. They are hardly perfect; our own has deep flaws, profound divisions, terrible historical scars. But that’s all the more reason to defend and protect them. Few of them have existed across human history; many have existed for a time and then failed. They can be destroyed from the outside, but from the inside, too, by divisions and demagogues.
Perhaps, in the aftermath of this crisis, we can learn something from the Ukrainians. For decades now, we’ve been fighting a culture war between liberal values on the one hand and muscular forms of patriotism on the other. The Ukrainians are showing us a way to have both. As soon as the attacks began, they overcame their many political divisions, which are no less bitter than ours, and they picked up weapons to fight for their sovereignty and their democracy. They demonstrated that it is possible to be a patriot and a believer in an open society, that a democracy can be stronger and fiercer than its opponents. Precisely because there is no liberal world order, no norms and no rules, we must fight ferociously for the values and the hopes of liberalism if we want our open societies to continue to exist.

we know what time it is by now!
impermanent attachment quote log!
I hope everyone knows these are just things I copied for whatever reason, either funny moving sad idk
“I… might be?” Shuichi shrugged helplessly, letting his shoulders slump in defeat.
“It doesn’t make sense, though. Time loops cannot exist in real life.”
“That’s what every protagonist of a time loop says at first,” Tsumugi informed him sympathetically.
Everything was okay, and his spirits weren’t entirely crushed; only mostly.
“I… might be?” Shuichi shrugged helplessly, letting his shoulders slump in defeat. “It doesn’t make sense, though. Time loops cannot exist in real life.”“That’s what every protagonist of a time loop says at first,” Tsumugi informed him sympathetically.
Everything was okay, and his spirits weren’t entirely crushed; only mostly.
Kaito’s voice drew Shuichi back into reality, and he remembered that oh yeah, this conversation was important.
Kokichi, somebody who had intrigued him for the entire killing game, wasn’t the evil, despicable person he tried to make himself out to be
“Do you want to die?” Shuichi snapped at the boy behind him, lowering his voice to not be heard by his friends. “Knock it off, Kokichi.”
“Shuichi,” Kokichi said sweetly, slowly turning to face him. There was a pleasant smile on his face, but his words were anything but. “I am really, really mad at you right now.”You know what? Screw maintaining his composure.
“Kill me?” Kokichi echoed. “My dear Shuichi… was planning to kill me? Why is the entire Kaito Fanclub after me– what are you doing?”
Shuichi woke up feeling less rested than before. Also, he immediately threw up.
Ch4 oh when I get you ch4. /t
Kokichi was torn between figuring that oh, so he’s totally lost it and wondering what on earth happened to his favorite person in this academy.
“I’d like to see you get shot in the fucking arm!” Kaito barked at him, providing the exact opposite argument Kokichi was trying to make.
“Hey! You got shot and I got shot by your dogs. We’re matching now!” Kokichi exclaimed simply to be obnoxious. He had to cope in some way.
“But I can’t reach the one on my back,” Kokichi whined. “Unless you want me to break my arms trying to reach it?”“I’ll remove it if it’ll shut you up,” Maki offered upon her return.“You’d probably stab me in the throat or something,” Kokichi scoffed haughtily, briefly allowing his resentment towards her to shine through.
Not sure what that “time loop” business is about, though. Is Shuichi mentally ill?
“I’m building bonds by being loveable, Kaito,” Kokichi whispered back. “I’m reverse Stockholming him, so give me a bit, will ya?”
Kaito looked genuinely baffled. “He didn’t kidnap you! And I don’t think Stockholm Syndrome works like that.”“Well what do you want me to call it? Seduction?” he challenged simply to see the look on Kaito’s face. As a fun bonus, Maki’s, too. And the way Shuichi was staring at him was pretty funny, too.
“I thought it was weird when you said that,” Maki agreed simply. “But I didn’t bring it up because I thought you were delusional.”Okay, a little blunt there, but Maki wasn’t one to beat around the bush. Shuichi seemed to think this too, because although he looked wounded by her remark, he didn’t totally break down over it.
Letting him just talk about it was the best solution Kokichi could think of. Keeping everything bottled up inside wasn’t healthy (and he did not want to hear a WORD about his own habits, thank you), especially not for someone as, in the nicest way possible, sensitive as Shuichi.
But over and over again… because Maki poisoned her… her stupid arrows… Strike-9 fucking hurts, okay? It feels like your entire body hates you.
That was going to be so embarrassing to share– Kokichi Ouma! Held at gunpoint! Ugh. There might not be much damage control he could do for this one.
Kokichi automatically cringed. “She is not my beloved Junko. I would never call any woman my beloved. Also, sorry, the name doesn’t really ring a bell.”
And no, the small, reassured smile Shuichi gave him in response to this small gesture did not make his heart flutter like a stupid moth. Not the time, MOTH.
“You’re quick to trust me,” Kokichi teased.“I don’t trust you as far as I can throw you,” Kaito corrected him, looking alarmed by the mere notion. “You’re still an annoying piece of shit, and you’re still responsible for Miu and Gonta. But I don’t want to fight you if it means somebody’s gonna die.”“I’ll try to refrain from strangling you,” Maki added graciously. “At least, not until I know if you’re really the mastermind or not.”
“Well, now I just plainly feel bad…”“You would feel bad, huh?”“Wh-What does that mean?”“Ignore him. Kokichi’s just being an asshole because he knows no one is going to punch him.”
Kaito was surprised because, you know, Exisal. Kokichi was surprised because he couldn’t figure out where the fuck that thing had come from.
Kokichi was very prideful, but that wouldn’t stop him from admitting that dealing with the certified “training trio” or whatever they had going on in their stupid three-way make-out dynamic.
“Just do it!” Kaito unexpectedly shouted at him from the open doorway. “I don’t care if you’re the mastermind or not, you can’t let Shuichi kill himself. Block the damn door!”
There was no way this thing wasn’t drugged. The worst part was that he couldn’t tell if Shuichi was trying to be sneaky about it or not.
Yes, what a wonderful idea it was to antagonize the mentally unstable guy waving around a loaded firearm. What a stroke of genius on Kokichi’s part.
Oh… is that what we’re doing?” Kokichi chuckled, hoping his laughter hid how truly nervous he felt, gazing at the handcuffs. “Am I being arrested? Aww… I was hoping you’d at least take me to dinner, first…”
Third?” Kokichi gasped melodramatically. “I’m not even first? Wow, Shuichi… I thought what we had was special…”
Kokichi tried not to cringe as it carelessly clattered on the ground. She could at least try to respect one of Miu’s inventions, even if the girl herself had done little to deserve it.
He wanted Tsumugi in the ground.
Hell, he had two Electrobombs hidden in his scarf as well. Maybe he should get a sparkly purse or something– he can make it checker themed.
Fuck, fuck, fuck–
Despite how dizzy he felt, he slapped away K1-B0’s hand– or at least tried to. His aim was a tiny bit sloppy. It had its intended effect though, because K1-B0 released him.“Kokichi, are you okay?” Tsumugi asked him anxiously. “You look plainly concussed…”
“What Kokichi are you talking about?” Kokichi demanded with a glare at the robot. “What gave you the impression I cared at all?”“You…” K1-B0 helplessly trailed off, seeming to realize there was no point in arguing. “You are very confusing to me.”
“Work together with the mastermind?” Kokichi couldn’t help but scoff. “Were you dropped on your head as a baby?”
He was laying his soul bare in this thing, which meant that should anyone see this, they would know him better than he knew himself.
Yes!” he blurted out eagerly. He didn’t mean to interrupt them, but… Kokichi. “Yes, I’ll help!”
And wouldn’t you know it, Kokichi punched him in the face.
Usually that would have put off Shuichi– eyes were something he still struggled with, and people like Kokichi and Maki’s eyes– so secretive and cold– were hard to look at sometimes.
But even if his body was weak, Kaito sure wasn’t going to let that stop him. Oh no. That was like trying to stop an airplane going with your bare hands.
“Cats, Shuichi, same thing,” Kokichi waved him off. “He’s obviously three cats in a trench coat! That’s why he’s wearing that thing!”
“What? Are you enamored, Kaito? Have you fallen head over heels for me?” Kokichi immediately started teasing him. “Sooorry, my heart belongs to someone else.”
“Ew…” Kokichi cringed. “Everybody say thank you Shuichi for taking one for the team and not putting us through that! ♪”
“I remember biting someone,” Kokichi offered gleefully.“Of course you do,” Maki muttered disbelievingly.
“I’ll forgive you ‘cause the mental image of you with a gun is hilarious,” Kokichi cut in, his hands placed idly behind his head.
She was still glaring at Kokichi as if he dropped babies on their heads for fun, but it seemed like her dislike for him was outweighed by Kaito’s cheerful and powerful charm.
To be hugged by Kaede– oh, she was so warm.
“Hey, good on you, man!” Kaito praised him. “And if you try any more messed up things like that, we’ll whack you back into reality.”
“Fuck you mean, not holding any grudges!? Hell yeah I’m holding a grudge!” Miu barked, swiveling her glare towards Kokichi and Gonta. “What the hell was that supposed to be you shota cunt!?”
“You’re lucky my legs don’t work,” Miu seethed. “I’d come over there and shove my fist so far down your throat you’d be coughing up keratin for the rest of your life!”“Your fist probably tastes like cum and oil, because being a filthy whore and making things is all you seem to be good for,” Kokichi shot back defensively.
Shuichi stormed into the hangar, and guess what? He held us all at gunpoint!”Nearby, Kiyo choked on his drink.
“You know what? I’ll just ask him myself,” Kaede decided. “Honestly, Kokichi. You make everything so confusing all the time.”Kokichi only offered her a grin. “I know.”
“I’m expressing my artistic side in this notebook Ms. Mister Therapist gave me,” Kokichi told him cheerfully. “I’m what they call a flight risk in the industry.”
“Well, everything that comes out of your mouth tends to be pretty angering,” Rantaro pointed out coolly. “You’re pretty fond of provoking people, and with this kind of news, we need the opposite of that.”
“...noooo but also oh yeahhh whoopee. Joy. Right, Shuichi? Shu? Shui?” That boy sighed. “Man, you make a cool nickname for me or whatever but I can’t think of anything. What would I have said? Maybe… Shu? Shuchuu train? How’s that?”
how about I start fusing our names? How does Shukichi sound? Saiouma? Wait, that’d probably go to our child, nevermind…”
“Kaede’s going to freak, by the way,” Kokichi informed him, as if what just happened was totally normal and casual. “And Kaito owes her twenty bucks now. Hey, can we make out in front of him?”
“The first thing I did when you woke up was confess my love to you. I just kissed you and you’re asking me that? Do I need to propose to you, too? Yes, we can be boyfriends, Shuichi. You don’t even have to fight my seven evil exes!”
tipped you over the edge but everything else adds up. Dealing with that can't be easy, especially if no one remembers and especially if k*ito keeps saying dumb shit all the time. My degree in psychology and 42 years on the field tells me that this is baaad bad. (The censor made le laugh way toi hard)
And everyone who wasn't alive for the crap i pulled still doesn't like me anyway either because i'm an asshole or because everyone elses behavior is putting them off.
maki and kaito are really worried, so you should talk to them. also kokichi i guess. kaede says he's in love with you. if love is what stops you from killing yourself then you guys should smooch. that’s just what i think though.
miu- don't kill yourself again dipshit
Also please tell me if Kaede is right or not. I don't have 20 bucks to give her if she is, and you can do way better than Kokichi. Please anyone but Kokichi.
“HEY! You can’t kiss my sidekicks!”“What?” Maki demanded.“No, but I can kiss my boyfriendddd,” Kokichi sang triumphantly.“BOYFRIEND!?”

A Lasting Note: How Kate Bush’s 1979 Tour Continues to Inspire Artists and Entrepreneurs
Kate Bush's 1979 tour, undertaken at the pivotal age of 21, not only cemented her status in the music industry but also highlighted her trailblazing approach to artistic vision, innovation, and personal growth. Her meticulous preparations and introspective reflections, provides a compelling case study for emerging artists and entrepreneurs. This narrative thread of dedication, creative problem-solving, and balanced ambition weaves a rich tapestry of lessons, underscoring the importance of authenticity, innovation, and self-awareness in navigating the intricacies of creative and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Bush's resolute grip on the tour's creative direction, collaborated with her brothers and a team of professionals, is a testament to her visionary leadership, particularly noteworthy given her youth. This unwavering commitment to artistic integrity serves as a poignant reminder for artists and entrepreneurs to prioritize their unique vision, ensuring the final product remains an unadulterated reflection of their creativity and values. By doing so, they can navigate the often-treacherous landscape of industry pressures and external influences, emerging with work that is both personally fulfilling and authentically innovative.
The bespoke vocal sound system developed to harmonize Bush's singing and dancing epitomizes her innovative ethos, transforming a potential impediment into a hallmark of her theatrical performances. This willingness to pioneer novel solutions in response to challenges is a crucial takeaway, emphasizing the importance of seeking out unconventional approaches to deliver one's distinctive value proposition, even when confronted with seemingly insurmountable obstacles. By embracing this mindset, creatives and entrepreneurs can transcend the boundaries of their respective fields, forging new paths that leave indelible marks.
Bush's introspections on her creative process, from the intimate act of songwriting to the strategic incorporation of feedback, offer a nuanced glimpse into her dual growth as artist and individual. Her candid acknowledgment of fluctuating confidence levels and her relentless drive for self-improvement belie her years, underscoring the significance of self-awareness, receptivity to critique, and an unyielding pursuit of excellence. This holistic approach to personal and professional development serves as a timely reminder to balance the relentless pursuit of success with the nurturing of one's inner world, thereby cultivating a profound sense of fulfillment that resonates across all facets of life.
Moreover, Bush's musings on the unpredictability of life's desires and the potential for future shifts, including the possibility of embracing a more settled existence, introduce a note of vulnerability and openness. This nuanced perspective highlights the delicate interplay between ambition and personal aspiration, encouraging artists and entrepreneurs to remain receptive to life's evolving tapestry, ensuring that personal and professional trajectories harmonize in a beautiful symphony of growth and exploration.

Unbreakable Bond (part 1)
TW: none (yet)
Pairing: Uchiha Izuna / reader
All humans are born with a guardian angel, yet they can only see them face to face when turning 20 years old.
(Y/N)'s seems a little bit unconventional, because where all protective beings are serene and calm, hers knows only chaos and violence. Hell breaks loose over their heads when they finally meet, and as her angel's purpose gets compromised, it forces an ancient war to take place between the two.
Uchiha clan, but with a twist.
Sooooo, hi!! I decided to come up with a fic exclusively for all my Izuna lovers!! Being part of a community that loves a character with zero visibility in the fandom, makes me take the determination of writing everything I want to read for him. I have been thinking about this idea for quite some time, and just haven't had the time to write. Here, finally, is chapter 1, and there will be lots more to come, cause I'm planning to make this a series for him!! So yeah, I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I do, writing content for Izuna is my first passion. I'll appreciate any type of feedback and interaction you want to give me, and if you have any suggestions, let me know!!
As (Y/N) remembers, her guardian angel was always chaos.
While other people received calm and peaceful solutions to their conflicts, her companion was always violent.
When (Y/N) was five, she had the naive idea to play in the forest behind her house.
Climbing different trees and hiding in the bushes, she stumbled upon a beehive, hidden high up. In her innocence, the little girl wanted to investigate, quickly provoking the honeycomb's owners. The insects proceeded to attack her, but before one of them could even sting her, the tree fell to the ground, severed from its trunk in a perfect slash, crushing them all in the process. (Y/N) landed without any trouble on her two legs, as if someone had picked her up and placed her gently on the ground. At her age, she did not understand what saved her from such a brutal attack and fall, and it was the perfect opportunity for her parents took to explain the spiritual presence that would be with her for life.
At the age of 12, a group of three girls decided to pick on her at school.
They would taunt her purely out of envy, wanting to make her feel less, despised, and ugly. They would say horrible things to her, bully her in the corridors, and abuse her, destroying her self-esteem. One time, the leader of the group decided to physically attack (Y/N). Before the girl's hand could connect with her face, she went flying backward, slamming into a wall and falling to the ground in an explosion of crying. There was a mark on her chest as if someone had kicked her before she could get close. They never intimidated or messed with her again, knowing something powerful surrounded and protected (Y/N).
At 15, she met the first repulsive man of her life.
One of her classmates, hopelessly in love with her, had no better idea than to try to win her over with teasing and harassment. He would insist again and again on his love, pestering and chasing her wherever she went. He didn't understand how repellent and unattractive his attitude was, leading a group of annoying young men who were only dedicated to disturbing girls. One particular afternoon after school, the group of idiots followed her on her way out, berating her in mid-stride. They surrounded her with more than 6 boys, with the main idiot standing in the middle of the circle. Before any of them could do anything to her, they all fell to the ground in coordination. There was blood everywhere, broken arms, mangled noses, and legs contorted at unnatural angles. (Y/N) thanked aloud the angel who must have been around her, and walked out of the scene in shock.
When her first boss, at the age of eighteen, wanted to get handsy with her at work and misuse his authority, the man's house appeared all over the local news channels in flames. No one could explain the cause of the fire, but all his belongings had been destroyed in the blaze, leaving him completely homeless.
(Y/N) was aware guardian had unusual ways of acting, comparing her experiences with those of her parents and friends. No one had ever had such a fiery and violent spiritual companion, crude in his actions and ways of protecting.
Her parents, for example, lived a quiet life with their protectors. Both their angels resided between heaven and the forest behind their house, visiting them and coming when summoned, dividing their time between above and earth. What her friends related was a similar situation. Their companions were not with them all the time, coming only when needed or called by their humans.
In (Y/N)'s case, it seemed to be with her 24/7. It helped her in the mornings to gather her things for school, with books flying from one side of the room to the other and landing perfectly inside her backpack. During work, and in the summer months, the angel would generate a cold draught of air for when she wanted to go out for a break, and during winter, a warm stream of wind to keep her warm.
It was a pleasant companion, a constant presence, someone to always count on.
(Y/N) has never seen her guardian and does not know its name, has no idea if it is a man or a woman, the color of its eyes or skin, or what its hair looks like. She only knows their bond is stronger than anyone else's with their celestial beings.
In a few weeks, she will be twenty and will have to face the physical image of her partner for the first time. To know, finally, who is hidden in that cloak of invisibility constantly separating them.
On a hot summer night, (Y/N) returns from work and walks quietly on her way home, constantly thinking about what it will be like to meet her angel. She has only a few hours left, and soon will be face to face with the one who has been with her since the beginning of her life.
One of her closest friends had her birthday 3 days earlier, living the experience before and being able to tell her a little about it. The girl recounted how she met her spiritual companion, a female angel named Sakura, with pink hair and green eyes. The heavenly entity waited for her sitting at the table, and when the clock struck 12:00, she was finally able to see her. They talked about everything that had happened to the young woman during their years of invisible separation, and at the end of the night, the angel retired to heaven, letting her know she could call her whenever she wished.
The experience sounded calm and serene, friendly, but for some reason, (Y/N) sensed hers would not go the same way.
She arrived at her lonely flat at about 10:30 and decided to take a bath, be in the most presentable condition. When she got out of the shower, she did a short video call with her parents, who were miles away since she moved to study in another city.
When looking at the clock again, it was 11:30.
She ordered some food and it arrived 10 minutes before 12:00. (Y/N) rushed to eat, as if she had to be still and silent as her twenties loomed over her head. She finished her plate in less than five minutes, at the sensation of the last french fry getting stuck in her throat.
Desperate and alone, she began to choke, no less than three minutes before the special moment. She tried to stick her fingers down her throat, running to the bathroom in panic, trying to free her airway. No longer keeping track of time, her only priority was to stay alive and not be killed by a potato. Her vision started to blur, with less and less air in her lungs, while she collapsed to the floor in front of the toilet.
Just when she thought there was no hope, she felt two hands grab her under her arms, lifting her up and pressing into her stomach.
After several pushes, the rest of the unchewed fry flew out of her mouth, as (Y/N) coughed and tried to catch her breath. She fainted before she could see the identity of the one who had saved her, further postponing meeting her angel.

killersWHY?Outreach
"If it were possible to have a time machine traveling back to 1992 to visit the United Nation's "Earth Summit" in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we would repeatedly hear the phrase "Sustainable Living" drilled into the minds of the 178 nations and state officials that attended, including President George H. Bush. The purpose of the "Earth Summit" was to warn World leaders that the Earth could no longer sustain the consumptive appetite of the United States of America. The solution was a plan for "Sustainable Development" that would be implemented throughout the World.
.
George H. Bush not only bought into the fear-factor rhetoric, but also praised the Earth Summit, that soon became known as U.N. Agenda 21..
.
...Promoters of Agenda 21 seem to have had success, as we see facets of influence in all our lives. But apparently those who strongly support and sponsor Agenda 21 had hoped for better results, disappointment becoming apparent when the United Nations arranged a massive new gathering of members for the purpose of rebooting Agenda 21. On September 25-27, 2015, thousands of leaders from all over the World met in New York City to present a new fifteen-year plan entitled "Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development." In spite of the name change, Agenda 2030 has basically the same plan and goals of Agenda 21. It's only going deeper with its intentions to change the planet to United Nations' specifications. It's Agenda 21 on steroids!
.
While Agenda 21 focused mainly on the environment, Agenda 2030 encompasses far more and is touted to be the "new universal agenda" for humanity. It professes to be an altruistic plan that will benefit future generations. The reality, however, is that U.N. Agenda 2030 will rob individuals of most every freedom through its imposed mandates."

*RUSHES IN HERE*
*TRIPS AND FALLS*
*DROPS MY BAG FULL OF:*
2. 🛏️ BED: What do your OCs dream about?
3. 💍 JEWELRY: What are considered luxury items in the world of your WIP?
4. 🐈 CAT: Does the world of your WIP have any superstitions or folklore?
HI HMM. since my brain is rotting about them I will do it for both Courier and Nura! and also for the Hell's Deliverance universe in general
As for DREAMS:
Courier often has odd dreams. The occasional "I forgot something while going to work and I can only see at an odd angle" type of dreams, but they also dream of optical illusions, labyrinths, and places they cannot escape. Though, sometimes, their brain will be nice and let them dream of being back on Earth, living without worry of their work.... or of a certain place.
Nura doesn't dream often, usually floating mindlessly in a void of dull colors as she sleeps. Every once in a while, she'll have an actual dream. Half the time, it's your average dream of nonsensical happenings. The rest of the time, she's a porcelain doll, running as fast as she can through a wooded area as she screams someone's name. She never finds them. She hates that dream.
As for LUXURIES:
For vampires, it's often handcrafted work that has a high price tag. Of course, just having a plain t-shirt with some simple embroidery won't cost much, but if you're going for rare/high quality fabrics and detailed designs and embroidery, it's not gonna be cheap. This goes for anything that requires a skilled hand, really.
For demons, it's anything that's made of the stronger pests and dangers in the Greater and Lesser Mantle. Things like the Iron Snakes that threaten to break the links connecting the larger islands to each other, or the small and speedy Glitterhoppers that nip at demons like piranhas. Anyone who's able to catch and/or kill one of these will have some crazy demand for their bodies, as they have parts that are either rare or extremely useful, and they often are used for tools or to decorate jewelry and other ornaments.
As for SUPERSTITIONS/FOLKLORE:
All nonhumans who transform in some way are strangely able to have their clothes back when they become human again. No rips, tears, no nothing. This has been recorded very far back, so many legends and myths have sprung up, from a tailor heartbroken over their works constantly being destroyed praying for a solution, to a god of threads making the garments anew each time someone returns to a human form, and so forth.
The postmortals (demons, angels, etc) don't know how it happened either, but their guess is some higher power took mercy on people constantly losing their clothes and having to transform back behind a bush with spares or something. Maybe. But they do have a superstition that if you try to ruin or destroy someone's clothes after they turn back, you'll never get your clothes back ever again.
It might have just been a silly rumor to make people have decency for others, but hey, it does the trick.

Step-by-Step Guide to Proper Transformer Installation for Substation Success
Transformer installation is a critical phase in the lifecycle of any electrical substation. The quality of this installation not only dictates the immediate performance of the transformer but also has long-term implications for safety, reliability, and lifespan. Poorly executed transformer installations can lead to insulation failures, oil leaks, and catastrophic breakdowns that compromise the entire substation. At Manikaran Enterprises, we understand that precision and adherence to best practices are non-negotiable when it comes to transformer setup.
Tumblr media
Ensuring Safety Through Precision Installation
Safety is paramount in any substation environment. Transformers handle high voltages and currents; any misalignment, loose connections, or improper grounding can create hazardous conditions. By following industry standards—such as correct torque settings for bolted connections, precise alignment of bushings, and proper cable terminations—technicians can mitigate risks of arcing, short circuits, and electrical fires. In addition, a well-installed transformer minimizes the risk of oil leaks, which not only damage assets but also pose environmental and fire hazards.
Impact on Transformer Longevity
A transformer that is installed correctly from the outset can offer decades of reliable service. Key longevity factors include ensuring level and vibration-free mounting, using the right insulation materials, and adequately protecting against moisture ingress. Vibration dampening mounts and proper thermal management help maintain internal components in optimal condition, reducing mechanical stress and preventing premature aging. As a result, the total cost of ownership decreases due to fewer maintenance interventions and extended replacement cycles.
Role of Professional Expertise
Engaging a specialist with proven expertise in transformer setup can make all the difference. Expert teams perform detailed pre-installation surveys, conduct site-specific risk assessments, and prepare customized installation plans that address local environmental conditions, load requirements, and regulatory obligations. For those seeking reliable support in this domain, partnering with a Top Electrical Solution Company in Rajasthan ensures access to certified technicians, advanced testing equipment, and a track record of successful project delivery.
Key Installation Best Practices
Site Preparation: Level grading, compacted foundations, and adequate drainage prevent flood-related damage and uneven settling.
Proper Lifting and Handling: Using certified lifting equipment and following manufacturer guidelines reduces mechanical stress on transformer windings and core.
Accurate Alignment and Anchoring: Ensuring the transformer is level and securely anchored prevents vibration-induced wear and potential seismic damage.
Quality Cable Terminations: Employing precise crimping tools and heat-shrink sleeves guarantees electrical continuity and insulation integrity.
Grounding and Earthing: A robust earthing system protects against fault currents and lightning strikes, safeguarding personnel and equipment.
Testing and Commissioning for Reliability
After physical installation, rigorous testing and commissioning confirm that the transformer operates within its design parameters. Insulation resistance tests, turns ratio checks, oil dielectric strength measurements, and partial discharge analysis are standard procedures. Any anomalies are addressed before energization, ensuring that the transformer integrates seamlessly into the substation network. Companies offering comprehensive Transformer Installation and Commissioning Services in India bring both the technical know-how and the calibrated instruments required for this crucial phase.
Maintenance Strategies Post-Installation
A high-quality installation lays the foundation for effective maintenance. Establishing a preventive maintenance schedule—comprising periodic oil sampling, thermal imaging surveys, and mechanical inspections—helps detect issues early. Routine checks on gasketing, breather performance, and cooling systems further contribute to uninterrupted service. Well-documented installation records also aid in troubleshooting, as technicians can reference exact configurations and component specifications.
Cost-Benefit Analysis of Quality Installation
Investing in top-tier installation practices may entail higher initial costs, but the long-term savings are substantial. Fewer unscheduled outages translate to reduced downtime and regulatory penalties. Lower frequency of repairs and replacements drives down lifecycle expenses, while enhanced safety protocols minimize liability and insurance premiums. In essence, high-quality installation is a strategic investment in operational excellence.
Conclusion
The quality of transformer installation has a profound impact on both the safety and longevity of substation assets. From meticulous site preparation to comprehensive commissioning tests, every step must be executed with precision. By aligning with industry leaders such as Manikaran Enterprises, utilities and project developers can ensure that their substations operate safely, efficiently, and reliably for years to come. Investing in professional installation and rigorous maintenance not only protects assets but also delivers peace of mind in an increasingly demanding electrical landscape.
