when i was in 11th or 12th grade everyone had to make a big painting for art class, like copy a. Ausschnitt. detail? sector? of a painting that's kind of well known. like we were assigned a painting and had to zoom in and copy the zoomed in part on a big ass canvas. And the theme of our art class was self portraits and I can still remember what mine looked like but I CAN'T FIND IT. Neither the one I did (usually you get to take it home when you're done with school but #lockdown so I asked for it two years later and it was already gone) nor the one mine was based on 😭

So?

Enbarr existed before Adrestia, but it was re-designed to protect Willy’s castle? Rhea in a typical “Treehouse 5D chess” moment created that canal, to serve as a fortification somehow, because 40 years later Willy would become Emperor and it will serve to protect his new castle?

Or...

Enbarr existed before Adrestia, Nopes indicates there used to be a noble there (jury’s out about Willy being one of the many lords of Enbarr or The Lord of Enbarr!) who would have had a palace/castle before Seiros the Warrior popped up. Seiros made her canal and developped the city. And maybe later on, as Adrestia prepared for war and built forts around (Myrddin iirc) Enbarr was fortified too, to protect the palace/castle ?

Edit : I’ve checked around the script and all, and it’s the “designed” to part that was a bit weird - in the jp/cn scripts it’s more something like the city had the task to protect the palace, but it doesn’t mean it was specifically designed, since the beginning, to do so.

Double Edit : I was mistaken on “designed” because it has two meanings, and I brainfarted (no thanks to the french loc this time), it’s coherent with the jp meaning if you take “designed” as “this city was chosen” meaning, but not as the “designed” like “it was built/conceived this way for this purpose”

"I know, right? I've tried cardamom in my mix, it'll give you a hit, like caffein but like, less addictive."

Mingzhu sat on a chair, and treated themself with a homebaked cookie.

"So, tell me, I'm all ears."

"Rawel proposed", he let with a sob. "And... I just... I just can't. I feel like I've thrown away my life, jiějie."

"You haven't. Dear, younglings are so dramatic these days!"

"I am just three years younger than you!"

"You're still my baby brother", they humoured him.

Mingzhu drank quite a bit of their own beverage, then spoke with a soft voice:

"While I agree he knew you have some... engagment issues, and that it really isn't the good time for you to think about getting married, Rawel is a good chap. And you love him. And he loves you. What did you do?"

"I... I ran away and ghosted him."

"Give me your phone."

"Whaaaaa-"

They waited for Junjie to hand out his phone, which he did eventually. They unlocked it, and texted a laconic "Here's Junjie's older sibling, Mingzhu. We've met before. Junjie won't be here for the next days, probably weeks or even months, he needs to deal with his own life. Here's my number to keep you updated on his state...".

"Read it, then send it."

Junjie sent it immediately.

"Now that he knows you aren't well, he will probs understand and connect the dots."

"Or he'll leave me because I am a horrible person."

"Kid, say that again about my brother and you won't have any more of my biscuits", they smiled.

"You're no fun."

"I am your elder, this ain't my job."

He sighed.

"I... want to go back in time. When it was easy. Rawel is a good man, but he is... too sweet. Too... too kind! I feel so overwhelmed, and then I am bored because this isn't as exciting as I am used to. And I feel guilty, I feel like I don't deserve it. I don't know, jiějie, I really don't know. He is so soft and caring and... I am just dirty and stupid, I suppose."

He blew his nose in another tissue, before getting another sipping from his brew.

"I don't understand how he works and I play mindgames all the time, trying to push his buttons to guess how he functions. But he just... He just... sighs, takes a walk and comes back never a tad bit angry at me! He sits me and then we talk and talk and talk and he makes me feel so vulnerable and I can't even tell him how miserable this makes me feel because he will hurt me if he knows!"

"I am sorry to break your illusions, Junjie, but he knows you are vulnerable. But - and this may shock you - that doesn't mean he will abuse you", they said. "You had... quite your share of unhealthy relationships, and I know how this is and- Oh wait, I have a text from your boyfriend."

Rawel sent her a long message they found quite endearing, telling them in substance "I am so worried, but if he is with you it puts my mind at ease. Thanks for being here and taking care of him, and you are very nice to keep me updated."

"What a sweetheart", they noted.

"He is. He has been bringing me flowers every week since he knows I love plants, since I am living with him, you know. Since he saw I flinched every time he put on some music at home, he has been putting on music I like and take my hand to dance in the living room, to get me used to enjoy music again. And..."

Junjie couldn't help but weep like a child. Gross, ugly cries, the lost hopes and dreams over the years choking him now he had the chance to realise them all. Mingzhu took his hand, looking at their brother with compassion.

"I love him so much, jiějie."

"I know."

"When we are having sex, he always asks me if it's okay, if I'm feeling good, he stops if I ask him to... We don't argue loudly even when I am the worst human being on Earth. He just takes the time to calm down and he talks, gently, kindly, he never throws things at me, nor hits me, never never never! His touch is always so gentle... I feel so nasty all the time, jiějie, I am feeling so guilty to... I don't know, corrupt him..."

"I know, Junjie, I know."

"He makes me feel safe. And loved. And worthy of love. I am not, I-I am scared he would discover it and... and..."

They gave him another tissue.

"Listen", they sighed, "stay here until you're ready. Once we're done with our tea, we're going to look for a good therapist for you. We both know you need it, and this is the best moment to start working on your issues in my opinion. We don't have to schedule an appointment today, we'll do it when you'll feel ready, sounds good?"

Junjie ate a second cookie, and whispered "yes" so softly you couldn't hear it without paying attention.

"Want a hug?" they offered.

He jumped between their arms, weeping. He was safe. He was at home. Mingzhu and him had always been in the corner of each other, for best and worst. They wrapped their arms tightly around his body, to make him feel protected, and murmured him some words of reassurance.

"We'll make it, you'll make it, Junjie."

It felt like a rainbow after the most violent thunderstorm.

Omg... world on fire valaemond is SO galaxy brained... the potential for angst and violence and tragedy and hurt/comfort! valaena has spent all that time trying to fit herself into a box necessary for her family, thinking about the only person who made her feel alive, the only person who ever really understood her. and aemond comes back traumatized and has to balance feeling feral and angry over the fact that she doesn't belong to him anymore and didn't wait for him (though he knows that wasn't her choice) while he spent all those years re-reading their letters and staring at her picture every night before bed, but he also is falling apart on the inside because she was the only one who could ever give him peace and comfort and that's what he needs now most of all... cue months of yearning and pining and secret meetings and aemond on his knees crying into valaena's stomach and eventually an elopement, a cottage in the country, and 7 little children toddling about as they learn to heal and love again

I KNOW THE POTENTIAL DRAMA

bc Valaena waited for aemond for two years before she couldn’t ignore that her family needed her anymore and she’s been trying to reshape herself to fit right but it has just felt like a piece of her was missing and it’s definitely the piece of her that was shaped like aemond

And aemond has been getting through with thoughts of Valaena keeping him going, about the life theyll have with together when he gets back

But he gets back and things are different now and they have to relearn each other

Bc the sweet but intense boy she’d grown up with is now obsessive and traumatized and violent and paranoid and haunted

And while Valaena was always brave as a child she’s reckless now, anxious, always running away, doesn’t seem to care very much whether she lives or dies

They both want each other so bad, want to fix and heal and relearn each other but circumstances are so different now that all they can do is pine and have a series of increasingly loaded encounters

And yeah finally it boils over, an argument in the rain about why she didn’t wait for him vs how he could have let her think he was dead (I’m picturing his disappearance as a result of a dangerous mission and going undercover and less as like a PoW thing) that ends with aemond on his knees, holding her skirts, crying and Valaena just stroking his hair

Cue them running away, eloping, finding a home in the hills where they can teach their kids how to swim in their little lake and be safe together again
