#Tropical Season 2023
Text
"People on the Gulf Coast and along the Eastern Seaboard can breathe a little easier. The 2023 Atlantic hurricane season, which began June 1, ends today.
The season was above-normal in terms of activity. There were 20 named storms that formed in the Atlantic basin, starting with "Unnamed Storm" and ending with "Tammy." That's the fourth-highest number in a single year since 1950." @NPR

venus in pisces • january 26 - february 20, 2023
Tumblr media
venus enters pisces on january 26, 2023 at 8:33 PM CST, wrapping up another astrological cycle for venusian energy. venus is exalted in pisces, meaning that this is where venus can achieve it's highest form of expression and potential. venus being the planet of love can help us reach the highest form of love, attraction, connection, and value by tapping into Source-based love. christ consciousness is going to be a major theme with this transit, allowing us to tap into agape love, major forgiveness, and recognizing our innate power + value by seeing Source within us.
it's going to be very important to let our intuition guide us at this time. let your faith in the universe guide you to what you're attracting. beauty will be found everywhere and within everyone. be intentional with what and who you engage with at this time as piscean energy makes us more susceptible to other people's energy. a lot of us will be starting nu adventures, opening nu roads due to our increase in faith. put the desires of your heart first and everything you need to receive them will follow in divine timing. allow yourself to be a true trailblazer. letting your heart lead the way is a radical form of self-love that the vast majority is still scared to do. start acting like you deserve the world and more!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
how to alchemize with venus in pisces:
strengthen your connection to Source
indulge in your creative mediums
shadow work to heal past relationship wounds
keep an open mind
set boundaries with social media
forgive family members that have wronged you in the past
take a risk and answer your calling
if you're feeling called to move, set those intentions now!
script your dream partner

I have lived in Florida for almost my entire life, coming up on 26 years, but I still can't seem to grasp the idea that hurricane cones represent only the center of the storm and that hurricanes are very big and that you'll still get wind and rain even if you're hundreds of miles away from the head-on path.

The Moon is going to be exactly conjunct Neptune when Pluto retrograde officially re-enters Capricorn in a few hours. 🧐 I find this interesting because Neptune is the one planet that’s basically always in aspect with Pluto… at least during recent history as far as I’m aware of… and so at the moment of Pluto’s transition, the Moon will be highlighting the relationship between these two planets that always exists, regardless of which sign has Pluto in its domain.
And now I’m gonna be musing on the relationship between Neptune and Pluto tonight. They have some similarities to me, both as agents of the subconscious mind, but Neptune seems to deal with concepts that are too elusive to be held in the mind in tangible forms. It’s the psychic undercurrent connecting everyone and everything; it’s understandings that every spirit is endowed with, but none living in a mortal body can fully see/comprehend.
Pluto, on the other hand, seems to deal with topics that have been actively repressed; buried deep in our subconscious minds until things happen to draw them out into the light again. And when that happens, you can’t look the other away. These topics don’t have the protective veil of mist that Neptune topics have… they’re either buried or they’re bold.
Neptune influences in a way where you would not even be able to put your finger on what’s influencing you, whereas Pluto, even with how far away it is, is a force hard to miss that commands our attention directly to it when it’s activated.
But maybe Neptune’s power is actually also more bold than I always gave her (him?) credit for, because that ever-present supportive sextile to Pluto perhaps is part of what’s really behind the scenes fueling Pluto’s power. Neptune never does get proper credit for how influential she/he really is. 🤷‍♀️ (while Pluto manages to grab all the power)
Anyone have any thoughts to share about Pluto and Neptune’s relationship?? 🖤
And happy Pluto in Aquarius era everyone!… I’m calling it because this back dip into Capricorn is only gonna last 7 months, and that’s a drop in the bucket compared to the era ahead. But before we go forward with full momentum, the world has some themes of Power, Control, and buried knowledge within Capricorn realms to revisit. 🎯

Low Energy Tropical Depression Storm Don is attempting a comeback in the middle of nowhere in the Mid Atlantic. It currently looks like it may end up just going in a circle. Sad!
For updates on Don and other potential disturbances, visit the National Hurricane Center.
Warm seas act like jet fuel for tropical cyclones. And waters off the coast of Florida are at record temperatures.
Climate scientists are alarmed by record water temperatures off Florida's coast
Water temperatures typically average about 88 degrees in the summer. Now they're about five degrees higher. Water just offshore in Florida Bay near the Upper Keys hit 98 degrees last week. So that is literally hot-tub hot. [ ... ] It's bonkers. I don't know how else to put it. It's out of bounds from what we've seen. If you just wrote a statistical model and said what are the chances of this level of warming, it would be 1 in 250,000 years that that would happen.
[ 88° F = 31.1° C, 93° F = 33.8° C, 98° F = 36.6° C ]
What's just as "bonkers" is that Florida has a climate denying governor who dismisses such observations as "politicizing the weather". Floridians need to turn up the heat on Ron DeSantis. People in parts of Florida are still recovering from Hurricane Ian and are now suffering due to extreme heat which potentially enables rapid intensification of storms.

Gotta love how consumerism pushes fall and winter trends in a tropical country. There's like 2 weeks out of the entire year you *might* need a coat or heavy duty jacket. Why do people push them here? It gets like 15°C at the coldest.

Source (Season 2 - November 19th 2023)
megsetdec: So where do pirates go shopping on their day off when they need party supplies?? Well that’s what we had to figure out on this little backlot. Production designer Ra Vincent and art director Adam Wheatley cleverly designed some new Nassau style structures off the back of our existing pirates republic set and utilised a shallow pond structure that sells the look of a small port. We assembled all the small boats we had and designed canopy structures which our fabulous textile team did a custom fit awning for each. Then we got to work populating the stalls that were built around the circumference with the kind of things any good pirate might want to stock up on. So fancy fabrics, tropical blooms, sparkly crackers, good nosh, terrible rum and of course lanterns!! The day came to shoot this scene we’d all been looking forward to so much and my god the clouds rolled in and dropped the most sensational tropical downpour on all of us. But as they say “the show must go on” so we rolled back the tarps, unfurled the handstitched rainbow flag, donned our coats and got on with it. In the end I think the rain made everything look troppo & shimmery so it didn’t detract at all. Once the fabulous cast in their spunky @gypsytaylor costumes came into set doing such a good job of having a brilliant time (they’re always laughing!) the whole thing came together and it all felt spot on. Here’s to Calypso!! 🍹🏳️‍🌈🦜🏴‍☠️

mars direct in gemini • january 12, 2023
Tumblr media
mars has been retrograding since august, but is now stationed direct at 8° gemini on january 12, 2023. when mars stations direct, this is the end of the recalibration period for how + where mars is working in our lives. reflect on the last 2.5 months - how have your mindsets developed? how is your relationship with your toxic habits? have you learned to speak up for yourself more? what's your relationship like with the internet these days? mars has been working to bring us into alignment with our motives, our drive, and the way we execute when it comes to how we communicate, what we learn, and what we engage with on a mental basis. if you have been using this retrograde to your advantage, you may be being blessed with a more empowered mindset, toxic ties are being broken, you're no longer settling for less, and confidently exercising that throat chakra.
the focus here is organizing our spaces by filtering out what no longer serves where we're headed. this involves releasing friendships, abandoning spaces we no longer resonate with, doing a social media cleanse, and even deep cleaning our physical spaces since the state of our physical environment correlates with our mental environment. many people will be focusing more on health + wellness so if you've been called to upgrade your life in that sense, now is the time. we'll also be seeing more people getting irrational, aggressive, and competitive on the internet - mind your business + do not get lost in the sauce of social media competition. overall, this transit is here to help is realign with your long-term goals and creatively conjure up a way that we can be successful through our God-given talents. in order to attain success, we must overcome our fears of self-expression and no longer doubting our abilities.

speak up for yourself!
learn nu things
implement more healing hobbies
write more!

We’ve been talking about this Venus retrograde for literally months and she still won’t actually be in retrograde motion for over another 2 weeks??!
A bit overhyped much?
And to be real, I tend to feel this way about how all retrogrades are treated in pop astrology, and especially the unnecessary doom placed on Mercury retrogrades. Most of the time ppl be thinking Mercury retrograde or some other retrograde is destroying their lives, when they don’t realize there are far more heavy hitting and personal transits they are going through. There’s a problem with this for two reasons:
1.) I don’t think retrogrades in general usually have nearly as much effect on most of us as eclipses, significant transits to our natal chart, and even just regular transits of the Moon in some cases (the mother🌝 closest to Earth who I would argue has us all under her thumb much more than we realize)! Yet “retrograde” is the blame buzzword in astrology circles for people who haven’t yet gone deep with astrology.
2.) I simply don’t think retrogrades have to even be a bad thing. What does it say about our culture that we see the chance to go inward and revisit dynamics of the past to create better dynamics for the future, as an ominous thing?? 🤔🤨 The type of introspective work that can accompany retrogrades (if you’re actually taking advantage of them!😀) can potentially be a little uncomfortable, and external things may not feel like they’re moving ahead as smoothly or straightforwardly as normal, but really retrogrades are a gift. Personally, I’m very grateful that Venus is coming back to the degree of my natal Venus THREE times this Summer, because these revisitings will be needed for the ways I’m trying to grow in Venus’s realm.
If I can impart one piece of wisdom on others, it’s not to view retrogrades with fear or dread. Go inside yourself and ask where YOU would like to grow, and see things differently. It also might be orienting to take into account that unless the retrograde is interacting in particularly personal ways with your natal chart, it may not even have much of any significant effect in your life. 🤷‍♀️
