To start let's make sure we're all on the same page

What is a Lancer?: put simply, a Lancer is character who serves as a foil to/contrast their leader. They must be part of a group of 3 or more.

Ideal lancers are generally kind of an asshole, jaded, snarky, more morally grey than the leader and often oppose the leader. While these are great none are strictly necessary. They can be stoic, part of the bad guy team, or even a half Lancer half leader with another half Lancer half leader. Characters can Lancer and be lancered by multiple people. It's unlikely I'll accept real people or Ocs so unless you can bring a great, long argument for their inclusion so if you can't then don't bother

Usual brackets style, a series of one-on-ones, progressing through several rounds. Fighters will mostly make it to round 1 based on number of submissions(spaming is negative submissions) but when theres equal submissions remaining I'll chose based on how convincing your descriptions are.

Welcome, one and all, to the very probably third or fourth ever betrayal bracket!

What is this bracket for, you ask? Simple! We're collecting all of the top 10 32? 48? 64? anime anything betrayals, and then pitting them against each other! All of your favorites. All of your least favorites. Love that guy? Send them in. Hate their guts? Great! Send them in anyways! However, before we get started, of course, we have to cover:

What counts as a betrayal?

A betrayal is, roughly speaking, any time a character acts against another character they claim to be allied with. A betrayal must be willful and conscious to count- if a character is under effects of mind control, being possessed, etc, they are not betraying anyone they act against. However, characters who have been manipulated into acting against their close ones do, for the sake of this bracket, still count- It is still them acting against their friends.

A character needn't be a villain to betray someone! If a hero or a protagonist infiltrates a villain group, pretends to be one of them, and takes them down from the inside, that is still a betrayal. Heroes can betray villains, villains can betray heroes, villains can betray villains, and heroes can betray heroes. Nothing is off the table here. Except, of course, for things that are off the table.

So what is off the table, then?

Any real people. This means the guy who scammed you on Animal Jam, the guy who said they would trim your armor on Runescape, any and all politicians, so on and so forth.

1a. If they're funny, I might consider it. What's funny? What's not funny? We'll see. As an example, though, I might be inclined to include, say, Brutus, of stabbing Caesar fame.

2. Spamming submissions. Just... don't. If you do, I'll steal your porch, ㅤokay?

3. Please, please, PLEASE when you're submitting someone, explain ㅤhow they have betrayed their allies. I live under a rock, so I most ㅤ ㅤlikely don't know. Yes, even that one. Yes, even the obvious ones. ㅤYes, even ones that are in my header. Thank you!

4. That's it! I might limit submissions from a single source if one ㅤㅤ ㅤsource has too many submissions, but for now I simply want to see ㅤwhat we can get!

How will the matchups be determined?

Great question! Matchups will be seeded by the amount of submissions each character gets. The characters with the most submissions will be pitted against those with the least submissions during round 1. This means that the first few rounds will largely be landslide victories, and not very suspenseful. However, it wouldn't be nearly as fun if Reigen vs Sans had been the first poll of the sexyman bracket, would it? We want the real competitions to come later, that's where all the suspense comes in handy!

The Sexyman Showdown consists of a standard tournament bracket with an A Roster and a B Roster. A Roster characters are generally more popular/MSQ characters, while B Roster characters are typically side characters. This is to ensure that side characters have a fighting chance against some of the bigger names and to keep things interesting. Contender matchups are decided by random number generator in order to keep things fair for each round. Each round will last 24 hours.

At the end, the winner of the sexyman showdown will go head to head with Khatun Sadu Heavensflame to determine if they are worthy of being crowned the ULTIMATE FFXIV SEXYMAN

BARBIE SEXYMAN TOURNAMENT

HELLO and WELCOME to the BARBIE SEXYMAN TOURNAMENT

who is the sexiest barbie man? i dunno fam, id say [host bias]- (if you know me, you know who it is , but i DIGRESS)

I have compiled a comprehensive list of 64 Barbie Men who are totally contenders for the Sexyman Title. This has come from scrolling the wiki, the Bad Barbie Discord, and of course, the silly Google Form I sent out however many days ago

It's split out into four separate brackets of 16- A, B, C, and D. I wAS going to have a special sorting like. Prettyboys and. uh. i have no clue what else but- It's completely random. This means it could have the worst or the best matchups and i think its gonna be really funny.

SO! Without further ado, here are the four brackets!

We will go two matchups per day, each lasting about a week, so more people can see them and so i dont FORGET so quickly. Then, at the end, we shall have a final fight between the winners of A and B, and C and D- with one more to find the ULTIMATE sexyman. (maybe with a surprise match at the end... hmm)

I don't know if I've said this before, but the winner of the scripted bracket will go against the winner of the unscripted bracket. Then the ultimate non-WtNV champion will go against the winner of the Night Vale bracket. This is the way we'll find the true sexiest fictional podcast character.

Which means, if you play your cards right, we could have a Sans Undertale vs Cecil Gershwin Palmer rematch.*

*Okay yes, this is a different Sans Undertale. And yes, this tournament is about which character is actually sexier, rather than which is the best example of a Tumblr Sexyman. But still.

Anyways, if you want to bring that possibility to fruition or banish that future forever, you should vote in Round 2: Lup vs Sans Undertale.

Welcome to the “Official (Unofficial) Redacted Sexyman Tournament!” I will be your host, Star(litAngels)!

I have made a randomly-generated bracket with as many of the Redacted characters as I could remember and I know I still forgot some, and I left some off on purpose, and I will be holding polls every day to see who will advance, and who will not

This is Voiced Characters Only. And Prime Universe Only. If you’re interested in an Imperium Sexyman Tournament or a Sexiest Listener Character Tournament, let me know. Either of those would probably be after the boys because I don’t think I’ll have time to keep track of two or (heaven forbid) three at a time.

The winner will be the Ultimate Redacted Sexyman According To Tumblr. (The Tumblr part is very important. This ain’t no Redactness or Redactness After Dark in a Discord server with Erik watching. This is Tumblr where we’re all allowed to be 137% more unhinged, among other things, with no Creator Supervision��)

Now, remember, this is randomly generated. I didn’t choose the initial line-up of which character against which. So if your two faves are against each other for the initial round, sorry. Not my fault.

I will be tagging the polls with “Redacted Sexyman” so you can either blacklist it or keep track of/follow the competition

Other important note: this is just for fun. No one is allowed to start drama or discourse over this, you hear? We’re all just fans having a good time and I don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t have a good time participating in a slew of silly little polls that are ultimately meaningless and an entertaining way to pass a little time.

You must vote for the sexiest character, in your opinion. This is a Sexyman contest, not a favorites contest. If your fave is less sexy than the boy they’re competing against, you gotta vote for the sexier one in your opinion. Yes I’m aware that “favorite” and “sexiest” are often the same. But if they’re not, you have to choose whichever person you find the sexiest

Be nice to everyone else voting. No harassing others over their opinions

Be honest. No voter fraud or anything. Don’t go to your friends outside the fandom and be like “hey I need you to vote for this person even though you have no context”. This is for Redacted Fans Only.

You will have 24 hours to vote each day, as per Tumblr poll mechanics, and there will be a new duel every day. However if I skip a day, please don’t harass me about it. A reminder is okay, a demand is not.

Caelum is not included because he is a literal child before anyone asks or gives me any grief. He is not qualified to be a “sexyman.” Honestly I wasn’t going to include Regulus for similar reasons but he has a BA so I felt like I kinda had to? Some people are into that? Anyway

It's time to decide who the sexiest man in Tales is! This tournament will have one poll a day for about a month to crown the ultimate Tales Sexyman.

The first vote is for the preliminary round. In this round, I have gathered a list of every man in Tales who is either a party member or the game's final boss. That gives us a list of 48 contenders. Pick up to 15 characters from the list, including a space to write in the names of NPCs you think deserve a shot. The 32 characters with the most votes will go into a bracket at the end of the week, and then the daily 1-v-1 polls will start.

how IS this gonna work? because if we're just making the main bracket into a double elimination tournament by filtering each new round of losers into the redemption bracket that will mean that everyone except the ultimate winner is in this bracket at some point, meaning that in a couple rounds the high seeds will probably thrash again. but if we just do the round 1 losers we miss out on the round 2+ injustices. but if we do separate loser brackets for each round that's a LOT to ask of you.

After Round 2, any losers after wont be included (they might get their own tournament tho)

Why is Bandee in the sexyman competition he is 2

Bandana Waddle Dee was put in for a couple of reasons. Overall it was because his inclusion ultimately makes things more fun.

There wasn't a lot of options that could stand up to all the others. I've seen some people suggest Zero 2 and Hyness should have been added. But they would have no shot past the first round.

Bandana Waddle Dee honestly deserves to win something, or at least his fans here deserve a fair shot. He wasn't in smash bros, so he is going to be in this competition.

It would also be more fun than every other option. A big reason why I made the tournament was because I hoped and thought that a lot of art would come from it, especially as things got down to the wire. It's a lot more fun to make art of Bandana Waddle Dee competing against the other people in the bracket than it would be to draw Hyness or Zero Two.

In the original post I called it the "Kirby Tumblr Sexyman(+Women+BWD) Bracket". While he is competing in the Sexyman bracket, I personally do not think of him as a Sexyman. Sexyman competitions are just a weird popularity contest anyway, which is part of the fun!

The tournament isn't meant to be taken seriously anyway, so yeah while he is not a sexyman by most people's definitions, who cares. If you want to take a Tumblr Sexyman bracket seriously, you are in the wrong place.
