Every time Optimus gets cloned, when the clone isn’t born braindead or dies in the test tube like a stillborn, they proceed to just be completely unhinged.
Optimus is a mature, calm and levelheaded individual, therefore his clones should be as well, right? NOPE. Every last one of those fucks is batshit crazy with no regard to their own personal health and safety, and end up being public health hazards. Each and every one of them is absolutely feral.
The longest surviving Clones (aka The Maniacs Who Have Yet to Kill Themselves), Nemesis Prime and Toxitron, seem to be on a lifelong nihilistic, amorous, hedonistic Crashout.
Everyone looks at Optimus and silently wonders if he is okay. What is going on in that brain.
Optimus isn’t about to deny that he’s holding onto his sanity with a shaky grip right now.
I want to stick the three in a Situation together and make them have hard conversations
I feel like the three of them need them

Navigating the Challenges of GenAI Implementation
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/navigating-the-challenges-of-genai-implementation/
Navigating the Challenges of GenAI Implementation
Generative AI (GenAI)-enabled software development will improve productivity and work efficiency – the question is, how much? Most market research on this topic shows considerable gains in productivity. Research from Harvard found that specialists, depending on the task and seniority, saw a 43% increase in productivity. Likewise, a report from Goldman Sachs suggests that productivity could rise by 1.5 percentage points with GenAI after ten years of broad adoption, equating to almost double the pace of US productivity growth. While insightful, most of these findings come from controlled settings that don’t necessarily reflect the nuances of real-life use cases.
To better answer how much GenAI can enhance productivity in software development, a leading digital transformation services and product engineering company decided to record its practical findings and insights from a recent large-scale GenAI implementation project with one of its clients. This client wanted to adopt GenAI into the work processes of 10 development teams across three workstreams, entailing over 100 specialists. These real-life findings reveal the various challenges businesses will encounter along the journey; moreover, they underscore the necessity of a company-wide roadmap for scaling GenAI adoption.
Addressing Specialists’ Negative Attitudes and Expectations
Many challenges can delay the success of a GenAI project, such as legal and regulatory concerns, a lack of processing capacity, security and privacy, etc. However, the most significant roadblock encountered during this large-scale implementation was the specialists’ attitudes and expectations around the technologies. During the implementation, the engineering company observed that the client’s specialists had certain expectations about GenAI and how it would augment their work. When these initial expectations didn’t align with the outcomes regarding quality or execution time, they would develop negative attitudes toward the technologies. In particular, when the GenAI didn’t, in their words, “Do the work for me,” they would respond with comments like: “I expected better and don’t want to waste my time anymore.”
Businesses must shift perceptions and transition to a new working culture that prevents these negative attitudes from manifesting and hampering adoption and accurate measuring. Surveys and assessments are an efficient means of mapping and categorizing the attitudes and perceived engagement of one’s specialists. From there, companies should group specialists based on their feelings toward GenAI. Then, businesses can create tailored change management approaches for each group to promote successful AI integration; for example, the most skeptical specialists will receive more attention and care than neutral specialists.
Accounting for The Complexities of Real-world Projects
The second most obstructive challenge was accurately measuring the impact of GenAI on productivity while accounting for the complexities of real-world project conditions. In controlled environments, it is easier to gauge the influence of GenAI – however, as mentioned earlier, such tests do not consider certain variables and inconsistencies. Projects aren’t stagnant. They evolve constantly. An organization may have a situation where they have rotating specialists due to vacation schedules and sick days or sudden changes in priorities. Specialists are also not always working on specific project activities where GenAI impact can be the most beneficial because they have meetings to attend, emails to answer and other tasks outside the sprint scope that often get overlooked in productivity measurements. These inconsistencies and variables must be accounted for when objectively measuring the impact of GenAI on software development.
Other best practices include integrating task management tools into workflows to see how long tasks stay in each status to determine non-technical specialists’ productivity and efficiency. Likewise, business intelligence solutions can automatically gather data points, reducing errors and saving time. Additionally, organizations can mitigate the complexities of real-world project conditions and ensure a more accurate evaluation of GenAI’s impact on productivity by employing thorough data cleanup practices.
Company-Wide Roadmap: Measuring Accurately
This large-scale GenAI implementation also highlighted the value of a company-wide roadmap that marks the beginning and end of the integration. Businesses should note that a crucial element of this roadmap is defining the metrics they will use for the baseline and final reporting stages. Dozens of different metrics can help assess GenAI’s impact on productivity, including, but not limited to, velocity in time, throughput, average rework and code review time, code review failure and acceptance rates, time spent on bug fixing, etc.
After defining these metrics, companies should classify them into objective and subjective categories. Businesses can also use data from task-tracking tools like Jira for objective metrics. Likewise, they must maintain and adhere to quality flows, timely task updates and thorough stage completion. Recall that subjective metrics, like specialist and pilot surveys, will help businesses understand adoption levels and correlations with objective measurements. From a frequency perspective, measurements should be routine and scheduled, not sparse and random. Furthermore, the project’s findings emphasize the usefulness of metrics such as average daily impact, perceived proficiency, performance changes, work coverage, AI tools usage and uninterrupted workflow to measure adoption progression.
Company-Wide Roadmap Continued: Learning and Culture Development at Scale
In addition to effectively measuring the impact of GenAI, another vital component of a successful roadmap is that it drives continuous learning and AI fluency through different training and coaching strategies. These initiatives will ultimately foster a company-wide learning culture, enabling AI adoption at scale across the enterprise. Various strategies include creating working groups that focus on where and how the company can leverage GenAI as well as encouraging individuals to share what is and is not working. Also, it is helpful to set up growth and development priorities accompanied by learning paths at the individual and team levels.
Another way companies can build a culture that readily adopts new GenAI technologies is by highlighting quick-win use cases. These will demonstrate the power of GenAI to the larger organization and reluctant skeptics. Businesses should also establish security guidelines and rules of engagement with AI to empower teams to experiment and explore new approaches without exposing the company to risk. Likewise, organizations must enforce adherence to industry standards and other best practices while addressing change management among individuals and teams at the task and tool levels.
Keeping People at the Center
The two most important takeaways from this real-world implementation are: firstly, GenAI can lead to substantial productivity gains within the confines of a proper strategy and roadmap; secondly, such an integration has an undeniable human element that companies must address accordingly. GenAI will forever change how these specialists perform daily tasks. It is also likely that GenAI may make some specialists feel threatened by the technology which may cause resistance to adoption. Ultimately, the key to a successful GenAI implementation remains distinctly human. It’s crucial for businesses to grasp the depth of this, as it is humans that operationalize the technology, unlocking its practical value.

Broke: Chilchuck Tims is child coded.
Woke: Chilchuck Tims isn't child coded, he's a middle-aged, divorced man with grown up children.
Bespoke: Chilchuck Tims cannot be accurately described as either "child coded" or "not child coded" because he is a deliberate commentary on the idea of "child coding" itself.
Chilchuck, and half-foots in Dungeon Meshi in general, are given significantly more neotenous proportions and appearances (e.g. larger heads and eyes, rounder faces) than the other races. This is not universal for depictions of hobbits / halflings in Tolkien / D&D inspired fantasy fiction. Compare Chilchuck relative to the "tallmen" (humans) in Dunmeshi to how small races are drawn in something like Legend of Vox Machina (many of those characters are gnomes but whatever) or in basically any official D&D art. It was an intentional artistic decision to make him look like that. This is reinforced when he's temporarily transformed into a tallman (human) and in addition to becoming much taller he gains features that make him look more visibly middle-aged (stubble, eye bags / wrinkles, a more oval face) that he doesn't have as a half-foot. See also Marcille's transformed form and supplemental drawings of what all of the main party would look like as other races. However they do NOT look indistinguishable from actual children as portrayed by Dunmeshi's artstyle and have distinguishing features e.g. larger ears.
Chilchuck is frequently mistaken for a child in-universe, or treated / perceived as one even by members of other races who know he's a half-foot, and he hates this. His infantilization and that of half-foots in general isn't just a running gag, it's a significant plot point and source of discrimination. Like when the party gets impersonated by shapeshifters copying everyone based on the others' memories of them, and most of the Chilchuck clones look and behave more childish than the real one, and they almost get away with it, even though his party should know better than to think of him as a kid.
The narrative consistently takes the position that the people infantilizing Chilchuck are wrong, and are being ignorant/racist.
Conclusion: Chilchuck is definitely not "child-coded" in the way that a 700 year old shapeshifter that looks and behaves indistinguishably from a little kid for contrived reasons. However, he is intentionally designed to make it seem plausible for people who know he's an adult to still not fully believe it and this can make the viewers fall for it too. Which I guess is "child-coding" in a sense. But the message the work is trying to send is very clearly "Don't decide that grown-ass adults are equivalent to children and treat them like children because they have physical characteristics that remind you of a child you dipshit."
While hobbits aren't real and Chilchuck's traits that get him mistaken for a child are exaggerated compared to the vast, vast majority of real people, infantilization of grown-ass adults due to ableism, racism, or just people being dumbasses who forget short people exist is a real issue, and if you start shit with people for shipping Divorced Dad Chilchuck Tims with other characters or whatever you are displaying the exact attitude that's being criticized.

You know what, enough time has passed and I've given media reviews/reccs in the past, so I'm gonna recommend Pixar's Win or Lose as seriously worth a watch.

I came into the show with zero expectations a few months ago and was pleasantly blown away by the writing, art direction, and character dramas.
Win or Lose is an original drama mini-series created by Pixar that follows a co-ed middle school softball team and the week leading up to a big championship game. Each episode picks one character, either a kid or an adult, and focuses on their perspective/storyline during that week. So in the first episode, we notice a lot of weird mysteries or threads in the background (Why is this character crying uncontrollably? Why are these two fighting?). As the show progresses, we get to see each character's sides of the story and how they interconnect with and affect each other. It's very, very well written and well crafted.
Each episode also tackles a pretty mature and at times distressing theme about growing up and parenting, similar to Inside Out. Here's a one sentence synopsis of each episode's general conflict and theme to give you an idea. Spoilers ahead:
Laurie, who's terrible at softball, desperately wants to impress her father, the team coach, but is dragged down by anxiety, visualized by a growing blob that whispers intrusive thoughts.
A geeky, middle-aged middle school teacher tries to get over a break-up with online dating.
Rochelle, who's the eldest "forced-to-grow-up-too-fast" daughter of a struggling, social media-obsessed single mother, must raise money on her own to pay for her team fee, falling into dangerous situations with older teens.
Following the perspective of the single mother during the events of episode three, we see her side of the story and the complicated ways she works to fend off judgmental parents and support her daughter.
An imaginative but lonely little brother of a softball player becomes friends with a group of teenage outcasts, for better and for worse.
A boy and a girl on the softball team begin dating, but undergo relationship troubles when the boy's insecurities about coolness, honesty, and masculinity cause him to lash out.
Kai, a Black, trans-coded girl on the team, must balance her self-confidence and love for softball while appeasing her sports-loving father, who pressures her to always be her best.
The culmination and climaxes of each episode's arcs and conflicts collide in the big championship game, with a main focus on the team coach/father from the first episode, who's ready to burst from the stress and tension of an impending divorce, his anxious daughter, the game, and mid-life feelings of worthlessness.
Each episode also features a creative way of externalizing and visualizing emotions, concepts, or mindsets like anxiety, e-dating, and pride. Rochelle transforms into a tall business woman with shoulder pads when she goes into money-making-mode. Gravity flips and disappears when she feels like she's losing control of her life. Some episodes even feature completely different animation styles. As a result, each storyline is presented through an unreliable and exaggerated perspective that prioritizes the protagonist and skews reality, often shown through the eyes of a child.
These screenshots really don't do the animation justice, you need to see it in motion to get the appeal. The dialogue is snappy and fun too, and the characters are immediately charismatic and likable. Here's a clip from the first episode.
The two biggest controversies this show had were 1. its art style and 2. the censorship.
The art style was ridiculed and criticized online for looking "grub-hub commercial-ish," which has been said about previous Pixar movies as well (Luca and Turning Red). The characters are extremely cartoony, with sometimes weirdly exaggerated proportions. And admittedly, some of the designs are not it (the noseless barista...). But I think a lot of people and artists will agree that even if the art direction looks strange to you, it grows on you quickly. Pixar knows how to animate and they know how to work with their own models. Plus, given the limitations and labor of a 7-episode show, it makes sense that things had to be simplified. With the gorgeous lighting, textures, and colors, the show's style really reminded me of stop-motion or Nintendo games. It's just fun.
Secondly is the report that Disney made Pixar censor and re-write Kai's episode, which was originally supposed to be an explicit exploration of her trans identity as a young girl and an athlete. The animatic of the original version of the episode was leaked online. The news and decision is extremely disappointing, worsens the final show, and really reveals how careless and conservative Disney is about representation. But if you watch the actual episode, you'll notice all the ways the crew tried to circumvent Disney and maintain Kai's trans identity through coding and nods to gender dysphoria/guilt/expression/affirmation/euphoria. (Her storyline made me cry too.)
I don't want to come across like I'm defending the censorship. An episode dedicated to a POC father-daughter relationship as they navigate Kai coming out as trans while playing sports on Disney+ would have been so powerful and important for family audiences. And they try to supplant the trans storyline with a clumsy softball vs. baseball edit. But I've seen talk about how this storyline was completely erased or how this show is straight up transphobic, and that's just not true. The crew did their best with a truly shitty situation.
If you like shows like Craig of the Creek or Bluey or Steven Universe, you'll probably like this one too.
#personal#ramblings#not art#long post#i don't normally yap about a show but idk. i feel like this one got a unfair and bad rap in the animation community but i really liked it
