For the past few-ish years, I've been doing an art challenge where I focus on posting pieces on designated dates. This year, I wanted to draw each triplet doing something with Launchpad to have ready for the, uh, 15th, but that obvious didn't happen due to something preventing me from being on time...again...😒

But I'm still completing them anyway! ✍🏾😤

Yeah, I know, I colored LP's Quack Pack boots wrong. His pupils might also be too big too. Both sets of hands probably don't match up very well with the other...I tried. ┐⁠(⁠´⁠ー⁠｀⁠)⁠┌

But in spite of its flaws, I still really do like this! I could redo or fix these things if I ever decide to do fully digitally. Right now, I gotta keep moving. 🏃🏾‍♀️

The triples kids!

Jet, Luna and Turbo (Birth order)

Jet:

1. The son of Huey but is mostly like Louie but actually tries if necessary to make his dad proud

2. He’s not the best with schedules or time but hasn’t missed anything important thanks to Huey

3. Despite his laziness he still try’s to protect his younger cousins with all his strength and cares about them even though he doesn’t show it.

4. He likes cherry pep soda-

5. He is 5 minutes older than Luna and 10 minutes older than Turbo

Luna:

1. Daughter of Louie duck and is the opposite of him

2. She’s kinda like Huey but doesn’t do Jr. WoodChucks and does sports (Volleyball and tennis) and she is the one with the schedules and timing

3. Tries to set a good example for Turbo due to Jet not doing it, but she still cares for both of them and protects them (mostly Turbo)

4. Even though she is the middle child of the cousins she doesn’t try to stand out and doesn’t really care about being the middle child

5. She treats Turbo like a child just because he’s 5 minutes younger than her but does it in a playful way

Turbo:

1. The son of Dewey duck and is more shy and timid but he still loves adventure like his father

2. When his family is in danger he will immediately go and his life for them and because of that Huey and Louie see Dewey in him

3. Despite being the youngest he doesn’t really like how gets attention and just wants to have some time alone but he still loves them

4. He never knew his father or what happened to him as he was never told about him but wonders what’s he’s up to

5. He calls Webby Mom because she is a mother figure to him.

That was a lot to type but it’s finally over, hope you enjoy these characters! I have more to come!

DEWEY DUCK from DUCKTALES (2017)

JUSTIFICATION:

"hyperactive and flamboyant with a serious desire for fame, love and affection, dewey has always given me transfem vibes. i look at her and think "oh, she's absolutely going to go through it when she hits puberty" she has SERIOUS rejection sensetivity, and would do about anything to be liked or to be seen in a positive light (and gets very upset when her attempts to get respect fail) which is very similar to the whole 'needing to pass to feel valid' thing.

out of the triplets, dewey has the best relationships with the girl characters in the show. she is the closest one to della and webby, and she also has a friend in gosalyn. gravitating more towards girls/finding it easier to talk to them does give me the transfem vibes.

also. she reacted the most extremely to learning she was supposed to be given another name. (donald chose to call her dewford over TURBO??? absolutely criminal)

(even though this isn't a 2k17 thing, i think it would be worth mentioning that she says "i discovered what it's like to be a woman" in quack pack. iconic line from an iconic episode)" - Anonymous

#1 First day of school goodbyes (Dewey)

OH!! BERNIE GOING TO HELL!! FOR SHAME!! A THOUSAND YEARS OF HELL FOR BERNIE!!!! despite her culinary prowess it's taken her two batches to get the recipe just right, and if it weren't for her last sliver of rationale she would have yanked the tray out of the brick oven without mitts and run. the waft of pastries rouses enough sense back in her to remember the basket, the wrapping, and the sunflowers before she sprints. all the way across the courtyards, all the way to maria's room. she's wheezing like an old man hacking up ash by the time her knuckles thud against the door, and when it opens, she's only catching her breath a little bit when she greets maria.

"bernie remembered—" she wheezes, holds up her index. a second passes. "—i-i remembered... your favorites!"

what's your favorite dessert? what's your favorite tea? what's your home like? what are your favorite stories, and what are your dreams? two girls have shared these in their time together, blowing wishes on dandelions and marveling at sunflowers. bernadetta manages to straighten herself just in time to rustle through the basket of goodies, pulling out a sealed envelope and handing it to maria. there's a reddish tint from more than running that dusts her cheeks.

"um, happy birthday! and i sort of drew... well... y-you don't have to keep it if it's stupid! but i thought, you know..." inside, there's an illustration of a girl with hair red as roses—and beside her, a knight, an older brother with silver hair. bernadetta can barely look maria in the eye, but steals an occasional peek through her lashes. "just... something else to remember him by. for you. i hope you like it. or at least the sweets. o-or the flowers?"

It is a peaceful day today, and that is all-- or at least mostly all-- that Maria would ever dare to ask for. With her notebook laid out on her desk before her, the little cleric hums in between minuscule nibbles of cookies that are honestly too pretty to eat (how criminal of her!), breaking every so often to huff a quiet laugh when she catches the tinkling of little bells.

--the cacophony that comes next is not entirely without prelude, a chaotic crescendo of footfalls cresting into a thunderous rapping at her door. And Maria, though she rises from her seat, stands stunned a moment overlong ere she wades through her laughter to pull the door wide open.

"Bernie!" Comes the cheerful greeting, two voices weaving into a silly little song.

"Bernie remembered--"

"--you remembered!"

"--I-I remembered..."

"-- oh! Careful!"

"... your favorites!"

One hand darting out to gingerly keep the basket from tipping over, Maria's eyes sparkle as they flit over the promise of a gift, of remembrance and affection shared, and shares her own in kind, warmth seeping from her softly narrowed smile.

"...hee hee!" She had never doubted that she would. If a heart was a cup into which love was poured, Maria thinks that Bernie's would be a babbling brook. One with a pebbled shore, dandelions and wild grass hugging its bends, carrying toy boats to new adventures and bottled wishes out to sea. The sailors would be named such things as 'fruit mousse' and 'sweet-apple blend' -- what silly sailors they were! -- and the wishes would whisper to her curious currents, "only a story like a hundred thousand other stories, but it is unique to me in all the world"; or even, "to put my home together again... and my home, together again. Keep it secret, okay? Hee hee!" -- how novel, that wishes should laugh!

And all of them would be safe with Bernie; Bernie will remember, and carry it with her, and it will matter to her even when her knuckles hang at the door and pink speckles her cheeks and she's still wheezing a little bit, but not so ash-eating-old-man-like anymore.

"Hee hee... heeheehee!"

Then, if laughter was a song in love, in this moment Maria's sounds like nothing less than adoration. The cup overflows, the brook babbles (but wheezes less and less), and there is no more lovely melody than bright, unfettered laughter. Music still rushes from the corners of her smiling mouth as she takes the envelope in hand, coming to quietude as she gently unfolds the parchment.

"--oh...!" The little princess swallows her voice, blinking once, twice, three times and more at the picture in her hands. On the other side, Bernadetta just barely peeks at her through her lashes, but the reassurances stick in her throat like a marble. It is one thing to write what remains with her in memory, but it is another thing entirely to look at his face again, smiling beside hers. (It is also a secret third thing, that it should be a gift -- that it had been remembered, that it mattered, that it was always safe with Bernie.)

"... ...mm-mmm!" Holding it gently to her chest, Maria beams a smile full to bursting with sunshine, effulgent even through the few tears that prickle at her eyes. "It's not stupid! Not at all! Having a picture of him... and with me, too?" That was a wish she hadn't realized she'd held onto. "It's perfect! And it makes me so happy I think I might burst! Hee hee!"

Rocking back onto her heels, the little princess hastily-but-carefully tucks the picture back into its envelope; then, with her treasure newly secured, she lurches onto her tiptoes and throws herself forward from there, arms wrapped around Bernadetta's shoulders and a song of laughter now singing in her ears.

"And I remember, too!" A step back at that, though hands still linger on the other girl's shoulders, a promise made just for her.

"Hee hee... look forward to it, okay? I love it, Bernie! And I love you!"

Sometime after making my Houseboat Hug piece, I thought of possibly making a Della equivalent for Mother's Day at some point to match up with it. 

I had the original pencil drawings saved in a file, ready for the right time, and decided to come back to it five years later. (oh my gosh 😳) Ha...I was NOT loving the finalization process. 🫠 I started to regret the poses...they seemed a little too complicated together. And I couldn't figure out the best placement for Della's hands. It didn't feel like the proportions were correct...and worst of all, the composition was feeling really bland to me. 😕 I wondered if it was the way I did the wall photos that was creating this sentiment, but I didn't want to spend time doing more accurate recreations; not at the moment, I was running out of time to complete the piece for the day of...(Spoilers: I did not. x_x )

Despite how I was feeling about it, I told myself to work on making it more appealing anyway. I'm glad I didn't give up! I think it looks much better now. 😊

REVIEW | "Dandadan" - Volume Ten | B3crew.com

You can call Dandadan many things. These things include “funny”, “creepy”, “perverted”, “action-packed”, and “sweet”. What you can’t call Dandadan is “predictable”. If you read Volume Ten, you’ll understand why.

Momo and Okarun have gathered a pretty good team in the last couple of volumes. Their new addition Vamola is still something of a mystery, but as of now, she seems to be on the side of good. After all, she’s got a thing for Okarun, and although Momo despises that, she gets along pretty well with her. However, everyone on the team goes through the wringer in both physical and mental ways.

And Dewey on his own adventure! Still can’t decide on if he loses a leg like Della or an arm instead but I’m working on it, he also meets someone new on the way. I’m still working on her design too so sorry if it looks bad 🥲 and I still need to give her a name 😭

Turboe's opinions on the Little Western:

Turb hates Duck a lot (She heard bits of the Diesel fiasco and blamed Duck for it)

She also dislikes Oliver because of his "ReSOurCe AnD SaGacITy" and because he NEVER shuts up about his scrapyard escape.

She doesn't mind Donald, Douglas, Toad or the autocoaches but she doesn't see them much.

The sea air also apparently makes her feel sick, although it's hard to tell if it's genuine or if she's just making an excuse to get away from Duck and Oliver (especially since she's worked on the Harwick and Brendam branches with no issues).

Basically, don't send her to the Little Western. She'll hate every second of it.
