EVERYONE WAKE UP REBELLION SEQUEL ANNOUNCED! NOT A DRILL!
THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE IS “WALPURGIS NO KAITEN” - “TURNING THE TIDE OF WALPURGIS”
EDIT: “Walpurgis’s Heaven” might not be an accurate translation. more common translations I have begun to see are “turning the tide” and possibly more significantly, “Wapurgis’s Revolution” but until we get a proper official translation i reccomend just going with “Walpurgis no Kaiten”
They had it since 2014... They didn’t drag up Urobuchi from his current projects at all. He finished the script in 2014. It’s just been lying around for 7 years.
I really don’t know how a Walpurgisnacht-focused movie will be a sequel to Rebellion unless it’s something really strange. So far I can’t see how it ties into everything from the concept movie at all, which means one of 3 things:
They’ve decided to scrap most if not all of what was in the concept movie (which looked perfectly fine, and if this is the case, has be very very concerned)
They’re actually going to make 2 sequels to Rebellion: this Walpy one first, THEN everything from the concept movie to properly end the story
They somehow use the original concept movie’s concept here and it all turns out fine.

What does Kaiten (for Walpurgis no Kaiten) mean in Japanese?
I had to look it up, but apparently the direct meaning is "turn of the Heaven's will." A better English expression would be "turning the tide." So Walpurgis no Kaiten can be roughly translated as “Turning the Tide of Walpurgis” or “Walpurgis’ Turning Point.”
Considering how the movies title is “Turning The Tides of Walpurgis” that seems like even if it is post rebellion, that means that Walpurgis will still have to be fought, and when that fight does happen in the movie I hope even if it’s just the original quintet (plus the new character? Maybe?) the last battle will be similar to the Last Magia event from Magia Record, with even if it’s just the original quintet— they will put in their all to fight her. And even considering how that the way everyone one in Magia Record couldn’t have won without Ultimate Madokas influence, maybe here, even if she doesn’t truly find out about her godhood again until after, maybe she unconsciously ends up still using some of that power anyway? I don’t know
